I feel like a racquetball in a tense match. Getting batted about at intense speeds and making screeching twists and turns in milliseconds. What the ?? heck.

Sorry I just could not see the appeal here although the premise of the story would have been good.

NO!

I did not like The Promise at all. A spoiled rich woman, Claire, who doesn't get expensive, coorrective facial surgery. Seriously? Who would believe this? And then does not step up to help her families failing business when her mother falls ill. UGH! Kris Lake 'keeping house' for months on end in an empty house. Did she go out looking for other work or possible renovation jobs during that Grace period? Sorry but this none of this was believable.

I really liked this story. I have never read JM Dragon before so I didn't know what to expect. What I found was a refreshing story of 2 non perfect women. One damaged inside and one damaged outside. An accidental meeting with Melissa Grant, leads to an unexpected offer for Kris Lake, who just lost her job. Refurbishing a beach cottage, with the help of Melissa’s handicapped granddaughter.
Claire Tremont is at a crossroads after a near-death accident changed her life. Clair comes from money. Once a socialite always on the go, she now resorts to hiding from life. The story is about how they brought the best in each other and learned to love.

Overall I liked this booked but at the same time found it slightly frustrating. The indecision and imaturity of Claire and her mother and Fern and Jess was frustrating. I felt like things were missing at the end too. Is Jess going to find someone? What's the story behind Summer? What's going on with Fern? What was the deal with Jess's visit with Claire in New York?
