I almost feel like every person should read this series and see the strong importance of community and having people you can depend on. That depending on people is NOT a weakness and that it's important to know your weaknesses and not be afraid to ask for help from those who care for you and/or are more experienced/wiser/etc. than you. It's such a powerful message that I think is not a focus in stories enough, but with Queen's Quality, this volume clarifies very early on that you NEED help, you need family, and community. It's beautiful and I love it so much! <3
The next thing that comes to mind that is...why is the romance here so underrated?! I see on Twitter often that people hate age gaps and just want to proudly point with two hands at our leads because hello, these two are the same age and have one of the most beautiful relationships! Granted, there not together romantically and man was this volume like a gut punch when it came to that! So heartbreaking and DESPERATELY hope this ship will sail because Kyutaro has entered my best shoujo boy hall of fame! LOL!
I did forget how dark this volume gets and how upsetting it was in a later scene with Fumi. It was definitely uncomfortable a little bit for me.
Even with that said though, VERY excited to read the next volume! Continuing to love this series so much!

I am still shocked at how much I love this series, but here we are with me buying all of Queen's Quality and QQ Sweeper because I need more! LOL!
Seriously though, it's a very fantastic series and really enjoy the "supernatural" aspect mixed in with the really sweet romance. (Why has no one said Kytaro is best boy?! He is AMAZING! Also facts by Takaya that he totally more or less said a marriage proposal to Fumi LOL) Usually, supernatural stories are not something I am fond of, but I feel like this volume really captures the battle in our own minds and the importance of having people we trust to help us when we're getting "pulled under." Fumi IS an ordinary girl, but seeing her struggles as the Queen starts emerging was REALLY relatable. Motomi has a gift in showcasing the unseen battle that is always happening in us and all around us.
Something that really surprised me in this volume is the actions of Ataru. When his sister started talking about the new "pretty slave," I was pretty taken aback at how corrected his sister for her wrong words. Not only that, I felt his motives were realistic and compelling, which I…was not fond of. It made him seem less "villain-like" (though he is DEFINITELY a villain) because him wanting to vanish evil truly adds another layer of don't we all want that as people? It is a REALLY good part of this story! Though with that said, evil actions are never the answer and I think we are already seeing how true that is. Evil can't get rid of evil, but light can (even though that part hasn't been "explored" quite like that, but I truly hope it will!)
Now while this story is DEEP, I also really enjoy how Motomi gives us such sweet moments between Fumi and Kyutaro! (That shopping scene was HILARIOUS! LOL) I ship them SO much and absolutely love how much Kyutaro cares for Fumi! Plus, Koichi and Granny are amazing and love their characters so much too! The way they stand by Fumi and genuinely help and guide her as well as support her is so encouraging to see in fiction.
This series continues to blow me away! It is powerful and a fun read that I'm like, "I need all day just to read!" LOL! Highly recommend!!

I wouldn't recommend reading this before first reading the "prequel" series of QQ sweeper. It's actually just a continuation of the same series, but after Motomi was asked to move her series to a different magazine, there are some significant changes.
I thought the name change very interesting from the original series. I was more under the impression that the QQ was named for Kyutaro (or QTaro)... I think this is the biggest indication that there is a shift in perspective.
It does feel like a good shift. The story feels a bit more solid. But, where I felt it overly-resembled Dengeki Daisy, now I think it might overly-resemble Beast Master. Motomi can't seem to escape the overt scenarios in her series.
And, the one thing that got on my nerves (because there will always be something) was the constant barrage of the insult "noncompoop". I can't help but wonder if the translator was a fan of MASH, since that was the insult they often used... I'm assuming in reference to "noncom"batants. Every time I've heard a similar insult used in real life the phrase was "nincompoop". This slight vowel alteration makes me ponder all sorts of things.

FINALLY! I loved the first 'prequel' series and also I adore Dengeki daisy! This mangaka is so, so amazing!

So I didn't read QQ Sweeper like I was supposed to. But I finished Volume one of Queen's Quality and now I'm going to circle back to QQ Sweeper.
Even without reading the series before this one I got the gist of the story. It didn't feel confusing at all and I really enjoyed it. I loved the concept of the Light and Dark Queen, the magic associated with emotions and even the responsibilities of the sweepers.
It has a really intriguing mystery aspect because our main character has amnesia and a secret love! Together with the humor, which I really really enjoyed, I have to give this volume 5 stars. It was a fun, fast paced manga, with enough emotion and intrigue to really keep you invested!

QQ Sweeper ended after three volumes and pretty much focused on Q. For whatever reason, Motomi has decided to continue the story under a new title, now focused on Fumi and a unique but malevolent power within her. Quite a bit of this new story reminded me of Dengeki Daisy; fans of that series will find much to love with this 'reboot'.Plot: Some people are born with a power to control others. They are always female and they can gravitate to good (white queen) or evil (black queen). Fumi's lack of memory and hard past suggest someone has been grooming her to eventually become a black queen they can manipulate. But Fumi has found a home where there are people to protect her from that fate, especially Q. But what she doesn't know (and can never know) is that Q has a past with her that he cannot share - and his reasons for protecting her go far beyond preventing the black queen from reappearing.
Admittedly, QQ Sweeper was a bit bland - all the talk about how to clean things was boring and there just wasn't enough to really define the characters. With Queen's Quality, the story has become streamlined, has a recognizable villain, and the relationship between our two protagonists is better realized. In all, it's a much better story now.
Of course, how much does it resemble Dangeki Daisy? We have the fiercely protective but moody/secretive love interest, cheerful but strong heroine, a cute pet name she calls him (in this case, nincompoop instead of baldy), and an interesting set of bad guys. There's supernatural elements here but parcel for parcel, this shares much of the same DNA from Dangeki Daisy.
I wasn't really interested in continuing QQ Sweeper but Queen's Quality has all those great romantic moments that made Daisy so wonderful (and was missing in QQ). So I am all for this much neede change in the series. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Like QQ Sweeper, this volume strikes a good balance between comedy and drama. Chapter 3 is my favorite: it's hilarious yet bittersweet while expanding on Fumi and Kyutaro's dynamic. The story ends up taking a darker turn that I expected and now I'm even more invested than I was before.

This is a review of volumes 1-3 which I read together back to back. See the plot section for my thoughts on the individual volumes.
From the mangka who brought us Dengeki Daisy is a new series in the same vein. Fumi lives with Kyutaro, a boy her own age, and his family of Sweepers, people who specialize in cleaning the minds of those overcome by negative energy and harmful spirits. An orphan with a forgotten past, Fumi is on the hunt for a "prince" but as she becomes more and more the Queen Kyutaro is the only one who can help her control awakening powers... Will she start falling for him?
The art is very reminiscent of Dengeki Daisy, which is no surprise since that is Kyousuke Motomi's style! And frankly I love it! She knows how to design characters that stand out with allies who win you over quickly. I enjoy the balance of comedy and series dramatic moments that keep us guessing. The art provides this really great setting for the story to live in... and I'm quite in love with the freaky bugs and the infested people! It adds this element that DD didn't have that makes the world feel fresh and new, a great thing for a new series.
The characters are quite authentic! Fumi’s fears are so relatable and female empowering while not making Kyutaro (Q) a flat love interest! She doesn’t want to disappoint and be left alone, but she MUST learn about her family and her past so she bravely faces what is coming, which I quite love. Kyutaro has a totally different problem in that he knows too much... or at least thinks he does. If that mystery continues to advance in Motomi fashion then we we really be rooting for these two by the end...
Fact of the matter, I totally ship these two already. They have these lovely romantic moments that paired with their past history makes for some lovely tension! Then we have the villains which are quite well developed. I love the depth they have... in their brother-sister relationship and how they conflict over his moral code. Then we have the sweeper rivals who want to hold the Queens power for their clan. But its the different queens that make this super powerful! You want to see where Fumi takes this female empowerment...
In volume 1, Fumi gets thrust right into the action as she has to face the darkness inside of herself. This was so, so good! Fumi and Kyutaro have to work together and you really start to see that bond... as well as the forces she is up against. And we learn a lot about the basics of sweeping through this and volume 2. I loved how the handler villain's own morals play against him but also his motivation plays against Fumi and Kyutaro's goals too! So good! In volume 3, we get more of the mixed bag that Motomi does so well... there is more family met, sweeper world building and even a cute aside about cleaning! Plus a major revelation about Fumi's queen problem... This 3 volume arc sets up the premise so well and seriously makes me want to root for these two and their clan.
I originally read volume 1-3 so that I could get into volume 4 which I have as an eARC but as I delved into these volumes I found myself hooked on Kyousuke Motomi's style once again... her art style, her character style and especially her story style! Queen's Quality has her humor, her humanity and her action with a nice side of the supernatural... so get in here and start cleaning!

This series is a continuation of the manga QQ Sweeper. I really don't know why the mangaka decided to do that, other then the fact that this series we follow Fumi more and in the other we got to peek into Q's head.
Anyway, this picks up pretty much where the other left off, she's still a cleaner, still living with the same awesome people. Fumi finally is told about the Queen thing. Making her fear the evil queen will take over. Q is also told that he can never tell Fumi that she was the little girl he'd fallen in love with but he must stay by her side. I feel so bad for him, that's gotta suck.
Now the art is freaking stunning and I know that lot's of people will say this is kinda like that other series this author did... you'd be right, there are lots of similar things in this series and Dengeki Daisy, so if you're a fan of that series, you'll love this one as well. I know I am loving it.

This sequel series continues right where QQ Sweeper leaves off with Fumi living with Kyotaru and his family, with a profession as a sweeper. I can't say too much about this without spoiling QQ Sweeper, so I won't elaborate on details of the series.
I love the way that the partnership is progressing between Fumi and Kyotaru. I cannot wait to see how that continues to progress throughout this series for sure. I am enjoying the new character introduced in this volume as well. It adds a more flushed out element to the volume.
I continue to adore this world, and this mangaka for deciding to expand on what we learned in the beginning series.

Queen's Quality? There's so much to say about this manga. I'll start off by saying that I am a huge fan of manga, even though I've only read a couple series such as Kitchen Princess, Sailor Moon, The Maximum Ride manga version, and now this one! I would've never found out about this if one of my best friends hadn't recommended it. The art is beautiful yet sometimes a bit creepy, but it is wonderful. The story behind the characters are fantastic and I loved that Kyutaro is so mysterious. I'm so happy that I picked up this book because like I said before, the artwork and the story is fantastic. I'm reading the second volume now, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Continuing the events of QQ Sweeper, Queen's Quality started off with a bang. This volume wasted no time telling the story of what happened during QQ Sweeper's "half-baked" ending, and dives straight to the issue at hand. In here we were explained what being a Queen is and what it means for Fumi. As what I've said before, this series is really different from those that I usually read and I actually find myself getting more drawn into this. This volume or rather this series also poses more threats (but more doki doki) for the growing relationship between Q and Fumi. Anyway, I am having a great time reading this and I can't wait to go on to the next volume.

Although a bit exposition heavy in the first chapter (which is understandable because technically it's the third volume of QQ Sweeper), the manga picks up pace quickly and takes us into the darker places of the human mind...almost literally. As with QQ Sweeper, the mangaka maintains a great balance between moments of seriousness and hilariousness plus the angst-riddled relationship of Kyutaro and Fumi is also pretty fun!

I've been a fan of Dengeki Daisy, another manga Kyousuke Motomi wrote. So it is not surprising that I liked this one too. Definitely on my to watch out for manga. ❤️

I expected a lot from this because I loved the manga before this one by the same author, and I was a little disappointed lol, the illustrations are so pretty though and I will continue since I have the 12 first volumes^^

Warnings: physical assault and abuse of student
With Fumi's power as a Queen revealed at the end of the QQ Sweeper series, this one focuses on that, with the Bug Handlers as the main antagonist. The Horikitas have concluded that her 'curse' may very well have been the machinations of these Handlers, to awaken the Black Queen inside her. And in this book, too, they attempt to do just that. Seems like Fumi's main arc is to resist the Black Queen's power inside her, though it is heavily implied that the White Queen's power is somewhere deep within her too. Meanwhile, Kyutaro sets himself up as her protector, and he is pretty sure she is his childhood love Fuyu - how she lost her memories is another mystery at this point, though.
I am liking the artwork better in this series - I feel like there is more detailing in some panels, I guess? As for the story pace, much like QQ Sweeper it is rushing things quite a bit for one book - once again, we are introduced to a new infected (which usually involves a whole story about the person) and then the cleaners (Kyutaro and Fumi) have to go in, though this time, Fumi gets overwhelmed by the evil miasma whatever. Seems to me like it would be better to NOT have her go in those situations, unless it is like 'desensitization' kind of exposure they are hoping for. Also, why is no one discussing about how Kyutaro is now her 'consort'? Where did that come from? Is it just because he pledged to protect her?
The 'infected' in this book follows the pattern of the previous ones - someone who is a bully, primarily. Though, I gotta say - the frequent examples of insects are shown around girls gossiping and being malicious to other girls, which, uh, has me thinking a bit. Not that bullying isn't harmful, but there are ALSO various other evil things in the world, so focusing only on high school toxicity, specifically about girls, is, well, getting repetitive. Still, I like the story set-up so far, and am looking to see where it takes Fumi's story arc.

I missed these characters so freaking much! Kyutaro and Nishioka are the sweetest and so angst...the scene where they go out shopping was the highlight of this volume because I totally reate to Kyutaro lol
I'm really hoping that her memories get restored and nothing bad happen, but well...we all know that more angst is coming.
Also, Ataru is interesting! Even if he is the villain.

È stato un manga inaspettatamente bello. Innanzitutto la trama è davvero nuova e particolare, ci troviamo addirittura al cospetto di ripulitori di anime. I nostri protagonisti ripuliscono le persone e l'ambiente dai sentimenti negativi che imbruttiscono il mondo. Questi sentimenti si palesano come insetti o addirittura demoni spettrali nei casi più eclatanti e possono possedere le persone. E poi c'è il lato comico e romance che rende il tutto ancora più godibile. Dovrò recuperare al più presto i volumi arretrati.

Messy and confusing. This took a while to get through even though it's so short. I think Motomi-sensei tried to pack too many new ideas into one volume and would have been better served to keep the first series' main content (the sweeping) while adding information a little at a time as they went.

I know that this is a continuation of another series, but I felt super lost when I tried to read it. It has a lot of potential, but maybe I need to go back and read through the first part of the series and then give this one another try

Unfortunately, this story is too contrived and there is way too much melodrama. I still think there are some interesting ideas, so I'll continue with the story for now.

Love this continuation of the series. Motomi is so awesome!! I'm so glad this series kept going. Things are getting dark and scary, I wonder what will happen!!
