Blood Courtesans

Caught: Katharine

Rate this book
She trusted him with her future. How could she have known it was her heart she had to protect…

I know stealing is wrong but those poor, forgotten children needed my help.
I had no other choice. For a few short weeks, I made a real difference.
But my luck ran out. In the blink of an eye, I went from an angel of mercy to a mouse caught in a trap.

Now, I have a choice to make…give up everything I’ve ever known or trust a vampire to make it all go away.
He says he can give me back my life, my career…everything I’ve worked so hard to achieve.
But there’s a price…

In a world where blood is a commodity and sex is the prize, this cold, aloof vampire is my only way out…or is he?

The Vampire Blood Courtesans.
It's not supposed to be about love...until it is.

Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

REVIEW

Katherine is a nurse and a damn good one or at least she has always aimed to be. She has lost her family and thanks to her best friend Vanessa she is coping.

Well she thinks her life is normal until one night she is lured by what? A child yep a child needs her help only she finds more than she bargained for.
Then everything spirals out of control and next she knows she is being primped and prodded and seduced by one very sexy man.
Roarke!!

This book gives us action, suspense and a whole lot of hot. I enjoyed it very much and hope there is more in the future.

This is a fast paced and action packed story. I read it from cover to cover! This well written installment of the Blood Courtisan series moves quickly, with well developed characters and plenty of twists and surprises. Roark is jaw dropping deliciously decadent. When he set his sights on Katherine I knew I wasn't putting this down until the end.
Katharine is a nurse who came upon a group of abused children that desperately needed her help. But in doing so her life was about to change forever when the money runs out, she gets fired, and the vampires she rescued the children from want their food source back... She needs protection so she agrees to become Roarke 's blood courtesan and in return he will restore her career and life to her. In his world blood and sex are a commodity. Katharine's body responds to Roark from the start.... how is she ever going to protect her heart?

I quite enjoyed this, it was a quick easy read. If more time had been spent on developing the relationship between Roake and Katharine it would have been so much better. The writing is good and there is plenty going on in the back story, with twists and turns along the way. The biggest problem with this book is the 'insta' love between out two MC's without any time spent on their time together.

Full of romance, danger and sexiness. I enjoyed the story and the element of danger. Katherine's character was selfless and strong. I liked how she didn't take no crap and tried to help those in need.
The only thing I would've liked to see is more of a relationship between the two, I wanted to see them get to know each other rather then dive right in so to speak.

Katherine gets stuck in a precarious position when she saves a bunch of kids from some vampire drug dealers. Raorke has been pining after Katherine and sees this as his opportunity to get closer to her by protecting her.

This was ok, but the romance was too rushed....the L word being thrown out there with hardly any build up.

I've been staying away from this series because I don't really care for the premise of being a blood courtesan A.K.A prostitute, for a vampire, so even though some of the main stories have sounded interesting, I had decided not to read this series, but when I saw Julia Mills had written a book in this world, I decided to give it a go because I really enjoy her writing. I did enjoy this story, and was glad the blood courtesan thing wasn't too big a part of this book; although the courtesan training scenes did go on a bit long for my likes, but that is a small thing because I enjoyed the rest of the story. Katharine is a nurse, who came across some children that have escaped from a gang of bad vampires that have been feeding on them, so she does what she can to help keep the children hidden from the bad vamps, but the bad vamps want the children back and are threating Kat, and on top of that threat the children got sick and need antibiotics, so Kat made the decision to steal medicine for them and got caught. She is in trouble, but luckily Roarke comes to her aide. Kat becomes Roarke's blood courtesan, and has told Kat he will help her and the children. I enjoyed the action and suspense throughout the book, and I enjoyed that there's a sense of danger in the story. I liked Kat's feistiness; although I do think she was a little too quick in accepting the whole blood courtesan thing, but for the most part she maintained her character. The romance is actually pretty sweet, and the intimate scenes will definitely heat your blood. I do like vampire stories, so I'm all on board for that, and I do think Roarke was a nice contrast between badass and sweetheart. I'm still on the fence about reading other blood courtesan books, but I'll just have to take it on book by book basis. Entertaining and fun!

Katharine and Roarke, wow quite a pair. Katharine is a woman with a heart of gold who can't stand vamps and works at a hospital. All is good until she finds a group of underfed and abused kids who have been used by bad vamps for food. It tugs on her heart so much she spends every penny she has to help hide them and take care of them. They they start getting sick and she has no money and has to steal to take care of them and loses her job. Suddenly she has no job and seems to be the target of the bad vamps who want their kids back.

Enter Roarke, the vamp who will help but for a price. The price is Katharine being his blood Courtesean. She really has no choice because she and the children are in danger even though she knows the sexy vamp may end up taking more than just her blood.

Like normal Julia Mills writes an amazing story with romance, danger, and interesting characters. I like how Roarke is willing to help when he really doesn't have to, at his ageyears old you can get a bit jaded and not care about others, much less humans if your a vamp, but he does. Can they earn a HEA or is this just 2 ships passing in the night?

After the death of her family and the abuse of her "kids", Katharine doesn't trust vampires. When she steals from her work to help the children, her best friend suggests that she call a "good vampire" to help. Upon being arrested, Katharine is helped by one of the good ones, but she is unsure of the motive. Roarke is an ancient vampire whom is attempting to help Katharine and her kids, only catch is he asks her to be his courtesan. Will Katharine be able to overcome her hatred for vamps? Will Roarke and Kat get their happily ever after when inside and outside forces are working against them?

This is the first in the Blood Courtesans series that I have read and I will be going back to read the rest! I'm a big fan of Julia Mills so decided to try out the series and I highly recommend it. You get a vampire whom is willing to lay his life on the line for his love and you get a woman whom is willing to do anything to protect "her" kids. It was a great book and I highly recommend it to vampire lovers! Cannot wait to read more in this series!

Mystery, suspense and excitement packs this story from beginning to end. It begins when Nurse Katharine is walking home late one night and stumbles onto a group of children huddling in an abandoned building. Victims of abusive Vampires. From that point onward, Kat's life takes a turn she cannot predict or control. The drama escalates into breathtaking, explosive action. During the thrilling confusion, she meets Billionaire Roarke, also a vampire. Together they embark on a journey that will captivate and enthrall you. A Blood Courtesan romance at its most intoxicating level. A true jewel among the Blood Courtesan series! I  voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

The only thing wrong with this book was that it was too short!
Nurse Katherine hates vampires. She lost all of her family because of them, and now she faces charges because she stole from the hospital she works in to help children exploited by vampires. Then Vampire Roarke offers her another option for her future if she becomes his blood courtesan...
Yes, of course, inevitably, the air is sizzling between these two, and the ending looks predictable. However, there is more to this plot when all of a sudden crime and murder are introduced.
Great narration style, lots of witty dialogues, fast paced story, and very likeable and realistic characters (if you don't count vampires and billionaires) make this a real entertaining book to read.
I will definitely read more of this series.

I thought this book was a really good read.

I found that there was a really good romance between Katherine and Roarke. I didn't want to put the book down until I had finished it.

There were twists and turns in the book that I didn't think I would seen coming. I was wrong. It was a brilliant read and I awed at the end of the book and you could just imagine being in the book and watch the scene unfold right in front of you.

I also thought that their journey couldn't end there. Their journey was just about to begin together.

It was a well deserved book to read and I would definitely read this again.

Great story, lots of action

High energy and fast paced, this action packed story will keep you reading from cover to cover! In this well written installment of this series the story moves quickly, with fully realized characters and a plot that keeps surprising you. My only complaint is the lack of resolution for some characters at the end, but hopefully they will be completed in another episode. Great story, you should read it!

I have to say this book does justice to the Blood Courtesans set!

This is a fast paced, well written story that will keep you twisting in your seat till you finish reading it. I was not able to put it down, even took it with me every where I went.

It has love, hate, friendship, betrayal and then you have the main lady going from almost dead to alive with twists you just did not see happening until after the twist has hit! This is a edge of your seat read!

Katharine has a heart of gold, caring for children and trying to keep them safe from the monsters that haunt them. Roarke has been watching Katharine for a very long time, wanting to approach her but not wanting to scare her away. When they finally come together due to unfortunate events both their lives change and the heat between them is scorching. Julia Mills captured my attention from the very first page.

Vampire's! Need I say more!

Katharine found herself in a world of hurt and no idea how to fix the situation. Until Roarke entered the picture. She would do whatever it takes to right the situation that goes from bad to worse. All the while she is falling for tall dark and handsome! Love, love, love Julia!

So far it is great

Reading the series so far none of the authors let me down. I must say this story isn't long but it doesn't lack character or action. It was well written and looking forward to the rest of the series that has been sitting in my kindle for quite some time. I am glad I gave the series a chance.

The way to hell is paved with good intentions.
Katharine is a nurse, and a young child asks for her help.
That opens up a whole can of worms.
Arrested, and interrogation, then her apartment is trashed.
This is a fabulous story.😊 kidnapping, threats, ambushes, you name this book has it

Caught: A Vampire Blood Courtesans Romance

Katherine has always hated vampires because of what they did to her family. So when she gets into trouble at work and home a vampire named Roarke is there to help. He wants her to be trained as his courtesan for a month. Can Katherine actually go for this? Great read couldn't put down till finished.

3.5 STARS. First read in the Bitten By Love box set.
I have read quite a few of this series.
This was an enjoyable read and a good plot that was interesting.
I love this authors books and did have a little laugh at the similarities between this Roark and another in a very well known series that I love.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I absolutely enjoyed this fast paced story. Filled with lots of suspense and actions also steamy romance. Who doesn't love a compassionate alpha male like Roark. Another great addition to the Blood Courtesans series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in any way.

The story of Katherine and Roarke is a good one. Katherine has gotten herself in trouble with a bunch of nasty drug dealing Vamps and being Roarke's Courtesan is her only way out. Loads of action and adult fun

A good addition to the Blood Courtesan series

Although Katharine despises all things vampire, she finally realizes there are both good and bad. Roarke is one of the good ones and he wants to keep her alive. This book has as good balance between action and love.
