I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!

This last book (#6) in the Dulcie I'Neill story was more a relief than anything. I was disappointed in the last 2 books, but I think it was because the series seemed to drag on, and the endings of each book ended so abruptly to [try to] hold the reader in suspense- I find this strategy to be shortchanging the reader of their money by not giving us a complete stand-alone book. The writing is not very complex, for example, many writers that have such a long-running series will have sub plots and layers of secondary storylines; each book usually carries over the main ploy, but resolves smaller storylines in each book- not so here, its just one rambling story. The last book contains many of the things I like about the series: witty writing, funny dialog, over the top situations; but nothing new. When something outrageous happens in the final book, its brushed off as fairy/loki magic- this is the author taking an easy way out of building a satisfying explanation. It was nice to have a completion to the story, and I was glad its over. I purchased and enjoyed the Dulcie series, but the lack of character and story complexity will prevent me from bothering with the other series' unless they are in my local library.

*note Please read the series from the start, this is an amazing series you will fall in love with at first sight. Trust Me I did* So here you go about the book that is to Die for for!

And the ultimate price that must be paid.

So I'm reading and I find myself getting mad at Bram yup, I said Bram! Now all the cards are on the table with him and Dulcie. It breaks my heart this is the last book for them all I have fallen in love with all of them. I love how strong Dulcie is, I wish I could be that strong. The last three chapters grab the tissues you will need them badly. Again Amazing book and a great ending to the series even though I'm heart broken about it :(
Damn it H.P. you did it again I cried not once but three times. I loved the ending of the book/series But there should be a Wedding Book then a Baby book just some ideas I'm throwing out there.

I'm so sad that this series is over, but Mallory does a great job with her conclusion to an amazing Urban Fantasy series! Can't wait to dive into her new ones! :)

I have been a huge fan of HP Mallory's work since I first found her books. I can usually devour them in a day or two and then had to sit on my hands in impatient anticipation of the next book in the series. Now, there will be no more waiting. Maybe that is why it took me so much longer to finish the book, I am not sure. It took me over a week to finish reading this one. Maybe I was not ready to say goodbye.

Though the conclusion to the series had much more action, what with the battle for control of the Netherworld coming to a close, it just felt like it moved a little slower. The story is well written and the characters you love are all there, Dia, Sam, Trey, Dulcie and Knight, the characters you aren't sure about like Quill and Bram, and the character you cannot help hating, Melchior. Then, there is the introduction of new characters.

I felt a little...sad at the masquerade ball scenes, though, because you see everything blossoming between some of the characters, them finding their happily ever after, and then the realization hits that you aren't going to get to see how it plays out, because the story is over.

Ms. Mallory is a skilled story teller who draws you in and leaves you gasping for more. The ....love scenes.... are hot and steamy and leave you panting for breath.

If you love a good paranormal romance with a bit of an adult content to it (This story is definitely rated steamier than PG13, for sure), then this series is the one for you.

One word, bittersweet. The last Dulcie book made me extremely mournful and ecstatic, at the same time. There were some events that made me cry and others, of course, that made me laugh out loud. Dulcie was still the same bad ass fairy, but she seemed to be a little more content and confident in who she is. I am glad that she can finally be happy. Knight seems to be in his element in battle, and his love for Dulcie is transparent enough, that it would make even the unromantic swoon. Bram is still Bram. I was a little disappointed with his story, but I understand he has to remain a mystery. Quill deserves to be happy, too, and I'm glad he was the good guy we all knew he could be. I will miss all of these characters (Sam and Dia, too), but I am thrilled with the way their story ended. Thank you, H.P.!

Well I'm quite sure that others are with me to see the Dulcie Series end. But what an ending it was. The story was great and didn't end quite the way I thought it would. Thanks H.P. for such a great series and keeping me on my toes reading this great series.
Now this book was absolutely wonderful not know what Duclie and Knightley were heading to next and if Bram was really going soft or just being "Bram". At times it made me laugh out loud and others I was about to cry. All in all a roller coaster ride I absolutely loved!!

I was almost afraid to start this one. It wasn't getting the greatest reviews, and the last book didn't seem up to par. It started out a little slow, but then I thought it got surprisingly good. I thought she did a great job of wrapping up this series. I will definitely miss these characters, especially the bad boy Vampire Bram!! I couldn't help but love him! I definitely feel it was time for the series to end, but thought it was nicely done!

I thought it was a good ending to a fun series. However I did feel somethings were left unfinished. Explanations of Vander's abilities, what was done to honor Trey (there should of done something done between the friends for him), and I didn't like how Quill and Christina seemed to just get together and Quill got a job at the ANC. He really screwed things up and even though he sided with them in the end,I felt he benefitted more than he should have. All in all I enjoyed it.

Loved it! Dulcie is my fav character of h.p.'s and it is bittersweet. I am thrilled by the way she ended the series, but I am sad to see them go! Maybe H.P. can do a spin off in the same world. Dulcie's life gets tied neatly in the end but there were enough twists and turns to keep one guessing through out the completion. Plus a little naught bits thrown in for fun with our fav Vamp and Loki

A bit sexier than HP's usual writing-bit not a complaint! This book keeps you reading! I was at the edge of my seat-alternating between laughter, tears and gasps!!! Great ending to a wonderful series!

I found H.P. Mallory about six months ago and have eagerly awaited all of the books in her Dulcie O'Neil series as well as her Jolie Wilkins series. These books are fun, quick reads that I enjoy. This last book in the Dulcie O'Neil series was a great wrap up for the whole lot. I liked it very much.

Although I LOVE this HP series, this book felt a little rushed. I felt like things were just pulled together for the sake of finishing the series. I still love her writing though and I am sad to see Dulcie and the crew go (tear).

Kept my interest so far...

The 4 stars and this review are for the series as a whole up to this point. The first couple of books are good but I'm used to a little more action and the first part of the series lacked action. It was more of a mystery/detective type of story at first but still kept my interest. The set up with the 2 world's in which the story plays out was interesting although not really unique as I've read a few other series with that type of set up. But again, enough to keep me turning pages. Further into the series the storyline became more interesting and filled with a little more action. The relationships between Dulcie and Knight, Dulcie and Bram and Dulcie and Quill made the storyline more interesting as with all books a little sexy romance helps. However, I think it was in book 4 where I started to become frustrated with Dulcie's character and in book 5 I was beyond frustrated and wasn't sure I wanted to continue reading. I read for fun not frustration. It's a big pet peeve when the author makes their main character stupid and her character became became an idiot on numerous occasions. As a reader I want to like the main characters especially if they're supposed to be a heroine in the story but Dulcie only thought herself to be a heroine - In reality she was anything but! She often refers to herself as being a tough and independent woman but she's really not very tough at all. Other than not being very bright she also became a selfish and stubborn hypocrite which made her pretty unlikable. Knight on the other hand is a very likable character so it was frustrating to see him be with such a woman. In book 6 her character was just over the top - She's so focused on her own wants and needs for the battle to come (don't want to give anything away here) she became a huge liability. The whole pre-battle scenario was infuriating! Dulcie thinks of herself as someone who can take of herself in all situations but it's already been proven on numerous occasions that she can't which puts everyone around her in more danger. She expects everyone else to listen to her and accept the things she says but she never does that with anyone else. I could go on and on but I think I've made my point. A main female character needs to be likable and so far Dulcie is not however, the other characters are and so far the storyline has kept my interest so I'm moving on to the next book. I only hope that Dulcie takes a long look in the mirror and wakes up to her true reality otherwise the next book may be my last in this series. I should add one last thing - If Dulcie had been more likable I would have given a 4 star rating up to this point.

The time has come for Dulcie and friends to declare war on her father in Netherworld. Plans are being made, some based on information provided by the vampire Bram. The question is whether he is actually trustworthy.
This book has some action, suspense, surprises and romance.
The characters are interesting as are the interactions.
There are questions on the reliability of some of the characters, questions about their plans.
This shows the growth of a lot of the characters.
This is not an easy book for me to review. I loved it but to really comment on things I would be giving away the story.
I found it a quick, easy read.
Definitely worth recommending.

Perfect

This edition of the series pulls together, and ties off all the questions and relationships of Dulice and the rest of the group. A must read for anybody who reads the series. Now I'm excited for the character's new journeys.

War

XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. Trey, buddy, friend. Why man? Dulcie and Knight go after her daddy dearest. On the verge of losing things take a surprise twist. It’s really not a surprise. But it was fun. Bram in the end is he friend or foe. The answer is in the last dance.

***Detailed Review***

The end of the Dulcie series. There isn’t much left to say about this series. Much like with the Jolie series, I feel it’s time for me to move on.

Dulcie and Knight, along with their friends face taking down her father, Melchior O’Neil. The book centers around their quick attack where they hope the power of surprise will be on their side.

I definitely felt the romance picked up between Dulcie and Knight. I enjoyed those together moments perhaps most of all as they knew their time together may be coming to an end if they didn’t win the war.

Of course, Bram was the swing vote and still to the very end you’re never quite sure whose side he’s on. I enjoyed Bram and Quill’s part in the series as well as in this last book. They really redeemed themselves as much as possible.

Dulcie’s determined to take her father down herself. I found it refreshing that Knight didn’t hold her back, but let his confidence and his love for her allow him to let her go after what she so strongly wanted.

Of course, nearly losing her might make him rethink that in the future. Dulcie’s out of body experience was a great addition. I loved getting to meet her mom and getting to see how much she was needed. That alone strengthens hers and Knight’s relationship.

Following the victory, the netherworld is taken back into the hands of good and new policies are put into place.

As for Dulcie and Knight, things only look up for them.

Today's review is on For Whom The Spell Tolls H.P. Mallory

Yet another of my favorite series has sadly come to an end. While some putter and fade away, the Dulcie O'Neil series is not one of them. I have enjoyed each and every book, and have fallen head over heels with all of the main players; especially a certain Loki. Every book has had it's own individuality while still maintaining the overall plot.

Dulcie and Knight have been through hell and back and have always found themselves back in each others arms, but For Whom The Spell Tolls has the toughest obstacles yet. Both of them, along with the rest of the Resistance are planning on taking down Dulcie's father once and for all, and they'll need all the help they can get. But not all allies are really allies at all, and some that are will pay the ultimate price.

I cried throughout most of the entire second half of this installment! Sometimes they were tears of joy while other times they were tears of sorrow. The only thing I can think of that I wasn't to happy about is that I would have at liked to have read that my favorite Loki to propose to a certain fairy.

The farther along I got in this series the less I liked it.
The relationship between Bram and Dulcie really irritates me. He always "have sex with me" and she's always "no" and it never stops. It's ridiculous to think that a vampire like Bram would even give a shit about a girl who rejects him repeatedly. Plus, the whole contract to go to the Netherworld is basically the saddest thing ever. I mean, this guy is supposed to be drop dead gorgeous, but he basically has to force her to take off her clothes in front of him just to get his kicks. Plus, there's the whole him practically raping her while she slept. Ugh. Every time she puts up with his crap I lose respect for her and every time he does these pathetic sexual advances I think that he must be the equivalent of a vampire nerd if he just can't get over Dulcie.
Now that they beat the Netherworld, I don't even think I'll read the 7th book...

This book is a tidy bow on the end of a fun series, but not quite the bang i was hoping it would go out on. Books 1 & 2 were so good because they had their own stand alone mystery in them, I really missed that in this book. All the same great characters, but it seemed to be missing some of the humor and banter of before. Bram was awesome. Dulcie didn't do anything totally stupid and immautre, so I guess we will call that character growth.

The begining of this book with Dulcie and Knight in a suburban was god-awfully forced and I actully set the book down for a couple of days... but I picked it up again and gave it go. It was good, not great, and surely not amazing. Funny thing is that I was more hooked on the sneak peak of hp's next book "Lily Harper" then anything in this one. Oh well, I guess i have that to look forward to now.

I don’t know if I just wasn't in the mood for this book or what because it just didn't excite me. It was a good book and good story don’t get me wrong and I highly suggest reading it. If you are invested in the series, it is a must read. If you haven't read the series, I highly suggest it. However, this particular book didn't set me on edge with the "what is going to happen next?" anticipation that the prior books did.

Bram kept me guessing throughout the book; even though I understood some of his strategy that Dulcie seemed to miss; I still couldn't decide good or bad.

The rest was simply finalizing the story and the series...which I am a little sad about. I would definitely be interested in a story in the same world featuring Bram; as there seems to be an opening there. *fingers crossed*
