I would like to tell you a story about the girl who changed my life forever. This is deeper than a love story, this is a connection that most never find; something that occurs once every few lifetimes or so. I was written in her, she was written in me, we were written in the stars. Before you invest your time in our story, I should warn you. If you don’t believe in love at first sight or you rely on an unbending system to give your life a false sense of security and meaning, you should probably skip our story. On the contrary, if you can get to know us with an open mind, pretend for a little bit that you may have been systematically lied to your entire life, then my hope is that Tristan will have the same impact on you as she did me. I’m a better man because of her, and I hope that you find something potentially life-changing in her as well. She made me someone I didn’t know I wanted to be. For her. For me. For humanity.
I am a story teller, a life coach, and sometimes a little crazy. I’m at an amazing time in my life where doors are opening, adventures are happening, and new friends are being made. Life is fun and I want to share that joy with the world. I’m Jettie and I am unapolgetically me. "I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." Marilyn Monroe
I've been a long time fan of author Jettie Woodruff, and I could hardly contain my excitement when I learned she was writing a new book. Peace Love Resistance is nothing like she has written before though, this book is bold, unique and completely different from anything else that's out there in the romance genre. You need to read this book with an open heart and mind, let Jettie take you on this journey of passion for love, friendship and community.
Tobias is counting down the days until he turns eighteen. He is about to start his senior year in high school, but the summer before school starts his parents have decided to move him out of LA and away from his friends, after he got in trouble with the law for vandalizing private property.
Tobias's parents have been divorced for a long time, but have decided to give their relationship another try, and are all moving to their home in Virginia, a beautiful and isolated farm-house in the woods.
This teenager is going out if his mind with boredom, because there's nothing to do in the small town where he now resides. One night Tobias hears someone scream and he decides to go investigate. The last thing he expected was to find a beautiful girl trying to give birth to a baby in the middle of the woods.
Tristan is a heroine like no other. She is older than Tobias, at 21. Her views on life are completely opposite to Tobias's. She represents the new, the crazy, and the complicated, but nothing has seems more beautiful to him, as when he is with this girl. Tristan used to have it all, but her father's death was meant for her to wake up; wake up and learn, so she could educate and help others around her. Tristan has a very solid plan, to live from the land, to love and respect the planet and help others. Share the peace and love, and to help others learn to live free from all the greed, and selfish things in life. She wasn't suppose to fall in love with a clueless seventeen year old, but he has the ability to set her body and mind on fire with only one look.
Tobias is bewildered by everything Tristan is teaching him, and his love for her is a force to reckoned with, and he's just helpless when it comes to making her happy, not knowing that means his happiness too. He's been drifting away his whole life, from place to place, always following someone, and for the first time in his life he feels like his founds his home, a place where he's found the pieces of his heart he's always known have been missing.
I gotta be honest and say, that this book wasn't easy to relate to. The concept of this book is not something I've heard before, but I couldn't help but feel curious and be moved by the passion, and love in which the author wrote this book. It feels as if Jettie Woodruff found something that has made her heart happy and light , and she wants to selflessly share it with the world. And whether you agree with it, or relate to it, or not, is an interesting and beautiful book to read, and I'm sure anybody who read it will take something positive from the story. The book ended in a sort of cliffhanger, nothing too bad that will leave you pulling your hairs out, but it sets up the plot for the continuation on Tristan and Tobias's story.

Compellingly odd story. Strange characters with a messed up plot. Mind you i was interested enough to find out how this contradictory mishmash ended for Tobias, etc.
This book is nothing like anything I have ever read before. It's unique, it's meaningful and will change your way of thinking. It definitely came at the right time in my life. It makes you reflect on what's really important. There's so much negativity and hate that we need to change. This book shows you positive possibilities. Peace Love Resistance is changing my perception on life. I have read a few other books that have changed me for the better. One is Therapy by Kathryn Perez and another is Brightside by Kim Holden. These books are ones that will stay with a person and make them see it from the inside. I know they are just books, but they all have meaning.
This is just not a love story. It's about 2 people who change each other making each of them look outside the box, so to speak. It makes you look at life in a brighter picture. It's not who has a nice house, or what car you drive. It's about how we are made to be. For me, I want to be that better person. I can't wait for you to see what I'm talking about. Jettie has poured her soul into this book. She has created 2 characters, Tristan and Tobias. She dug deep into creating them. She opens your eyes and shows us about friendship and love through these 2 characters. Tristan is a free spirit type of girl; loving and caring. She beautiful inside and out. You feel so many emotions in this character. Tobias is a cocky teenager getting into trouble but having to face the consequences. When these two complete opposites form a friendship, anything is possible.
Honestly, take a chance. Read this book to see what I'm talking about. I really think it will open your mind to possibilities.
Rarely does a book have the ability to affect a person as deeply as Peace Love Resistance can. Like nothing you have probably every read before, this story should wake you up in some way. It may be small and it may be life altering, like it was for our protagonist, Ty. Like the blurb says, if you have an open mind and are ready to listen, this story has the potential change your life. Being taught by Tristan’s wisdom makes hearing about how society so easily follows along like a herd of sheep, never thinking or researching for themselves, should make it easy, but in essence, we the people are sheep and following along is so much easier than joining the Resistance and learning how to find and live in real Peace and Love.
Peace Love Resistance hit me in my very soul! Unlike anything I’ve ever read and needs to be rated on a whole different scale. It earns an amazing 5-stars from me for many reasons and I think this is a book that will provide different meanings and lessons to everyone that reads it. Whatever you are ready to hear or ready to change, will be ingrained in you. Other ideas will be seeds planted and ready to take sprout when you are ready. It touched my heart and touched my soul and I pray that I put into practice even just a portion of what I have learned.
There were times when I was reading this book that I wondered where it was going and I wondered if I would finish, but I could never put it down for long. I was so drawn into the story I became a part of the love journey that was Ty, Tristan and Baby-T. I had never heard of Twin Flames prior to this book, but now that I’m awake, I see signs and I hope I keep seeing them and keep awakening, all for the better. I learned from the lessons both Tristan and Ty were teaching and I can only hope to hold on to those lessons learned and grow from them. Never will I ever plant my face in an electronic device again while my young daughter bounces beside me craving my attention. It is a moment in time that is gone in an instant. I probably won’t remember what was so important on my phone tomorrow but I’m sure she will remember that she was not as important to me as that phone. Even now, I can recall times when she has said, “Did you see it?” and responded “No, you didn’t,” when I’ve said “yes”. Kids are smart, much smarter than we give them credit for and if we listen, they are teaching us a better way.
Jettie Woodruff has done an amazing job with this story, telling things like they really are. The story is written from Ty’s POV, telling us of the summer he met and fell in love with Tristan and how his world was opened to something he never knew existed nor wanted, but found himself unable to forget. Once you’ve been awakened you cannot go back to sleep. Most of us do exactly what Tristan says and distract ourselves from the important things in life with small electronic devices and social media. If we don’t think about it, then it isn’t there and it isn’t real. Sadly, that is not true and it is time for the world to wake up and think about what really is important.
I recommend this book to everyone. There are lessons to be learned here and everyone will retain something. Together, everyone can make the world a better place, small steps at a time, if we would just wake up!
I have voluntarily read and provided an honest review this book after receiving an ARC directly from the author.
Peace Love Resistance was about bringing awareness to the characters in this story by waking them up. Tristan made an impact on Tobias's life hoping it would cause a ripple effect. I appreciated Jettie's concern to bring more awareness towards humanity however this story wasn't the forum I would deem to preach that awareness.
"I’d do anything she told me to do." This in my opinion was a quote that rubbed me wrong. Tobias was blinded by Tristan willing to follow her lead. Stating he would do anything meant he was easily manipulated.
I was tired of Tristan claiming Tobias was asleep and that he needed to be awakened. He was making tremendous sacrifices to be with Tristan for the sake of love yet she made no sacrifices of her own for him.
I still felt like Tristan was leading and guiding Tobias to her path. It still felt like a belief system. No matter how you phrase it Tobias was being guided not by his own doing.
I felt lectured the entire time. Every choice had purpose and meaning. I felt resistance to her belief system. She too was seeking conformity for her beliefs.
I felt Tristan used affection to manipulate Tobias to believe in her belief system. He was suppose to change, alter, and disregard his life to adapt to her belief system.
When Tristan wasn't spouting her conspiracy theory beliefs the story was quite interesting. I struggled with the first half of the book. Tristan spent a great deal of time talking about how asleep Tobias was. How he was brainwashed by society. I kept waiting for some grand outcome to take place. It felt anti-climatic with all this big talk about changing people's views by awakening them by bringing awareness yet the forum for this type of awareness was limited to small communities of people.
Jettie wanted me to go into this story with an open mind which I did. I still felt Tristan was with Tobias because the twin flame connected them. Tobias was willing to do anything to be with her yet she was only interested in conforming him. I was not able to appreciate the message, content, nor the purpose of Jettie's intended storyline but that doesn't mean it wasn't written well. Jettie was too hung up on her characters preachings about humanity that I skimmed through those sections focusing solely on Tobias's character. I'm curiously reading to seek what the resistance plans to do about the issues of humanity. Furthermore, I'm interested in Tobias's involvement.
I didn't share in the story's beliefs that Jettie created with her characters. However, I wanted to understand the resistance and their purpose and the outcome of their group in humanity. I had to agree with Tobias my heart wasn't as open to Tristan's beliefs but my ears were open to what she had to say.
3.5 Stars This story was very different to anything I have read ( and also immensely enjoyed ) in the past by Jettie Woodruff, but this so wasn't a bad thing just a different type of journey waiting to be experienced. Tristan, Tobias and baby T, ( the three T's ) every moment of there life path touched my heart. It was wonderful seeing Ty grow, starting out as a typical selfish uncaring teenager only interested in how his life is affected by those around him, too a more thoughtful empathetic young man, questioning things instead of taking everything at face value. the relationship that progresses between Tristan and Tobias is beautiful in its simplicity and the emotion that connects them to baby T words can't describe, I am so in love with these three individuals. The idea that happiness is a state of mind makes you really think, in conclusion this novel makes you question your very existence and think deeply about the way you live your life and see others, it makes you want to colour between the lines yourself, Peace, Love, Resistance is more than just a story its a thought producing journey which will change the way you think.
I've read books by this author before and this book was a lot different then those, in a good way.
Tristan was great. She was spunky and down to earth, but she also had her.. quarks we will call them.
Tobias was a lot harder for me to get a read on. Maybe it was his age (17) or that he is male and I'm not, but I really did enjoy who he became over the course of the book. He was a typical badboy teen that slowly becomes a man.
The characters are fresh and different and unique. I loved what Tristan represented to Tobias and what he represented to her. Yes, in the end this is a love story; but it is also a learning experience of sorts for both main characters and everything has a slow evolve to it.
There were things that didn't jive with me in this book. I loved Tristan, but I couldn't connect with her. It wasn't because she was younger, she was just so different from who I am, that I couldn't imagine my self in her shoes. There were other little things but not being able to connect with the characters was the main one. (Just know that this is me, it won't be for every reader and not to be taken personally)
Overall; the author did an amazing job at giving us a story that would not only make us feel, but leave us with an impact that will stick with us, long after we have read it. I loved seeing something so different then her other books. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I think the plot of this book was well thought out and story itself was well written. The characters were well developed and this is definitely a book that makes you think.
That said, I at times I found the characters difficult to relate to. I'm not typically a fan for young adult romance books and these characters are definitely young (17 and 21). Age aside, I think I found it most difficult to relate to Tristan simply because of how different her views were. At times it felt like the author was trying to use the characters as way to change the world. Which is fine, but I like to read books to escape realty so this for me was a challenge.
That said, if you're into wanting to see how a very small percentage of the population lives, this book is definitely for you! The book provided great insight into how our world is changing and how we rely on many things that we shouldn't.
I received an advanced reader's copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This is the first book I've read from Jettie Woodruff and I was excited to get a copy because the synopsis of the story really captured me. Tristan intrigued me from the moment we first meet her. She lives freely and has specific ideologies that I am learning more and more about every single day.
I understand that this is a work of fiction, but honestly the concepts and beliefs that Tristan talks about all through the book are very real and truly need to be brought to more attention in the world. My husband and I wholeheartedly believe a lot of what Jettie has woven throughout the book. I would love to live the way that Tristan lives, and it is a work in progress to accomplish even a little of what she has already done in her 21 years.
Tobias was a unique young man. Not many 17 years old are as mature and conscious as he becomes in this story. Once his eyes are opened to the truths that Tristan is telling him, his whole being, state of mind, consciousness, whatever you want to call it completely changes. It was an experience watching him become aware of himself.
I truly enjoyed reading this story and as I said, I completely agree with a lot of what Jettie writes about, already aware of several things discussed but also learning about many, many new things that I've written down to research on my own.
I understand that I received an ARC of this book and as always, they come with a note that they are unedited and subject to change but I was confused on some issues. I'm not just talking about spelling errors but sentence structure, grammatical issues, and a few discrepancies that caught my attention while reading. For instance, Tristan is talking about the father of her baby and in one sentence she says one name, in another sentence she says a totally different name that was never explained so I was left confused until the very end of the book when he is mentioned again, which just made me remember the confusion earlier in the story. Ms. Woodruff has since indicated that the wrong file was uploaded for the ARC readers so perhaps all of these issues were addressed and cleaned up. Once I go back through my purchased copy to see if these issues were addressed I will adjust my review accordingly.
I got confused sometimes in who was speaking as a lot of the dialogue just runs on without indicating who is saying what. But this is my first book by Jettie and perhaps this is just her writing style, I am not sure. At any rate, I really did enjoy the story, I ate up the scenes with Baby T, especially the ones with Tobias.
For me at least, the messages that Jettie layered throughout the book came through loud and clear. I just hope that other people who read this, open their eyes and wake up, become enlightened to issues occurring in the world every day. I know that my family is trying to.
Jettie is back and she is making waves. This novel spoke to the roots of my love for this author. It was a break of fresh life into her recent works and brought back everything that I loved about her from the beginning with the knowledge of having written so many books since that point. It was flowing and beautiful. Detailed characters that few authors take the time to write, and a story line that not only grips you, but also move your soul.
Tobias and Tristan are a love story you wont soon forget.
A girl on a voyage to just live life to the fullest and a boy who is literally the exact opposite. A boy tied down by life and what society deems is important.
Boy are they a force the second they meet. Opposite yet perfect. If you don't believe in love at first sight, you will at least believe in fate after you read this book.
Sometimes your soul knows what you need more than you do. Sometimes your heart jumps the bandwagon and takes you for a ride.
This book was absolutely beautiful. Tristan will impact you as much, or maybe even more than she did Tobias. Read the book. Let it flow through you. Become as addicted as I did. The Synopsis: My name is Tobias Thomas Sheffield.
I received an ARC for an honest review. This book was very different from the other two series I have read of Jettie's, Underestimated and Twin Duo. Both of these series were dark, and although this book isn't that, it isn't all light and fluffy either. It's actually very deep. It makes you think of things you take for granted and things that you never think about since we are all on the treadmill of life. The main characters had great chemistry and Baby T was adorable. I heard there will be more in this series, and I am anxious to continue on with Tobias' and Tristan's journey!
"I could wake the whole world up if they would listen, but smart people seem crazy to ignorant people."
"Think positive thoughts and only positive things can come your way."
"You look like sunshine"
"Everything that comes into our lives is for a reason."
There are a few books that I have read that have made a true, meaningful change in my life. Books whose characters I truly believe, made me change the way I think, act and behave. (Therapy by Kathryn Perez, Brightside/Gus by Kim Holden are just a few that come to mind).
Peace Love Resistance is one of those books. I know, I know, it's a book, Louisa, it can't change your life! BUT IT CAN, THIS BOOK DID! It's just 2 characters who fall in love and live happily ever after, right? This book is so different. This book is so much more. This book is life changing. This book is eye opening. This book will have you re-thinking everything you believe, everything you have been taught...from the clouds in the sky to the clothes you wear.
Jettie Woodruff just didn't' write a book about the story of 2 people, Tristan and Tobias. It's just so much more than that. Ms. Woodruff has done her homework, she knows what she's talking about. She opens your eyes to the overwhelming deceit in which we are taught, daily. She opens your heart to the possibilities of love and friendship. She will open your mind to change the way in which you conduct your life and possibly change the way you view everyday occurrences.
Tristan is a young woman who is born into a world of freedom and love. Her parents travel the country to teach others to think freely and to be their own persons. Tristan's life changes when her father is found dead and her mother moves on to Clay, the antithesis of her father. Tristan plays the part of the "good girl", but deep down, she's not conforming to mainstream as her mother would want.
While traveling, Tristan sets up camp in a field in West Virginia, where her "twin flame" and soulmate will soon find her.
Tobias, the high school junior, who is being punished for defacing a national monument. He's taking the fall for his girlfriend and is hoping for a "slap on the wrist" punishment. Tobias is the total opposite of Tristan...he's the popular kid, worrying about his followers on facebook, his upcoming beer-laden trip with his girlfriend. His punishment will forever rock his world.
The relationship between Tobias and Tristan is slow to become physical but the metaphysical relationship is from possibly, multiple lifetimes. Their connection to one another is undeniable, unbreakable and simply one we all strive for in life.
Tristan is so loving, caring and a beautiful person. She will make you want to strive to be a better person. Be accepting of others, not putting down others who may not believe what she believes.
Watching Tobias grow as a person and a man was a beautiful sight. I can see why Tristan feels the way she does.
Take the time to read this amazing book, open your mind to other possibilities and I can almost promise you, when finish, you will most likely want to LIVE IN A VAN!
And yeah - this will be a series and you will immediately want more...don't worry! it's coming!!
My Review of Peace, Love, Resistance by Jettie Woodruff My Rating 5 Awaken My Heart Stars! Wow! What an incredible story, with such thought provoking emotion. This is nothing like anything I’ve ever read. Yet, it held so much power between the pages. This is a romance, different from anything you’ll read but it has an emotional side to it that will capture and awaken your heart…….and mind! The characters feel so real, I couldn’t help but love them. The life lessons in this story, talk about making you step back and think….Damn! This is definitely a book that has so much truth behind the lessons. The journey you take when you open the pages of Tobias and Tristan and Baby T is one you’ll most likely never forget. I’m won’t give the storyline away, because this book truly must be experienced and you’ll find no spoilers here. Take a chance and read, experience and savor this book. Bravo, Jettie on such an amazing tale of love and life the writing was flawless just as your characters are not….Much Love!! *Reviewed by Momma Hellmouth for Hellmouth’s Bookblog & Reviews*
3 1/2 stars for this new book by Jettie Woodruff. I have read alot of her books before and have always enjoyed them. This book is definitely a departure from Jettie W's past works, but not in a bad way. We still get to see some great scenes with the leads and kids. You will fall in love with Baby T! We also get two strong minded characters (which I know Jettie writes well). I really enjoyed the story line between Tobias and Tristan and thought it was very unique from anything that I have ever read before. The reason why Peace Love Resistance lost a star in my eyes was because of the way Tristan talked down to Tobias and I felt her a little condescending and "lecture-y". I know she was Awake and trying to teach Tobias but sometimes I felt the need to yell "Stop the preaching already." The other half a star was lost because I felt parts of the ending was a little rushed and I wanted to know more about certain other people. (No Spoilers) Overall I was still able to enjoy the book despite some minor irritations and I will keep on reading what Jettie Woodruff puts out.
Just a little info and possibly a spoiler or two. Tristan is a 21 year old girl traveling the county in her van. Tobias is a 17 year old boy who just got kicked out of California. This is their love story, but it's so much more.
Tristan does not believe our country is on a good path. She doesn't like additives in our food or all the government control. She believes that everyone in our entire country are like sheep and are controlled by less than 10 groups. And now it is her job to teach Tobias. Add to that a baby, a murder mystery, some sex and you have a great story. Hope you enjoy their story.
I received an ARC for an honest review. This is my first book from Jettie and I can honestly say I really enjoyed this book. Watching Tobias go from an out a control 17 year old to meeting Tristan and finding himself was really an eye opening experience. I could relate to Tristan and how she felt towards everything as she reminds me of my older brother.
This is an amazing book. It makes you think, while you fall in love with Tristan, Tobias, and baby T. I have never read a book like this. Jettie does a wonderful job in getting inside your head. Thanks for waking us up and introducing us to this couple and their journey.
Peace, Love Resistance is a new adult romance story featuring two characters who could not be more different. But while Ty and Tristan’s meeting was decided by fate, it wasn’t always easy for the reader to accept or even appreciate.
To be honest, I wasn’t completely on board with the twin-flame thing—or really anything Tristan had to say. Frankly, she was extremely annoying and preachy. Her conspiracy theory beliefs were, thankfully, not all completely off the wall—though it irked me tremendously to know that she was most definitely a person who was never going to vaccinate her kids—but the number of times she went on a multiple-page-long shpeal about why all people are sheeple and we’re all brainwashed and yadda yadda yadda…It got old so fast. It’s a wonder Ty could even stand it.
But Ty isn’t faultless either. The book is mostly a ping pong between him complaining about how much he hates his parents and Tristan ranting about how brainwashed she believes all of us to be. I won’t lie; it made the first half of the book a major drag.
But I pushed on, and I’m glad I did. After about the middle point, something about the tone changed. Tristan got a little less preachy, perhaps, or maybe Ty got a little less entitled. I actually consumed the second half pretty quickly because in the end I did find the romance sweet and the culture of Tristan’s van-living, off-the-grid, free life kind of romantic in its own way. If the author had sped up the development in the first half of the story a little bit, this book would have probably knocked it out of the park.
While the ending, for some, might be a little anticlimactic, I ended up liking it; it did seem to tie things up nicely. The “villain” wasn’t who I was expecting, and the book would have taken a very different turn if it was. I think perhaps it might have been a little better, honestly, but it would have made this book darker and grittier than the light read it is, giving it a little more depth than it had. Still, I like it the way it is and think the author did a pretty good job of telling it.
I probably wouldn’t ever pick this book up again, but I would be interested to see what else this author has written. She has a clear and concise writing style, although I did find a few word misuses (such as “layer” instead of “lair”). I also thought she did a good job developing the characters. I did feel slightly weirded out about reading explicit sex scenes with a 17-year-old, but I guess since it’s a novel and not a movie or TV show, it’s not creepy…right?
Barring that, if you like romance, you’ll probably like this book! Just go in knowing that you’ll feel attacked for being a sheeple, and try not to be too annoyed when Tristan says it for the thousandth time.
Reading the first few chapters of this book, and I thought it was so weird, then the next few chapters passed and I had to recommend it to a friend.
This book is unlike any book I have EVER read, and I loved it so darn much. I can't even adequately express how much I love it. This book has opened my heart and showed me a love like no other. A love bond by something so much more than this world and the materialistic things. Romance books are one of my top faves, so love is something I love. Love is something I have seen in so many different ways and in so many different people, but I have never seen love like this. I have never experienced these emotions while reading a book. Not only has it opened my heart, but it's opened my eyes and has me rethinking so many things about my life.
Tobias, or Ty, is like any other kid in this country. He likes his name brands, he has to look good. He loves to surf and hang with his friends. His world is perfect, or so everyone thinks. His life growing up wasn't easy, nor was it a life he wanted. He wasn't always the "pretty boy". But the way his life was gonna go, was out of his hands. With not being legally old enough, he parents still said what he could and couldn't do, at least when they cared to worry about him. Not making the best of decisions, he finds him self in the last place he wants to be, with the last people he wants to be with. He can't change it, so he has to go with it. He thinks it's pure hell, until he runs smack dab into crazy.
Tristan is that crazy. Living her life in the most simplest of ways, for such an amazing reason, is so inspirational, to some. She is the voice people flock to hear, because she stands for something that matters. She doesn't follow the heard and be like everyone else. She doesn't believe everything she is told, and because of that, she's 'crazy', to a lot of people. She feels deeply. She loves deeply. She IS deep. Touching people, showing people, connecting to people is what she does, and what she will continue to do, no matter what anyone says.
I wish a thousand times over, that I could live a life like Tristan. I fell so in love with her, it isn't even funny. There are so many places in my life where I can 'simple down' and I can't wait to try. I can't wait to try a few things she has talked about and ways she lives. This is a book of fiction and she has made me want to be a better person. That's what she does in her story, and I hope that's what she continues to do, with everyone who reads this book.
I have never highlighted parts of a book before, I never found a need to, until this one. There was so many parts that touched me, but the 3 that stuck with me the most, are below....
"Some people complete you, some people change you, and some people make you."
"Even when we were away from each other, she was there; prominent in the front of my mind, embedded in my heart and connected to my soul."
"It burned deep in my soul and bound us together forever, through as many lives as she would have me. Eternity times infinity, times ten more."
If that doesn't give you a glimpse into how deep and amazing this story is, than I don't know what else will. But don't go thinking it's all sunshine and rainbows for them, because it definitely isnt. They have twists, turns, ups, downs, sunshine and STORMS. Major storms! But after every storm there IS a rainbow.
Tobias (Ty) Sheffield's world has just been turned upside down when his mom moves the two of them from California to West Virginia after her was involved in defacing property. What begins as punishment turns into something beautiful and beyond anything Tobias has ever experienced before when he meets Tristan.
Tristan is not what Ty expects and when he helps her out with her son she opens his mind up to everything he had never seen before and teaches him about how to view life differently.
But when Ty does something that betrays Tristan will she find it in heart to move past it and forgive him as some love doesn't come around too often.
This story was amazing but on a level that made me question everything in society. The book does not preach but just opens your eyes to other things that are around you and the way you deal with certain things.
The book was about love, trust and openness but also just about living the life that you want to. I definitely think there are ways that my own life will change due to this book but in certain ways I am really understanding what Tristan was getting at.
I loved Tristan and her view of the world. She understands some of the basics and I think she can teach us all something from it all. I definitely can do better with what I have learned from the book and will definitely try harder with other things.
Tobias was a person I could completely relate to as I think he represents most of us and how we think and act. I absolutely loved the changes he made in his life and I could understand his anger towards his parents, specifically his mom. He saw the world one way at the beginning but definitely opened up to looking at it differently at the end.
This book is not a typical romance book but is a book that will challenge your mind and the way you view things. It definitely made me look at things in a different way and I really think that I have learned a few things and will definitely be working on a gratitude journal after this with my kids!
Tristan is a twenty-one year old free spirit. After coming across a tape her deceased left behind at the young age of ten, she vowed to devote her life to restoring humanity and "waking-up" people one person at a time. Tobias is a popular seventeen year old teenager. His life in LA consists of having a good time, creating videos for his YouTube channel and getting likes on his Facebook posts. A night out with his friends leading to poor choices gets him kicked out of the state. Tobias now has to relocate- he and his mother go to live with his estranged father. Needless to say Tobias is furious that he is being punished this way three months shy of turning eighteen and right before his senior year of high school.
Circumstances lead Tobias to Tristan. Tobias feels a deep connection to Tristan and refuses to let her push him away. Tristan feels a strong connection to Tobias as well. However, she is too caught up with the fact that Tobias has conformed to society and is living his life following a system that has been put in place to dumb down humanity. If Tobias truly wants to be with Tristan he must follow her lifestyle and way of thinking.
Will Tobias be able to overlook everything he has ever learned and look at the world through a different view? Will Tristan be patient enough to support Tobias through his transformation? Does one plus one really equal three?
Peace, Love, Resistance is definitely a one of a kind read. The thought provoking conversations that take place in this story cause you to stop and think about certain things that influence your own life. This is the first book I have read by Jettie Woodruff and I am looking forward to reading more of her work.
When I started this book I was a little unsure and it was kinda slow going, but the more I got into it the more it intrigued me.
This isn't your typical love story and it far from anything I've ever read, but it fascinated me because it was unconventional.
As punishment for his crime Tobias must serve it under his parents guidance by moving back in with his dad in the middle of nowhere in Virginia, you see his parents have been divorced for several years but have reconciled now and intend to look after Tobias.
Tobias is trying to adjust to the boredom of his new found life while all his friends from LA live it up in Mexico. So when one night, from his families farm in the woods,he hears a scream, when he investigates he finds a girl alone giving birth.
Tristan is a different sort of girl, unusual but that's what draws Tobias to her she is nothing like he's encountered before. You see Tristan is older than Tobias and refuses to conform to the conventional lifestyle choices and has some crazy outlooks, but is an interesting character, free spirited in everything. Tristan doesn't want to fall in love with a "sheeples" like Tobias, but their connection is deep and meaningful, almost beyond love at first sight, like they met before. They are twin flames embarking on a journey of Peace, love and freedom.
This was a different sort of book that I've read from Jettie, but I love it's uniqueness, it might have been slow in parts but it'll pull you in nonetheless and have you utterly intrigued with something unexpectedly good for some, something different.
I received an arc in return for my honest opinion.
