I really enjoyed this book, the cast and setting was just so colourful and I had no problem imagining the scenes unfold as I was swept on the roller coaster ride that is Franki's life. Often had me laughing out loud and defiantly a book to add to any cozy mystery collection. Each book is great and you can buy them individually but why would you because once you have heard book one you will have to get the others in the series. The characters are so varied from little old grandmas to strippers to drag queens to priest but everyone is so much fun that you can't help but like them. It kind of makes me think of a a New Orleans version of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series but as I enjoyed this more I think Traci might be stealing some of Janet's fans.
Book 1 Limoncello yellow
You would think being a policewoman was hard work but that is a piece of cake compared to being a Pi, dealing with family, cheating boy friends, voodoo priestess, ex strippers for landlords and sea food. When a high end boutique owner is killed Franki starts to investigate but with plenty of suspects she might have her work cut out for her but then again growing up in an Italian family she is tougher than she looks.
Book 2 Prosecco pink
A CEO of a cosmetic company is found dead laying out on a bed where a previous death had occurred and Franki is hired to find out if it was suicide or murder. The historic plantation mansion has a checked past but could that have played a part in the death, especially as a pink diamond was supposed to have been hidden on the property. Then one of the maids is killed and Franki finds herself turning to a psychic for help and Franki's boyfriend Bradley turning to his secretary for support. Can Franki solve the case before there is another death or before she loses her boyfriend for good? Only if she can stay one step ahead of a crocodile, a ghost and a killer.
Book 3 Amaretto Amber
Turning 30 is bad enough but when you are the only daughter in an Italian family then you had better watch out, especially if you don't have a ring on your finger. Franki wishes that hiding out from her Grandmother and her friends in her apartment was the least of her worries but at the same time as dodging flying lemons she also has to go under cover and investigate a murder in a strip club. One of the girls has been murdered and Franki must tackle hexes, witches, snakes and policemen and a stolen necklace all while keeping her clothes on because someone is reporting her every move to the clients of her boyfriend and solving this case might just cost him his job.
I really like the narrator for this series and think she is part of the reason the characters are so colourful.

Limoncello Yellow:
A great introduction to a new series! Franki packs up and moves to New Orleans after her personal life takes a hit. Here she meets up with her friend, Veronica, and joins her PI firm. She is also introduced to the wonder that is Glenda!
Franki's first case is helping to clear her client's name, a man who is suspected of strangling a young woman with a scarf.
This series has it all - Relationship dramas, meddling family members, cases to solve, wacky neighbours and even a voodoo priestess!
This was a fun read and a great introduction to these characters.

Prosecco Pink:
Franki is back, this time to solve the mystery of a murder in a historic plantation home, that is rumoured to be haunted. She’s also suspicious of Bradley’s new secretary and does a little spying. You can guess how that will end up!
The characters in this series are great, her Nonna especially is hilarious. She never fails to make me laugh. This is another great book in the series.

Amaretto Amber:
In this book Franki is tasked with investigating a homicide at a strip club, with the help of Glenda, her out-there ex-stripper landlord.
Another stripper is murdered and the race is on to find the killer, before it happens a third time.
All your favourite characters are back in this one, with Franki’s hilarious Nonna again interfering in her relationship. Another great read!

Meh.. replace Frank Amato and the stories would be fine.

An acloholic main protagonist who won't stand up to her family doesn't have much appeal, so the books are a bit off-putting once the ongoing threads become apparent.

They're full of annoyingly repetitive situations:

- Franki is embarassed by her stripper-landlady's skimpy outfits
- Franki wakes up hungover
- Franki refuses to be open about anything with her boyfriend
- Franki wakes up hungover
- Franki's so-called "best-friend" is dismissive and overly-critical, tricks her into situations she'd rather not be in, and is generally a bitch to her, but Franki doesn't call her on it
- Franki wakes up hungover
- Franki is upset and embarrased by her parents' and grandmother's interfering and critical behaviour toward her, but won't risk upsetting them by calling them out on it either.
- Franki wakes up hungover and takes a while to remember how she got there
- Franki wakes up hungover

It's no wonder she's an alcoholic, given the crap she refuses to deal with. In fact, it's a wonder Franki has time to investigate any cases, since she spends so much time boringly lurching from one obviously avoidable personal disaster to another.... and waking up hungover.

I really can't say I'd recommend these books to anyone, although the narration is ate least well done.

Have to say, this is a must read (especially if you are an Italian, or have a lot of dealings with Italians). Traci has captured the Italian heritage, language, and personalities of the Italians to perfection! Loved the sense of humor and the relationship dynamics between the Grandmother/Mother/Daughter.

Story revolves around an ex-cop turned Private Investigator that "stumbles" her way thru each investigation. Love how Franki normally takes on two investigation "fronts" all while dealing with her family.

Again, this is a must read. Can't wait for the next installment!

I am hooked on the Frankie Amato Mysteries, the stories are so well written, entertaining and the mysteries keep you guessing till the very end. Each book just got better and better and kept me wanting more.  I had the audio book version of the first 3 books in this series and once I started listening I didn't want to stop. The narrator did a fantastic job of portraying each character and in making the story come to life. I really enjoyed listening to each book. I am definitely a fan and will be reading all the books in this series.

You don't have to be Italian to love these books but it doesn't hurt. Yes, we Italians have some strange superstitions but if you're a working P.I. it can be very difficult to separate home from work. Especially when your landlady is a former stripper. It all comes together in a fun, fast delightful read. Once you read one, you'll want them all.

What a delightful series! Come join PI Franki Amato as she investigates crime in New Orleans. As expected of this author, the writing is top-notch, the plot is tight and multi-layered, and the characters are often hilarious. I received these books free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.

What can I say about the Franki Amato box set....in single words...great, funny, smart, etc. Franki Amato is just like most girls, running away from her past, trying to make the most of her present, all while trying to figure out her future. When her past (her ex boyfriend) comes to a screeching halt, she makes her way to New Orleans to joins her best friend as a P.I. The cast of characters- Franki, Veronica (best friend), Glenda (ex-stripper Land Lady), Franki’s Nonna (grandmother), her Mamma, Dad, brother, and the rest of the characters, are extremely well written and multi layered. You can’t go wrong with Franki Amato mysteries, especially with New Orleans as the backdrop to the mayhem that ensues in all the books. This is the female version of MacGyver meets Raymond (From Everybody Loves Raymond). If you want a laugh-out-loud cozy mystery...this is your book!!

Not For Me

Didn't like it from the start. Deleting all from my Kindle. There might be a good mystery in one of Traci Andrighetti's books, but I have so many books by authors that I know aren't unnecessarily immature. I mean really, a cop with diarrhea, pants ripping off to be bare bottom spanked by a huge lady wrestler that was just sleeping with her boyfriend. All of this on page one. Wow!!!

Poor Franki

Love the series so far. I can definitely relate to how Frankie addresses stress, booze and food. With trying to solve murders while not ending up dead herself, family obligations, some boyfriend problems, and surrounded by her wacky landlord and friends, it's no wonder Frankie isn't a comatose zombie.

Franki Amato is a new police officer, but her partner is an unpleasant old fart. She decides to leave the police force in Austin behind and work with her friend Veronica in New Orleans. There’s voodoo, spirits, and romance in NOLA, but Franki doesn’t know if she’ll survive her grandmother’s need to see her married. Delightful books and an entertaining series.

Funny, Quirky and Mysterious
This is a great set to start off the Franki Amot Mystery series. Franki, an ex-cop moves to New Orleans to work as a Private Investigator. One surprise after another hits her at the same time as her Nonna is trying to run her romantic life. The series is interesting, humorous and fun. I’m looking forward to reading the next book “Campari Crimson”.

Love it!

While I'm not 100% convinced by the narrator choice, as I had a different "voice in my head" for Franki, the stories are hilarious and well plotted and the setting is fantastic.
There are few inaccuracies, but nothing too disruptive to the flow of the stories.

When Franki Amado is on the tail of a suspect, nothing stops her... short of her Italian Nonna. As Franki maneuvers around the French Quarter, she is always one step away from disaster or comedic success. Romance seems to be her downfall if her history with her cheating ex or her failure-to-commit current banker guy are any indication. With the help of a retired senior-citizen stripper, a few lovable drag queens, reported voodoo priestess, a southern belle psychic, and a cadre of amateur sleuths with senior Catholic grandma backups, there’s either mayhem or madness to follow. And it all includes a side of slapstick comedy.

Still as perfect the fifth time around

Love these books. The first story in this bundle is my favorite story in the genre. Have listened to it five times now. It is perfect, world building, characters, plots and storyline. So funny in an absolutely delirious and believable way. If you don´t have a big family then the believability of the story might escape you. Your loss!? The humor should still be spot on though. Given that you still interact with other people. Absolutely wonderful characters and not stop antics. Have started on the fourth story.

Franki Amato Series

I loved the characters in these books. Lots of humor, especially with Madame Moiselle's Strip Club. The ending was a bit surprising, but I don't try to solve before the end. I just enjoy a good read. Thanks.
