OK, I admit a certain strong bias in this one -- I took one of the photos -- the one with Red standing up in the stands at Disch-Falk Field in Austin, so it is a favorite book. And, I have known Red since 1974, so, yeah, don't just take my word for it.

But if you want to know about the most overlooked part of baseball -- scouting -- read this one. It's an education.
