From DIY(Do it yourself) remodeling, to tomboys, family recipes, wounds from dishonesty and a story including a marathon, each author tells a story that involves Thanksgiving. There is laughter, love, faith and hope in each story. I enjoyed reading these stories and look forward to researching each author and reading more from each one.

DIY Thanksgiving Love

When Valerie inherits her grandmother's home, she decides to renovate it. But, being a teacher, her finances are limited so she decides to do it on her own. At the hardware store, she mistakes Austin for an employee and asks for his help picking out cabinets. Intrigued by the woman who insists on installing the cabinets alone, Austin offers to help her. What began as a simple assumption, quickly turns into a lie of omission when Austin fails to set her straight on what he really does for a living. Will Valerie ever forgive Austin for deceiving her, or will she compare him to her own father forever and deny herself a chance at love?
This story was okay but I didn't find that the characters were developed enough. It did a good job of conveying Christian messages but was a little light on development and the romance was weak. The end was a bit too rushed. 3 stars.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

This story grabbed me from the first sentence. I loved the retrospective from childhood as little Charley Jane beat up Jake for calling her a girl. The chapter ends with Jake thinking he will never spend time with that kid again. The next chapter takes us to the present day, 18 years later, and Charley and Jake work together in construction. He's her best friend. Has been for as long as she can remember. But she's in love with him too. He's the only man she's ever loved. She would absolutely die if anyone ever found out. Charley's always been a tomboy. When one of the workers at the site assumes she's "not into guys" she storms off, feeling hurt. When a near-accident causes Charley to literally fall into Jake's arms, he realizes his best friend's sister isn't just a tomboy anymore and he begins to see her through new eyes. And Charley's friends decide to stage an intervention and give her a complete makeover. Will it work on the one man Charley loves? Or will it end in disaster? ...-"Plain old Charley Jane Roberts would never measure up to that, no matter how much makeup somebody slapped on her, or how high her heels might be. She would always be his friend, his buddy, his best employee. But she would never be a romantic interest."- ...
-"For a second or two, Jake forgot how to breathe. The woman before him was the farthest thing possible from the finishing carpenter who worked for him. She was nothing like his best friend’s little tag-along sister, who was also one of his best buddies. This stunning blonde goddess was a stranger."-
I love this author's writing style. It's mature, free of errors, fast-paced, fun, descriptive but not overly so, and very modern. I could picture everything in my head as I read. I loved it! A very enthusiastic 5 stars!

As with all anthologies, there are usually stories that you love, some that you like, and some you can do without. I've reviewed 2 of the stories here. I borrowed this on Kindle Unlimited. Overall, it's a nice collection of clean, Christian romances. Thank Heaven For Little Girls by Lisa Crane was, by far, my favourite from this set. The release of the collection was very timely for those who celebrate American Thanksgiving. Not all of the stories mention Thanksgiving specifically but the timing was right. I recommend this anthology.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls
Lisa Crane
5 stars!!
True to Lisa's style, this book is fun and entertaining while staying clean enough to let my teenage daughters read it. I read it in one evening because I just couldn't put it down. The ups and downs Charley Jane experiences while trying to show Jake she's more than just one of the guys, is both humorous and heart breaking. A complete short story that just leaves you feeling warm and happy at the end!

After writing this review I've had to readjust my rating. I skimmed 3 stories and found them not to my liking. Didn't like the storyline or one of the characters enough to read the story.

Turkey Trot
4 stars for the story , 1 star for the editing
I don't typically comment about editing, but this book had a lot of simple mistakes that easily should have been picked up by an editor. Double words, you instead of your that kind of stuff. Enough that it detracted from the story.

The storyline itself was cute and somewhat playful. Long distance relationships are hard and navigating them can be tricky. The neighbor lady sounds like a real hoot! At times the story gets a bit too descriptive and that can be boring (like describing removing the wrapper of a straw) and Gunnar's constant jealousy of Lake gets a bit old, but the heart of the story is very enjoyable.

This novella collection was wonderful. Leena Nelson Dooley's story DIY Thanksgiving Love was romantic and endearing, it kept me reading page after page. Lisa Crane's Thank Heaven for Little Girls was a great story about a tomboy who'd loved her best friend and boss for a long time. She did some things to attract his attention, they made me giggle because let's face it we've all been single and trying to find the perfect man. Anne Greene's Recipe for a Husband was a delightful story about how an unwelcome visitor can be just the thing to start a romance. Along with the story she included some delicious sounding recipes too. Kathy Wall's Never Again told of two hurting persons who learned to love and trust, I went along for the romantic ride as I read each page. Marilyn Eudaly's Turkey Trot delightful story featured two likeable characters that made you flip through the story quickly to see how it ended.

I am both one of the authors of this Thanksgiving novella collection and the publisher.

This collection takes the reader into the lives of five couples, and each of the stories is unique. I loved doing it.

THANK HEAVEN FOR LITTLE GIRLS by Lisa Crane is a new author to me. I found her story to cute, funny at times and a great read. A tomboy who has loved her best friend forever, and the best friend who thinks of her as a "little sister", who wishes that, especially, when you are in love with him. The antics are just plain, funny. Well worth the time to read.

RECIPE FOR A HUSBAND, set in Maine in1942 by Anne Greene is another great read in this collection. Another new author to me. The daughter of a lighthouse keeper, who recently loses her father seeks a husband to help her warn off sailors from the rugged Maine coast. An injured Australia enters her live expectedly, recuperating from a broken leg can he capture her heart? Can these two find their way? Ms. Greene also includes some recipes that sounds delicious, also. We all wish a recipe for love.
