The heroine: Tamara - a graphic designer looking for a job in a tough industry. She was living hand to mouth and not very well. In the past she had been accused of lying, cheating and stealing from her lying previous employer/unofficial partner (and jilted ex boyfriend) and employers didn’t give her the time to prove that she was not guilty of those things. She was currently working at a restaurant that was not busy enough to put her on full time. She will not make her rent the next month when the vampire dating agency she signed up for selects her for a new program dating shifters. She planned to stay the week, get paid her stipend for that week and leave with enough money to pay her rent.
The Heroes: Thunder - He is a dragon shifter and the Air King. He had bad luck in the last hunt. He had ended up with a gold digger who wanted nothing more than the status of being a queen, diamonds, jewels, clothes and cars. He wanted a true mate, someone who loved him and would give him heirs.
The Story: Tamara doesn’t plan on falling in love or staying for longer than a week or two when she finds herself in the mountains running in a hunt for a dragon shifter to find her and claim her. She wanted to be clear to them that she was not in it for long term, even though she said in her interview that she was keen on mating a shifter.
Like the last book, this was told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narrators were Stella Bloom and Troy Duran. Troy is my favorite narrator with a deep and sexy voice. Stella has an emotive and feminine voice and she does a great job with everything she does. I liked the characters, this series has had some terrific characters.
Thunder was a bit over the top in the last book. He wanted a human female so bad and wasn’t afraid to take what he wanted and didn’t want to wait to get to know her before jumping into bed with her. This time he thought he would play things differently especially when he saw that Tamara was a bit jumpy. He promised to win her heart before he claimed her. However, he doesn’t get the chance when a crazy dragon shifter breaks the rules of the hunt and changes to his dragon and flies off with Tamara. I really love this series and plan to listen to more of this series and more from this author.

Honestly.... I could only think about this guys junk downstairs and and..... the rest of him the whole time through out this book. Like.... wtf is plot? Wtf is going on...? OH look! MAN FLESH!

Another Hartnady book read, and I am still completely hooked. Absolutely adore the world-building.
Hartnady writes fun, fresh, easy and carefree.
It’s very “un-complicated”. Very sweet, and the sex is 🔥.
Plot wise I find the books to be “lacking”. But lacking in a way that the main focus is winning a female, and convince said female to mate. That is the main goal. That and in the end finding love.
If you have read the previous books, you will see this pattern, and it really is okay, because it’s what I expect when picking up anything from Hartnady.
This book is good entertainment. Gotta say I am not wowed, but I sure as hell am entertained. It’s really light, and even the big issues seems lighter as well.
In this instalment there was “competition”. We had several fights, so there was action. The book just don’t have the kind of angst, and “deep feelings”, that I am normally drawn to. And yet I can’t seem to stop returning to this world. Guess I am somewhat hooked😂

Lightning Dragon is the thrilling fourth installment in The Bride Hunt series. The story follows characters who must run for their lives from creatures they never knew existed.
While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters just need to stay alive, but what they discover is more significant than they ever imagined.
I love the strong, sexy alpha males in protective roles!

Wow this was great. Thunder and Tamara’s story was really great and played into the underlying backstory that’s been a current theme throughout the books.
I really like Tamara she doesn’t take no crap and she’s not a whiner that’s for sure. So far for the most part the females in the hunt have been “won” and taken back to luxury in the perspective lairs but not poor Tamara. She gets won...and then she gets captured by another male with a heartbreaking story but a couple screws loose. Then she gets rescued and then captured again and so on and so forth. Bless these two’s hearts because they got put through the blender for sure.
I notice we are slowly learning more and more about the dragon species and their strengths and weaknesses which was really interesting considering how Thunder uses his “powers” (insert suggestive eyebrow raise here.)
I really want to know what is in store for our shifter population but I also need to go back once again because I sense that there is way more to this underlying thing.

Tamara can't believe she is going to be part of the Bride Hunt but desperate times make for desperate measures. She keeps telling herself she only needs to get through the next two weeks and she will have money in her hand. Of course she didn't expect to find herself with Thunder, King of the Air Dragons. Nor did she expect to be kidnapped by another dragon and finding herself protecting and tending to Thunder. Could Tamara's jaded past keep her from the one thing she truly wants? Thunder?
This author has a way of writing a story and having the reader get swept away in the book. I loved Thunder, he is entertaining and a charmer. Tamara I was not sure how I would like her since you know her back story from the first chapter so I wasn't sure where her story would lead. Liked everything about this book.

I'm a huge fan if this author, I've read every single book. This one was OK. It was a little boring at times and I didn't really like Tammy's character at times. I really liked thunder and the sexy times. The ending was really good and can't wait to read more.

The bride hunt series is another one of my favourites! It has hot shifters, human females and saga. Tammy is down on her luck due to her ex literally ruining her life. She is almost out of money and has thus applied to the Program to mate with a vampire, as the money would help her. Unbeknownst to her is that she will end up with the dragon shifters as part of their hunt to find a mate, and increase their dragon numbers.
Thunder is taken with Tammy from the beginning, unfortunately she is kidnapped and he breaks the rules to get her back, as he believes she is his mate. After quite some time in the wilderness, they get to know each other intimately and learn a lot about each other. They return to the Air Kingdom, only to be attacked and then worse, separated. We get our HEA!! Looking forward to the next book.
Can we get a short novella at some point which lets us know about the kids born into these relationships that we have read about previously, as in are they also shifters and royalty etc?..

I loved it!

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book four of six of The Bride Hunt series.

A grief-stricken dragon stealing the King of Air Dragons' chosen? That is something that Thunder will not allow. Especially after he was humiliated in the last Bride Hunt. And there's something about Tamara that he can't let go of. Cloud blames him for the loss of his mate so revenge is all he seeks, but Thunder is determined to save Tamara and nothing is going to stop him. Tamara though starts out disillusioned and jaded about love and relationships, but as she interacts with Thunder she discovers that not every male is the same. What follows is a nail-biting chase as the two Dragons battle to gain the upper hand. And Thunder's pursuit of Tamara is adorable even though he needs a push in the right direction eventually. Thunder is so sweet. After all the bumbling idiotic things he's done in the last few books he really redeemed himself in this one. In fact, I think of all the Dragon Royals he has to be the most decent one. Thunder is now my fav Dragon King.

The fast pasted drama began quickly in this book. The Lightning Dragon, Thunder was pursuing Tammy in "The Hunt" along with other shifters. Just as Thunder was taking possession of his prize, the human bride candidate Tammy, a surprise attack left him speechless and empty handed. I loved the storyline of this book. The sudden shift in the direction of this tale left me wondering what was going to happen next. I was right to wonder because there were many more unexpected developments before this drama ended. This was one of my favorite "Bride Hunt" books so far. I admired Thunder and Tammy both strong resilient characters that never gave up. I also enjoyed the fact that most of this story took place in the wild hilly open expanse of dragon country which was refreshingly different from the previous "Bride Hunt" books. Great story with wonderfully memorable characters!!!!!

As with the earlier volumes in this series the bride in this story has been at the point of destitution making the case for submitting to a dragon shifter hunt as a means of husband mating more agreeable. The hunt has many rules to protect the females. Thunder, Air King and the loser in some previous hunts has caught up to Tamara and they are negotiating their commitment when another dragon shifter breaks the rules by hunting in dragon form and kidnapping Tamara. Cloud is a little bit unstable and been under watch within the Air dragon kingdom. Thunder pursues and is wounded reclaiming Tamara.
This is the first volume in the series to deal with not only issues between the main couple but with a second dragon being a threat to the whole process established for the Bride program. Though the plots are always weak in these stories, this was a little more complex. More than just sex.

This is book #4 of the Bride Hunt series and it is great! Thunder is the King of the Air dragons and he is also the one in the last book who got is junked knocked up into his throat...lol. Tammy is not trying to fall in love with anybody but she is needing extra money to pay her bills. Her ex broke her trust and heart in all men so she really is only looking to stay the 2 weeks. Thunder falls instantly in love enough so he breaks the rules and goes after his woman when she is stolen. This book is hilarious as Tammy struggles with her lust for Thunder and he flirts with her at every turn. LOVED IT!

Just wow... This was a pretty good book but it seemed like the time in the cave took to long.... I am always like Charlene Hartnandy's books because they are hard to put down, but this one was easy to put down in the time in the cave... It took forever for them to actually come together sexually and that's after the cave too. Usually that happens faster and with interesting results.... That was the same lightening as a sexual mating stimulant sounds intense... I liked this book but almost have it 4 stars because of the endless time in the cave.

Usually I take breaks in between, but this one was really a page turner.
I like that it was a bit different from the rest. But the timeline is so screwed up. With that article of the dragons seen, in the vampire books they were thinking of gearing up against the dragons because of the article. Except for Zane, none of them, that includes brant believed in the dragons. And now that article is there while the vampires have ruby, the fire princess living with them with her daughter Tinder. Who tends to burn down every room she enters. The timeline is so off.

Lightning Dragon ( The Bride Hunt Book 4 )
I enjoyed all the shifter books, everyone of them is a stand alone book, but they are better read in the serious, you know some of the characters. I enjoyed this book, I felt the emotions of the shifter, Thunder and Tammy's side. OMG the twists, just when you think that everything is okay, POW, amazing , book kept me on my toes... couldn't put the book down so I was up all night reading it :-) now going to bed to get some sleep.... absolutely loved it

A must read
whats not love about dragons! they growl and say mine...alot! so glad Thunder got the girl, especially after the last one. Tammy, the one who took her ex crap and went jail. She rose above all the bad that happened and landed herself one of the best, good looking, sexy as hell dragons eva! if your looking for a fast paced read full of quick witty banter and lots of hot, panty melting moment's then this is the book for you! cant wait for book 5, we get to finally meet the earth dragons!

I really love Dragon Shifter stories, I really really love Charlene Hartnady's Dragon stories. Tammy had been framed by her ex, she struggled to find work. After yet another opportunity slipped away from her, she applied to the vampires, a few weeks and she'd have enough to get by for a little while. She finds herself taking part in the Dragon, Bride Hunt stay a few weeks, then leave no problem. Thunder is the Dragon who finds and claims her, no chance of her falling for him, too much of a player, like her ex, she won't fall for him, no way.

This was another enjoyable story. I think she is getting better as the series progresses. I really enjoyed Thunder and Tammy. I liked Thunder's humor and seeing him him transform form from the cocky jerk he was to someone more caring. It was interesting to see the female have to be so in charge and the care giver, but I enjoyed it. The situation made both of them trust each other fast and limited Thunder's cocky behavior.
It was nice to see Roxy and Blaze.
This actually did not end on a cliffhanger, so that was exciting.

Great series
A really good book Thunder the Air King is hot virile and sexy and desperate for a mate so he is yet again on the bride hunt. Tamara has joined in the hunt looking to earn money after being ruined by her ex lover she wasn't looking for a relationship. Thunder catches her and is immediately attracted to her but a crazy Dragon snatches her away. These two have to fight their way through a lot of difficulties to be together but love wins through. This is one hot sexy read.

Awesome book!!
This book is one of my favorites of the ‘Hunt’ Series, so far! There was LOTS of action, much more than just during The Hunt. I was glad to see Thunder get another female & to get to know more about who & how he really is. He deserved a second chance at love, esp after the female he had to deal with in the last book. I loved this entire book! Never a dull moment & a Happily Ever After! 😃

The Bride Hunt series is awesome!
Thunder and Tammy's story was different, in the fact that they didn't make it back to his layer first. It was still as intense and steamy as the first three!
Thunder is funny and sexy and it doesn't take long before Tammy is into him. As they struggle together to avoid a crazed dragon shifter looking to settle a score, they only grow closer together. Well developed story and characters.
HEA. Funny. Unpredictable. Action-packed. Sreamy.

Good read
This is Tammy and Thunder's story. Thunder knew he wanted the dark haired female. He didn't know that one of his warriors, Cloud was going to try and take her away from him. He found Tammy and Cloud in a cave and rescued her. Thunder was injured during the fight. Tammy was his only hope. She managed to cut the silver star out of him and then nursed him back to health.

Bride hunt
Although I've spotted the name Charlene Hartnady several times when I've looked for a book to read this is the first of her books I've actually read!! What a lot of books I've been missing! This series is one of the best I've read over the years I've had my kindle and I can't wait to catch up. It may take some time but I'm up to the task as long as Charlene keeps on writing!

The Thunder Rolls
Ok, so Thunder is the opposite of all the other kings. They’re all hard and broody and more stand-off types. Thunder is adorable. He’s funny and sweet and I love that he finally got his HEA! It was especially hilarious that he kept saying, “please don’t hit me in the balls”! I’m still high fiving Roxy for that one! And Tammy, well, I like her a ton too! I think they saved each other and I loved it!!

Beauty and 2 Beasts !
Tammy and Thunder’s story was a full on run for survival. Between a few fights with a silver bearing , unhinged dragon shifter and the laws governing the Bride Hunt, they almost don’t make it to their happily ever after. The storyline is spot on, the characters well written and full of sass and shifter ego. Perfect blend of forced proximity and fight for survival storytelling. 5✨’s
