Prof. Myśliwiec is undoubtedly not only a renowned archaeologist but also a gifted storyteller. This book is a popular overview of the Polish excavations at Saqqara, to the west of the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser, and fully achieves its goal. It is both informative and interesting, and also very well told.
