But what happens when Lennox is offered her dream? Will Mason let his life walk away from him a second time, or will he fight to keep her? Written in Mason and Lennox's POV. Book One in The Chance Series Disclaimer: This story contains mature themes, strong language, underage drinking, and sexual situations. It is intended for mature adults.
A Chance at Forever is the love story of Mason and Lennox. It is very well written and the style reminds me so much of Nicholas Sparks. A very sweet coming of age romance. Mason is charming and such a gentleman. He had to give up his future after his father died and has been running the business his dad left him. Lennox moves into the little town and falls almost instantly for Mason. She is not destined to be a small town girl with her talents. She has to choose between love and her future. I highly recommend this book. If you love Nicholas Sparks you will love the feel of this story.
I loved Mason and Lennox and how they both had issues in their past that they had to work through. After having both their dreams stopped Mason encourages Lennox to follow her dream even though it’s going to hurt him. I can’t wait to see where Mason and Lennox head in the next book. Mason’s dad died and instead of having his dream and following his scholarship in soccer, he runs his dad’s boat rental shop, while his brother runs the grill. Lennox has been travelling with her dad after he left her mum, and they find a nice quiet town to settle in. Looking for somewhere to dock her father’s boat, Lennox heads to Mason’s boat rental shop, the chemistry between the two is instant. After bumping into each other a few times, Mason asks Lennox out on a date. The two realise that there is some sort of pull between them that they can’t deny, after some drinking and dancing things start to get heated between the two, not wanting Mason to think that she’s not interested Lennox explains that it wasn’t because she wasn’t interested, but that she never has, this only makes Mason feel more for Lennox. With Lennox having a part time job at the Grill, when her Dad goes out of town she decides to stay with Mason for a few days, when they’re at the Grill she does some Karaoke and is spotted by a record label that wants her to call them. Excited by the idea that she can finally live her dream Lennox accepts the deal with the record label, but can’t understand why Mason isn’t more excited for her and heads over to his house, what she sees leaves her devastated. After working through their issues, Lennox decides that she doesn’t want to leave Mason, until he convinces her that she needs to follow her dream and see where it will lead her, and that he will be here for her. After saying goodbye and realising on the plane that this was going to be real, Lennox tries to leave but the flight is ready to leave, although she wants to return to Mason, she realises that she needs to follow her dream to see where it can take her.
On one had it was a decent read, a little immature at times but decent. But then on the other hand it was frustrating. There was A LOT of underage drinking going on and no one seemed to care that it was happening. Save for one girls parents who didn't like her going to the grill for that reason. The underage drinking got really excessive to the point that it was annoying to have to keep reading about it.
And yes I am aware that this one has a disclaimer on it, but the disclaimer still doesn't make up for the numerous times it was in there.
Disclaimer: This story contains mature themes, strong language, underage drinking, and sexual situations. It is intended for mature adults.
I did like the relationship between Mason and Lennox at first. It was very sweet and innocent romance turned first love. Which was rather enduring but then there was this whole mess of drama coming from this Ashley chick whose character was annoying as well. And I just find it slightly disturbing that Ashley is portrayed as this slutty 16-19 year old high school girl who is all about picking up tourists and using them for sex and money but has her heart set on having Mason all to herself.
So for the most part this book was an okay read. Now I'm not entirely sold on reading the next two in the series but it's not like I felt like I wasted time reading this book either.
Mason gave up his dreams when his father died. Together with his brother he took over his father's boat rental shop instead. Business is going well and they have a lot of customers who return every year. When Lennox walks into the shop in search of a place to dock her boat, Mason is instantly smitten with her. Mason has already lost everything once and it looks like more sacrifices need to be made. Will he be able to let go of his own dreams one more time?
Lennox and her dad need a fresh start, because Lennox's parents recently got divorced. A new town is exactly what they've been looking for. Lennox has a beautiful voice and her dream is to be a famous country singer one day. However, falling in love is something that can happen at any moment. What will Lennox do when everything she has ever wanted is bound to come true? Will she stay in town to be with Mason or will she follow her dream to be a singer?
Mason never doubted for a second that he needed to stay to take care of his brother and the boat rental shop, but he does feel trapped sometimes. Lennox brought back the warmth he was missing. Mason is so sweet and I loved how he takes care of Lennox. Mason is not the average young man and he cares deeply for his brother and friends. Mason is such a gentleman and he doesn't want to hold Lennox back. Being that young with so many responsibilities is tough, but Mason is pulling it off and I felt a deep respect for him.
Lennox is very close to her dad and I loved to read about their bond. Lennox is a good student and she's not afraid of hard work. She's kind and thoughtful, but will not have people walk all over her. I loved those contrasts in her character. Lennox is a talented singer, but she needs to get a little more confidence in her own voice. She has to make a difficult decision and I was hoping for her to make the right one.
A Chance at Forever is a sweet love story about two young people discovering love for the first time. I instantly connected with Mason and Lennox and was wishing for them both to find their right path in life. What I loved the most about this story is that K.B. Andrews took her time developping Mason and Lennox's relationship. It isn't rushed and it shows that special innocent teenage love. I really liked this sweet romantic story with endearing main characters. I can't wait to read more about Mason and Lennox in the second book in the The Chance series, A Second Chance at Forever.
This is the love story of Mason and Lennox. Mason is a loving selfless 19 year old who had his whole life planned out. When his father died his life got turned upside down. He could no longer go to away to college on his soccer scholarship. Mason and his older brother, Dane, inherited a marina and a bar and grill. Mason ran the Marina and Dane the bar and grill. Giving up his dream of college and being a professional soccer player, Mason settles into a quiet life. Everything changes when he met Lennox.
Lennox a 18 year old high school student had a dream of one day becoming a famous singer. When her parents divorced she moved with her father to Mason's home town. The day Mason and Lennox met they both fell for each other and it grew into young love. The type that one wants for their first real love. They have their ups and downs but together they seem to eventually get through them.
I loved the sweet relationship between Mason and Lennox. Will they stay together forever or does life and Lennox's dream get in the way. I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens between Mason and Lennox.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through Quill and Ink for an honest review.
I loved the flow of this story. It was the first thing besides mason that drew me and kept me hooked. He was so cute with his attraction to Lennox. Even though this is a YAish type read, both characters seem a lot older for their ages because of how they had to grow up.
Mason was great. He was cute when he thought about her, but at the same time he had all these responsibilities and had to give up on his dreams, but it was one of the best things that could have happened.
Lennox was harder to get a read on. She was still in school, and at times her age showed. Even though she was 18, she acted like a shy 16 year old girl when it comes to mason, I found it really enduring. She get an amazing opportunity and even though it was hard to follow her dreams but she did.
Ok so now for what I didn't like. Mason was 19 yet Lennox,'s father was ok with him drinking beer and they was able to drink in the bar. I know his brother owned it, but it didn't seem very realistic. It could have messed with their licensing for seeing alcohol is not getting them close down for serving a minor. That being said, it is fiction so I let this slide but that's doesn't mean it didn't confuse me.
The plot was fun. First loves, a little steam and drama. It was a wild ride with a HEAFN type ending. I will read the other book at some point because I need to know what happens.
Overall, I really liked the story, it kept me hooked even with all the high school drama that was inserted into the plot. I have a feeling some of it will continue into the next book. I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. 4 stars #2OCCJD
” A Chance at Forever” is a fantastic debut romance by author K.B. Andrews! Set in a coastal town, this story is about a young man named Mason whose college and soccer plans changed after the sudden death of his father. At 19, he co-owns two businesses with his older brother, works at his marina every day, and then heads home to watch the stars in the evening. Lennox moves to town with her Dad and meets Mason when inquiring about places to slip their boat. She’s 18 years old and getting ready to start her senior year of high school but has dreams of becoming a professional singer. As soon as Mason and Lennox lay eyes on each other, the attraction is instant, and the two quickly fall for one another. As the relationship deepens Mason has to keep reminding himself that Lennox will want to take off and follow her dreams, while Lennox keeps reminding herself about her dreams and fights the urge to give it all up for Mason.
Initially, I was surprised about how young each of the characters were in this novel, but surprisingly it didn’t have any impact on the chemistry and emotions between them. Mason was absolutely adorable all though possessive and jealous at times. After the death of his father, he gave up a soccer scholarship to stay in his hometown with his brother to help run his Dad’s marina business and a bar and grill. Although just getting ready to start her senior year of high school, Lennox seemed quite mature for her age at times, but then at other times, I was quickly reminded that she was a high school student. I loved her assertiveness and spunkiness throughout the novel and absolutely thought that she and Mason were a perfect match.
This was a super-fast, addictive novel that I started and finished within a few hours! K.B. Andrews’ writing drew me in immediately and I loved the overall storyline and subplots along the way. I liked how the physical part of their relationship wasn’t rushed but was then surprised by the intensity of their physical relationship for two people their age. Although they certainly are not the first underage people to drink, I was also surprised at the amount of drinking and the ease of being served in public at the bar and grill. At times, I felt like the author considered the characters older than they were? Despite any of that, I don’t remember the last time I became so absorbed with a story and the characters. The ending was not what I expected, again – going back to their ages, but I was truly impressed by Lennox’s mature and brave choice. Andrews reaffirmed the age-old message that not everything is about a guy and that it’s o.k. to follow one’s dreams. However, this novel had a major cliffhanger ending, so now I’m anxiously awaiting reading the second novel in the series and finding out more about Mason and Lennox! I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys new adult, coming of age, contemporary romance
A great love story. Mason and Lennox meet and it's an instant attraction. "Instant Love" Their story is powerful even though she's only 18 and he 19, but you feel for this young couple. You want them to make it. You want them to stay together grow and love. It ends in a bit of a cliffhanger, so you have to get the next book. Which is fine, I need to read more about their story.
**I received a copy of A Chance at Forever from Quill & Ink book review in exchange for an honest review.**
I was skeptical of A Chance at Forever before I started it. I'm not a huge fan of young adult, I prefer HOT AND STEAMY! But WOW! I'm so very happy I decided to read it. I absolutely LOVE a insta-love book! I mean from the first time young 19 year old Mason and 18 year old Lennox meet, it's hearts ablaze!
Mason first meets Lennox the new girl in town at his boat rental shop. He's instantly smitten with her. As she is to him. Poor Mason has lost everyone that he ever loved, his mom, his dad, then he loses his chance at the soccer scholarship he received when he decided to stay in town with his brother. The only family he has left. I LOVED Mason's character. He's so charismatic, and charming, not to mention drop dead gorgeous! My heart definitely felt for him and his losses.
Then there is the beautiful, sexy, sweet Lennox who moves to town with her father after her parents divorced. She chooses to live with her father. All she's ever dreamed of is being a famous singer one day.
The sweet and passionate love between these two is felt. I loved watching their love grow slowly. The author definitely didn't rush anything. And I loved that this book wasn't just sexual charged teens going at it. Mason and Lennox believe they will be together forever, (oh to be young again.)
But sometimes even true love isn't enough. Especially when life throws you a curve ball or two. And being so young can have it's downside when it seems all is against you.
Will Lennox's dreams of being a country music star tear her and Mason apart? Will the struggle that Mason feels about holding Lennox back from her dreams doom their relationship? They both have choices and life altering decisions to make. Decisions that will affect any future for themselves.
This book does leave off on a cliffhanger, and we are left to wonder what becomes of Mason and Lennox.
This was my first read from K.B. Andrews. Yet she was able to not only catch my attention, but hold it. I am waiting on baited breath for book 2.
I received my copy of A Chance At Forever through the Quill & Ink Review Team on Facebook.
This book primary focuses on Mason, who’s given up on his dreams to run his family business, and Lennox, the new girl in town. Sparks fly when they first met, but there are crazy-obsessed girls and future dreams that threaten to tear them apart.
So, I really tried to like this book, but I just couldn’t get over the insta-love and overall cheesiness of their relationship. I know some people enjoy those aspects, and if you do, I think this is the perfect book for you, but I personally am not the biggest fan of clichés.
The characters were all great and fun, except for one well-endowed blonde I won’t mention. I liked that they actually had obstacles to overcome, because it seemed to easy and effortless at the start of the book.
I don’t really know what to say, there were just some things that stopped me from enjoying it. Lennox annoyed me in some parts- she got a bit clingy when Mason actually had to go to work and fix up his house. And her indecision towards the end drove me crazy!
Like I said before, I’m sure some people out there will, and clearly do, love this book- I just wasn’t one of them.
After recieving this from the gals at Quill and Ink, I was finally able to sit down and read it! While I quite enjoyed the story, I really did like it, I also felt as though the trope is slightly outdated and overplayed. I am more interested to see where book two leads us than were this one ended.
The build up was quick, the pacing was interesting. Ashley is a great Protagonist and every high school girl's worst enemy. We had about 100 of them in my high school. Lennox is every girl's Kelly Clarkson. Or the gorl in every Trisha Yearwood song there is. Mason, is your a-typical boyfriend. He's a badass softy. They all know what they want, but there were aspects that were to annoying for me, as you will find with any teen angst story, and there should be a label about the excessive teen drinking in this story.
Otherwise an enjoyable read, i am interested in where this storyline is going. Thanks!
Mason has seemingly lost everything- his dreams, his father, his future. He's at a dark point in his life, obligated to fulfill his duties as part owner to a rental shop and a grill with his brother. Just when he thinks this is "it, as good as it gets" Lennox, a dark-haired beauty enters his life and the once dark spots in his heart are filled with light. . . and love.
The story moves at a steady pace, setting up a very nice, very descriptive story. It really pulls the reader into the world of Mason with his sweetness and Lennox with her insecurities.
The ending leaves the reader eager to turn the page only to find no page exists! I excitedly await reading the next book in the series! I want to know how Lennox is doing as she chases her dreams and how Mason is handling himself. Fantastic read! There is a lot of teenage drinking and for a while there I was wondering if anyone was going to jump into an AA meeting. The book is great, story superb. Highly recommend!
I love Mason and Lennox story. It's sweet. The only thing I don't get is, her dad and Mason keeps on saying that's she's got bigger and better things for her and that it was her dream of becoming a singer since she was 2. But through the whole story, I've never even seen her sing besides the one time he caught her singing while she was laying down to get tan. Then the one night she did karaoke she got discovered. I don't think that's believe. But all in all I love how cute they are together. Lol but the two seriously needs help with beating on other.
I loved this book. The two main characters found each other within the first few chapters but it was love at first sight. Most people don't believe that a person can meet someone and find love instantly. I believe in the love of Mason and Lennox because they both had dreams but Mason gave up on his dream to run his dad's store. Lennox is given the chance to make her dream come true but will love get in her way. I am ready to ready the next book to see what happens between Mason and Lennox.
I received a copy of this book through the Quill and Ink Review Team on Facebook in exchange for a fair and honest review. I enjoyed so much this book. It had everything I was looking for when I started reading it. Falling in love and having to make choices...sigh... Mason and Lennox are fantastic together. I can't wait for book 2 because I cried and I was so frustated at the end !!!!
I received my copy of A Chance At Forever through the Quill & Ink Review Team on Facebook.
I did enjoy the story of Mason and Lennox. It was very well written, sweet and funny at times. I liked both characters. It just didn't captivate me. I am looking forward to seeing how the story plays out!!
I received a copy of this book through the Quill and Ink Review Team on Facebook in exchange for a fair and honest review... This young adult, instalove romance with an original storyline follows the lives of Mason who has had to give up his dreams on the death of his father and Lennox who has unfulfilled dreams of her own.
There are elements of this story which are sweet; the relationship between Mason and Lennox is at times romantic and humorous for example Mason's views on how a gentleman behaves to his date is engaging. Although there are elements of this book I enjoyed on the whole I did not find the characters believable and several of them including the two main protagonists acted, at times, completely out of character. I do not want to say too much about this for fear of spoiling the story for those who read it but an example of this contradictory behavior is Lennox's father who is supportive and loving towards his daughter and her new boyfriend and then suddenly becomes heavy handed about it all.... Lennox and Mason also exhibit this type of personality changes and in the end I did not feel invested in their lives.
The story itself is interesting and I enjoyed it enough to read to the end but I was not captivated by it and although it finished in a cliffhanger I did not feel immediately compelled to buy the next in the series..
WOW...I had already read book 2 & 3 in this series and I fell in love with Mason and Lennox so I had to read how it all began when they were younger, how they first met, how they fell in love and I'm glad I did. Their beginning is beautiful and heartbreaking at times, needing tissues at times with the emotions coming off the pages between these two and it made me understand more of their relationship as it continued in the other books. I loved how strong Lennox was when it came to Ashley, fighting back, standing up for herself and not taking all the stuff Ashley flung her way but also how she voiced her fears to Mason, being afraid of leaving him and wanting to give up her dream for him. Mason is a young man that I couldn't help falling in love with as well, he would do anything for Lennox, loving her and letting her go when he had to so she could fulfill and make her dreams come true. All three books are worth the read and I highly recommend the entire series...LOVED IT!!
I've had this downloaded on my Nook for quite some time and finally decided to give it a read. It was a cute almost insta-love story with a bit of a cliffhanger ending.
I kind of adore stories that start with the new girl moving to town and the guy falling hard for her from the start. This book had that with an added dose of lost dreams, absent parents, and a conniving "ex" to get in the way. One thing I wish was done differently, is exploring Lennox's love for singing a bit more throughout the book. How passionate she was kind of came as a bit of a surprise. I also would have liked more background on her father and Mason's brother. I'm hoping to see more of that in the rest of the series.
That's right, it's a series, so we have more of Mason and Lennox to come. I'm glad because I feel like there are many ways this story could go and I'm glad the author felt like there was more to tell.
I was hesitant at first because of the young age, Mason (19) and Lennox (18). Both have a sad past and are mature for their age but still make some naive decisions. Even though I'm not a huge fan of insta-love, Mason & Lennox are just so freaking great together and make it feel so real. They're both young and have difficult choices to make regarding their future. I love Mason's character. He's so charming and kind. Lennox is sweet and has a bright future ahead. All the characters are well developed and very entertaining. The storyline is well paced and flows smoothly. The one this I didn't like was the cliffhanger. Definitely left me wanting more! Can't wait to see what the future holds for these two.
This was my first book by K.B. Andrews, and I enjoyed it. It was an easy read about Mason and Lennox's love story. It is about insta-love and has high school drama. I liked Mason a lot. He showed maturity above his age, and was really great through-out the story. Lennox is your typical teenager girl, which wasn't bad, just wasn't surprising. It was very slow in the beginning, but once the story plot picked up, the book picked up speed, it was easier to read once past the first few chapters. If you like young love, with high school drama, than this is the book for you, but it is the first book of a trilogy which means this book kinda ends on a cliffhanger. Young love, with high school drama, And awesome leading male!
This is my first reading experience with K. B. Andrews. A solid 4 STARS story of falling in love and making dreams come true. Having missed out on fulfilling his own dreams, Mason Reynolds is bitter and jaded. Just one look at the green eyed beauty and Mason finds himself falling hard and fast. Starting fresh in a new town with her dad, Lennox Madison quickly finds a love that's "bone-deep." From a young age she's had big dreams. "(She) never thought (she) would be forced to choose between the love of (her) life and (her) dream." I'm anxious to see how their story will continue in the next installment, A Second Chance At Forever!
Amazing. An amazing first love romance so adorable and addictive. The storyline flowed flawlessly with ease and amusing situations along with very swoon worthy moments. I adore the different character perspectives which is must and the best way to read. The characters were consuming, the lead Lennox was sweet, strong and lovable, the male lead Mason was incredible a true gentleman, lover and friend. The supporting characters were so fun and I was very amused by the drama that arose and reading the main characters learn and deal with situations thrown their way. I look forward to continuing with the series a definite recommended read.
This sweet, enjoyable romance about young, first love is my first book by this author. Mason and Lennox are instantly attracted to each other when they first meet and fall head first in love pretty fast. These two sizzle! Romance, drama, heartbreak, and steam all fill this story of lost dreams and new opportunities. Mason is a great guy and is willing to do anything for Lennox.....including letting her go to follow her dreams. I look forward to following their story in the next books and finding out if they get their HEA. I sure hope so!
Mason is a business owner at the age of 19 since his dad died. He was supposed to go to Notre dame and play soccer, but stayed home with his brother to help him with the business. He has never been in love.......until Lennox walks into his boat shop. It is instant attraction for both of them. Even though they want nothing more to be together, Mason must let Lennox go to Nashville to pursue her music career. I was moved by this book and can't wait to read the others in the series. I voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review.
OMG this book had me on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish! I couldn’t put it down even If I wanted to. I loved that Lennox and Mason grew both as characters and as a couple, and that they were able to overcome their shortcomings and face their fears. I’ve read too many books where the characters remained two-dimensional, so it was refreshing to read a book where the main characters were three-dimensional and completely believable. The journey Lennox and Mason took me on makes me super excited to see what happens next!
This book was sweet and well written. It captured the innocence of first love and pure romance. I loved how the relationship between Lennox and Mason was fully developed and we were able to feel it and capture their emotions as it progressed.Sometimes decisions are tough at that age. Do you pick your love or you dreams? I can't wait to read the second book and see what happens with the characters and their relationship. KB Andrews is a master at spinning a story and making you feel invested in the characters and the outcomes.
This book was amazing. Lennox is a senior in high school when her dad divorces her mom and they move. Sheîh 7 meets Mason when her dad needs to dock boat and Mason let's him. Then he asks her out and she says yes. They fall in love . Lennox gives him her virginity. A record producer hears her. She has to make decision to follow dream or give it up and stay there.
