Smitten

Rate this book
Benjamin Hunter had his whole life planned out. He was going to graduate high school, leave town, go to college and have a better life, in that particular order. Then something unexpected happens. He meets a scared little kid, and in that moment, knows his life has changed forever. All of a sudden, his plans take on a whole new different meaning.
“Mac” Mason knew he was timidity personified. He could never bring himself to stand up to his abusive step-father and protect his mother. Only his best friend, Ben, makes life worth living. But when Ben goes to college, Mac is stuck in the middle of his parents’ fighting with no way out. He never knew he could miss one person this much. So when he wakes up in a cabin, bound hand and foot, and the first face he sees is his best friend, he can barely believe it.
The desire to make a perfect life for both Mac and himself has become Ben’s driving force. Will he be able to convince Mac that his feelings for him are more than being ‘smitten'? Or will he discover the shocking truth that Mac has been hiding something from him as well?

Okay, where do I begin? This whole review is a SPOILER !!
SPOILER: IMO This story left me baffled as to why anyone would write this.
At halfway I was disgusted, and skimmed the rest. It started out as a sad tale of an abused Mom and kid, by her new husband, but every man she had before was abusive, too. Ben saves him from bullies in school, protects him, goes away to college, comes home and dumps his girlfriend.

Then a main character, Ben, snaps !

I skimmed the rest, disgusting ending, unrealistic and creepy. Incomprehensible !
Cannot recommend.
