Ace Bennet has managed to f@*k everything up. Again. A night of partying causes him to be arrested. Again. But this time it's different: he's ordered to join a work program, and if he fails he'll be sent straight to jail.
The problem?
His new temporary boss is none other than Martina Fierro.
The nerdy girl he made fun of all through high school.
Livia was born in a dusty desert and still loves days so hot they melt your sneakers. She also loves men so hot they melt your panties.
When she isn't writing or thinking up dirty stories (which is rare), she spends her time quilting and baking decadent desserts. Rarely, she attempts to clean her house. It's futile, but she isn't one to give up hope.
Redemption: A Bad Boy Romance is written by Livia Lang.
Ace Bennett is twenty years old and lives in the same small town, Normanville, that he grew up in. His life consists of going to work at his construction job and working himself as hard as he can. In his off hours, he parties. When he’s drunk or high, it helps him to forget what a loser he thinks he is. On the way home one night he is pulled over for speeding and is caught with other substances in his car. He can choose between jail or serving a probation working for a local facility that saves animals. The only problem is that the facility is owned and run by a girl that he bullied all through high school. A girl who he was sure wants nothing to do with him.
Martina Fierro is doing what she dreamed of, running an animal sanctuary. But she is surviving on a shoestring. Martina is a small woman and she is all on her own, trying to do all the heavy work herself. So she signed up for the new work program hoping to get someone to help with the heavy work. But no way did she prepare herself for who showed up, the boy, now man, who made her high school years miserable. The boy she had a crush on and who broke her heart.
“All these years my heart’s just been waiting for you, because you feel right.”
Determined to prove to Martina that he has changed, he works hard both at his tasks and at trying to bridge the gap between them. But Ace’s worst enemy is himself. He blames himself for something that happened years ago that he had no control over. His life has been a downward spiral ever since.
First, I want to say that I loved the cover of this one. It perfectly portrays Ace. But unfortunately, the book didn’t really work for me. I just couldn’t emotionally connect with either character. To me they both came off pretty immature. I’m sure the problem is just with me. Still, I enjoyed reading it and meeting Ace and Martina. It had a cute little epilogue.
Ace is 20 years old and down on himself. the only thing that gets him going is partying and getting high. when he gets caught doing wrong he has choose between a work program or jail. Easy choice until he finds out his boss is Martina. She hates him. She has a pretty good reason. He bullied her all through school. He was intimidated by her and did not understand his feelings for her. He knew she was smart and he thought she was cute. His friends did not agree and he fell in with the crowd. Now they are older, he is stuck in his life and she is doing what she always dreamed. He wants to change and show her that he is a better person. A story of second chances and growth.

This is probably my favorite of all Livia Lang books I have read so far!
Ace Bennet is the ultimate bad boy. He did the bare minimum to graduate from high school, now after graduating he's still doing the drugs and drinking his life away. His father is desperate for anyway to help him, even if means putting him in jail. But he hopes the probation work program will be straighten him up.
But the one woman who Ace is suppose to help is the one he's had feelings for since high school...the one girl he bullied and made her high school life miserable.
This second chance romance is so awesome! I loved getting to watch Ace grow and help out others instead of just himself. Although this is a short novel, the characters are developed and not sloppily, and the fact that both characters are virgins just makes this book 10x better for me =)
This is an enemies to lovers story that highlights regret, redemption and healing. Martina and Ace have a messy history. He and his friends bullied her in high school and made her a pariah among her peers. Now, a few years out of high school, Ace has messed up yet again, to the point that his police officer father has no choice but to arrest him. To stay out of jail, Ace must take part in the work program and do community service. Martina is eager to have some help at her animal sanctuary, but to have the worker assigned to her be the bully who tormented her in high school is a shock. For the sake of his kind father, she agrees to a trial period with Ace has her helper at the sanctuary.
Ace is disgruntled, just as shocked as Martina to find himself as her worker for the next few months, as well as angry at the world and himself. It doesn’t take long for him to admire Martina’s hard work, determination and compassionate care of the animals at the sanctuary. When his father tells him a little bit of Martina’s family history, Ace becomes determined to do his very best while working for her. He finally admits to himself that he has had a long standing crush on her that he didn’t know how to handle and let his peers opinion’s influence him into bullying Martina. Will she give him a chance to apologize?
Martina is understandably wary of Ace. Even though he and his friends bullied her, she still had a crush on him. Now, she doesn’t trust him not to hurt her again or to do something that might cause trouble for her or the sanctuary. His sudden change from angry and surly to pleasant and friendly is disconcerting. She begins to look forward to working with him, though she is not sure she should trust him. Could they possibly become friends or perhaps even more? What happens when his work term ends? Is he just biding his time before he returns to his bullying ways?

Redemption is a really sweet love story about a slightly damaged bad boy and the girl he's secretly wanted for years. Martina has reason to be wary and distrustful of Ace when he's assigned community service at her animal sanctuary because of their not so pleasant history but working so closely together brings new understanding between them and awakens old feelings. Ace comes off more like a teenager than a twenty year old but his character does mature throughout the story which is a plus. I liked the characters, including Ace's father, Clete. Also, as someone else mentioned, the cover is great! A perfect fit for this story. I think Livia Lang is a great writer and I liked this book a lot.

Redemption was the journey of Ace and Martina, the pains of their past and the different road they took that where fate brings them back together.
Ace has found himself in a bad way and in trouble most times after his mother past away. The only thing that is saving him from going to jail is that his dad is a cop and a program for him to work in.
Martina operates the animal sanctuary by herself. It has always been a dream of hers but was a lot of work. Needing help, she put herself on the list with the county, but never expect her high school bully to end up on her door.
I really enjoyed the story and seeing how Martina and Ace help each other find their paths.

Ace Bennett is a mean boy who grew up to be a slacker but con. Who his own father busted for possession. In high school, he was the bully who tortured Martina.
Martina is single handedly running an animal sanctuary. She signed up for the work release program and girl conned into a week of Ace helping her.
Can Ace redeem himself from a life of disparity? It takes a great writer to redeem Ace.

Redemption by Livia Lang. Ace and Martina make a great couple! This is a good former bully/enemy to lover romance, with a very forgiving h and a redeeming H. It has a grade school quality (he pulled her pigtails bc he really likes her) which I though was sweet. I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between the main characters is good. I found this story to be very enjoyable with a good mix of drama, personal conflicts, and strong characters and of course HEA. This book was okay at best. It was advertised as spicy and it was no where near that. It had one spicy scene but even then it was very mild. It was a quick one sitting read but that’s the only thing it has going for it. Ace is a 20 year old kid who is struggling with alcohol and drugs and is forced to do court ordered community service at Martina’s animal shelter. They were enemies in high school but end up falling for each other after. They are both virgins which has the chance to be good but it is very lack luster. All in all it was okay.

It was a sweet, short, and enjoyable romance. What I liked about it most was that the story didn't have a lot of unnecessary drama. Every so often, I just want to read something simple and lovely, and this book was perfect in that sense. Both main characters were likeable, and I was rooting for them until the end.

Martina we're just trying to do what she loved take care of animals and me. She was running an animal sanctuary and agreed to allow people when pending court cases should you community services at her sanctuary keep them from going to prison. She didn't expect to end up with her high school bully Ace after person working for her. Who knew he only bullied her because he wanted her.

This is the story of Martina and Ace. Who knew performing mandated community service would lead to love. I enjoyed this sweet romance as these two discover each other. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Things have finally caught up with Ace and he stuck doing his redemption service at a rescue farm owned by Martina, who he bullied when they were young.

Ace and Martina have a history, an unpleasant one. At high school he was an arrogant bad boy, and she was a nerd. Neither of them is looking forward to working together at Martina's animal rescue.
But as they work together they discover that they have a lot in common. They are two broken souls hiding behind the faces they present to the world.
The story is very well written and the plot develops at a gentle pace, which is totally appropriate for their burgeoning romance.
Ace and Martina are wonderful characters. They are sympathetically described and their back stories are almost painful to read. These stories really do explain so much.
The question is can they overcome their pasts and find a measure of healing?
Something a long time ago changed Ace and he has been down on himself ever since. The one girl he liked in high school was Martina, but his nerves and friends made him be a bully instead. A few years later and he is arrested and is going to do community service instead of jail. His new boss is Martina at her animal sanctuary. Can he finally prove to her that he cares for her? Will she help him change direction in his life? Will he hurt her again? Great characters and the storyline developed well with real emotions and conversations that you could feel. Came together nicely in the ending.
