One of the most compelling things about Joey W. Hill's stories involves the reality that even a hard-earned HEA does not a perfect life make. "Stuff" is always there and a reader can imagine the characters dealing with it, much in the same way we all do. The work never ends. If you're lucky, that is.
Having said that, it is also beyond nice to read these little glimpses into those moments that make the work worthwhile. And in a compilation such as this, where all your favourite characters across series and across genres, experience just those reaffirming moments...well, reader-Dom just doesn't get any better.
It was hard to "tag" this book because just about every keyword fits! Grab your beverage of choice, some chocolate and maybe a tissue or 10. And enjoy the glimpse into the "After Happily Ever After" of some of the best romantic figures ever created.
Having said that, it is also beyond nice to read these little glimpses into those moments that make the work worthwhile. LOL I've read these vignettes over the years b/c I'm a total fan of Joey and all her writings - whether it be vampires, angels, or those infamous Knights of the Board Room....
Every story is an extension/addendum to its original, and just makes me happy to know/think/realise that 'life goes on' whatever.
In all honesty, you really, really need to read the original stories to get the full impact of these shorts; but Joey's skill is still there (possibly magnified b/c they are 'short' stories!!) and they will really make you want to go back to read the originals anyway.
Apologies to any/every one - I'm a dedicated fan, so you won't get much/any criticism from me :)
[[and the M-M story of Daegan and Gideon is one of the most moving/emotional/fight-worthy stories I have ever read! Really out-of-this-universe amazing!!]]

Amazing
Joey puts so much into her work and it shows with each story she writes. She never fails to amaze you. These story stories about her characters in their lives is wonderful to visit. You much get these books. You will very much enjoy them. I sure did.

THE BABY SHOWER
This is an update for Violet and Mac's story. Violet is pregnant and on leave since her due date is close. The women of the NATURE OF DESIRE Series and Sarah from IF WISHES WERE HORSES HAVE gathered to give Violet a baby shower. Mac Nighthorse is still working as a cop and on a raid. The story moves through the aftermath of the raid and how Violet helps center Mac.
TYLER TIED UP
We get an update Marguerite and Tyler. This is one of the is in some ways sad. Marguerite is continuing to grow and gain confidence with Tyler. I think what they end up doing is a little extreme it is something that brings some peace to Marguerite.
I loved the rest of the stories. It is hard to say too much about the other stories without giving too much away. All the stories are so good and full of emotion and love. There are a few that pulled the heart strings and some are lessons that we should probably think about. They are all very good and showcase the wonderful storytelling of Ms. Hill.

Great to revisit favorite characters!
I got this for the Ben & Celeste vignette from KOTB which was sexy & exciting. The other stories are just as entertaining and well written. Joey Hill is a great romance writer. Her erotic scenes are honest and real. I have loved all of her books that I have read so far.
