The Defiance trilogy wrapped up with a bang and was overall very enjoyable. Again, I wish there was more depth to Weber's novels. I think he could really create quite an epic story of survival if he drew out some of these scenes with more definition and description. The end of this book was severely rushed when there could have been a very long battle scene for control of the town. Slightly disappointed, but still very fun.

Great ending to a series worth reading!

This is the last book in this 3 book series. It is an appropriate ending to this great series about survivors of a devestating plague and the social upheaval that follows. Survivors in this dry desert town are barely making it when ruthless people take over as mayor and sheriff after murdering their way to those positions. Not content with what they have, they take what they want from the townfolk and leave them only enough to barely survive. They also want what Dale has on his homestead on the outskirts of town...An aquifer under his land that is full of water. Dale has no intention of letting them have the water or his home. Before long, outside forces come in from Mexico at the request of the mayor. They not only want the town, the want to take back land they believe belongs to Mexico. The story about these events and people are well written and above all, plausible. This is one post apocalyptic series you don't want to miss! Highly recommend!

Excellent end to a great tale. Weber provided another great example of craftmanship. Together with the first two books in this series it's a great tale about people trying to survive after the apocalypse. Well written fast paced and great characters. Loved it

Really enjoyable series

A set of excellent characters facing moral and life challenges under duress. It is a worthy cap to the series.
