Sometimes sparks fly, but they don’t catch fire. Brett Miller is the one that got away from Addison Gray—the chiseled, muscular, dangerous boy who would show up at her window in the middle of the night and take her to places she never thought she could go.
They were this close to a relationship like history has never seen...until he disappeared, taking his wicked half-smile and hot tattooed body somewhere she couldn’t follow.
Ten years later? He's back in town, and flames are ready to ignite. From the moment Brett sets foot in his hometown, Addison is front and center: sexy, independent, and just as captivating as the day he left.
Brett is still every inch the bad boy he used to be, only with an extra edge from his time in the service.
The more she sees, the more she wants...even if he's all wrong for her. Addison has to choose: give him one more chance and risk another searing heartbreak, or let him go—for good.
This is a full-length standalone bad boy romance with steamy scenes, adult language, and no cliffhanger.

Never His by Amelia Wilde
Brett Miller is the one that got away, so the last person Addison Gray expects to see on a night out... is him, eight years later. From the moment she sees him it's like he never left and broke her heart. The chemistry, the feelings, the heat between them is as intense as it always was, but there's something different about him. Even if the bad boy is all wrong for her, she can't help but fall for him, again. Addison must choose, give him one more chance and risk another heartbreak, or let him go for good.
I loved this book, it was such a awesome read, intense and full of heat. I loved the storyline, which was intriguing and heartwarming. You can't help but love the characters, who are filled with regret, sorrow, and love. It's an emotional read, which pulls at your heartstrings. Such a sweet and captivating read. I loved it!
Second chance? They were never a couple in high school, they were each other's 'booty call's but he still dated other girls while he screwed her off to the side, is he cheated on his gf's. After one magical summer of friends with benefits she decided to say certain words but he disappeared and his social media sites where blocked and his phone was disconnected, Addison took it to heart that he left because of her and has had terrible luck with men since.
10 years later, Brett is back in town and had seen and done a lot during the decade, but he back and has mixed feelings coming back and if he might or might not see Addison again. Will history repeat or will Brett be able to take Addison on as more then a friend with benefit....
I read this from start to finish and I still didn't feel a connection to bleeding me into the story.
What a story!!! You will be drawn in and capitative with these characters.. You will feel like you know them, chearing them on or yelling at them!! Your emotions will be happy and sad... It makes you believe in second chances! LOVED!!!!
Find it unrealistic that after 10 years one would just pick up after like nothing ever happened. I don't get his excuse. I understand where he was coming from but I didn't think it was that good of an excuse. Could have been more.
Pretty awful. This includes all of the characters, the storyline, the grammar and everything else. I'm very confused as to how it got so many great reviews. This is the first time that I quit a boom at 70%
Never His: A Second Chance Romance (Second Chances Book 1) by Amelia Wilde 4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed reading about Brett and Addison, both characters are charming and stubborn. The story is most heartwarming and who doesn't love it when you get a second chance on love.
High school friends that had a beautiful end of the summer escapade, Addison thought it was beautiful but the next day Brett is gone. Heartbroken that he didn't even call her she eventually goes on to college and moves on with her life.
Brett didn't want to leave Addison but he felt that if he was to become someone he needed to leave. His father and hers both warned him not to drag her down with him. He ends up in the Air force as a pilot. Ten years go by and now he returns home.
Addison has never stopped thinking about Brett and Brett hasn't stop thinking about Addison the whole 10 years. Now that he is back she is gonna get the answers to why he left and boy oh boy does she give him an ear full.
This is a great story about love, there is sad, happy, angry and lust filled feeling throughout the whole story. Mature readers 18+.

Who doesn't love a second chance story? Brett Miller and Addison Gray have a history – 10 years ago things got hot, heavy but they weren't officially an item. Addison was sure something was going to happen, until Brett just disappeared without a word. I get that he felt the need to prove himself to everyone, but he could've at least said good bye to her. His character was frustrating (but then again, when aren't men frustrating?). He is so determined to prove that he's worth something that he almost forgets to live his life for himself. I'll be honest with you – I am not sure how Addison was so forgiving for Brett leaving out of the blue like he did. She is upset, of course, but she gets a partial explanation at best and then just moves on. Ten years is a long time, so maybe that's how she was mature enough to forgive so easily. Once she decides that he gets a second chance there is quite a roller coaster of emotions. The author keeps us guessing, wondering if this really will be a HEA ending.
Brett and Addison had an almost relationship the summer after high school and then one day Brett disappeared, leaving Addison to wonder what happened. 10 years later finds Addison and Brett back in their hometown. Addison is dealing with a break-up, but she's not as hurt about it as you would think and Brett is trying to figure out where he belongs after being discharged from the Air Force. The almost relationship is still on both their minds and when they see each other for the first time the sparks are still there. But both have changed in 10 years and figuring out how to manage a relationship now is going to take work. Brett moves into the house next door to Addison and soon becomes fixated on making the house perfect, forgetting everything around him. When mistakes are made on both sides they are going to have to overcome their insecurities and pasts to get the future they want together. I loved the latest from Amelia Wilde! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book I have read of Amelia Wilde and it won't be the last. The first one was 'Always His Bad Girl' in 'Wicked Ways' collection.
I love the story between Addison & Brett. A second chance at a relationship with your soulmate that you didn't realize was the one until you walked away. Will Brett and Addison be able to work through their issues and will Addison be able to forgive Brett for walking away without warning 10 years ago?
The way Amelia writes you feel like you know the main characters personally and it feels wonderful when they get their hea.

Brett and Addison were together in high school.and planning a future until a talk one night with his father took Brett on a different path that would ultimately lead him away from Addison. Fresh out of the air force Brett returns to his hometown and runs back into Addison one night, they talk and begin to resume a relationship, but when old fears begin to creep back in for Brett will he jepordize his second chance with Addison. This book was very engaging and I kept having questions and wanted to see what happened next with this couple so it just kept me turning page after page. A good second chance story worth your time to read.
Brett ghosts Addison without a word out of nowhere. He is unable to be found. Several years later, she runs into him again. All the feelings, memories and pain come rushing back. She still craves him. Should she give him a second chance? Will she find happily ever after or heartbreak again? This is a beautifully written second chance romance filled with emotion, intrigue and loads of steam. I highly recommend this read and Amelia Wilde. She never fails to deliver a fantastic read.
Never His is a beautifully written secind chance story of hope, trust, heartbreak, guilt, forgiveness, regret, heart-stopping emotions, and love. Great story-line and well-developed characters. You get pulled into the story at the beginning and are kepted captivated until the very end.

*** I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book*** Not really a second chance book, but more first chance as real lovers, second chance as friends book. Brett and Addison are well written characters, compelling, and have just the right amount of "baggage". The story is a well paced, fast, easy read with the kind of ending you expect for these 2. Great job Amelia Wilde
He left without a word and broke her heart. Now he is back. Do they get a second chance?
I enjoyed the story. It is a second chance at love. They had an interesting teenage relationship with a lot of flirtation until he disappeared. The attraction has never died. She has to choose to take a risk or continue to wonder what might have happened.
I found myself not reading because it was kinda boring. Could not relate to any of it. He was supposed to be in love with her when they were in high school but he had girlfriends and she was his side piece. Eh. And now he’s acting all weird on her.
Addison and Brett's story is a real page-turner, one that you can't put down until you've read the last page. The two have to go through so much to find their happily ever after that my head was spinning, and I was dying on the edge of my seat.
Once again, Amelia Wilde has created a stunning love story that appeals to your senses and emotions. With her words, she is able to transport you into her world of young love that's everlasting.
The characters are rich with emotional baggage, yet tugs at your heart strings due to doubts that Brett and Addison have, but can't seem to talk about what's bothering them. The story itself is fueled by unspoken love that each had for one another 10 years earlier. Now back in the same town will they reunite or just pass each other by?
I recommend this for readers who loves love stories. So get the book and then you can decide!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh, so much wasted time due to a very big misunderstanding I think. So sad. Brett Miller and Addison Gray seemed so together in school, yet never boyfriend and girlfriend. Brett was made to feel "not good enough" by his father so he left town. They were young and never really explained to each other how they really felt except the sexual attraction. Now Brett is back. Old fears raise its ugly head and although the attraction is there, they need to face these demons. Brett was like a man on a mission with the house and I wished he would just open up and say what he wants. A brilliant story and so glad they finally said the right thing. Loved it.

This book is an absolute gem! The book maybe fiction, but the storyline can be related to true-life situations and you will want to keep reading to find out what happened. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. What moves me is just how the author was able to make their situation seem credible and realistic—their hurts, ambivalence, etc. This is the first time I read a book by this author, Amelia Wilde, but I assure you, it will not be the last. I loved the characters of Brett Miller and Addison Gray. This is a story of second changes when Brett returns to his hometown after being gone for ten years. Brett and Addison saw a lot of each other in high school as friends, but never dated or considered an item. Then all of a sudden without any word, Brett is gone—for 10 years—and Addison was heartbroken. After college, Addison moves on with her life but later returns to her hometown. When Brett returns to his hometown after being gone for ten years in the Air Force as a pilot, he sees Addison again, he finds himself quite attracted to Addison and the feeling is mutual with some sizzling chemistry. The sex scenes were steamy and Brett was swoon worthy. I was very enthralled by the story, and this book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
Brett left home abruptly ten years ago, cutting off all contact with everyone, including his father and Addison, the girl he was crazy about. For me, Brett's motivation for some actions is questionable. He seems really conflicted about returning home and the possibility of seeing Addison again, although it's clear he bitterly regrets leaving her the way he did. It's obvious his feelings for her haven't changed. Brett seems like he is carrying a lot of demons around with him, but they seem to mostly be of his own making. Read the book and you will understand what I mean.
I understand why Addison got involved with Brett again even though he hurt her so badly in the past. It's apparent that she has deep feelings for him. They have a great passion for each other. I liked both of these characters and really rooted for them to find happiness together. I always enjoy Amelia Wilde's stories. I think she's a great writer and despite my feelings about Brett's motivations, I liked this book a lot.

Another great story from Amelia Wilde! Addison and Brett both knew that there was an searing connection between them as teenagers, and fell hard for each other, they were never technically a couple. But just when Addi thought that they were going to take that next step and officially be together, Brett felt he was unworthy of her love and took off, completely disappearing from her life. Addison never got over Brett, and compared every other guy in her life to the one that ditched her without an explanation. But 10 years later, not only does Brett return to town, but ends up buying the house next door to hers.
From there, this story is a roller coaster ride of can she forgive him, why he feels that he needs to prove a point, misunderstandings between both Addi/Brett and Brett/his dad.... and ultimately, forgiveness and understanding. I love a good second chance romance with a HEA, and Never His did not disappoint!

Second chance at love sometimes has a difficult, thorny path to work through to get to peace and happiness. Such was the case for Addison and Brett. Teenage romanticism led Addison to pin all her hopes, dreams and fantasies on Brett, a friend that awakened her wild side, tempting her to slip around and defy her parents rules. Brett, however was a brooding, troubled teen, inexperienced in understanding his feelings beyond his sexual urges. After graduation, he makes a decision to disappear without warning or goodbyes. When life experiences draws him back home after ten years, he finds himself realizing some facts about his immaturity, misperceptions and learns what is truly of value. Observing the evolution of Brett's character along with Addison's challenge to trust him again with her heart is an interesting exercise in witnessing the growth of human relationships. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Four stars.
This is a wonderful, intriguing and heartwarming book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: a feisty independent hardworking woman (Addison Grey), a man who has come back to a small town that he left 10yrs ago (Brett Miller), drama, a chance meeting, memories, shock, text messages, breakfast, accusations, a mistake, feeling alone, awkward discovery, explanations, attractions, distractions, distant, breaking up, numbness, heartbroken, confrontation, realization, regrets, emotional feelings, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters are quite well developed with emotional feelings according to the situation they find themselves in. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written Second Chance Romance with a HEA.
It seems there's always that one guy from school that stands out and you remember him the most. That's how it is for Addison (Addi) but her feelings for Brett go a lot further even if they never officially dated. Brett and Addi had a secret relationship during High School but everyone knew they were a couple. Then after high school Brett disappears not telling anyone where he was going, breaking Addi's heart.
Ten years later Brett returns to the small town he grew up in where everyone knows everyone and he'd always thought those who stayed just stayed because they lacked ambition or drive to be successful.
Now that Brett is back, can Addi forgive him for leaving her behind? Hat happens if Brett becomes her next door neighbor? You've got to read to find out!!
Addison and Brett were ready to start a relationship at the end of HS but Brett just left a broken hearted Addison behind. 10 yrs later and he still thinks of Addison and regrets leaving. Back from the Air Force he goes back home and doesn't think he will see Addison. When they see each other they both feel the connection like they did all those years ago but for Addison she is still hurt. Will Brett be able to finally get Addison? I like second chance romance and liked reading Addi & Brett's story. You know when 2 people just fit and they do but memories of the past still haunts Addi. I was rooting from them to just lay it all out and get over the hurt so they could be together. Good story with good characters.
