THE CONSPIRACY OF MANKIND'S ORIGINS GOES DEEP.
Kalian Gaines and the remains of humanity are forced to forge a new beginning in a galaxy that doesn't want them. After destruction was wrought across the Conclave, those taking refuge aboard the Gommarian are simply dangerous.
After a Conclave excavation unearths an object that predates even their ancient society, Kalian Gaines and Li'ara Ducarté are requested to investigate. Perilous is their path, however, taking them deeper into the conspiracy of their origins.
Meanwhile, Roland North has escaped the confines of the Gommarian and taken up the life of a bounty hunter, causing more trouble for both the Conclave and humanity. He must be tracked down before he does something they'll all regret.
Set on different paths, these few will be thrown into the tempest of machinations that began long before humanity learned to walk.
TEMPEST CONTINUES THIS UNMISSABLE GALAXY-SPANNING EPIC SERIES.

‘This is staggeringly good.’ – Kindle customer
‘This series is going to be at the top of my re-read list for the foreseeable future.’ – Jemma R – Amazon customer
Philip started his career as an emergency nurse and began writing the books he’d want to read as a hobby between shifts.
He published his first novel in 2016, and soon began his epic fantasy series, The Echoes Saga which went straight into the Amazon bestsellers list in 4 countries.
Now one of the best-selling indie authors worldwide, Philip lives in Manchester, England with his wife and two young children and is hoping this is just the beginning.
Now I'm not usually a fan of this genre however I absolutely love the story and characters. I even got a little panicky when I finished book 2 and wasn't sure if 3 was available yet. To my great relief it was and I'm starting it after the next sentence. Thank you for giving your passion for writing to me and anyone lucky enough to find these books and hopefully thoroughly enjoy as much as me. Keep writing.
Phew, this book was intense...ly awesome! This is easily becoming my favorite sci-fi collection, can't wait to plunge into heretic. Keep up the good work, Phillip.
Having read all of the ‘Echoes’ saga. I picked up ‘Intrinsic’ (it was gathering dust in my virtual library) and couldn’t remember reading it, so I read it. It seemed familiar in places but I couldn’t remember the story, so I must have read it a long time ago, it was enjoyable and, for the authors first book amazing.
Tempest is better written and one can feel Mr Quaintrell improving. More importantly the story is good, a very 3 dimensional space opera with some excellent, twists, surprises and characters and a few fairly large mysteries to be resolved. I am eagerly looking forward to book #3 of the Terran Cycle.
Learning his new powers allows our hero to save other races and humanity.
New characters like the bounty Hunter add excitement to the violence required to defeat the unknown alien threat. Love and loss complicate our hero's actions. He lives to fight another day as the story grows.
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Fast paced (seriously fast), good characters and very hard to put down. Better than Book 1 in my opinion and now on to #3!
If you enjoyed this sries take a look at The World Walker Series by Ian W. Sainsbury
Loved this book but omgosh sit up straight and give it your full attention. Its plot is complicated but great characters and writing. Really do recommend for anyone who likes a good read, great sci fi book.
Absolutely great sci-fi book. It doesn't drag with unnecessary dialogue. Although the names and species gets getting used to. I wish the two main girl characters wasn't killed off. So sad.
Really enjoyed this second installment, Quaintrell really knows how to pack in a full storyline, full of excitement and suspense and doesn't hold back on his results. The characters are developing nicely and I can't wait to get on to the third book!
Intrinsic was an Amazon recommendation and it pulled me in. Tempest was even better and I’m well and truly hooked. Good story, well told. A good action/exposition ratio. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
The first novel in the Terran Cycle, 'Intrinsic', was a wonderful surprise for me. This one is even better, expanding the limits of the space-opera genre with much more than excellently-written action sequences and lots of xenomorph aliens. Highly recommended.
Interesting concept and continuation of the story. Dragged in places around the middle of the book but overall nice pacing. Nothing mind blowing or original though
Characters, plot, thrills, action, description and overall story first rate. Philip has a way with words.. Loved it and book 1. Can't wait for the next instalment..
Its not often I read a book and think it would make an amazing film. The last time I thought that was reading the martian, and look what happened there. I love the premise of the series and the story telling is on point. Can't wait for more!
I have read two in the series so far back to back and found them a compelling page turner. Intricate characters you will care about in a story line of roots & survival of the human race across the galaxy and the challenges they face. The thought given & detail of the story line, people, worlds and technology really take you on the journey by making you feel like your there. Great work Philip!
