Mildly better than the first.

I've rounded up to 3 stars, but it's more like 2½ to 2¾ stars. While I didn't enjoy the first book, I really wanted to read about Rachel and Stan's love story. The same issues I had with the first book are repeated here.

- lots of telling rather than showing
- jumping between points of view mid-page which was confusing
- editing issues
- no real emotion/flat monotone even when things should have been hopping with excitement

That said, there were some things I enjoyed. I loved Rachel's spunk and how she jumped in to help. I loved the way she helped Maisy and the other ladies. I enjoyed Stan's portrayal for the most part. I loved how even though he didn't want things to change, he took action because it was the right thing to do.

I liked a few of the side characters in this book starting with Maisy who had the spunk to survive hell at the hands of her step-father. Another side character that I liked was Tudor, one of the witches. His anger at what Abs for how he was treating women and stealing magic was very believable and well-written.

How is the author's writing? Okay
Is there violence? Some violence
Is there sexual content? Explicit sexual content
How is the story narrated? Alternating persons and I don't know
Will I read this author again? Possibly

Wow! There is so much going on in this story! Stanley must challenge an alpha from another pack. It is for justice for the pack and its people. Rachel doesn't know if she wants to be a wolf. She also has a male witch after her. The pack is in extremely bad shape. Will she accept Stanley as her mate? Will they get the pack in order? Will the pack accept Rachel? Read this fast moving story to get the answers to these questions! You will not want to put it down!

Enjoyed this continuation of the Red Wolf series. Stanley deserved his own story and it was nice to see what happened to sister Rachel. And I see at the end there’s obviously another book coming! I’ll be looking for the story on Rachel and Megan‘s cousin!

Great read

Good addition to the series and I enjoyed it much. I really like the characters and situations. The process of rebuilding a pack is fascinating and a little educational too. Can't wait for the next story in this series. I would recommend this book to any adult reader who enjoys a sexy shifter story.

Great followup

I thought I loved Reese, but Stan OMG, he's the total package. He has a heart of gold and sex appeal to match. He works hard to make sure everyone is happy especially his mate. I promise you it worth reading.☺☺☺☺
