‘Cliché’
You hear the word used for many things; one being,
‘in the wrong place at the wrong time’.
Ember
I saw something one night that changed not only my life, but all of me, as well.
From the moment my line of vision set upon him—seeing something I should never have witnessed—that was where it all began.
The more I think about my situation, the more I realise that none of what is happening to me is normal; not even close to normal.
For that wrong place, wrong time cliché was the start of a volcanic eruption—a connection so powerful that I fear it will swallow me whole.
But no matter what my brain screams at me, my body ignores it, and I began to realise I am becoming captivated by my captor.
Will I be strong enough to break the connection and survive?

The moment my eyes landed on hers, I was instantly drawn to her light.
The way her body makes mine ignite; the way she lights me up when our skin touches.
She's like a flame in my darkness.
Regardless of how dangerous it may become for everyone, she is the only thing on my mind.
I am a monster. I am dangerous.
I need to destroy her, for all of our sakes...but I want her.
She has the ability to destroy me, but I am almost to the end of this hell I've been living in.
I cannot let a woman destroy me—not now, when the taste of freedom is so close.

This is a story of turmoil where battles begin within the fight against bodies and minds, hearts and souls, and against a continual pull of a force that connects darkness with light. Where it will either destroy or rejuvenate them. When an old face arrives to help his friend reach the end, he seems to be the balance that is needed to help with their constant pull towards each other.

I know I'm in the minority but I struggled with this book. I was really excited in the beginning with all the buzz surrounding it so now that I finished it I'm somewhat disappointed.
I liked the story of a girl in the wrong place at the wrong time seeing something she shouldn't have and now she's been taken and held captive for what she saw. She's held in a cellar...forced to pee in a bucket.. not being fed and then she's raped by her captor.
Jake...I wanted to like him. He's all dark and broody and his kink is to cause pain..take women beyond what they normally can handle sometimes to the point of really hurting them and not in a fun way and usually it's sexy as hell but in this instance I didn't think it was. He just seemed really abusive..he punches Ember pistol whips her raped her and nearly strangled her to death twice..ummm no thanks!! I didn't feel any chemistry between them during the sex scenes. But I will say when his best friend Max enters the picture lol yea that's when the chemistry kicked in big time!!! For two men who say that they are not into men and that love having sex with women these two guys couldn't keep their hands and dicks off of each other ...ooo weee!!! I'm like yea right just admit you love fkn your best friend lol!!! I swear the scenes with Jake and Max is what made me want to finish this book. Also the amount of typos kind of killed it for me. The author was kind enough to provide me with an ARC and I feel bad because I really wanted to love it but it just wasn't there for me.

OK let me start off by saying I am still trying to wrap my head around all that I just found out from this book. First of all i was not a fan of Jake in the beginning, normally the main character always has to falling but not this time. Max is my go to man from the moment I met him I'm hooked line sinker lol. Jake just rubs me the wrong way. I completely aware of Dom and submissive relationship but never have I ever seen someone like Jake who doesn't even stop as the safe word is being screamed at him. I always thought that was safe word was for but clearly not with Jake. Ember on the other hand I woukd of love to seen her fall for max I just think the two of them together can be explosive!! Can't wait for part two.

Where do I start!! This book was just amazing!

Jake has to protect his brother and can't let Ember tell anyone what she has seen
What starts off as captive & captor soon turns into something else but Jakes unconventional boss Dominic is getting closer to finding out about Ember & nothing good will come of that.
Max, ahhhh Max, i may of licked him to claim ownership lol. Max is Jakes best friend and the sex between him, Jake & Ember is off the charts hot!!
I can't wait for book two to see where the story takes us next.

Wow wow wow! As soon as I started reading I was captured with the scene playing out, this story is dark and hot all wrapped into one. Ember is one tough woman even when she's faced with Jake who is a man that likes the much darker things in life. I loved reading how she starts to discover things about herself she was unaware of before. When you add Max into the mix with the 2 of them holy smokes is all I'm going to say. This is book 1 in the series and I for one cannot wait for BM to keep on writing because I need MORE and I need it NOW!! Loved loved loved. Let me just add this is my voluntary and unbiased review for this book.

omg , I don't really read dark books , this is probably my second one but even tho it is very dark it is crazily hot and sexy , a cold shower was definitely needed pretty much throughout this whole book , the character development is amazing and I love how they all share a connection that makes things even hotter , I can't wait to read more of this series and looking forward to more of max , he is probably my favorite character , he had me laughing a lot which I wasn't expecting at all

Had the honour to read an ARC of this provided by the author herself , it's a good thing you get a warning about things in the book before reading it because this is extremely dark and draws you in from first page I couldn't put it down , some parts are hard to read but for the most part it's extremely devious and hot and damn three guys be prepared ladies this takes you on a roller coaster of feelings while reading ! It's an AMAZING first debut novel I can't wait to see more from you . Well done

Do you fancy a walk on the dark side?? If you do and are a fan of authors like M Never and TM Fraiser then BM Books' first instalment of the Captivating Captive series is definitely for you!! I loved every dark and twisted moment of Jake and Embers story which had me hot, wanting more and questioning my morals in parts. A true rollercoaster ride of a book that will draw you in and have you shouting out loud!
If you like your reads hotter than hot and darker than dark, with a thriller edge then C C is definitely for you.

I had the honour of reading this as an ARC, I would never of believed that B M Books, was a new author, I was warned in advance that it was a dark erotic book with possible triggers...so thank you for that!..right about the book...I loved every minute..I was pulled into the book...felt the pain from Ember, travelled to the dark side with jake, and when you put max in the mix...it makes the story explosive!...a definite must read, can't wait for part 2...five deliciously hot and dirty *****

I started reading this book and couldn't put it down. It is so steamy, gut wrenching and sweet. I love the dynamics between the main characters, and let's talk about max. WOW. You through him in and you have quite the trio. I loved this book and to think this is this authors first novel, unbelievable. The only thing that bothered me was that there were a lot of words that were put together but besides that a fantastic book. Only one question, when will second book be released.

This is one seriously DARK and HOT read! I can't believe this is B M Books' first book to ever write! Simply amazing!!
Ember is a regular everyday girl with everyday life issues; gorgeous, kind, and full of life...until the night she sees something she never should have seen.
