Ben Bishop's debut novel is not for those bereft of patience. That is not to say it lacks in energy or imagination - which it most certainly does not. But it is not one that can be picked up and put down lightly. It demands much from the reader. Ben's rich and at times labor-intensive prose bring Aghaux and it's inhabitants to life in a way that makes it difficult to leave the world behind when the final page comes. For a debut novel this is an impressive achievement and I look forward to enjoying more of his work in the future.
