Why would a billionaire smuggle terrorists into the country?
On a mission to free enslaved Iraqi friends, Jacob Stearne feels good about liberating an American held with them. Then he learns the American leads a terrorist cell. The man vanishes. Scrambling after his mistake from Latin America to the South Pacific, Jacob gets a bad feeling when he tracks the fundamentalists heading for the USA.
Pia Sabel is doing her best to learn the family business. She’s feeling a little out of place among the billionaires when the president charges her with uncovering a peer intent on destroying the country. With no shortage of rich, arrogant suspects, trust quickly becomes her biggest problem. Who is funding the radicals Jacob is hunting? Her boyfriend? An old associate? Her father?
While the wealthy fraternize with politicians, everything Pia believed in is turned upside down. Facing a collision with evil she cannot win her team can only hope to save some—not all. As the clock ticks down, Pia and Jacob must face the ultimate question: in the final showdown, will they have what it takes?
On a rainy day when I was ten, I was transported to eighteenth century England where I met Captain Billy Bones, heard the tapping of Blind Pew’s cane, and witnessed the treachery of Long John Silver. When I closed the cover of Treasure Island, I thought to myself: When I make stuff up, I get in trouble. I need to become a writer.
Which was the career I planned on pursuing. Planned on …
At 17, I was homeless, wandering from one minimum wage job to another. At 19, I found purpose in life when I adopted a 3-year-old girl and raised her (she’s 51 now and lives across town). Children need a lot of things that cost money, so I shelved the writing idea and pursued a career in technology, selling products and services to Fortune 500 company executives.
Along the way, I met and married the love of my life. We added two children (now grown and living in LA and NYC) and carved out a life. When I’d made all the gold I could eat, I returned my focus to the career I’d always wanted: writing adventures filled with thrills and mysteries.
My beloved wife passed unexpectedly in early 2024. Now, I spend my time talking to my imaginary friends and hiking a small mountain in my hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. I hope you enjoy the Sabel Security Series, and the characters of Jacob Stearne and Pia Sabel. As of this writing, there are sixteen novels completed and two more in my head. I plan to keep writing them until my mortal ink dries up.

While this is an entertaining roller-coaster ride, I made the mistake of reading books 1-3 all in a row. These are not well suited to binge-reading, as the plots are very similar, the global gallivanting stretches to find new places to land, and the bad guys become more psychotic and less realistic.
Stakes Keep Rising. In this installment of the Sabel Security Thrillers, we find a rather ingenious terrorist plot, ran by someone inside the US. But who? That is what Pia Sabel and her team must find out. Good action, good mystery. Need a resolution to the mystery behind Pia's parents' murder already. That plot is starting to get long in the tooth with no resolution. Though the ending here was a bit of a cliffhanger - only tangentially related to said murders. Still recommended.
I totally enjoyed this book. It had me passing pages and pages way after my bed time! This is an action-packed, around the world, shoot all the bad guys, page-turner. Most of the characters that we know and like (and some that we don't) are back and we get to know a bit more about them. We even get another side of Mercury's personality!!
First thing; I liked this book! I enjoyed the character development of all the major characters, I'm a character reader, I get into what makes them tick, who and what they are. Pia's soccer background continues to disappear in this book as James focuses more on Jacob and Pia. Oops, no spoilers here, read the book, enjoy the book as I have, I'll be reading more by Seeley James.
Only Seeley James could make me eat my words. I said the previous book “Death & Dark Money” was the best in the series but I was so wrong. I hesitate to say this again, but since I'm sure there's no way he can top “Death & the Damned” I will take the chance. Death & the Damned is the best book in the Sabel Security series!!
Pia and Jacob chase a terrorist halfway across the country with surprising results Amazing story that keeps you reading until you're finished Lots of suspense, and espionage to keep you happy Fast moving for sure First book by this author, but not the last
Seeley James has a fantastic series going with Pia Sabel and Jacob Stearne being the main characters so far. He has really created a master world where Pia and Jacob are constantly on the run, usually in different parts of the world trying to save their latest job from blowing up not only their world but the entire world. These first three books narrows things down to a point where it appears that the bad guys are all the rich of the richest in the USA trying to control all the monies out there. I can’t say anymore without giving away some spoilers. You will have to buy them to find out all the complexities involved. These are must read books and are filled with thrills and spills. I have loved all of them and am looking forward to book 4. I highly recommend them. They are complex political thrillers and you won’t be able to put them down for any length of time. Star now so you can get caught up!!
Sabel Security is under attack and the opposition are going to regret it
This is a very good thriller, as are all of the previous Sabel stories. The book description on Amazon that accompanies the book is accurate. But this one was not as satisfying as the others. Perhaps Mr. Seeley tried to put a bit too much plot into the story. A bit too much computer hacking… The god only Jacob can see and hear is distractingly rambling. ..Too many characters have too many millions or billions of dollars, and are spending it too casually in order to enable plot elements to connect and move ahead… But it was a very good thriller, and I will purchase the next Sabel novel, and almost certainly will consider the time used to read it as time well spent.
It is a gray rainy California day and while I have more work than I care to think about, I am ignoring it to read the next in this series. I get as annoyed with Mercury, the "it was better in the good old days" god as our hero. But he does have his uses. Fun books . These books are not good for the three storage units of stuff I need to be sorting ang culling and getting out of my house, but they are a lot more interesting.
Non-stop action and intrigue. Background and secrets learned/revealed about the ongoing characters as the drama builds and the intrigue gets even more layered. Great read. I could not put it down, like all of Seeley James' books. And I have more of them...
Each and every book in the Sabel Security series is a wild ride. You get swept up in the story and just hang on tight. The characters are intense and the adventures are nail biters. I can't wait for Book #6.
