I can't get enough of the series if the first one was full of mystery, dark, intense this one has these elements and many more, it's a roller coaster of emotions, full of twists and very suspenseful, honestly I was holding my breath throughout the story the agony was if that is possible "jumping" from the pages!!



The dark plot continues and becomes darker, in the first I loved Judson character now i adore it, this mysterious, introvert, full of secrets man has my heart (honestly i know it's strange) in this part i can see that his personality has many layers to be discovered..



Ivy turns the story with her actions in an adventure.. a very intense suspenseful one.. I don't wanna spoil anything it's best to read without knowing anything I can only say that i loved it and after another huge cliffhanger I'm looking forward to read the next part!!

This book was okay. It's full of expense and leaves you on the edge of your set. It literally took me an hour to read this book. I did enjoy it. But not enough for 5 stars. I wish the girl in this book used her brain a little bit more.

I don't want to go into detail about anything in the second book. I will say that this is brilliant. The cliffhanger is definitely huge. I can't wait for the third book to come.

This book was incredible!!! The twists and turns left me holding my breathe and at times I felt like I would burst before getting to the next page.

The second book started off exactly where the first book ended!! And when this book ended I screamed at my kindle and almost broke it cause I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!!!

I was truly sucked in for every single word on the page. I couldn't get enough and was afraid I might miss something. There are a lot of questions that I can't wait to be answered in book 3.

I don't want to give anything away cause this is a series you NEED to read!!!!

This book was better toward the middle to the end but not so much at the beginning because, like all captive books, with leaving the character in a dark room alone with their thoughts the story is at a standstill to make it seem like hours of time have passed so you just read their thoughts or how their surroundings look. It gets boring. but after weeks of redundancy, they do something different and finally, the plot starts to move again.

Ivy being on the run was fun to read and the ending...wow. Did not see that coming but that was annoying as well which I'll explain in my next review on the final book so as to not spoil too much with this one.

The drama really heats up in this sequel. Poor naive, gullible, Ivy. This chick can take two steps forward without taking ten backwards!

Great sequel! Lots of drama, action, mayhem, omgee, and such! Warning: it's so obvious stuff is about to hit the fan! The buildup is crazy! Keep reading!

Dori Lavelle's dark side comes out in full force in Midnight Storm (Amour Toxique Book 2) and I enjoy ever bit of it. If you enjoy a dark read this one is for you, but start with Midnight Scent Book 1 as this is a continuation series with a cliffhanger.

Midnight Storm starts where Midnight Scent left off as Ivy wakes up to learn she is now married to Judson/Damian. Damian now controls Ivy and makes sure that she will accept their marriage.

This begins an emotional rollercoaster for Ivy and the reader to see what Ivy will do next.
The twists and turns in this book held me to the end and OMG!!! What an ending that I craved for more to see what happens next.

Will Ivy escape from Damian to freedom or is she doomed?

Damian seems to have a heart deep down, but what turned him into a monster he is now. I feel we will learn more in Midnight Rain (Amour Toxique Book 3).

Dori's writes to perfection in this series and it's a must read. I can't even fathom where Dori's going to take me next when I read her books.

Characters: Ivy strong to some point, but can she overcomes the emotions to survive. Damian is demanding and wants his way or else, but will he push too far.

Dori Lavelle has done it again for me with her second book in her Amour Toxique series. I would highly recommend reading book one first, so you’re able to fully understand what is happening with book two.
I will admit. I was a little nervous going into book two only because of how book one ended. Usually with a series, there’s always at least one book that’s sort of a middle guy. It’s slower and even though it’s needed, sometimes I don’t like those. However, THIS one does not go that way. At all. There were so many times I questioned my own sanity because I just was not expecting the story to go that way. I was second guessing myself in what I was reading, and it’s totally unpredictable. There’s more twists and so much mystery behind Judson/Damien and I really want to know what is going on with him. Ivy really did surprise me with this one too. I thought she might give in and just let whatever happen, happen. I was so wrong. Ivy really shows her true colors in this one, and I’m so glad Dori Lavelle wrote her that way.
Again, more than once I questioned my sanity, but I can’t say why. You’ll just have to take my word for it and give this one a try. I really cannot wait to see what will happen next with the third book, and I already know I’ll be shocked like with this one.

Lets start with if you haven't read Midnight Scent, then go do that. Second, if you aren't a fan of dark reads, then this book isn't for you. But for all the others out their, this book was amazing. The first one got the story moving, but this one was full force.

This book picks right up where the first one leaves off. Judson/Damien is by far one of the most interesting characters I have read. I would be lying to say I don't like him. Even though he is cruel, crazy, and in some ways caring-I can't get enough of him. I do like Ivy, but she was a bit to gullible in the first book. And that only lead her down the rabbit hole. I'm not sure if I want her to get away, or just accept Judson/Damien love.

To say I am waiting patiently for the third book is so very wrong. I devoured this book in one night, and now I need more!

Picking up where Book 1 left off, we find out now there has been a wedding. A marriage that only 1 actually wants to be in. There is no option for divorce, only death...that can separate them. Is there another way out... Will there be a solution for a marriage that happened when one was drugged and out of it...Is Death the only way to end what has happened?

This is a very quick read that just added more pieces to the puzzle. Need Book 3 to find out how this puzzle will look once all the pieces fit together.

I can't get enough of this author! She gets better and better with every story, and this one proved this. Hands down the best book she has written to date. The twists and turns, the emotions, THE CLIFFY....I'm holding my breath until book 3 hits the shelves. I need to know if he finds her in time and what secrets he has hidden in his dark soul... Read this series. You will not be disappointed.

Whew….a very powerful continuation of the Amour Toxique series. If you have not read book one…stop…..get the book and read it first as you will need the back history for this story to make sense.

As a quick refresher, In Midnight Storm, after cultivating a relationship with the incarcerated Judson Devereux, Ivy was kidnapped by Judson Devereux (aka Damien Steel). He drugged her, kidnapped her and married her – all without her knowledge or consent. We (the readers) knew he was bad news from earlier in the book, but Ivy was slow to coming to that conclusion.

Enter, Ivy being held captive by Damien. The story held me captive as well. Ignoring life and reading was what I did for the next day, much to the chagrin of my family! The prose flowed like a stream – I did not know where this story was going but I just had to follow it. Like the first book in the series, the second book ends with a cliff-hanger!!! Luckily, I will have book three soon to start reading 

I found the garbage bin scene interesting. What a gal won’t do to save herself. Emotionally, the scene with Leon was heart wrenching. Ivy became so attached to Leon, I so wanted that to actually have a different ending.

I enjoyed unwrapping more of Damien’s character. He is intriguing and I am sure there are more layers to peel back but so far the journey has been enticing and mesmerizing.

One thing I can say for sure, the writing of Ms. Lavelle is spellbinding, engaging, mind blowing…all around GREAT. I have not enjoyed a psychological thriller this much in ages. Thank you for penning such a good story and I can’t wait to read the next installment in the Amour Toxique series.

Before I start my review please make sure that you have read book 1 in this series before you read anymore of this series.

Ivy has now gone into a incarcerated relationship with JD things are about to turn a whole lot darker for college student Ivy.

JD has kidnapped her and if that wasn't bad enough he also married her without Ivy's knowledge or consent as he has drugged her. Ivy you silly little girl you should of listened to your friends and Jennifer.

You the reader feel like that we are standing in Ivy's shoes as she is taken on a emotional roller coaster. Ivy must decide what to do next. This book has so many twists and turns it took me a couple of days to pick up book 3 in this series as I was left with a serious book hangover.

I cant really say much more about this book as I will only give away spoilers and I would love to see if it provokes the same reaction that it did with me.

Ok! SO had to cheat on this book and read all 3 before leaving my review, I know it's not the right way but I honestly couldn't do it before! This first book made me feel so WTELF!!! I really thought I couldn't finish it, so I decided it would be unfair of me to leave feedback at this point, so anyway I would encourage anyone who starts reading to finish all 3 books!

Book 2: wow this doesn't get any easier to read but you have to just keep going!!!

this was another amazing book you wrote. its about a guy who kidnaps this woman makes her his wife while under drugs and locks her up in his house. he is one sick guy who uses his charms to get her to sleep with him again. i cant wait to read the next book in this series. thanks for giving me a chance to read this book!

Things always seem darkest in the middle of the storm.

This was a hard book to read because of the trauma happening to the characters. It takes a true artist to write bad things and make believe them to be real. Take a deep breath but power thru it is definitely worth it.

Midnight Storm starts right where Midnight Scent leaves off.
In Midnight Storm the reader starts to get a glimpse into Judson but still not not enough to figure out his intentions or the reason behind his actions.
Also Ivy will not lie down and play the victim but does all she can to help herself find a way out of her situation. She's a strong amazing fighter.
I loved Midnight Scent (it was a 5 star read for me) but Midnight Storm might even be better than bk 1!
It's dark,gritty and the twists and turns in the story are mind blowing!
Midnight Storm is a psychological thriller that had my heart pumping and anxiously awaiting to see how it would end.
It was a shocker of an end! Wow did not see that coming!

I am not sure how I can begin to explain my feelings for this book. This amazing author has blown me away yet again with her storytelling. She definitely didn't disappoint with the second installment of the Amour Toxique series. After reading the first book (Midnight Scent), I had become so captivated by this amazing thriller especially after that cliffhanger. This highly addictive story had me hooked from the first page to the last. Midnight Storm can definitely be described as an emotional roller coaster. There were so many twists and turns that I didn't expect. Initially I thought I knew where the story was going. But I was completely blindsided by the direction the story was headed to that I was literally on the edge of my seat as I was reading. One of my favorite aspects about this book would have to be Judson/Damien. I loved that we were able to get a better glimpse into this alluring and mysterious character. Even though I'm still confused on what his true intentions are and the secrets that he's hiding, I'm still very intrigued by this character. There are still so many unanswered questions and secrets to be revealed. But I'm very excited to see where this story will go in the next book. This dark romance is a definite must read.

This is book 2 in a series and book 1 is need before starting this.
It picks up right where book 1 left. Judson completely was surprising me in this.
My heart was racing reading this. Dori is amazing at thrilling her audience. This had so many twists and turns. And shocking answers. But I need book 3 now. I am addicted.

Words cannot describe this luring and intoxicating thriller. I was mesmerised by every move Damien made towards Ivy. His level of crazy making was mind blowing.

Intrigued by his constant vow of loyalty, and undying love towards Ivy took this story to levels that had my mind spinning. I felt completely emotionally taken for a ride. The One Damien had buckled Ivy into for twenty nine chapters.

This story was Wow! Once you start to read, and can't, nor refuse to tear your eyes from it until you get answers.

After reading the first book, I knew the author would follow up with a great part 2 or even an ending. But, I did not expect this.

I'm left with my head still swirling with wt?'s. This author is beyond talented, and this storyline goes beyond anything I've read. She's crossed all genres, and my hats off to her.

Fascinating, alluring, and captivating are just a few words that come to mind to describe this series. Most of all, it's a must read!!! I give it a well deserved five star.

I wasn't sure where there is book was going to go, especially after how the first book had ended. This was definitely a rollercoaster ride. After the ending of this book, I am REALLY not sure which way the story is going to go. I enjoy it when a book makes you wonder which angle or direction the author is going.
The book still does not answer a lot of questions that came up in the first book. If anything, the second book has added more questions. Very little is answered, but I think it is what keeps the story going.
I have found it hard to like Judson/Damien because of the things he has done. I am hoping with the third installment, there is more focus on him, and the reasons why he does what he does. I am not entirely sure there is a way to redeem is character, to make me want to like him. Whatever it may be, it will have to be epic.

F***!!! This book is such a rollercoaster of emotions!!! This second book is far more intense and darker than the first book in the Amour Toxique Series!
Dori,you amaze me with this series! This continuation of the series is gut-wrenching and things will come to the light that will shock you.You had me for an unexpected ride Dori! Ivy suddenly finds herself married to Judson,who reveals to be a cruel and twisted captor.Yet she is still drawn to him.This will have you wishing for the redemption of Judson.But then secrets are revealed and things begin turning out far more dangerous.
The ending of the story ends with a cliffhanger,the usual writing style of Dori! But this has me getting excited for the final installment of the Amour Toxique series! Please Dori..hurry up with it already,will you?! *puppy face*

This book kept me on egde for 3 hours straight. I received an ARC copy for an honest review and I couldn't put it down down even for one minute. I absolutely enjoyed the first book and this book is just as great. The one thing you can count on Dori's books are the twists and turns her stories will take you through. I am trying to find a way to tell you all how amazing the book is without giving spoilers, but you all will have to read to find it out. I am always waiting for Dori's books because her books are very thrilling and I am never disappointed. I am still in shock from reading the book. I cannot wait to read the next book and learn what happens next. I am dying to read the next book and now I am going to be counting down the days till I get the next book.
