“Look with kindness and you will always find wonder.”
An introductory picture book for Wonder. A lovely message of kindness and acceptance.
This felt too short, even for a picture book. I really loved some of the artwork, but not all. I remembered absolutely nothing of this book, so had to reread it to recall it, and I really wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t SO short.
I think this book can stand really well as a standalone or if read before starting the series, but if you have already read the entire Wonder saga, reading this book last does hardly add anything at all. And that’s why I feel I’m probably going to forget this book again soon.
I still cherish Wonder #1 and all of its lovely companion books, which I carry always in my heart.

“Mira con amabilidad y siempre encontrarás maravillas.”
Un libro ilustrado introductorio para Wonder. Un hermoso mensaje de amabilidad y aceptación.
Esto se sintió muy corto, incluso para un libro ilustrado. Realmente amé algunas de las imágenes, pero no todas. No recordaba absolutamente nada de este libro, así que tuve que releerlo para recordarlo, y de verdad no lo habría hecho si no fuera TAN corto.
Creo que este libro puede funcionar realmente bien como un libro solitario, o si es leído antes de empezar la serie, pero si ya leíste toda la saga Wonder, leer este libro al final no agrega prácticamente nada. Y es por eso que creo que probablemente pronto vuelva a olvidar este libro.
Todavía sigo amando Wonder #1 y todos sus hermosos libros compañeros, que siempre llevo conmigo en el corazón.

I picked up We're All Wonders by R.J. Palacio last week. It's a story about Auggie Pullman, who was born with a facial difference. This is the children's version of the book written by the same author of Wonder.
The story is told from Auggie's perspective and he talks about how he understands that he isn't ordinary. He does ordinary things but doesn't look like an ordinary boy. He wants others to look at him for who he is, a wonder.
This book educates about the importance of empathy and being kind to others. The reason why children make fun of others in the first place is because they aren't educated about how it's wrong. They think it's funny and don't understand that it hurts others. It's no different than bullying. The world could be such a better place if people could just be kind to each other rather than tear each other apart.

The writing and illustrations are perfect. It's an easy read for younger children. This is a story that can be read by all ages and it belongs in all schools and libraries in my opinion. I'm looking forward to reading the original middle grade version as well.

Un libro ilustrado bastante breve que recoge lo más importante de Wonder. La lección de August y lo plantea de un modo más sencillo, para una audiencia más joven. Las ilustraciones de R.J. Palacio me encantan y pegan de manera increíble con lo que transmite la novela. ¡El regalo perfecto para les peques de la casa!

Lovely idea to introduce the boy whose story was told for somewhat older readers in the author’s earlier book Wonder.
Auggie is not called by name here, but WE know who he is. Well, we who are familiar with the first book do. This is a very simple prequel.
He’s only a little fellow here, which will help young children identify with his story. It will also help parents and teachers show kids that he likes lots of ordinary things that they like. He rides a bike and kicks a ball.
The artwork is based on the imaginative cover of the original book, and our little fellow says other kids make fun of him because:
"I just don't look ordinary. I don't look like other kids."
But his mother says he’s a wonder, and Daisy, his beloved dog, thinks he’s a wonder, too! He imagines flying off in a rocket with Daisy, and the illustrations of him in space and visiting Pluto and some “old friends” who are certainly don't look ordinary either, except to each other.
He looks back at earth, and when he goes back, he hopes everyone can change the way they see.

“En la Tierra hay espacio suficiente para todo tipo de personas”.
We're All Wonders es, definitivamente, un libro que complementa con ilustraciones preciosas la historia de Auggie en Wonder. Obviamente, si no han leído el libro y se quieren preparar para la película, consigan la novela completa, no esta edición ilustrada que está más bien dirigida a niños pequeños.
Lo lindo de esta edición es que con pocas frases y las ilustraciones que la misma autora hizo, nos deja la sensación de alivio y de que todo va a estar bien a pesar de todo lo que te puedan hacer.
We're All Wonders es, definitivamente, un libro que complementa con ilustraciones preciosas la historia de Auggie en Wonder. Based on the book Wonder. This story follows a boy who looks very different and is made fun of. He uses his imagination to escape. This book is about people being the same on the inside and having a different outside.
The art is fun here and the story is saying something profound. No one likes to be made fun of. We can't help the way we look.
It's also a great introduction to the book Wonder for kids. The nephew and niece had a lot of questions with this book.

‘We’re All Wonders’ is the latest addition to R. J. Palacio’s ‘Wonder’ series of books. This time it’s aimed at a much younger audience – it’s a picture story book with a small amount of accompanying text.
Billed as a brand new and original adventure for Auggie Pullman – this one’s all about Auggie and his dog Daisy. The story is a good one, well told and the illustrations (also by Palacio) are lovely. This new book (along with the other ‘Wonder’ books) is now very much a touchstone of the movement to ‘Choose Kind’ – something which seemingly has grown organically of its own accord following the initial publication of ‘Wonder’.
The sentiment and message behind the movement to ‘Choose Kind’ and all three of Palacio’s ‘Wonder’ books is important, laudable and admirable – there is no denying that. Those amongst us who may be too cynical or hard hearted to appreciate the concepts underpinning ‘Choose Kind’, should perhaps take time out to read the ‘Wonder’ books and think again – what harm could that possibly do?
‘We’re All Wonders’ is a simple and straightforward story well delivered – it’s a lovely and important little book delivering a fundamental but hugely important message to us all from Auggie: ‘I know I can't change the way I look. But maybe, just maybe, people can change the way they see’.

Each year my family reads all the Goodreads-award-nominated picture books, and we have been doing this for years. Everyone rates each book and adds a comment and it may (or may not) affect my overall rating. This is book #4 of 2017.
Tara: 3 stars. Nice. I liked the art. Similar message of lots of book but sweet.
Harry (12): 5 stars. Loved it! We're all wonders, yes! [Yes, you are, Harry!] Nice art.
Hank (11): 3.8 stars. I like how they show how everyone is different in some ways.
Lyra (10): 4 stars. I liked it! I love how it says that everyone is a wonder. Great story and pics.
Dave: 3 stars. A picture book riff on Palacio's Wonder (over 5 million sold!), now both written and (digitally) illustrated by her. Basically the same point about kindness and difference, a common picture book theme. Ague looks different, gets bullied, puts on his space helmet, blasts to Pluto with dog Daisy so he can see Earth is large enough to include and tolerate a wide swath of differences. Ok.
I think my indifference about this book has to do with the mass marketing of everything Wonder: myriad spinoff books, film, toys, and so on.

"Look with kindness and you will always find wonder."
I absolutely love 'Wonder' so when I saw there was an illustrated book, I knew I had to read it. Based on the popular series by R.J. Palacio, this work introduces August Pullman to a younger audience. This beautifully illustrated book perfectly compliments the book that inspired it. After all, its never too early to start teaching about the importance of kindness and empathy. A book that is appropriate for all. Very sweet and cute and oh so relevant.
On a different note, I gotta say I love the illustrated books that are nominated for the best children's book of the year. They tackle such a wide range of topics, some very impactful subject matters. I look forward to reading more of them soon.

I loved this book. Every child that feels like they are different can read it and know they are not alone and they are special too. It talks about being different from the other kids, but still the same. I talks about how your feelings get hurt and using your imagination to escape. Then, it talks about how people can be accepting and kind all in simple words that kids can understand. Just right for helping little ones that may not always fit in easily with their peers understand that they are just as wonderful as every other child.

Com a estreia do filme ''Wonder'' que chega hoje aos cinemas, decidi ler este pequeno livro infantil, de pouco texto mas com grande sentimento. Lê-se em 3 minutos mas a mensagem é muito importante. É um óptimo presente para as crianças neste Natal. Apesar da edição ser bonita, em capa dura e em formato grande, o preço é um pouco exagerado...quase 13€. Mesmo assim recomendo tanto este como o livro-mãe: Wonder/Milagre, editado pela ASA.

This is the abbreviated children’s picture book version of R.J. Palacio’s much acclaimed Wonder. It is about a boy with facial deformities who is felt to be a wonder by his immediate family, but he knows that other people look at him differently. He hears the unkind things they say behind his back and his feelings are hurt as a result. He escapes into an imaginary world on Pluto with strange space creatures. He realizes from this far away vantage point that the world is big enough for all kinds of people. He can’t change the way he looks… but maybe people can change the way they view others. This book has wonderful message about kindness. It is a message to everyone to look for the beauty, the wonder, the good in other people. Highly recommended!

I think it needs more pages! Seriously! It was amazing, albeit short. And yes, I get it is for kids and should be short, but it is so beautiful that I just wanted to keep on reading :)

What an amazing book! I love love love "Wonder" the novel, and it's so great to see the message of Auggie's story being portrayed in this beautiful picture book, all done by none other than the author of the novel herself. We need to have more stories like this told to everyone!

However, this doesn't stop him from following his dream of becoming an astronaut as a kid and through his story, he wants people to understand that we are all beautiful and loved, and it's important to spread kindness and empathy towards one another.
The narrative of this story makes it sound so innocent yet inspiring and thoughtful, suitable for all ages. Last but not least, we all should cherish ourselves and do remember:
