Fallen Immortals #4

Chosen by a Dragon

LEONIDAS
I am a Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke… and I am cursed.

Falling in love was never in the cards for me. An angry witch made sure of that—if I lose my heart, I lose my life. Only now, a treaty guaranteeing peace will die with me, unless I convince some hapless human to fall in love with me and bear my child—a dragonling born of magic and a Love that’s True. But I know nothing of love. Five hundred years of guarding my heart and opening my bed mean I’ve got zero chance at this. Yet if I fail, it won’t just be my death… but countless others.

ROSALYN
My luck has never been good. Being a witch who can’t do magic sucks on most days—it’s even worse when your mother’s cancer can’t be cured. But I’ll do whatever it takes to turn our luck around, including stealing magic healing blood from a shifter. Besides, they owe me—a hot-as-sin shifter seduced my mother, got us thrown out of the coven, and ruined my life. One of them can bleed a little to make things right. And a dragon prince with his wacky Mating Game and blood ten times more powerful? The perfect mark. My luck might just be turning good after all.

He needs her to love him without losing his heart; she wants nothing to do with his kind; and the fate of the mortal and immortal worlds depends on them not just opening their hearts, but surviving a Love that’s True…

I love this writer's style and can't wait to read the next installment. Her bad guys are totally evil and her books are fast paced and sexy. This book managed to drive me crazy and really let me down. I still must read the next book!!

Heroine was annoying!!

Leonidas was cursed by a witch so that if he ever fell in love he would turn into a beastly form of his dragon. So he bedded multiple women each night to avoid real intimacy. Yet the instal-love for a hero that's has been a man whore for over 400 years was hard to swallow

Rosalyn is a natural born witch. Years ago her mother was kicked out of their coven and Rosalyn is desperate to get back in. She's tired of not having any power and struggling to pay bills. Leonidas is the golden ticket for Rosalyn and she intends to use him for all he's worth.

Rosalyn

Leonidas' story wasn't bad. It just didn't grab me like the first 3 books did. The instalove wasn't believable and Rosalyn was very self centered. If I don't like a heroine...I won't love the book!

Nope. Can't do it. First five pages grated my nerves like no one's business.

This is my sneer btw...

Holy wow! This installment was so exciting, so poignant. I adore both Leonidas and Rosalyn and I'm eager to see how their story ends. Roger Wayne and Noelle Bridges did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life!

***
Who knew I'd find Leonidas' story so compelling?!? Maybe it was because the groundwork had been laid, and I already knew Leonidas to a certain degree. Maybe it was Roger Wayne and Noelle Bridges' engaging narration. Whatever it is, this Dragon Prince's story had me listening every chance I could.

Leonidas was cursed long ago by a witch. Should he ever fall in love, he's doomed to turn into a feral dragon. So naturally he'd pick a witch to help him fulfill his duty with the treaty. He could never love a witch after being cursed by one, right??

Roselyn is a hedge witch - a magic cripple. Her mother's powers were bound due to an affair with a shifter and she's never been able to learn how to harness her magic. She answers an ad for a shifter looking for a mate figuring she can steal a little blood to help solve a few of her problems. When she learns the shifter is a dragon? Well, she figures her luck is changing.

These two were such compelling characters. Leonidas is actually very vulnerable with the opposite sex - craving real intimacy, which he can't have - instead of the slam-bam he's partaken of since his curse. It was sweet seeing how thoughtful he was with Roselyn. I felt for Roselyn. Her predicament was frustrating and not of her doing. The unfairness of that struck a chord with me. Then seeing her try and fail at almost everything with Leonidas...it was endearing.

Bridges and Wayne were amazing. Their delivery, pacing, and range with voices really made the story vivid. I did think the recording of Bridges' early chapters was a bit "tinny" but that seemed to resolve as the recording when on.

I'm very eager to see what happens next with Leonidas and Roselyn!

Oh My!! Chosen by a Dragon is a GREAT DISSAPPOINTMENT!!
Leonidas Smoke is the second born of the dragon Princes of the House of Smoke and he must find a mate that will love him and bare his baby dragonling. Its his turn, his brother Lucian has done is part. Has mated and had Larik a baby dragonling.

Enters the dormant which Rosalyn Thorne her magical powers don't work because her and her mother have been hexed. They are referred to as the hedgewitches that live outside of a coven. Isadora Thorn had sex with a shifter and was thrown out of the coven that she and her daughter belong too. Which happens to be her daughter Rosalyn's fathers coven.

The reason I dislike this story so much was the way the characters are written. Rosalyn runs a shop Thorns and All that is suppose to sale magical portions and artifacts, etc. She will barter the use of her body sex for services she needs. She had sex with a construction worker to get shelves built. She is trash and in my opinion nothing more then a prostitute. She tries to trap Leonidas more then once to obtain his blood to sale. Hoping that this will enable her and her mother to becomes members of a coven again an regain there magical powers.

Leonidas is weak nothing like an Alpha male. He is worst then is brother Lucian who is now the King of the Dragaons. At least Lucian has an excellently written mate and now Queen in Arabella Sharp. But Rosalyn is stupid and has nothing good in her to recommend her!!

This is a BIG Disappointment of a story in the Fallen Immortal series!!

I torn between Lucian and Arabella (the first three books) and now Leonidas and Rosalyn as which was my favorite start to a burning trilogy. Leonidas has me hot, overheating, and ready for whatever he has to give. I think that Rosalyn may just be a little more than he was barganing for. A witch that can do no magic. That hurts the ego a bit. But the chemistry will keep you moving forward. I love shifters. Dragon shifters top that love. Bring on the next one.

3.5 stars rounded up

The premise of our heroine needing the magical properties of dragon blood and our hero hosting dating nights so he can find a mate and not die interested me. I thought it would be a fun read, and it was.

It's got lots of different types of magic users and magical politics, and the hero is ridiculously kind. Our heroine is not (and there were times I really didn't like her) but she keeps it interesting. As a bonus, the book surprised me several times.

I skimmed pretty heavily, and it has a cliffhanger ending -- don't say I didn't warn you.

Alisa Woods’ CHOSEN BY A DRAGON is an amazing addition to the Fallen Immortals series. Leonidas, Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke was cursed by a witch to die if he ever fell in love. Unfortunately, to keep a treaty with the Fae in tacked he needs to find a woman to fall in love with him and have his dragonling while not falling in love with her. What better choice not to lose his heart to than a witch. This contemporary PNR takes place in Seattle, Washington. It is suitable for adults.

Alisa Woods’ continues to do a wonderful job with her character development. Leonidas finds himself in quite a predicament. He cannot fall in love, yet he must fulfill the treaty find a woman to love him and have his dragonling. I could see his logic in selecting a witch. How could he ever fall in love with a woman who is the same species that cursed him? I like Leonidas’ character; at almost five hundred years old, he has experienced and been through a lot. He was blindsided by the treaty. He always thought it would be his older brother responsibility to find a mate and have a child. They discovered in the last book that the treaty included the other two triplets in the treaty as well, so, Leonidas does not have a lot of time on his side. He is an honorable and good guy. I like how he is with his nephew, Larik.

Rosalyn Thorne is a down on her luck witch that has no plans on falling in love with a shifter. She thought dragons were a myth. She looks at Leonidas as an opportunity to help her mother and better their lives. Peculiarly, both Leonidas and Rosalyn have been wronged by the witches. I like that Leonidas knows that Rosalyn is up to something but still peruses her. She is persistent at getting what she wants. The two have an intense chemistry that is fun to read about.

I enjoyed the plot; it was fast moving with lots of twists. CHOSEN BY A DRAGON is well-written and clever. I like how supportive the brothers are of each other. I love that Leonidas looks out for Rosalyn despite some of the things she does. The ending was thrilling, and I am very interested in reading the next book to see how it turns out. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

OMG! After having read Lucian’s story, I wasn’t sure that it could get any better…WRONG! Even though Lucian’s tale was hot, full of excitement and promise, Leonidas is every bit as hot, strong and full of excitement, perhaps even more so, as he strives to find a woman that will truly love him and bear him a dragonling in order to keep his end of the treaty alive. After having set up a Mating Game in order to find the right woman that would love him, but that he would not love so that he would not turn wyvern, he thinks he’s found the right one in a witch, figuring he could never love her thanks to the witch who cursed him so many years ago. It was the perfect ploy…or was it? Rosalyn was on a mission. She needed shifter blood in order to save her mother who was dying of cancer. After being banned from the coven and stripped of her magic thanks to her father after her mother fell in love with a shifter after she was born, she is determined to find a shifter to get said blood, so she answers an ad for the Mating Game, hoping to find a strong wolf shifter. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect to find herself with a dragon shifter, the strongest of all shifters. If only she can get a bit of his blood to help not only her mom heal, but to bargain with the local coven to accept them back in.
So much action going on that you won’t want to put this one down, even though it is part one of Leonidas’ story. Be prepared to be left hanging, but oh my! What a thrill! Can’t wait for part two!
I received a copy of this book, and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Title: Chosen by a Dragon
Author: Alisa Woods
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Format: Ebook
Pages: 268
Rating: 5
Heat: 5

Thoughts: Oh man, I can't wait to see how this all comes together. As usual, Ms. Woods does not disappoint. The story sucks you in from page one and leaves you throwing a tantrum on the floor when it's done because the next book isn't out yet lol. I am loving Leonidas and Rosalyn, they can't seem to figure out if they want to push each other way or grab hold and never let go. All I can say is write faster (cuz that is so easy lol). All I think I really need to say is dragons... hot as sin, dragons.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.

Wow, i can't believe how this ended!!!! I need to know what happens next!!!!! This is an amazing book and i am so glad that i voluntarily read this book. This is a seriously addictive read and you won't be able to put this down once you have started it.

This really is a brilliant storyline, it also filled me up with a lot of emotions. During the previous books my heart always went out to Leonidas and during this whole book i just really felt for him. This book is based on him finding a mate however what he is not what he expected. I loved the way that the author wrote this book and pulled you into the magic and mysticism of this world filled with shifters, witches, vampires and fae. there are so many aspects to this storyline and i loved that about this book.

Leonidas has always been a favourite character of mine in this series, there is something so gentle about him, he can be extremely protective and although he tries to keep up a persona, in his heart he cares about the people around him and he feels deeply. at first i wasn't sure how i felt about Rosalyn but the more i read this book and her character the more i warmed to her. She will do anything to protect her mother she has an agenda throughout the book but it's for a reason and she stays strong to those beliefs even though she does feel guilty.

I adored this book and would highly recommend this. Loved loved loved it!!!

SPOILERS.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. To be honest, I was expecting loads of sex given Leonidas' track record. There would have been lots of sex if Rosalyn had been receptive to him, but that wasn't the story. She's after the prince's blood and he's after a mate. That made for an interesting dynamic since Rosalyn was determined not to get close to him. She wants his blood and to get out.

Leonidas was ridiculously sweet in this story. He knew Rosalyn was trying to trap him and was lying to him from the beginning, but he gave her his blood willingly so she could save her mother from cancer. That was when Rosalyn caved and had sex with him because c'mon. How could she resist the sexy hot dragon shifter with a heart of gold? And you know what she did after that? She left him and said she wasn't coming back. My heart broke for Leonidas. He was ready to give up, but he couldn't stop thinking about her.

The ending was especially heartbreaking. Leonidas ended up saving Rosalyn and her mom time and time again, and so she offered to have his dragonling because she cares about him. But she doesn't love him. It was too late for Leonidas, though. He lost his heart to her in that moment and turned wyvern as was his curse. Luckily, his mind is still intact! As long as he's still him, he has a chance to win her heart, and that is something I'm dying to see.

I like Lucian and Arabella, but Leonidas and Rosalyn's characters speak to me more. I like that Rosalyn is dealing with a slow burning romance. I'm a sucker for sweet and slow. I'm only one book into their three book story and I'm totally invested! Onward I go.

I am adoring this series so far. I was very sad to see Ariana and Lucian's story end, but had high hopes for the rest of the series. It took me a bit longer to get into this book than the previous ones, but once I was in, I was hooked. Alisa Woods did not disappoint with the fourth installment of the Fallen Immortals series and I have the feeling that Rosalyn and Leonidas' story is only going to get better. The one thing that I was disappointed about had to do with the narration. While both Noelle Bridges and Roger Wayne do well in their narration and I can completely understand changing narrators for the new set of protagonists, I don't like how a couple of the characters' names are being pronounced differently. First is Lucian's right-hand dragon, whose name I am not entirely certain how to spell (as I have only listened to the Audible versions and never read the actual text). The first three books pronounced it something like Kinney whereas in this book it sounds more like Zinaid. The other character's name that is being pronounced differently is Erelah. The first three book pronounce it somewhere along the lines of Arella and this book pronounces it more like Erila. I'm not so sure this the fault of the narrators though. I believe it is something the director or producer or someone else involved in the creation of the audio versions of the books should've caught. Overall, however, I am still in love with this series and plan to read it through the end.

3.5/5 stars. I had low expectations for this book. After the third one ended on a downer for me, I expected this to be a repetition of the first book in the series, just with different characters. Lucian, Leonidas and Leksander all seemed very different to me in the first book, but now I’m reading from Leonidas’ POV he seems just like Lucian, but with slightly different problems and worries. And Rosalyn is basically a carbon copy of Arabella, but a witch. I feel as though these characters’ stories could have been turned into so much more, they could have been developed more, and the characters themselves could have been more fleshed out, but they were all just either: hot dragon, or sort of badass curvy girl. I liked the introduction of witches, however, and loved the descriptions of Rosalyn and her mother’s shop, and again did enjoy Rosalyn’s spunkiness at the beginning, but am expecting it to all completely vanish after she inevitably mates with Leonidas, just as it did with Arabella. Again, a fun, hot and quick read, but too much like the first book to be really enjoyable.

The House of Smoke just found out that not only the Crowned Prince Lucian had to find True Love and sire a dragonling to fulfill the treaty, but because he and his brothers are triplets they must also do so.....

Leonidas Smoke the bad boy who always loved them and left them has to find a human that will fall in love with him and have a dragonling, just as long as he doesn't fall in love in the process. You see when he was a strapping young dragon he broke a witches heart who cursed him for it, he cannot fall in love lest he turn into a wayvren. So when his brothers use a dating app to find him a suitable mate, he smells the witch among them and who better to fulfill his quest than a witch he will never fall in love with a witch!

How will this plan workout for Leonidas, will he succumb to the little witches' charms, or will he be able to fulfill his duty without falling for her?

Good Start, But Leaves Hanging

The story is good and the character development is satisfying. Having read the prequel, I knew more about Leonaides going into the story.

While the book ends with some plot resolution, it leaves you with a definitely unfinished story.

I found the female protagonist’s character to be inconsistent. One moment strong and planning and the next making out of character mistakes.

Overall, it was a good story and I look forward to reading the next book.

I’m Loving This Series!!

This is Leonidas’s story. He has to make a woman fall in love with him and have his dragonling, but unlike Lucian, his is trickier because he was cursed by a witch years ago and if he fell in love with a woman he would become a Wyvern. Rosalyn, a witch, may just be the one to worm her way into his heart, unknowing what it will do to him. What will happen to them?

I didn’t think I’d enjoy this one as much as Lucian’s story, but so far I’m loving it! These sexy dragon royalty shifters/fae are easy to love!!!

I received an advanced review copy from the author for a fair and honest review.

Wow!! I didn't see that coming or at least not so soon!!

Leonidias is so different than I thought. Now with his playboy ways pushed away, he's actually quite funny and a little ornery.

And the witches are back!!! I love the witches :)

I think there are a lot of twists and surprises to come in this series and I can't wait!!

Omg this series is just amazing. This story picks up from book 3, but now centres on Leonidas’s story and what he needs to do to find a mate and fulfil the treaty but when a witch called Rosalyn walks in with her own agenda will she be able to get past her history to love a dragon whose cursed to never love another?
Great story, writing, plot, the characters are great, lots of angst, some nice love scenes, and an amazing WTH moment at the end, omg moving on to book 5.

In order for peace to prevail among the mortal and immortal worlds, the second brother must convince a woman of magic to fall in love with him and bear his child. All this has to occur without him losing his heart. This is the premise of this installment; which ends in another cliffhanger by the way. It is an interesting plot. For some reason, I find the characters lacking. Perhaps it will change in the next installment.

Very good

Ooh witches are evil and the fae are conniving. I'm missing Lucien and arrabelle but was interested in this arc. Not really feeling Roslyn tbh she is so hell bent on the coven that she is blinded to common sense. Let's see how this plays out

Cliffhanger Alert

This Fallen Immortals series is very good. Too bad it has to be a cliffhanger every time. Alisa Woods writing style is great. I really think I'm done with this series though, too bad.
