Reviewed cos I dislike slapdash writing
BB Hamel, you let me down with this one. Big time.
I hate when I feel driven to write a review because I have HATED a book so much, but Imma make an exception in this case.
So, what a complete cluster fuck of a book.
That was two hours of my life I can never ever get back.
Who knew?
The title reads dark bad boy romance but it is just a weak story with an attention grabbing headline
And as for that Emily, she has zero backbone.
Sheesh!
The girl resists, for all of a nanosecond before she is swayed by his rugged good looks and ripped torso full of tattoos (yeah, let's throw some tatts in as well, why not, right? But no MC or alien warriors...those genres played out now BBH??) and starts on a series of blow jobs, outdoor sex and a liaison in the poolhouse - the POOLHOUSE!!! Could you get any more clichéd than this? Well, apparently, with this book, hell yes you can....
Oh. My. Gandy. The book is all written up and sold as steamy but the characters fell way short of the mark and just felt half assed, in a bland and rather sleazy way.
And as for the focus of the piece? The smexy dialogue just felt wrong and the whole "call me daddy" stuff came off as icky and truly unbelievable. Those two rutted like gerbils whenever they got within 10 ft of each other and then said 'aah, we shouldn't a done that...oopsie...'
It ain't dark....It ain't bad boy....It definitely ain't romance.
The 1 star is for the effort of getting it published. A bit more care and it could have been a real scorcher. Pity.
There has only been one book so far where the writing was so slapdash and story building so cheesy I looked up several times from my kindle, cringing with shame and embarrassment for the writer. Congrats BBH, you've made this one the second.

Holy Cow this book was smoking hot . This is to be honest my first read from this author and she is amazing . I am so glad I was selected to read this early as an arc .
Who doesn't love a step daddy and step daughter romance ! I am a sucker for relationships like these in books . Phew they can get extremely hot .
Carter is a billionaire playboy who is used to getting everything he wants and everyone . When the board members of the company try to push him out saying that his playboy image is affecting the company. In walks in Evelyn his secretary who has the grand solution . They will get MARRIED but with a price .
Carter is all for this idea and thinks it's a great idea to make it look real . But little did he know that Evelyn's daughter Emily Intrigued his eye and he hasn't been able to stop thinking about her . Carter and Emily have immediate attraction to each other . By little by little carter seems to push his way through her walls and she finally gives into the temptation .
But they aren't the only ones that know about there little secret. Who else knows ?
Carter has the biggest decision to make of them all , will he pick love or his company ?
This book had lots of drama and lots of laugh out loud moments . I loved that the author brought so much to the table with this book . It was an outstanding book and I wanted more .
One thing I am always looking for in books is that there is a older alpha male guy and a younger girl . I don't know something about the age gap does that to me . The more experience they have ;)
The sexual encounters in this book were hot and explosive I thought my kindle might combust with how hot it was . I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves step daddy and stepdaughter romances . You won't be disappointed .

This is yet another homerun for B.B. Hamel with her dirty men. If you are looking for something that’s hot with chemistry between two people that will bring some to their knees this is definitely a book for you. Carter seems to have it all and wants even more…say in the form of a sexy woman who he should really keep his hands off from. That is unless he wants to blow his world apart. Emily is more temptation than Carter can handle but handle her he does!! You can’t go wrong with a hot read like this.

I enjoyed reading Emily & Carter's story. Carter is a playboy billionaire who needs to clean up how act because some of the board members want him out. Carter comes up with a plan to marry his secretary but never thought he would fall for her daughter. The chemistry is instant and when they are together it is explosive. You kinda know who was behind the blackmailing and threats to Carter & Emily, but I still enjoyed there story

2 Cheesy-Stars! ☆☆
This was very cheesy. The story was laid on pretty thick. I didn’t really believe the conversations between characters. The whole time all I kept thinking was, “I would never say that,” or “why is he/she acting like that?”
Carter was hot, I’ll give you that. “He wore expensive suits like he was born in them, and the man was known to date multiple women at the same time.”
Yes, he is portrayed as a hot-muffin, but he is sleazy beyond belief. His personality sucks.
Certain parts felt rushed, while others felt too long. And I don’t understand why he was THROWING himself at his stepdaughter. That’s not hot and not cool. It’s a little pathetic.
“I knew that I could work her body like she’d never felt before. She was used to idiot college guys, but I was older and way more experienced than them. They probably came in ten seconds after feeling her tight silky c#nt wrapped around their little baby cocks. I could show her how a real man f#cks, all she had to do was give in to me.” -Cocky Much?
It took way too much effort to get through this book. I normally don’t mind quick romance novels but this was boring bordering on creepy. I caught myself skipping over paragraphs because certain parts were too long for no reason.

QUEEN OF THE BAD BOY KNOCKS ANOTHER BAD BOY OUT OF THE BALL PARK!!!!
I have been reading the work of BB Hamel for a while now and she never lets me down. I love an author that can write book after book and never let you down. “Man of the House” is another reason I call her the Queen of the Bad Boy. She takes a story line and works the characters in so perfectly that you can actually feel like you are there in that world. She can make you feel every emotion in the book. The secondary characters work so perfectly to make the plot come to life. She grabs your attention at the beginning of the book and she keeps it the end. You do not want to put the book down. Trust me when I say “holy shit” what a book!!!
Carter is the owner and founder of Valor Tech. He started the company when he was 18 years old and living in his mother’s basement. Now is facing the loss of his company because of his scandals and the stupid shit he pulled. But the icing on the cake was when he met this lovely lady at a charity function that talked very eloquently about his work. Well after he get his “blow job” from her he finds out she is married to an engineer in his own company. Now the board wants him out if he doesn’t change his ways…. now here come his secretary and confidant, Evelyn with the plan that they marry and he appears to have changed his scandalous behavior. She is going to help him and he offers her a boat load of money. The plan was a winner, and then he meets her daughter Emily. Well now he is in a shit load of trouble again. Emily is barely 10 years younger than him and has a body that makes him want to be very bad. It is risky but he can’t resist her. Is Carter able to keep Emily and his company? Or will he lose everything, including Emily?

That was a rough one to get through. I never connected with either character and found them both to be rather boring. The drama/trouble was also rather boring and never really amounted to much. I skim read the last 50%.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
He is a naughty boy!!! Scandals follow him, he is a naughty playboy who is about to be tripped up by his own doing....shame on yourself Carter. You should have known she was married, and no less to a board member.....tsk tsk. Carter built this company when he was just a teenager....he grew this company and grew with this company. This is his baby. He should have known. Now his empire is being blackmailed against him. Can he stop it? What is the plan to get out of this latest scandal for Carter? Good thing he has one hell of an awesome secretary. Between her posing this idea and him taking her up on the offer to polish up his image in the public eye, there is a lot that happens. Not to mention what happens during and after.
Sitting here gaping at her mom, who just broke the news that she is married (which later in the book you will find out another reason why this is causing poor Emily to look at her mom this way) and no less to Carter, the arrogant, most scandalous naughty playboy known to all women. Come to think of it other than her and her mom, is there any woman he hasn't had??? Wait, what?? Why is Emily thinking this way. One minute she bickers with him, all while he smiles that cocky smirky smile of his....what is happening.
Mom, Carter and Emily are living at Carter's mansion (it might be considered to small to call a mansion but I am not sure what to call it.) Emily has been given her own wing and it was turned into her own apartment in this place. While mom and Carter are on the opposite side of the place. Funny though for a place as big as this why is it that Emily and Carter are the only ones who keep "bumping" into each other??? No matter, because they are going to take advantage of these meetings....chemistry and frustration and bantering can only lead to something explosive when it happens - and believe me it does.
There are some smaller twists and then a big one, and all along you don't see this coming. You are barely putting pieces together from one when the next twist starts. The way they progress, and the way Emily and Carter progress are MUCH too good to miss. All the dynamics for these too. I will give one spoiler for you, they do have a happy ending, but man the journey to get there and the steps they all have to go through to get this this place are incredible. Secrets are revealed, laughter happens, and a true miracle seems to transpire.....LOVE. Now, who says it first? Who takes the lead? Who wouldn't want to read this book and all the YUMMY trials and tribulations these two have to go through to have their happy ending? It is a "once I started this book, I couldn't put it down" and you will not want to.

THAT WORKED BUT THEN HE MET EVELYN DUAGTHER AND HE STARTED TO FALL FOR HER THE IS ALSO ANOTHER SHOCKER TO COME ABOUT THE MUM BUT YOU HAVE TO READ TO FIND THAT OUT ALSO THE BAD GUY IN THIS STORY IS NOT CARTER BUT BUACE AND COX THAT BETRAYED CARTER FOR BUACE BUT DID NOT END UP HOW THEY WANTED IT TO GOT ALSO HAVE TO READ TO FIND OUT HOW IT ENDED ALSO HOW THINGS WITH CARTER AND EMILY ENDS UP. THIS IS A GOOD READ IT WAS ENJOYABLE AND ENTERTAINING TO READ AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO OTHERS. Man of the House was such a pleasure to read . Wow , I loved the cover as well .
This " insane and messed up" story starts when sexy brilliant and dominant Carter Green meets Emily ," his stepdaugher" after he married her mother Evelyn Murphy ,his secretary . They're not in love and the marriage is a gros media-obsessed sham for the public eye. Emily is like no one else Carter 's ever been with. She is beautiful and brutally honest . Emily and Carter had me sucked in from their very first meeting .I love a book that can grab me and hold me , making me so anxious to see what's going to happen next .
Don 't think now you 're going to enjoy your typical bad boy romance while reading ..... Oh no , because as you begin the journey with these two magnetically drawn people , you know that you're in for an exciting ,blackmaling taboo adventure that titillates and delivers . The steamy parts were deliciously steamy though not overly kinky and held a passionate feeling . BB always creates these sexy, bad ass and players bad boys that we can't avoid to love the second we meet them. There's just something about the confidence and the arrogance that just makes the irresistible.
Carter is no exception, he is trying to get his act together and has come up with a plan that is as crazy as he is, but that can actually work. the problem is he wasn't counting on meeting sweet Emily.
She is young and beautiful and off limits and that just makes her even more of a challenge for him.

Emily can't believe that her mom is marrying her boss Carter Green to help him out of sticky situation. Emily wants nothing to do with Carter or his arrogant ways either. This book definitely took a dark turn and taboo subject too. The characters and story were compelling, complex, raw, gritty, real, and brutally honest. I can't say enough good things about this book. I look forward to my next adventure with this author.

Great writing, excellent story-line, strong characters, humor, secrets, blackmail, intense chemistry, some drama, a hot and sexy billionaire bad boy, romance, and hot sex scenes. Man of the House... it's hot, it's naughty, it's fantastic!

This book is so sizzling hot! I do not want to give anything away, but let me tell you that the scene in the Turkish Bath was so hot, that it is a wonder that my kindle did not catch on fire. Not only that, but this book has a great story, that I did not want to put down. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced copy, and as you should be able to tell, I highly recommend this book.

I loved this story. Carter even though he was in his mid-thirties had a lot of growing up to do. Emily was just the woman to help him figure that out. Money is not everything.

I don't know where to start with this.
There were so many little and big things that irked me or didn't make this story work and I just couldn't go along and get immersed in the story. Even the daddy-kink stuff didn't really work for me, which shocked me because I'm almost always on board for that.
We're dropped into the story post wedding, so we don't even see when Carter first gets a glimpse of Emily and suddenly agrees to be married to Emily's mom. The only set up we got was in the summary, but he's already, in front of his now new wife, telling Emily to call him daddy. At least wait till the Mom leaves Carter.
There isn't any romantic feelings between the mom and Carter, at all, this is all for mutual benefit, Carter gets some good PR (although since he's attracted to Emily why didn't they just figure something out where he and Emily could get married and leave the mom out of it) anyway, and the mom gets some financial stability and pay for Emily's college. Oh and it's just dropped into the story about half way through that the Mom is also gay, so yet another reason why I thought it would have made more logical sense for Emily and Carter to "marry".
And speaking of Emily...she did nothing. She puttered around the house all day and just sat by the pool...sometimes went exploring in the house. She didn't have a job, she didn't go to college, I know college was mentioned but I have no idea what happened with it because we never see her leave the house and apparently she has no friends. Emily's age wasn't specifically mentioned but it is mentioned that Carter is 35 and that Emily was barely ten years younger so she'd be 25, again why wasn't she doing anything?
It bothered me that the mom wasn't more forceful with Carter. All through out the book she tells him...sort of to leave her daughter alone, don't go after her. She sees they are attracted to each other but because she knows his reputation she wants them to stay away from each other...which of course they don't and the Mom has zero reaction.
There's a bit of a mystery plot, who's threatening them but it's not that hard to figure out. And what was with the animal deaths Emily kept walking in to. The first she saw a

So I am surprised by some of the negative reviews on here that are essentially complaining because of the sorta but not really taboo aspects of this book. So disclaimer if you are interested in reading this book: Carter is married to Emily's mother, but in name only. He is in no way related to Emily and there is some not so romantic language. But the characters do grow and there is a story within. So if you like reading books that are a little more dirty than a normal Romance novel, or erotica than you should be open minded.(If that's your thing) Especially if you have the option of getting it through Amazon Kindle Unlimited.
If I had to describe this book without fear of labels I would say it is a full length Erotica Novel that deals with a married (in name only) man falling for his of age (in name only) stepdaughter.
Now while I do defend this book against certain comments mentioned in other reviews I don't think it is an amazing book or a must read. It does have some steamy moments and I don't think it was a waste of time. I enjoyed it for what it was and think that if you have kindle unlimited and are looking for this kind of thing just go ahead and give it ago.

This taboo story of a stepfather and his stepdaughter is hot and intense. There is some drama, there is some intrigue, and of course there is some secrecy (to be expected when their relationship is off limits, right?) This author handles the balance of this book well – it's not overpowered by smut or the suspense. The romance and the drama both have an equal footing in this. I could not put this book down!
Emily finds herself in an awkward situation when her long time single mother, Evelyn, marries and that man turns out to be Evelyn's boss. Carter has been a long time playboy who has starred in many scandals, and the last person Emily wants for a stepfather. She doesn't want to go along with the charade but if her mother trusts Carter, then Emily decides to give him the benefit of the doubt. The tension between Emily and Carter is apparent right from the start. Their chemistry is obvious, even to Emily's mother Evelyn. When someone starts blackmailing Carter, it becomes clear that someone else knows about their taboo love affair...

How could she do this???!!! Just when I was excited for a peaceful summer off from college my mother goes and marries someone half of her age and wants us to move in with him! He's an arrogant jerk which makes everything that much worse! The way he looks at me has more meaning than just his new stepdaughter. Emily wants her life back but her mother isn't giving her much of a choice but to go along with this false marriage and helping her out her fake husband pull this thing off! As soon as Carter saw her he knew he wasn't going to be able to keep his hands off Emily. Can they resist each other long enough to get through this image problems or are things just heating up??

Just finished reading and boy was it hot! The chemistry between Carter and Emily was so hot. Loved the taboo forbidden story line and how their relationship progressed. I enjoyed how the storyline didn't seem rushed like other books and how it stuck with the same plot not adding any twist and turns (one thing I hate most about books). But I have to say I loved the ending the most because it was beautiful and romantic. Only complaint I have is I want more! Thanks for the amazing read!

I really liked this book. It's sexy with a touch of humor. I am a huge fan of B.B. Hamel, once again she doesn't disappoint. I have to admit this is a sinful seductive book that reaches to the depths of a taboo episode between two people. A rich playboy who owns his own company, needing a change of society's thoughts of him enters into a crazy sham of a marriage, little does he know what develops will change not what people think of him but who he is to his very core. This is a really good book. Solid four stars!

The writer has written a great story which is hot, steamy and romantic, she has added excitement and some twists and turns, I really enjoyed reading this book and will be eagerly reading more by this talented writer
