I'm giving this 2.5 stars. By far my least favorite of the series because this mostly felt like filler and it dragged A LOT.
Book 2 left off with Veda being followed and in this story the man following her at the behest of Gage's family is number 3 on her list. The story delves into number 3 blackmailing Veda for oxy while she once again waffles between continuing on with her mission of castration or stopping altogether while also trying to find out number 10's identity.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as its predecessors. There was too much repetition in Veda's thoughts to the point I ended up skimming most of it, the pacing was slower, and Veda's relationship with Gage was not enjoyable to read since he hung under a large umbrella of suspicion to point I read none of their sex scenes. Plus, you've read one love scene, you've read them all. When Veda finally got the names of the owners of that Nike prototype shoe that number 10 wore, well let's say the results weren't favorable and added even more discontent, confusion, doubt, and struggle to Veda's heart and mental stability. To mine as well. I don't want to believe, but at the same time it doesn't look good. Right now I'm at the point I'd be perfectly happy if Gage and Veda didn't reconcile.
I really enjoyed any and all scenes Veda had with Linc. Especially when Veda met Linc's mom, I thought that was cute. A new character was introduced who I have to say I like, apart from her telling Veda she couldn't stop with her revenge. You know, that's awfully easy to say when you're not the one who has to tail people, learn their schedule, and wait for the right time to strike, on top of having the cops after you though they don't know its you, and worrying if the man you love brutally raped you.
The ending, I saw it coming; not surprised by the results. The clusterf*ck continues. Now the question is, what is Veda's next move?
