Really enjoyed this book! Although there is a great deal of scientific information from astrophysicist Bernard Haisch, and the topic of God is a heady one to begin with, it's written in a frank, down to earth style. The author Ptolemy Thompkins shares a lot of information on his childhood experiences of feeling the presence of God when he was swimming or immersed in nature. He began writing the book after his marriage had broken up, so it's also a personal quest for meaning in his life. He travels to California and stays with Bernie Haisch and his wife to conduct a series of talks or interviews on the scientific proofs that God exists. Most of the book is a summary of a series of conversations between Bernie and Ptolemy that are fascinating. During these conversations you learn that everything in the universe, from the smallest subatomic particles to the farthest reaches of the galaxy contain an intelligence that points to evidence of a Creator. You don't need a science background to appreciate the book, and you'll be in awe at the immensity and inner workings of the universe.

As a Christian, this book was quite eye opening. I was familiar with some of the other concepts but the one about consciousness was the real interesting concept. This particular concept can drastically change ones view of the world and for me personally is a game changer. The book was easy to read but at times felt a little sidewards from the objective. However, by the end, the book gives a good and concise explanation. Great read! And I'd recommend to someone unfamiliar with the proofs of God. Also, the book makes a good statement that scientist often try to separate God and science; which shouldn't be the case as science shows the intricacies, beauty and work of God. Also IMO, viewing the world made by chance is boring and quite nonsensical just by looking at the complexity of science you can see the handiwork of God (this was also somewhat said in the book). Enjoy!!!

Nothing new to see here . . .
I still can't prove there is a God. I can argue my Creator's existence with some scientific facts, but not anymore than I could before a read this book.

It's really more of the diary of a meeting of minds than a book loaded with proof of an Almighty Diety. It's written well, but it's hard for me to take seriously two guys trying to prove God who self-admittedly aren't walking closely enough with him to know Him well enough to introduce someone to Him.

I read it from cover to cover, so it obviously wasn't horrible, but it certainly didn't live up to its title.

Thought Provoking

A writer and a scientist get together to write a book called “Proof of God” – Seriously? I was intrigued. The book flows easily and is written in a conversational style making it a quick read. I found it to be informative, thought provoking and yes, entertaining. It is very easy to understand – and opens the mind to expand beyond what you may be believing, or at least thinking, currently. Expand your mind and open yourself up to new ideas. Highly Recommend.

The title, Proof of God: The Shocking True Answer to the World’s Most Important Question is a bit presumptuous, and the book is a bit rambling with Tompkins telling about his own life, but it provides an interesting basis for a philosophical discussion.

Loved the science! So exciting and in plain language. Didn't really like the journal aspect of the book. But highly recommend anyway.

So the title to me was very misleading. The book consisted of mostly an autobiography and the making of the book. Near the end we are provided the "proof", which to me just seemed like the God of the Gaps argument. Just because quantum mechanics differs so much from classical and seems even perplexing, doesn't mean God did it. Even the analogy of God as a game designer doesn't quite add up. Yes, game designers create a virtual universe (just to make the comparison easier), but the universe the game designer was not created by the game designer. The game designer's universe also has a direct affect on the virtual universe, e.g. a power outage would turn off the virtual universe and that wasn't caused by the game designer. I still give it ⭐⭐ because I like the honesty the author uses in describing his life. It's an interesting read, but not great for anyone looking for new information on theology.

You know a book is good when it gives you something that will inspire you for the rest of your life. Even the greatest believers will have times when they question their own faith. This book gave me what I needed through the collaboration of the two men who authored the book. It was a scientific real world approach to this most important question. The fascinating science of quantum physics was all the proof I needed.

I am a Jesus follower and this book really didn’t prove anything. It was all over the place. I got nothing out of this.
