In the year 2018 a bright star appeared near Earth. Humanity as a whole was briefly introduced to a race of beings far beyond their understanding. During that brief interaction a proclamation was made, Defeat the Grand Emissary or become the eternal slaves of those who had arrived at Earth. The only chance for victory was for people all across the globe to make a choice. When prompted to become a champion and a play a bizarre game of life or death they could choose yes or no. Those who chose no, went about their lives afterward. All memory of the event was lost despite the fact that their very existence as a free species hung by a single thread. Will those who said yes manage to survive the horror of the game and become strong enough to defeat the Grand Emissary. Can one of them become... The Galactic Fist of Legend. Also, it's a comedy with significant parody elements. Pretty obvious, right? This litrpg story takes place in a setting that involves hopping between worlds. One moment the protagonist is fighting zombies, and the next he is facing down platform hopping challenges in a world where a single misstep could send him plummeting down through what appears to be an endless sky. Part of a multiverse project known as Project Scott, it features a main protagonist who's name is similar across multiple books but who is not the exact same character each time. It is a labor of love, and of goofy humor. Other stories in the project include Freelance Saga, Galataea Crystallim, and Origin ARS.
Absolutely loved this fun LitRPG book! Extremely well written story with a MC whose journey to survival in a post-apocalyptic game like world I loved every moment of.
I can honestly say that I really like the guy! There is some great humor mixed in as well that had me chuckling out loud as I read. Highly recommended to all LitRPG fans, bring on book 2!!!
It's like The Walking Dead + an amazing game world. A teenager who accepts a strange offer to defeat a alien champion or have Earth destroyed. Character is then transported into a game world with his goal is to level up and gain skills/powers to take on the alien game champion of unknown level. Starts on a zombie game world where death equals actual death. Player can find portals that transport him to other game worlds that are ripoff versions of popular video games like Metroid and Mario. Book is funny and full of action and wit. Armed with crappy gear and years of gaming knowledge the player starts his adventure here.
There are a few minor mistakes in this book, but it is highly entertaining. Warning this author tends to turn his series into a teenage boys sexual fantasy. The action and comedy tend to stay good though.
Was browsing Facebook when someone recommended a different series by scottie. I hadn't heard of him but as a fan of the genre and a short message from the author himself, I decided to check it out. Wow! Quite refreshing really. There were bits where I rolled my eyes but honestly I think it was meant to make me do that. This story both takes you in to its darkness but also doesn't take it self seriously.
Give it a go peeps, you won't be disappointed or if you are, you have no sense of humour!
While the first book is really solid, the series kind of goes down hill for a simple reason. At least for me. The plot isn't original, but that's not the problem. It turns into a damn harem series. I'm not prude by any stretch , but this genre gets to be annoying after a while. Instead of plot, you get high school drama bs. Will probably stop after 4th book. If this is your type of book, you found another.
I read it on RoyalRoadLegends when it was just a concept... and then every edit since and some more than once. This final book is polished, well written, and professional. Scottie pulled out the stops and delivered with this one. Worth the cup of coffee pricing.
I have not been disappointed by Scottie Futch yet. This is a great new beginning to a series. I’m glad there are more books already out, as I’m eager to jump into the next one. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Buy this book. Hell, buy all of this author’s books. They are 100% worth the money.
Stayed up all night reading this book. I read a lot of Litrpg and think that this is one of the better ones I've read in a while. Very similar beginning as Daniel Schinhofen's Apocalypse Gates - turns out to be just as good even when the books diverge in later chapters.
I kept seeing this book and hearing about it in various places on the net. I'm glad that I finally got around to reading it. Silly and exciting mix of various game types. Super zombie stomp power. I had fun and want to ride it again. Good job Scottie Futch!
Scottie Futch takes us on a ride in his retro parody style offering Galactic First of Legend. In this iteration of the Scottie verse out intrepid hero is cast into a mix of older game tropes.
Scott is slowly gaining the power to save Earth ... by fighting zombies in an alternate reality. It works better than that sounds. Not great, but an enjoyable time.
