Luke Kessler. Luke. My heart broke for Luke while reading Accidentally on Purpose. He got the short end of the stick for sure. Worth the Fight is essentially the last half or so of AoP from Luke’s p.o.v. I didn’t love it quite as much as AoP or Worthy of Redemption. Maybe because I have read a lot of it in AoP already? Regardless, it was still a great and well written read.

FYI- If you haven’t read Accidentally on Purpose- there WILL be storyline spoilers for that book in this review!
FOOL- I was every definition of the word. I was the man who lacked judgment or sense. I was being kept by a person, apparently for her own amusement.

Thats how Luke feels. He knows he’s been a fool. Who does that? Who stays with someone who’s screwing her boss? Everyone knows. Luke gives Emmy chance after chance to break things off with the other guy. He loves her. He can’t imagine life without her. How do you leave the person you know your meant to be with, no matter what the circumstances?

 photo ce3bbc4d-7b1b-429c-9e66-f969f78210c8_zpsa4275f0a.jpg

But everyone has their breaking point. And Luke has hit his. He finally can’t do it anymore. He can’t be with Emmy, not like this. So he leaves and goes back to his hometown, Chicago, to start over. He still thinks of Emmy some, but he is busy working at his new law firm. He gets the shock of his life when he finds out Emmy is in town. With their son. THEIR infant son named Lucas. Luke wants to be a part of Lucas’s life. Unfortunately that includes being a big part of Emmy’s life once again. They decide to live together. To co- parent. He can only see her as Lucas’s mom. Nothing more. Thats the way it has to be.

The longer time goes on, the more he realizes Emmy isn’t his Emmy anymore. She’s different. She’s broken. It takes a lot of time, but he finds some forgiveness and wants to help her. He misses the spitfire she used to be.
“Em, I know you’re broken, okay?” I said, desperately trying to make her understand. “But I need to know what broke you so I can fix you.”

I enjoyed reading what really went down when Emmy came to Chicago. Seeing it from Luke’s eyes, getting his perspective was nice. I adored the way he was with his son, and seeing him bring Emmy back to life was a beautiful thing. They were really meant to be.
“You don’t have my heart because you are my heart, and you are my lungs. Without you I am dark and hollow inside. Without you I can’t breathe. Without you I don’t have a reason to breathe. You light up the darkness, Em, and you fill in the hollowness.”

Even though this had A LOT of the same AoP story, there was still a ton of new scenes and things we got to know about Luke. I like Luke a lot. He’s an amazing guy. I know what Kyle did was terrible, but I’m still Team Kyle. Always have been. There is just something about him I love. That being said, I do believe that Luke and Emmy were always supposed to be together. I’m happy with the way things turned out. For fans of this series, you won’t want to miss out on this book. If you haven't read Accidentally on Purpose, it’s a 5 star read I highly recommend. But be prepared for a clustrerfuck of a love triangle with mass angst :D

Holy Amaze Balls! Wow, wow, wow… Worth The Fight lived up to its expectation and I am so in love with everything about it! Luke and I had a love hate relationship since the first book, Accidentally on Purpose. I knew Luke was a good guy; he is the guy you marry and have lots of perfect, beautiful babies with but I was a Kyle fan… I even still wanted Kyle & Emmy together after reading book two, Worthy of Redemption but after reading Worth The Fight all I have to say is Emmy and Luke are suppose to be together and I am totally on Team Luke now… better late than never right?

Worth The Fight is written entirely in Luke’s POV and not just the past but the present too. Things about Luke and Emmy we never knew before until now. Gosh it’s so good!!

“It hurt to kiss her, because I knew I’d never kiss her again.”

The beginning starts off with a bang pulling at my heart strings. It’s the scene of Luke confronting Emmy about cheating on him with Kyle and breaking-up with her. That scene was brutal in AOP but it’s so much more powerful reading it from Luke’s POV and understanding how broken the man became because of Emmy’s actions. This scene was beautifully written; I felt all of Luke’s emotions and how hurt and sad he was. It changed him and he was no longer the Luke Emmy knew. It then picks up to Luke’s life in Chicago since he left Philadelphia after breaking-up with Emmy. He’s a changed man; he is no longer the sweet, marrying type but now the playboy type who doesn’t do relationships. This is the Luke I did not like; full of hate and rage

As we know from AOP Emmy returns to Luke over a year later with their 5 month old son Lucas with her. I loved reading the scene of Luke finding out he has a son and meeting him for the first time, it was sweet to read it in his POV and the love he had for Lucas from the moment he saw him. But this is also when the Evil Luke started to reveal himself… he couldn’t even look at Emmy and he treated her so badly even though he invited her and Lucas to live with him to raise their son. I understand how hurt he was but he invited his son’s mother into his home and he made her feeling like nothing and on purpose.

“The thing about one’s past, however, is that it doesn’t always stay in the past.”

One of my favorite parts of the book is when Luke starts to finally feel love again towards Emmy. I loved getting into his mind and reading about him wanting Emmy and admitting to himself he is still madly in love with her. How their friendship builds into more. This is the Luke I loved and wanted to be with Emmy, not the Evil Luke. He realizes Emmy is worth the fight… his family is worth the fight.

“I knew in that moment that I could never be without Emmy again.”

There are so many scenes and events that happened to Luke or about Luke we did not know before his book. I loved that the author made this story feel new and different even though we knew the story already. It was a perfect mix of new and old all written in Luke’s POV. The ending was bitter sweet. I love their adorable family and am happy they finally had their ending but am sad to see them go. Accidentally on Purpose is one of my favorite series of all time. L.D. David did an amazing job of bringing out so many emotions in all the characters in the series.

Worth The Fight (Accidentally on Purpose #3) by LD Davis

5 stars!!

“We saved each other. We fought for each other and our lives together. We are worth the fight.”

This is the third and final book of the Accidentally on Purpose series and you must have read the others before reading Worth The Fight.

I have absolutely loved this series, when I saw that we were getting Luke’s POV I was super excited but then I was also super nervous. I was worried that it would be drawn out and it would be just a re-hash of book 1, but we got so much more in Worth The Fight, I also have to say that this is my favourite one of the series. Luke Kessler, who would have thought it!! Sexy, handsome, gorgeous, amazing father, attentive lover (eventually), alpha when needed, very well endowed, passionate, protective, provider but most of all extremely understanding! He was nigh on perfect!

We know what happened with Emmy and Luke and what they went through to be together. I must admit I was surprised in Accidentally on Purpose when Luke took her back, I thought to myself at the time, that he must have really loved her to forgive and forget…well, maybe not forget, but definitely forgive.

In Worth The Fight we get to see what actually happened when Emmy went back to Luke and let me tell you it was not pretty. It was at this point I could have actually throttled Luke, whilst I could understand his hurt and indifference to “the mother of his child” it was his idea for her to move in so that they could raise Lucas together, so I felt that he should have at least been civil, but alas no, he treated Emmy with disdain, basically ignoring her existence. For all intents and purposes though she was acting as his wife, his house was cleaned, his laundry and ironing were done, he had hot meals waiting for him when he got home, all Emmy got was disrespect and the cold shoulder and she always retreated into her room, alone and with his treatment she retreated further and further into her shell and her depression.

“…She. Didn’t. Fight. Back.”

I did actually feel sorry for Emmy at this point, something I never ever thought would happen. Luke does come to his senses though, thanks to his sister and we are treated to reading about them rediscovering love together all over again. I love second chance romances and this one did not disappoint. The little things he did just to bring the “old Emmy” back were beautiful. Once he finally came to the conclusion that he did actually love her and want her back, he goes all out to win her and he is good at wooing!!

You felt the chemistry between them when they were “on,” they were seriously hot together. Even when they were “off” you felt the crackle of sexual tension in the air, interspersed with the hate and loathing, they really had that strong connection.

“…you don’t have my heart because you are my heart, and you are my lungs. Without you I am dark and hollow inside. Without you I can’t breathe. Without you I don’t have a reason to breathe. You light up the darkness, Em, and you fill in the hollowness…”

I ran a gamut of emotions throughout this story and I was wrecked and happy by the end. For an author to make you love and hate characters in the same book is no mean feat and the emotions that I felt reading this book were intense. I felt Luke’s pain and apprehension every time Emmy went and met with Kyle, I also couldn’t believe the other side to the Iris situation. It is amazing how you get such a different perspective reading the same story through another characters eyes and this has made me want to read book 1 again.

“…I knew that Kyle was Emmy’s Achilles Heel. She was drawn to him in the way in which an addict is drawn to their dangerous, life threatening drug of choice. She would think she could have just one taste, but before she knew it she’d be completely lost to him and no one else or anything else would much matter. I knew this from my heart, and honestly, I understood it. Because Emmy…Emmy was my drug.”

Amazing job LD Davis, truly brilliant and I cannot wait to see what this author delivers next.

Trigger Warnings ⚠️
- Cheating
- Love Triangle
- Butthurt Alphahole (in the beginning)
- Also, in my opinion the last 28% of this book was unnecessary.

That being said, if what I wrote 👆🏽 didn’t put you off, I highly recommend this book. This is my go-to reread when I’m in the mood for some angst. I love how Joe Arden was able to masterfully bring to life Luke’s emotions and trust me there’s a lot.

5 Angst Filled Stars

There are very few love triangle books or series I’ve come to love. The AOP series is definitely one of them. These books were highly erotic and very emotional. They were filled with such angst, at times I wanted to destroy my kindle out of sheer frustration. Needless to say, it was that moving.

The story told in “Worth the Fight” mirrored the first installment, but in Luke’s POV. Now, I usually have a problem with alternate POV’s. To me, it seems as if most authors “cut and paste” the dialogue, regurgitating the same conversations and situations, not bothering to make the story interesting what so ever. Reading most of them was a regretful experience, leaving me disappointed. What L.D. Davis managed to do was amazing. Same plot, same cast of characters, and yet – a new and totally different feel to the story, with the add bonus of bringing it forward. Being inside Luke’s head felt as if I was reading it for the first time. Well done L.D.

Please note there are spoilers below if you have not read “Accidentally on Purpose”.

Luke Kessler fell in love with Emmy. In return, she broke his heart and played him for a fool. Her infidelities left him angry and shattered. To nurse his emotional wounds, he left his job behind and returned home to Chicago to start over and open his own law practice. Over a year later, the last thing he expected was a message from Emmy asking to meet, and sharing the fact that he had fathered a beautiful baby boy. Realizing Emmy had left Kyle Sterling (AKA the other man AND her boss) for good, they re-start their lives together as a “quasi” family. In the beginning, Luke had a hard time reconciling with Emmy. Their relationship was just a necessary evil in order for him to be a part of his son’s life. He could barely tolerated Emmy, and she was constantly walking on eggshells.

Luke was not used to this ‘new meek Emmy’. Her change in character and night terrors convinced Luke that she suffered something terrible at the hands of Kyle. He learns later that Kyle had indeed broken her - physically and emotionally. Now, he is determined to find out what happened and to fix her broken spirit.

As time passes, Luke and Emmy’s relationship begins to blossom and the love that was buried deep inside has rekindled. I was ecstatic over these two reuniting. My heart ached for Luke and I resented Emmy’s character for hurting him so deeply. I always felt they belong together. Never wanted Emmy with Kyle because, well, he is a rotten slimy bastard. What he did to Emmy was reprehensible and frankly, unforgivable. (Note: Although I despised Kyle Sterling’s character in AOP, I did fall in love with him towards the end of his story “Worthy of Redemption”). Witnessing Luke and Emmy fall in love again, marry, and become a family was heartwarming. Luke is magnificently sensual and downright romantic. How can you not fall in love with a man whose privates are referred to as “a monster”? It’s impossible.

Married life presented it’s own challenges and dramas. But, Luke’s strength carried Emmy through the rough patches and together, they fought to overcome all obstacles in their path. They restarted their relationship both battered and broken from past emotional injuries, but they battled against the odds to heal one another. Emmy is his, and will fight “to the death” for her. There is no denying the fact that Luke is madly in love with her. And this time, he will let nothing and no one stand in his way.

"Worth the Fight" was an absolute 5 star read for me. It was the perfect blend of romance, passion, angst and drama. This is saga was quite a rollercoaster ride and most certainly worth the read. LD’s writing style was outstanding and I look forward to the next sequel in this series.

I don't read Love Triangles that often. Just because it always drives me crazy going back and forth between the two. And wondering who will they end up with in the end and who will end up heartbroken. Its never a HEA all around. But there are exceptions….and this is one of those exceptions!

My two favorite love triangle trilogies are the "Thoughtless" series by S.C. Stephens & THIS! The AOP series gives such a heartfelt love triangle that leaves you coming back for more! I really enjoyed this book! I wish I would've started it sooner than I did actually. Because once I got into it, I literally couldn't put it down.

This book was Luke's side of the love triangle him, Emmy & Kyle Sterling were in from Book #1, "Accidentally on Purpose" . I think it was so refreshing to hear Luke's POV in its entirety. And I think I fell in love with him even more than Kyle. I love Kyle too. But I still always kept a love/hate relationship I felt with him because of what he did to Emmy in Book 1. Doesn't matter if your under the influence of drugs, alcohol or both, etc.. Doesn't excuse the scumbag behavior he did then. Even though he thoroughly redeemed himself in Book #2. I forgive, but don't forget.

But Luke is such a sexy alpha male. He's a bit prideful sometimes. But you can't help but love the guy with seeing the kind of huge heart he has. How generous he is. Sometimes so generous to where selfish women take advantage of his kindness like Iris & Claire. I adore how much he loves Emmy & his family. How they still managed to make it work through all the ups & downs they've been through. How they never gave up on each other.

And then Emmy. She is one of my favorite female book characters. Yes she was all over the place in Book #1. And yes she shouldn't have strung both guys along. But I couldn't help but just love her. She's still a smart girl at heart. She's fun, feisty, & lovable. I think she's turned into a great mother & wife. Loved how she made old ass Iris muffin lady get out of chicago! LOL

The AOP series gives such a heartfelt love triangle. In book #1 I still felt like it wasn't a HEA. I remember feeling sad for days afterwards. I felt Emmy's heart still was with Kyle. And Kyle's heart was still with Emmy. And Luke was the heartbroken one that ended up alone for a while. Even though he got Emmy in the end. But then in book #2 Kyle meets someone and falls in love with Lily. And I thought that was perfect because it brought someone new into the situation. And I thought he'd never let Emmy go. It was nice to see. And now Book #3. I feel like everyone is exactly where they should be. In the end I truly do feel like Emmy & Luke belong together. And I'm glad they've finally found their happy place.

Much love and thanks to the author L.D. Davis for this ARC! 5 STARS!

Ok I was not really interested in reading this book when I read the blurb. I felt like what does Luke have to say that I did not already see happen in book 1 or 2. Well Luke has a WHOLE LOT to say. I again loved this book! Reading this book I learned we really knew nothing about Luke. Yes he is introduced in AOP. But like I said in my review of book 1 he was kinda" a non Mother F factor" lol. Well we were wrong. Reading Worth the Fight I learned so much about Luke and Emmy it was like meeitn them both for the first time. When you read book 1 AOP you really don't understand why Luke loves Emmy so much because we miss their whole backstory. I realized that the craziness of Kyle and Emmy kind of over shadowed the relationship of Emmy and Luke. I liked that in Worth the Fight we got to see more of Emmy's personality. I never knew she was funny? Had a sarcastic personality or anything. And I def did not think Luke was a strong , alpha with kinda an attitude (in a sexy way) problem.

This final book in the series really ties everything together for the main characters. Everyone is in a HEA kinda place and readers are left satisfied. I can not believe how much I LOVE THIS SERIES. It's hard to really put it all into words but just buy these books. My only constructive piece of criticism would be that editing and the covers. I found a few misspelled words and paragraphs that repeated themselves. The covers are okay but they do not give the books justice. With the right covers I know more people would snatch these books up. Would I re read this book? Hell yea! As I write this review I feel like reading it all over again. Would I recommend this series? Hell Yea especially to anyone who loves a good story line with lots of twist, turns and angst. This is a series for people who like to read books about realistic characters that experience real life issues.

So, I haven’t written a review in a long long while, but I had to for this book…because I loved it and I love this author. This is book three in the ‘Accidently on Purpose’ series, and is from Luke’s POV. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and I want to read it again and again.

Here's a run down of the story...
Luke Kessler loved Emmy.
She broke his heart.
Then she revealed a life altering secret that brought them back together.
Time and forgiveness heal old wounds and love flourishes. Luke and Emmy find themselves reaching for a happily ever after together. When their pasts begin to push into their present and hurtful mistakes are made, the couple struggle with each other and their past demons. How much is too much? Will the couple be able to fight their way to a happily ever after? Are their lives together worth the fight?

description

First, what I didn’t like…
I hate to say anything negative about this book because I really loved it..but if anything, I would say it was a bit long. BUT, I was kind of ok with that because Luke and Emmy make my heart happy.

description

What I did like...
Everything!
I love Luke.
I love Emmy.
I love their story, even though it was a heartbreaking journey for both of them.
L.D. Davis did an amazing job with this book, and I’m so happy I was able to get an insight into how Luke thought and felt.
Just brilliant.

description

Anyway! I’m not much of a writer, but I loved this book. I love this series and I love this author. I’ll have to circle back to read Kyle’s story, when my heart can deal with it.
This story, me and this author is just a huge love fest. I can't get enough.

Here’s my casting for Luke and Emmy (happy and depressed)…

Lots of ow drama.

Overall rating: I don't know ... I couldn't put it down so maybe 2/2.5 stars? Even though I had so many issues!

Triggers:
Cheating:
Love triangle:
Sex with om/ow:
Push/pull:
OW/OM drama:

HEA:

This is one of those books that I KNEW I'd end up reading one day because I suffered through Accidentally on Purpose years ago - before I was even on Goodreads. I was excited to read about Luke because I adored him in the first book and couldn't believe what Emmy did to him. I have to say that I was not really impressed with him in this book. He freaking KNEW from the very beginning that he never got over Emmy. I could see him keeping that no strings shit briefly, but that second one night stand was NOT EVEN NECESSARY. It made him look like a douche! Here's a hint - when you feel guilty about something, there is usually a REASON!

I also felt that the author just added shit in here because Luke and Emmy OBVIOUSLY couldn't have a smooth sailing road to their HEA. I know Emmy was a bitch and did Luke wrong, but COME ON ALREADY. What happened to Luke just being such an awesome guy to accept Emmy for who she is. I will say that Luke steps up to the plate right away with the baby and once he realizes that he does love Emmy and wants more of a relationship with her, he doesn't sway in his feelings.

I felt that adding those events with Kyle was absolutely ridiculous. Emmy goes out of town and invites Kyle OVER?! ARE YOU KIDDING? Then she has to go MAKE SURE HE IS HAPPY TOO WITH A WOMAN?! OMG shoot me! And when Emmy thinks she catches Luke having an affair with a 53 year old BAKER NEXT DOOR TO THIS OFFICE. I was like OMG!! SERIOUSLY? I honest to God, laughed my ass off when Emmy got hit by that car running away from him LMAO!!!!

With all that said - this book had a lot of aspects that I ADORED. I loved how Luke adored Emmy. I loved their banter and certain aspects of their relationship. I loved how Luke was a great dad to baby Lucas and I loved how he was a great companion when Emmy gets pregnant again. I loved how we got a couple that had a nice progression to their relationship. It wasn't just okay HEA - they will probably get married. In THIS BOOK, we get it all. Kids, marriage, pregnancy - everything.

This could have been a 5 star read for me (even with all of Emmy's faults prior to this installment that slightly cloud my judgement) but this author simply did not pull it off in a way without sex with others and betrayal.

I have come to realize - after looking at her others works - that this author is simply not for me. At the end of the book, I realized that the next installment was about Emmett (Emmy's brother) who is happily married with children AT LEAST I THOUGHT, but no, she took a character I LOVED and made him have an affair with Emmy's best FRIEND who is also ... SHOCKER ... MARRIED! Omg I am SO upset! I LOVED Emmett. But alas, this author is not for me and that's okay.

“ I hope Kyle Sterling rips your heart out of your chest and makes you choke on it.”

I remember reading this quote in the first book and feeling that gut-wrenching, deep pain in the pit of your stomach’ feeling . I felt the pain Luke was feeling and felt so bad for him. Reading it again in this book, it still had the same effect on me. I might have been in the minority when I was "Team Luke" in the first book, but I am glad this book strongly solidified that even more for me. I always felt there was something about him that I felt was genuine, honest and the person who I believed deserved Emmy’s heart. I just was never sure if Emmy deserved his. After reading this book, I am glad they fought hard for this relationship because they were two broken people who could only be healed by each other.

 photo tumblr_mcbfrqxqED1rjpl2xo1_500_zps8f4dcc0c.gif

Going into this book I was terrified that Emmy was going to be with Luke only because she couldn’t be with Kyle. I didn’t want to feel like he was her second choice because Luke DID NOT DESERVE THAT! I think Ms. Davis did a wonderful job in making me feel that Luke was not her second choice--he was the perfect choice and the only choice, really.

 photo myreview_zpsc45a5efc.jpg

Reading a book where the story has been already told, but in another POV can be frustrating and tricky sometimes. I think some authors make the mistake of making the readers feel like the story is just repetitive. Thankfully, I did not feel like that with this book. I liked being in Luke’s head and reading what was going through his mind when all this was happening. It was a lot more heart-breaking than the first book . We knew he was hurt by his words, but with this one we knew by his actions and from being inside his head. Some people might say Luke was cruel at times. But not everyone deals with pain the same way. I felt it was justified at times, but I’m glad that didn’t drag throughout the book. I did start to feel bad for Emmy. She was already beating herself up over what she did. We don’t need to beat a dead horse. She felt guilty enough and felt like she deserved what she was getting…. And while I may have agreed some of it she did deserve, I’m glad Luke learned to forgive her. Thankfully I did, too..LOL

This book felt so REAL to me. I know some people read to escape--including me, so sometimes they like those dramatic scenes, but there are times where its refreshing to read something that you or anyone else can relate to. Who can’t relate to a couple who is struggling to forgive and heal after everything they’ve been through. Relationships are NOT easy. We don’t all get to meet our prince, who is filthy rich and sweeps us off our feet and live HEA everyday. Most of us live what Emmy and Luke went through. Not necessarily everything they went through. But just going through the ups and downs of a relationship and rollercoaster of emotions involved.

Oh and I need to add this: The Sex?? Luke, honey, you stepped up your game! Don’t sleep on the quiet ones!!

Without a doubt, I believe Ms. Davis ended this series just the way it needed to be: Everyone belongs with who they ended up with--especially Luke & Emmy.

I like to listen to music while I read a book sometimes. Here are some songs that reminded of Luke and Emmy

‘Please Forgive Me’ By Bryan Adamns ß------ I know, I’m going way Back
‘ Wicked Games” Chris Isaak ß-------- again, going way back
‘ All of Me” by John Legend

I have to say, this book took me completely by surprise. Like all triangles, people have their favorites, the guy or girl they're rooting for to get the object of their affection. I was an unrepentant Kyle fangirl, and that even includes after the ending of the 1st book when all of that horrible stuff took place. I LOVED Kyle and rooted for him to get his act together and get the girl. Luke was not someone I hated or despised. For me, he was just there, not acting as his own person, but merely there to react to the events around him, and more importantly to be the foil to Kyle's "bad guy". I always felt that Emmy was with Luke precisely because he WASN'T Kyle. That she only chose him because she couldn't be with Kyle rather than because of anything she felt for Luke.

That all changed for me in this book. Worth the Fight is told in Luke's point of the view and being in his head allowed me to finally enjoy this character. I rooted for him, fell in love with him, and felt bad for him when he hurt. I was finally able to FEEL for him because I finally felt like he had an active part in the story. More importantly, I finally understood why he loved Emmy. I understood why he put up with so much of her crap for so long, and being able to see her character through his eyes I actually began to like the character for the first time. Kyle is still my favorite character in this series, but after reading WTF, I realized just how toxic Kyle/Emmy were for each other, and that Emmy wasn't with Luke because she couldn't be with Kyle. Getting Luke's point of view was like getting the final piece of the puzzle. Once it came into place, the whole picture came together and I felt like it all made sense.

I love this series. Most people don't like triangles because their person doesn't get the guy/girl, characters become unlikable or desperate. This one was messy and complicated and the characters will have you wanting to throttle them but it felt real to me. And in the end i wasn't left wondering why things ended the way they did. Also, even though this is a retelling of events that we already know the outcome of, there was still enough new insight from Luke to keep me interested and invested. In the end, I was able to come away from this series loving and understanding all the characters which is something that doesn't usually happen with love triangles.

Emmy is a former shell of the woman he loved, but they are fighting tooth and nail to get her back. But when Luke befriends the Muffin Lady, their relationship takes a turn for the worse. Can they make it through?

This book was the first two books in the series condensed slightly, given a barely different spin, and a different POV. I really really REALLY dislike reading the exact same book twice from two different POV's, what do I care if they have different thoughts? The mystery is good, and being told everything is BORING and you can't use your imagination (Not that I can with this series, I pretty much hated them all.
Somehow I managed to read to 23%, but I have skipped til 61% so I didn't have to see much repetition and hopefully will see some COMPLETELY new scenes.
---EDIT---
Sorely disappointed, nearly the exact same scenes, with an extra one or two (but not interesting in the least). I ended skipping even more of it. Overall, this book was the epitome of terrible, and is the worst book in the whole series.

Poorly written, and clearly a not well thought-out plot. The characters are boring, where they have no independent thought, and have practically the same thoughts as each other. I don't remember seeing any errors, but regardless, it was so incredible boring.

I can't say I hated this book but rather I was just bored. This was a total retell of AOP 1 and AOP 2 and I would have been ok with that if I knew that but rather I thought this was going to be a continuation of LUKE and Emmy with new struggles not rehashing the old. LUKE was the kind of character who said what was on his mind so I alrwady knrw how he felt from AOP 1 and 2. I loved AOP 1 and 2. AOP 1 was so different than other books I read. I didn't know who Emmy should end up with , I genuinely liked both men until KYLE did a very bad thing but even then I felt bad for KYLE so of course I loved his story too in AOP2. It wasn't his POV retold but a new story. So I guess that's why im bored and disappointed. That doesn't mean I won't read more from this author cause I genuinely like her writing (hence the 3 stars for s book I didn't care for). Just im done with Emmy and Luke.

I received a ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.
DONT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS.

I absolutely adore this series! I loved the previous two books and this one I loved even more. It was definitely my favourite.

It's a story told from Luke's point of view basically from when he receives Emmy's letter. I normally don't enjoy books that tell the same story from different characters POV but I adored this one. It didn't have all the same scenes from previous books, there was so much more. Emmy and Luke are my favourite characters from this series and I have always wanted a story done from Luke's POV. He had so much to share.

I've had a love/hate relationship with both these characters. Obviously I was so angry with Emmy in the first story when she broke Luke's heart and I was angry with Luke when he carried on treating Em with such cold distaste. But that's what's great about these books, the characters do wrong yet you feel for them and understand their pain and fall back in love with them. And this book made me fall in love with both Luke and Emmy all over again.

I felt heartbreak, anger, sadness, love...literally every emotion you can feel. I laughed and cried during this book and a story that do both is nothing short of amazing in my eyes.

I loved that we had more scenes with the children as well. Lucas is just the most adorable child and I was even happy for him that it all worked out.

The ending was perfect, couldn't have asked for a better ending. The epilogue was one of the sweetest and most romantic I've read because Luke is one of the most sweetest and romantic guys I've ever read. And I am generally really sad to see the end of their story.

Huge congratulations to the author to creating a perfect story to finish with. As I said before I love all the books in this trilogy but this one was my favourite. I would definitely recommend it but say that you MUST read the other two books first to really understand just how much of a fight these two went through to be together.

In this 3rd book in the Accidentally on Purpose series we finally get Luke's story. This book really does need to be read after Accidentally on Purpose and Worthy of Redemption since it spans time periods of both stories, and in order to really get the full impact of this story it helps to know the other characters and situations.

My feelings about Luke changed and evolved throughout the first book, but by the end I was solidly on Team Luke and Emmy. Reading this book made me realize just how much of Luke's story I was missing. When I started, I expected to mostly have the pleasure of experiencing the stories again from a different angle. What I got was so much more. It was definitely interesting to see just what it was like for Luke to go through some of the major events that occurred during those first books, but we get a lot more as well. We really get to know who Luke is, and what everything was like for him. How he had to work hard to come to be the person we suspected he was all along. It was refreshing to see that Luke wasn't perfect and that he had some struggles along the way that we would not have known about without getting this perspective. I was also really pleasantly surprised at the length. it felt great to get to spend a good amount of time with Luke and Emmy again. Even though there are some rough emotions and situations to go through with them, it was great to re-connect with them as a couple and really see how their story evolved. If you have read the first two books in this series, then you won't need much of a push to pick this one up. The idea of spending time with Luke should be a pretty strong selling point.

Buddy Read with Nicole.

This is Lukes book and covers his POV of book 1 - AOF and beyond. It fills in the gaps and we see what Luke felt when he was separated from Emmy and also once she and Lucas came to live with him.

I will always be Team Kyle and thought I understood why Emmy chose Luke over Kyle. Luke was a safe choice plus he was the baby daddy right? Well my opinion of Luke as this sweet, generous and lovely man who adored Emmy was definitely shattered when I started reading this book.

I didn't like the way he treated Emmy, the way he ignored her and the absence of even a glimpse of the feelings he once claimed to have had for her. He was mean and selfish and couldn't keep it in his pants even with Emmy & Lucas living under the same roof as him. He couldn't see that she was struggling and even though he noticed that she was not the same person as before he was too self absorbed to find out why and what was wrong with her.

I couldn't understand how Emmy stayed and she certainly didn't deserve to be treated like that. If it wasn't for Lukes older sister whom he really looked up to and relied upon so much for advise, I don't know where their relationship would have ended up. There was a switch that seemed to have been flicked after a conversation with his sister and suddenly Luke saw Emmy and this saw their relationship start to rekindle. I personally didn't believe it bit as we know from AOM and the few chapters in Kyles book told from Emmy's POV that this is what she wanted and she was happy.

We also see Emmy's mum Sam in a different light here and it is the introduction to a spin off in this series to Donya and Emmet which I can't wait to read.

Whilst I am not a fan of Luke, I am glad to have read this book because it fied it all together. It also solidified my belief that Emmy really belonged with Kyle. She made her choice though and is happy with that decision so I guess I need to be too.

Overall a brilliant series and I am so glad to have read it

I LOVE this series!! There is just something about the details LD writes about that I relate to. Whether its a sex scene ;) or song she adds I just connect with her books and characters.

Who knew all this stuff was going on with Luke. Good thing she gave us this book so we could see everything through Luke's eyes. All the shit he put up with, and how much it broke him.

"I hope Kyle Sterling rips your heart out of your chest and makes you choke on it."

YIKES^^

I love the real life story line. They go through the fights, babies, self doubts all the highs and lows. Just like a real life marriage. In the end they are each others fate no matter what obstacle they go through.

"People like to tell those they love that they have their heart, but I can't say that because that wouldn't be true. You dont have my heart because you are my heart and you are my lungs. Without you I am dark and hollow inside. Without you I can't breath. Without you I don't have a reason to breathe. You light up the darkness, Em, and you fill in the hollowness. You give me sweet, refreshing breath. You are the oxygen that my body cant ever be without. Emmy, you are...life, my life, and without you I am dead."

With all that love LD gives us she really knows how to write some hot as hell sex scenes:

"Oh, Emmy," I panted as I held my cock deep within her mouth. When I pulled out again she hurriedly and eagerly said "Fuck my mouth. Fuck it hard and fast."

LOL say what?!?! Wars would end if all women were more like Emmy ;)

You have to read LD's letter to her readers at the end. Love that she explains her reason behind writing Luke's book. Plus the sneak peek we get on what she is working on next. I am VERY excited for that ;)

I was blown away by this trilogy.
This the third and final part was Luke's story and I was very apprehensive going into it as I was quite content where that story was left in part one. Sometimes retelling the same story from another point of view works well, you learn something that you didn't know and you get a fuller understanding of the story as a whole and other times it's just a tedious change of pronoun. This went further than I'd hoped for in that it gave me a fuller understanding of the story, but it also enabled me get to know Luke. He's been a shadowy figure up until now and seemed a good guy and nice enough, but there was so much going on under the surface. Like the others in the series, I was completely unable to put this down, I was totally engrossed.
Yes Luke's monster cock got plenty more airings (hurrah!) and the sex scenes were as hawt as in the rest of this series, but what I really loved about this story was the romance, the belly-tingling sweetness. They were a proper couple, or as close to a proper couple as fictional families get.
There are echoes in the writing from all of my favourite books - the forbidden excitement of the love triangle in Thoughtless, the raw, primal, alpha hotness of Remy from Real, the romance of Gabriel, the move anything to get my girl and over-protectiveness from this Man/Fifty Shades, but all of those echoes do not mean that this series is 'like' any of those really, it is unique. It simply includes all of the elements that make up a bloody amazing read.
I can't recommend this series highly enough, I'm so glad I read them.

I was super stoked when I saw that L.D. Davis’ Worth the Fight was finally available in audio form, Worth the Fight is the final audiobook in the Accidentally On Purpose trilogy, and the first audiobook AOP was released 3 ½ years ago. Worth the Fight is Luke Kessler’s story and would I highly suggest you listen the AOP before listening to this book

Luke’s story starts off with my favorite passage from AOP, when a desolate Luke confronts girlfriend Emmy Grayne over her affair with boss Kyle Sterling, it’s the most heartbreaking part of their story and hearing it told from Luke’s POV loses none of its intensity.

We learn what Luke’s been up to since the breakup and before Emmy comes to town and drops a bombshell on his life. This is an emotional listen as Luke and Emmy try to rebuild basic trust and then rebuild their relationship, but it’s not easy because even though a year has passed Luke is still very hurt and Emma has come back into Luke's life a completely broken woman, the harsh words Luke spoke to Emmy when they parted end up coming to fruition in the most painful of way. Realizing just how deeply wounded and depressed Emmy is, Luke comes to the realization that for both their sakes he must help to heal Emmy's heart.

I loved this story and it's a satisfying completion to the AOP series. Joe Arden narrates and he did an awesome job voicing the characters and I found his delivery completely engaging, this audiobook clocks in at almost 11 hours and it went by way too fast, I never wanted to put the story on pause, it’s that entertaining.

I was beyond ecstatic when I found out that Luke was getting his on story. I loved the first two books and if any character needed his POV told, it was definitely Luke!

If you haven't read the first two books in this series, you need to go one-click them now!
So if you haven't read the first two, I'm going to try and not ruin it for you but a love triangle is involved and Luke was done very wrong by Emmy. Luke was left heart-broken and now with his POV, you really get to know Luke and see how it all effected him. Seeing it through his eyes, made me fall in love with him even more. I found myself even more mad at Emmy for not choosing Luke. This was one amazing roller-coaster of a ride filled with angst to the max, heart-break, love, and some hot sexy time. (he-he)

L.D. Davis did an amazing job cause not once did I ever feel like I was reading the prior books. The flow and writing was brilliant as in the prior books. If you love your stories with angst then these books are for you. After finishing this I felt whole again and loved it even more than the first two which are all 5 star reads for me. This is one amazing series that it WORTH reading. I can't wait for more from this author.

5 stars for whole Trilogy, but especially for Luke and Emmy.
Finally a book about GOOD GUY. I am so sick of billionaires, used to be manwhores and bad guys who are good only for this one particular woman.
Luke Kessler is a real man, he knows how to love and how to fight for his love.

Luke:
"When you know in your bones, right down to the cellular level, that you are supposed to
be with someone, you hold on to them with everything you have. When you know beyond a
shadow of a doubt that someone is your soul mate, the one person in the universe you cannot be
without, you fight for her. You knock down whoever gets in your way. You give her every
reason to know her place with you. You will give anything and everything you have for her. You
will die for her."

I am amazed by this trilogy. I didn't expect to be such a good read. It's diffrent from usuall romance novels. It's very down to earth love story. With very, very hot scenes.
I highly recommend it.

Love the first book this not so much

This book's first half was a rehashing of the first book and the second half was unbelievable!!!
In the second half we are made to believe that the male lead ( Luke) would stand back and allow his Wife (Emmy) to loose weight and be come a shell of herself believing he had an affair! It was drama for the sake of drama

I am a huge fan of this series and have always loved Luke so of course I could not wait to get my hands on this books and see his side of the story. This book captures some of the important moments from Accidentally on Purpose but it is so much more than that. This is truly Luke's book. We see how he dealt with the situation with Emmy and Lucas. We see the emotions that he went through as well as the pain and heartache of it all. We see how much he hated and loved Emmy all at the same time.

I love Luke and even after reading his side of the story I still love him, but will say that I was a little upset and disappointed with his actions in the beginning. Maybe it's be ause I loved him so much and put him on this pedestal but t didn't seem like the Luke we all fell in love with. and honestly I think that he tried so hard to hate Emmy and so hard to be mad at her that his emotions got the best of him and caused him to be a complete jerk to her. And do n't get me wrong, what Emmy did to Luke was wrong on all accounts so I totally understand what he was feeling. She hurt him in a way that left him completely broken and shattered. And he has tried to move one since then, but then she shows up with his kid that he had no idea he had. So while I wasn't a fan of his actions, I tried very hard to understand them. And believe me there were moments where I just wanted to scream at him: Why?!?! And moments where I had knots in my stomach.

Luke finally wakes up and realizes what a complete ass he has been to Emmy and knows that no matter what she did to him, she didn't deserve the harsh treatment and he knew he needed to try to make it work, even if it was just as friends. And this is where we start to see the Luke that we all fell in love with again. Luke is by no means perfect but you see how much he still loves Emmy, how much she can still turn him on and that just maybe he wants to be more than friends. The problem is getting past the hurt and admitting it to himself.

I loved this story. I loved getting inside Luke's head and seeing the struggles that he went through. Their relationship was anything but perfect and they both knew and understood that. But Luke realizes how much he needs and wants Emmy in his life and will do everything he can to make sure she stays in it. What I loved was seeing that moment from Worthy of Redemption (and those of you who have read it know exactly what I am talking about) from Luke's POV. I loved seeing his reaction and it gave me some level of comfort knowing that it happened the way it did.

Luke and Emmy's journey is one that is filled with many emotions; anger, frustration, sadness, and joy. They have both hurt each other in different ways but beneath all of the pain and hurt, is the love that they have always had for each other. When their relationship ended it left them both broken for different reasons and we see just how broken they both were. We see how much pain Emmy caused Luke, how angry and bitter he was towards her. And we also see just how broken Emmy was and how much of herself she lost .

I think L.D. Davis did a fantastic job capturing the true heartache that these characters went through. As the reader you went through it all with them. It was sad to see Emmy in the beginning thinking that she deserved the way Luke was treating her. It was upsetting seeing Luke at in a way that didn't seem like the true Luke. My heart broke for the two of them many times. But together they worked through their emotions, through the pain and the hurt that they caused each other and found the happiness they both deserved.

Worth the Fight is definitely a must read. Luke is still amazing, and lovable and sexy as he was in Accidentally on Purpose, despite his actions in the beginning. And to be honest I honestly understood why he acted the way he did. There were probably moments in AOP where I felt exactly as Luke did towards Emmy. But moving past all that, Emmy and Luke's road to happiness definitely was not all roses and unicorns. It was a rough, emotional, heart breaking ride but one that was totally worth it in the end. Together they fought through the pain and heartache and found happiness. And together they were perfect. Amazing job!

Will the couple be able to fight their way to a happily ever after? Are their lives together worth the fight?

Book Heaux Rating: 5+++ Stars

LOVED THIS BOOK! LIKE... Obsessively loved it! After reading Accidentally On Purpose I always wondered how Luke was feeling after the breakup and when he found out about the baby I wondered about that too. LITTLE DID I KNOW Mr. Kessler had all of this other stuff going on. It was angsty, juicy and jaw dropping at times. But in the end it made for a good read and great closure for those of us who simply love Emmy and Luke as a couple.

"We saved each other. We fought for each other and our lives together. We are worth the fight."

"When you know in your bones, right down to the cellular level, that you are supposed to be with someone, it is hard to simply walk away."

Great Job LD...
I can't wait to find out who Donya looked at when she was at the wedding... HEHEHEHEH!

I can honestly say that I am not the biggest fan of series. I hate cliffhangers and then being the impatient person I am, I hate the wait in between books. Also, it’s seldom that the third book in a series is as good as the first two. But, in LD Davis’ case, she floored me with this book, Worth the Fight. Yes, Worth the Fight is the third book in her Accidentally on Purpose series but it was also my favorite of the three. The story was told in Luke’s point of view (POV), which in my opinion was the one person’s POV I wanted to hear the most.
Worth the Fight is a mixture of Accidentally on Purpose and Worthy of Redemption told through Luke’s eyes. So, if you have not read the first two books…you need to stop here!

In Worthy of Redemption you got a little taste of what Emmy and Luke were going through and I was upset we didn’t get any closure. I guess that is a good thing because we got a whole new book. When reading this book, I didn’t feel like I was reading the same storyline. I think Luke’s story brought a whole new dynamic to it. I think I almost cried twice before I even hit the 10% mark.

I have to say after reading this book, I want to yell at Emmy for not choosing Luke to begin with. He literally has to be the most perfect guy out there and is ranked very high on my Book Boyfriend List (BBL). You literally feel the hurt that he has after what Emmy did to him and the fact that she kept Lucas from him for 5 months. You then can reason with him on why he treated Emmy horribly for so long after she moved to Chicago. His anguish was dripping from the book, at one point, he couldn’t even call her by her name, she was just Lucas’ mom. In the first book, I was a bit mad at him but now I changed my tune. AHH…but then when they finally get together and you have it from his POV, it is utter perfection. Then there are the insecurities that threaten to hurt their relationship (Iris and Kyle) and how they work through them as a team that makes them so perfect together. They had both hurt each other in the past but were able to overcome their issues and build this amazing foundation of a relationship. To me, that is what makes a true love story and theirs is one to remember.

I Loved AOP, but I never really liked Luke I was always team Kyle even though he had done so many bad thing, there was always something about him, I wanted the baby to be his, I didn't like Lilly I wanted him to find Emmy in France and run off with her. Lilly is great but I just never wanted Kyle to get over Emmy. Then I read WOR, and even though I knew that Kyle and Emmy weren't ending up together, it still broke my heart I cried, and even though my heart broke, I understood why they could be together, but my feeling for Luke still hadn't changed....With that said...I'M SO GLAD LD DAVIS WROTE THIS BOOK, I LOVE LUKE!!!!!!!! Yes I really do, this book was the perfect way to end the story of Emmy, Kyle and Luke. I never gave Luke any thought to what he went threw breaking up with Emmy, and I didn't realize she was in so much pain, you really got to see what Kyle had done to her, seeing it in Luke's POV made it much clearer and so much better, my heart broke. Even though I new some of the things that would happen, I still got mad.. IRIS!!! Oh how I loved what Emmy did to her. Every time Luke slept with another woman I wanted to slap him! And the baby scare OMG I was like WTF?!?! So many things I had no idea that had happened it really had me saying "poor Luke" but with all the craziness I was cheering when they final got together, I had made a complete 360 from when I read it the first time in AOP. I was glad we only got a little Kyle I just wanted him gone. Emmy was meant to be with Luke, he is perfect for her. I'm really glad Ms Davis ended with Luke's story... I was able to forget about Kyle and move on much like Emmy did. This series is a must read and in the order it came out in, it's an emotional ride but so worth it.
