Hold Me Tight and Never Let Me Go

When Book Five of the Crimson Coven series didn't end with a cliffhanger I figured the author would let us take a collective breathe...which didn't last for long. This is exactly why I try to have on my Kindle two, preferably more books of a new or reoccurring series on hand. I had Numbers Six, Seven, and Eight the latest of the Coven books, as I approached my vacation (finally!). Seven started with a bang and ended with one.

If you're a Crimson or MM Vampire fan you gotta read this series. Some say it's to sappy and sweet...yeah until the knocking around and killing starts. Until people (Vamps) are racing against time to save a Chosen (mate) or Coven member. If it weren't for the romantic interludes these action packed (sometimes) novellas would be too dark and classify as horror. And since I mentioned the length of the books, I just want to say I love that they are not hundreds of pages long. At times it is refreshing to read a story in two days, because your schedule is otherwise jam packed. Then have one equally as engaging to begin immediately.

Suddenly finding one's Chosen under less than idea circumstances... the presence of blood and trying to reconstruct what happened, trying to put a plan together to save him, attempting not to go out of your mind with worry and rage. Racing against the clock to find him alive. Determined to exact retribution on the one responsible for a kidnapped Chosen. Dying a little each hour imaging the possible horrors his beloved is enduring. For a big tough Crimson Coven guard dealing with all these emotions is difficult. Having no control is maddening.

The Chosen has had the misfortune of being born an Omega Wolf shifter. He's small, with little fighting ability, used to servitude, and never expecting to meet his Fated Mate. He has a terrible existence at the house of the Sorcerer Lucien. A betrayal leaves him physically and mentally reeling. Sick to his stomach at having been so naive to believe that the one who ended up betraying him was a friend. The bad treatment he received at the whim of the Sorcerer's handler are nothing in comparison to what he's being made to endure at the hands of a large brute, whose sadistic nature knows no bounds. Never expecting to be rescued he is shocked when it happens.

In all his years the eighteen year old Omega Wolf had never imagined there would be someone out there to care for him. When he finally gets in his arms, the Omega once to be held tightly and never let go. His Vampire is more than happen to do so. But wait folks the story doesn't end there... You'll have to read Book Eight to find out what happens!!

The Crimson Omega By B.A. Stretke

Omega Perry lost his parents at an early age. His Uncle sold him to the witch, Clinesmith, 2 years ago. Since then he's been at her beck and call until she's killed. When her homes defenses go down after her death and everyone is free to leave Perry stays. He doesn't realize that by doing so he may be putting his life in greater danger.

Vampire Talbot is a warrior of the Crimson Coven. When he goes to Clinesmith's he discovers his Chosen was recently there, but was taken by force. He'll stop at nothing to find him and save him.

Perry and Talbot are good together, but I had a hard time feeling their emotions. The angst was on the low side.

This is the first book in this series that I've read. It was good and maybe good enough to purchase a single book in it here and there that might catch my eye, but not enough for me to purchase the whole series. I like this author's writings, but there is always that something extra that is missing that makes me crave reading more of his books.

I was absolutely enthralled by this story. Poor Perry was beaten down so much and close to dying before he even gets to meet his chosen. Talbot (even I was in awe of him) knew that Perry was his chosen simply by the taste of his blood and the scent that was left in the room that Perry occupied before he was brutally kidnapped to be sold by someone who he considered to be his friend. I like that at least one of the main characters knew who his mate was early in the story. Very nice change. I also appreciated how the author used words that truly made me feel the emotions that were being expressed in the story by the characters. I enjoyed this excerpt in the overall plot of things, immensely. Every time a vampire, wolf, dragon or sorcerer, find their mates, I just get chill bumps. Loved it. =)

Vampire/wolf romance

This is a short story with a lot of action and a deepening conspiracy. Someone is trying to get a wolf pack and the Crimson vampires to go to war. In this story Talbot Yates, twin brother of Tobias and his chosen go back to the mansion he was held captive to find Perry Kirk, an omega wolf. Unfortunately they are a few hours late as Perry has been kidnapped by a human servant to be sold to a wolf pack. Talbot realizes Perry is his mate and goes to the rescue with danger around they are assisted by a wolf pack. Talbot and Perry get their HEA but we know more trouble is coming. The series is exciting and I am going to keep reading.

Truly awful. There is no sense of the characters; they are just cardboard figures. The editing is truly egregious with run-on sentences, missing commas, and more. It's one of those books were the editing mistakes just keep smacking you in the face. Stretke has done a million books in both his werewolf and his vampire series but he doesn't think enough of his readers to study up on his grammar or, better yet, hire an editor. I guess if he can get the readers/buyers then he doesn't care about the quality. Needless to say that, even on KU, I didn't finish.

Love this series

This book felt slightly more rushed than the previous ones. I would have liked to have seen more through Perry's POV since this book was almost solely Talbot's experience.

I do love where the series is going, and this book opened up a whole new level of intrigue into why things have been happening with the Crimson Coven lately.
