Hitman on Campus

A Bad Boy Romance

I was told to keep her close – what’s closer than in my bed?

Caleb

I'm deadly and dangerous - not to mention completely irresistible. The youngest hitman the Irish mob has ever seen. Not some f*cking bodyguard.

But the boss's daughter is heading back to college with a threat on her life, and I can't exactly say no when I'm told to protect her. A few weeks of hot girls and college parties doesn't sound so bad anyway.

Except that's not what I get.

Alana Sullivan is smoking hot, with a body just made for wrapping around my c*ck, but she doesn't do parties. Or drinking. Or anything remotely fun.

F*ck me.

She's completely off limits. A good girl with no clue about her dear daddy's activities. And all I can think about is corrupting her - one soul-destroying orgasm at a time.

Screw it. I don't play by the rules. If I have to follow her to classes and study groups and - yes, really - the library, I'm going to have some fun.

And she'll never know what hit her.

Alana

I can't stop thinking about the new guy in my classes. He seems to be everywhere I look, and it's driving me crazy.

It's not his playboy-looks, cocky attitude or scorchingly-arrogant smile. Well...maybe a little.

But I swear he's different. Covered in tattoos, rough and dangerous like nothing I've ever known - and he talks dirty. Like filthy, panty-melting suggestions that make me want to slap him and kiss him at the same time.

He's so not my type. I don't do bad boy jerks with one-track minds.

But what kind of bad boy never misses a class and turns up at the library every day?

He's hiding something. And I'm going to find out what it is.

Hitman on Campus is a fun, sexy college romance with a twist of steam, action and suspense. It has a guaranteed HEA and no cheating or cliffhangers!

This isn't working for me 😞

Even the details were off...

As in at the beginning the guy has green eyes then a few chapters later he suddenly has blue eyes...

Yeah, i get that i might sound petty but that's only a small fissure of the whole mozaic of things/moments/situations that are just "off"

So, I m not rating it, since i didnt finish 😳😒

Caleb is a hitman for the Irish mob, but when he is given a different kind of task will he rise to the challenge or fail completely?

Caleb is known in the Irish mob for being a great hitman and all around playboy, something he learned from his father all his life. When a threat toward the boss' daughter comes through he goes to Caleb to ask that he become a bodyguard of sorts. Caleb knows saying no to his boss is impossible so he agrees thinking it will be a couple of days of parties, women, and relaxation. Instead, he gets a woman who has no clue of her father's real job and is a straight-laced student. Caleb still has a job to do so he joins her classes and follows her around. Alana finds her new next-door neighbor hot, but thinks that hes a playboy and out of her league. Little by little they start to get to know each other and start to form an intimate relationship, even though his cocky attitude still gets on her nerves. When the threat starts to get even more real and their is a problem on campus, Caleb swoops her away to a safe house, where he comes clean about his job, the fact that her father isn't an accountant like she thinks, and the threat against her. Even though her trust in him was shattered she can't deny she loves him and goes to him for the complete truth. Unbeknownst to them, the threat is from an inside source and has been watching. When Alana is taken, will Caleb be able to pull through even though hes injured?

This was a great mob story! Had everything I look for when reading a mafia romance: blood, love, and violence. Loved Caleb's instinct to protect her at all cost even without it being the instructions from his boss. I did think Alana was a little naive, BUT the fact that she wasn't raised with her father at all times would explain why she never noticed his job and took what he said at face value. I think in the end their fight for their love and each other was great! Would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for mafia romance!

Great college girl and mafia hitman romance

Alana Sullivan’s life is being threatened. Only she doesn’t have a clue this is all happening while she’s back at college. Patrick Sullivan is Alana’s father who is the boss of the irish mob. With the looming threat to her life he sends Caleb Stone, one of his hitman, to protect his daughter from this assassin until they can find out more. Caleb is undercover in the guise of a student. When he gets close to Alana-- like right next door to her dorm room-- he can’t resist the attraction, even though Alana is off limits and is immune to his attempts to charm her. Alana’s feisty, goody two shoes, innocence and attitude is a challenge for Caleb. And he’s ready to break all the rules to get a taste of her. But Caleb has to keep secrets from Alana about her father. She has no idea that her father is involved in mob business, and he wants to keep it that way.

Caleb is a reluctant bodyguard, going insane from boring lectures and “studying” at the library. I found him funny, overly confident, and cocky. The banter between Alana and Caleb are funny at times. And there were some laugh-out-loud moments that’s irresistible. Caleb is crude and rough around the edges as he has no idea how to woo a woman, he’s never had to chase one. I laughed how Caleb describes the weird first date with Alana, as a whacked out dating show:

“She likes long, romantic walks along the beach, dinner dates and sweet baby animals, and generally being a good person. He likes parties, sex and drugs, martial arts and violence - oh, and makes a living killing people.”

Hitman On Campus is a fun read with steamy sex, humor and suspense. With Alana, Caleb questions his lifestyle choices and wants a future with her as a better man. Mel and Lily were wonderful BFF’s and great addition to the story. Lots happen towards the end, and I cheered for Alana with how she stood up to her father. Loved the epilogue and satisfying ending. A sexy, sweet romance, one I recommend.

My first time...

This is my first time reading Lara Swann. HOC wasn't what I expected, but I wasn't disappointed. The book contains a bonus story, HOC ended around 55%.

Alana is a sophomore in college and, unknowingly, a mafia princess. Patrick Sullivan, the Irish mafia boss in Baltimore, has been receiving threats on his daughter's life. His assigns his best hitman to be her bodyguard.

Caleb is one of best, if not the best, hitmen in Maryland. He learned everything he knows from his father, and being a bodyguard wasn't one the skills he was taught. However, Caleb knows not to say no.

There is insta-lust, mainly on Caleb's part. He's hesitant because he knows there are consequences if he acts on what he's feeling. Alana is attracted to him, but she doesn't want to get hurt by the "bad boy". Caleb becomes Alana's shadow and gets know her better, and his lust grows into more
Alana knows little about Caleb, but she believes there is more to him than the bad boy.

When danger closes in, secrets are revealed. Can the couple move past the deception, betrayal, and death threats looming over them?

I love these type of stories. I was excited to start this one when I found it. I loved the premise, but the writing style and characters did not hold my attention. Poor execution.

There was nothing about either Caleb or Alana that I found interesting. I felt as if everything was told to me. The characters were just going through the motions. After awhile, I felt it was a lot of blah.

This is my opinion, you may love it.

Lara is a new author to me so this was a great introduction to her books. It had a great storyline and I liked how all characters had their own personalitly. The interactions between each character was good and it kept the story flowing. There were a few parts that did slow down a bit for me but it wasn’t long until it picked right back up and make me unable to put the book down.
I just loved Caleb! He was such a bad boy but there were times when his softer and sweeter side came out. I loved how this story began when we got to know how and why Caleb would be around Alana right from the beginning.
I loved all the teasing that happens between him and Alana when they first met, it was so funny sometimes. I loved how she wouldn't take any of his, or her father’s, s**t and how strong and sassy she was no matter what Caleb did at the start. I liked the fiery chemistry and hot moments they had between them.
It was a really good read with a cute ending, 4.5 stars

Alana is a second year biology student at the University of North Carolina who along with her friends Mel and Lily spends most of her time studying and in the library. She has no idea her father Patrick Sullivan isn't the accountant she always thought he was. Caleb Stone has been sent by his boss, Patrick Sullivan, head of the Irish Mob to watch over his daughter while he looks into some threats against her life. Caleb a hitman trained by his father, Gerard Stone, is not prepared for this undertaking at all. This was a very interesting book and very well written. I haven't read anything by this author before and after reading this book I look forward to reading more. The characters were well thought out and I loved Mel and Lily. I hope they both get books because I would love to read about them getting a HEA. I voluntarily received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I voluntarily read this book as an ARC!
Love it! First I have read from this Author.
Caleb is assigned to protect the daughter of his boss. This job requires him to go to college and follow her around campus. He also lives next to her. When he starts to do his job, he never misses a class and is in the library way to much for Alana's comfort. He also did some flirting when helping her unload her boxes to move in. She finds his behavior odd. Alana is the daughter of Patrick Sullivan, an Irish mob boss. Caleb finds he likes her. The banter between them is fun and she is nothing like the other women he has been with. But the threat to her life is real and her father is unable to find the person responsible. If Caleb gets too close will he risk her life and his job?
Love this book. Great story!

If you can put aside the whole Caleb kills people for the mob thing then it is a relatively entertaining bad boy/good girl NA romance with alot of sex. One thing that really bugged me though was the first time they have sex Alana is expecting it to be a fun one night stand with a hot guy she doesn’t really know that much about (plus she knows he sleeps around) yet she tells him it is ok not to use a condom because she is on the pill. No, no it is not ok. Condoms aren’t just to prevent pregnancy – they are to prevent sexually transmitted diseases too. You might make this choice in a relationship or if you know & trust your partner but come on. She barely knows the guy and she was expecting a one night stand.

Alana is the daughter of the boss of the Irish Mob, and when he starts receiving threats against her, he sends his youngest hitman Caleb to protect her. Caleb ends up staying next door to Alana on campus, and when these two meet there is an instant and intense attraction between them.
What will happen when things are not as they appear, and secrets filter out?? You really need to read this for yourself, as this is a great read. This author has done a great job in writing this storyline, and I was hooked throughout. Well done Lara, I look forward o reading more of your work in the future.

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun, charming, and funny read at times too. Caleb was sent in to protect Alana. He dad is the Mafia boss and he's had threats on his daughter's life. Caleb is charming, sexy, sinful and cocky! But he's not overly arrogant with it. He gets under her skin in a big way. He also brings out her fun side.
Alana is a boring, nerdy girl, who is more interested in studying than boys. Until Caleb comes along and changes all that.
Alana did annoy me at times. How she could forgive Caleb pretty much straight away but not her father? And Caleb annoyed the hell out of me with using "hun" all the time.

This was a first time read for me by this author, I liked her writing style and sense of humor. I love Hitman books, so when I find a new Author with a Hitman book to read I am excited to dig in! I thought this book, was great, I loved the overall humorous aspect from almost all the characters, Caleb's absolute protective alpha sexy beast nature. Those hot sexy scenes, the awesome plot twists and the excellent HEA. I look forward to reading some more of this authors books. This is a book I will read again!

This is the first book I have read by Lara Swann. I love a good mob/hitman story with a woman in the middle of all the action. I would say that Lara had all the elements of a good mob related story. The characters all seemed to work with the story line and even the minor characters had their parts in making this a good book. She kept my interest in the book. I mean, what more could you ask for in a book? You have a very young and cocky hitman, a naive mob princess, suspense, humor, laughter, and can’t forget the panty melting sex. Yep, this is a book that I would recommend in a heartbeat.

Caleb is the youngest hitman in the Irish Mob. He is lethal, dangerous, and wanted by many women. He isn’t too happy when the mob boss, Patrick Sullivan tells him to go to the campus and protect his daughter. Her life has been threatened and her father isn’t taking any chances. Only problem is Caleb can’t’ tell her about her father, which means he can’t tell who he actually is. He is bored going to her classes and to the library to study. So, he decides he is going to have some fun. And he doesn’t care that Alana is off limits. He is going to have her….and he is going to have fun doing it.

Alana Sullivan is the Irish Mob princess. She has a new guy in her classes and he seems to be everywhere she is. Alana knows this guy is different and lot of it must do with his tattoos and has a rough rugged look. Oh, and she can’t seem to get over his dirty mouth. She knows he is up to something and she is going to find out what it is. Alana knows that Caleb is hiding something and she intends to find out what it is.

Caleb isn’t sure how to handle her because she is a good person, yet she is feisty, and her innocence is a challenge to him. Yet they are two different people, it is kind of like Romeo and Juliet. Caleb is so unsure of himself. He doesn’t know how to handle a woman like Alana. She is way out of his league but he intends to have her.

No Spoilers. Advanced Reader Copy read voluntarily.

First let me say, this is just such a fabulous story! I had expectations of the same old, usual bad boy formula – but this book blew those ideas and expectations right out of the water!

Alana, the daughter of Patrick Sullivan, an Irish mob boss, is a sweet college girl that Caleb is assigned to protect -- unknown to her. She bumps into him at her dorm – he’ll be her neighbor this semester. As he helps her get her boxes from the car, he flirts continuously with her, keeping her off-balance and flustered.

Caleb has to keep a close watch on Alana, but instead of blending in, she notices he is everywhere she is and she finds it hard to believe he never misses class and actually goes to the library! There’s a mystery here! He is certainly not like other guys. And for Caleb, she is so different from the women he has been with. She resists his charms, and their light-hearted banter is actually fun! Where is this all leading? The killer is out there and the mob boss has been unable to find out who it is! Will Caleb be able to protect her from the death threat she isn’t even aware of? And what will he do when his part of the job is finished and he returns to Baltimore without her?

I love the struggle Caleb has trying to keep his distance from Alana while staying close to her for her protection. It’s obvious that relationships are totally out of his comfort zone! But despite the violent nature of the circumstances for his being there, a comfortable connection between them still develops. Maybe he can find something more this time? The tension and suspense never let up! This is a great story, suspenseful, humorous, witty. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed this story a lot! It had great characters that I became engaged with in the beginning of the story. Alana has no idea what her dad does and has been blissfully unaware. Caleb grew up in the mob lifestyle as his father is a hitman and taught his son as he grew up. Threats have been made against Alana and they don't have a clue who is doing it, so Caleb is sent in to protect her. It's made more complicated by the fact that he isn't a bodyguard normally, instead a hitman, and that Alana has no idea what her father does or that she's in danger. Caleb has to keep close to her and protect her without having her become suspicious about someone following her.
Caleb is drawn to Alana from the beginning. He doesn't exactly know what to do with it since she is supposed to be off limits as she's the boss's daughter and he only ever has casual flings. He's not sure what to do with the emotions she draws from him and the guilt he feels for lying. I loved the way that this story blended the action and relationship/romance. I thought it was really well done. The pacing of the story was great. I was drawn in and engaged the entire time. The sex is explicit. I enjoyed it and thought it fit the story perfectly. There's a twist in the story and it will keep you intrigued. I loved the character development that we got. Both characters have to grow in their relationship. Caleb had more to learn and I loved getting to see that. I would love to get to see a little more of them and maybe get Alana's friends stories.

Caleb has grown up in the Irish mob, he’s never known anything else. His dad is the right hand man for Irish mob boss Patrick Sullivan. Caleb has trained with his father and is one of the youngest, most successful hitmen ever to work for Sullivan. When a threat to Sullivan’s daughter becomes too real, he knows that he has just the man to keep her safe on campus. Caleb. Who better than a handsome, cocky young man to blend in following her around at school?

Alana has no idea what her Dad does for a living. She’s grown up with her mom, away from the mob and maintains a friendly, visitation relationship with her Dad (the straight laced accountant in her mind.)

Caleb moves in next door to Alana in the dorms and tries to get close to her, but she is resistant to his come-ons and sees through his cocky charm. As Caleb spends more time with her and around her however, he starts to have real feelings for Alana and is now not only determined to keep her safe, but to also have her for his own. He knows that any relationship between them can only end badly, and likely with him dead at the hands of her father, but she’s worth the risk.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author, but won’t be the last! I loved the banter back and forth between Alana and Caleb as they got to know each other. The story moved quickly and had some very funny moments. The relationship between Alana and Caleb had a slow burn to it and then once they gave into temptation it was hot!

No cliffhanger. Standalone. HEA. Great read!

Caleb and Alana are an unlikely pair. Caleb works for the mob as a hitman. Alana is the boss's daughter and has no idea of his involvement/leadership in the mob. Quite the task for the boss, but when threats come in against Alana's life - he's beside himself. He tasks Caleb with the job of protecting her. Caleb may be a fantastic hitman, but he knows nothing of being a bodyguard, much less college and science classes. OH...and Alana can't know about any of this or everything her father has been protecting her from will come crashing over her entire world.
This was a great story. Their first meeting was both sexy and comical. There was plenty of chemistry as Caleb does his best to protect her without any interaction and involvement. That's short lived and before you know it they are practically glued at the proverbial hip. Their kisses were enough to make my kindle smoke. I haven't been moved as a reader by kissing in quite some time. Caleb is in constant turmoil between his feelings for Alana and his job (and what will happen to him once the relationship is known). That's about the time the suspense really comes in full force. My mind was constantly reeling trying to figure out who was after Alana. In the end, I was shocked and delighted at how it all played out. I would easily recommend this book.

Caleb is the youngest hitman for the Irish mob in Baltimore. One day the boss calls him and tells him his next assignment is to be a bodyguard for the boss' daughter at college. Someone has been sending the boss pictures and threatening letters. Caleb feels that being a bodyguard will be a real tough assignment but no one says no to the boss. Also campuses are known for their parties and wild times. Then he meets Alana. Alana is a gorgeous girl who has no idea how beautiful she is. She is smart and focused on her school work. Instead of parties, she spends her nights studying at the library.
Alana doesn't know what to think of her dorm room neighbor. Caleb is hot looking but has a dirty mouth. She doesn't know whether to be offended or attracted. Every time she turns, he is there. Her friends encourage her to try new things, especially with him. Their romance is passionate. Caleb finds himself falling more and more in love with a girl who is totally opposite of him. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my review.

Caleb, a Hitman for the Irish Mafia is called into the office of Sullivan, the Boss man. There he is assigned the task of being a bodyguard for his college daughter, Alana. Sweet, innocent, naive Alana has no clue about her father's true profession. Caleb is shocked but one does not tell the Boss no. So with great reluctance he goes to college hoping to blend in while looking out for her safety. What he doesn't count on is falling for her beauty. This only complicates his job. It is so interesting as Caleb struggles between his heart's forbidden desires and his loyalty to the Mafia Boss. Alana is also attracted to the hot, muscled man but senses that he is keeping a lot of secrets from her. Action really heats up when those secrets begin to surface and an enemy rises up for revenge in a dramatic way. Edge of your seat suspense! I received an advanced copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed this book.

This is my first Lara Swann book and I was unsure as to what to expect. This book is so different from all the other hitman books that I have read. What sets this story apart from the other hitman offerings is that it is mostly story with some sex thrown in and very little violence. The story itself kept my attention and was entertaining and constantly kept you in the dark as to who was threatening Alana. There is not a lot of background on the characters but just enough to let you know who they are and where they are coming from. The story is told from both Alana and Caleb's point of view. This wonderful author also gave the one thing I feel is essential to these short books - an epilogue. The epilogue did a fantastic job of wrapping up the story and giving us closure for almost all of the characters. Give this unexpected gem a chance and read it.

I voluntarily read and am reviewing an advance copy of this book.
This is a bad boy meets good girl romance story. However the interaction between Caleb and Alana is much more. Caleb is sent to Alana: college to watch over her as there have been threats on her life. Alana's father, unbeknownst to her is the head of the Irish mafia in Baltimore. Caleb does his best to be her bodyguard while all the time trying to fight his feelings for her.
As Caleb and Alana dance around their feelings for each other the hit man is still threatening her. As Caleb forms a relationship with Alana he begins to question the life he always thought he was meant to have. As the scenario plays out and Alana is threatened by the hitman Caleb decides he needs to tell Alana everything regardless of the fact that it will probably push her away and her father will kill him.
This is a nice romance story between the alpha bad boy and the good girl.

4.5 stars This is another excellent book by Ms. Swans. The idea of a hit man being on a college campus playing bodyguard turned into a really good story. The author gives us insight into the characters slowly so we get to know them as they do one another. The story is a contemporary romance with intrigue, suspense and a mob boss as well as a hit man. Alana is a 2nd year college student. She has been kept out of her father's Irish mob activities until threats are made on her life. Caleb is a hit man ordered to keep her safe. The story includes violence and sex. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to future books by this author. FYI: Amazon is posting after the reviews if they area verified purchase or not, though I don't see how it matters.

Very enjoyable

The hot blonde stud on the cover caught my eye and im glad it did. Cute story about a young flirtatious mob hitman Caleb who was trained from the time he was little by his very own hitman single father to work for the Irish mob. So the story starts off with Caleb I believe just finishing a hit and happens to get called back in to speak to the boss who orders him to protect the bossmans naive daughter on campus by posing as another biology major who happens be her new dorm mate right next door. Caleb is one of the top hitman and instead of another hit, he is sent unbeknownst to her to be bodyguard. And to top it off, Alana believes her distant father is some sort of an accountant, not even aware her dad is in let alone the HEAD of the Irish mob. Cute story, not too long and had a nice flow, my only question: Can I have my own Caleb? Lol

I really enjoyed this fast read about Caleb and Alana. Caleb is the youngest Hitman for Patrick Sullivan, the Boss of the Irish mob in Baltimore and Alana's dad. A hitman-turned-bodyguard for his boss' daughter makes for a fun and flirty read! Caleb and Alana couldn't be more different, and it brings out so much humor when he has to adapt to college life suddenly. Alana is a good student who has no clue what her daddy's been up to, but somehow Caleb makes her want to do things she's never done before. Caleb is just one sexy beast, and Alana has some good sass to her. Lighter than most mafia books but still plenty full of sizzle!
