The manga series that inspired the card game that swept the globe!

Tenth-grader Yugi always had his head in some game—until he solved the Millennium Puzzle, an Egyptian artifact containing the spirit of a master gambler from the age of the pharoahs! Possessed by the puzzle, Yugi becomes Yu-Gi-Oh, the King of Games, and challenges evildoers to the Shadow Games…weird games with high stakes and high risks!

The four Duel Monsters semifinalists get ready for what could be the last duels of their lives. For Jonouchi, this means facing the evil Egyptian duelist whose grudge has smoldered for 3,000 years. If Jonouchi wins, his dream of facing Yugi in the finals will come true. But if he loses, he’ll be stuck in a nightmare he can never wake up from.

Nice ending to the previous storyline and a strong introduction into the new one. The only gripe is that I won't be seeing any more card duels for a long time. One thing is for sure, Bakura is the strongest villain of the series.

L'arco di Battle City è terminato, ora ci addentriamo nell'ultimo (e per me straziante) arco, quello delle Memorie del Faraone. Preparo già i fazzoletti.
Mancano solo due volumi e io mi sto già chiedendo come farò senza Yugi, Atem, Kaiba e company.
Urge un rewatch dell'anime.

This was a good volume that concluded the Battle City arch well and yet the character development of Marik was well done, leading a good conclusion to his character.
Yet I found the start of Millennium World interesting and yet far more shocking than the anime. I found that the set up was also was better handled.
It introduced Thief King Bakura was better than the anime and showed more clout to his ability to tomb raid and why he is called the King of Thieves.

The conclusion of Battle City and the beginning of the Millennium World arc. Millennium World is my favourite arc. This arc is an origin story of Duel Monsters, The Millennium Items, The Pharaoh's lost memories, and Bakura. Bakura is my all-time favourite yugioh villain and character, and him becoming the main villain throughout this arc makes this arc the most enjoyable for me. 🖤

This feels like the beginning of the end and I have a feeling it’s just going to be bittersweet from here on out.
