Rate this book
Malaya Ipswich is stuck in a marriage that she describes as pure hell. Her husband, Trent, is nothing short of a man whore, and he shows no compassion to his wife or devotion to their marriage. After years of contemplating a divorce, Malaya is swept off of her feet by a young, sexy thug. Oblivious to the fact that this thug has a motive of his own, she is caught up in a deadly love triangle. She soon learns that the grass is not greener on the other side, and no one is really who they say they are.

Javon Sanders is a young goon with a deadly past that catches up with him when he is charged with multiple crimes. Being the con artist that he is known to be, he weasels himself into his lawyer’s life with no good intentions. This book was so crazy. Yes, it was predictable but I just couldn't stop reading. I wanted to root for Malaya, but she did some crazy things that I just couldn't get behind. I had a slight issue with the way this book was written. The vernacular constantly changed, I wanted to identify it as "code-switching" but at times I felt like the author was trying too hard. I wanted to enjoy the book more, but I feel like the vernacular took me out of the story sometimes. I enjoyed the story as a whole.

So this is my first read by this author and I didn't think I would like it by the way it started off, but boy did it rope me in quickly. Malaya is a treacherous attorney and person in a lot of respects. I wasn't sure if I was ever actually rooting for her to get what she was after or not, but the plot twists were good enough that I was kept guessing through much of the book, even though I predicted some aspects of it. It was unexpectedly Really good. Raunchy, Realistically Raw and Riveting.

This book was horrible! No character development at all. The storyline was everywhere, with no type of flow. None of the main characters was held responsible for their actions. Malaya was so smart, yet dumber than a box of rocks.
Oh the degrading and over usage of the word faggot! Just terrible!
Now I’ve read a book by this author before and it was good. This book here the author drop then pen.

The homophobia and dramatics in this book made it almost unbearable. All of the characters were self sabotaging and self centered.

This was not it for me at all. There was no need for homophobic slurs to be used that many times, we got it the first time. And the whole story was just a jumbled and messy. Not what i expected at all.

I really enjoyed Falling for My Side Dude. It is amazing how someone can have such a successful relationship and seem so smart and do the craziest things.
Malaya is a lawyers and in a marriage that she is not happy in. She wanted to get out of the marriage but not give her husband everything.
She met a young man who hired her as her lawyer and she fell for him. They conspired on getting rid of the husband and it didn't turn out how they thought it would.

This definitely was not what I was expecting. i was expecting the lead to fall for her side piece-not his bedroom skills. She fell in love with an opportunity to use someone to remove a thorn in her side. The title implies she fell in love with her side piece….
The story was riddled with inconsistencies whether it be timeline or statements the characters made about themselves or in reference to a situation. How can a character be in the hospital and at a hotel for you to bump into them at the same time. Are you a tough, educated, calculating criminal attorney or are you a low budget, neck swiveling “hood rat”? Are you the king of the streets or are you naïve as newcomer to the game that can’t spot a setup? The timeline was pretty fluid as well as the personality of the characters. The mentality of the leads in this book was very sophomoric in such a way that you immediately could not take the description of “high powered criminal lawyer and street king” seriously. These things coupled with the grammatical errors and lack of structure made for a difficult read. I’m sure the author is talented. I think I will try one of her other works. This story didn’t “gel”.

WOW! This is a true page turning. I didn't think this would be a book I would read, until a friend that doesn't read couldn't be it down. This book will keep you on the edge of your sit from beginning to the end. It's a must read. I will be watching this author from now on.
