Such a sweet short story

While, the main character of the story is a cat, he whole idea of the story is about familly and forgoveness.

No one should be alone on any given Holiday, no matrer what they said or done, that got them to spend Holidays all by themseleves.

This what we should learn from this first installment of The Christmas Cat series.

I so enjoyed this story, I think the message was how this cat that came into this character’s life and encouraged him to feel loved and to love and forgive those in his past. I really believe cats and dogs help people to feel loved and to reciprocate that love to them and others. A wonderful Christmas story of love!

The Christmas Cat by Peter Scottsdale is a heartwarming short story. When Fred finds a kitten on his doorstep on a cold Christmas Eve, he decides to take her in. The presence of the cat then reminds him that he does not need to be alone, especially at Christmas.
Peter Scottsdale made me have “the feels” with this story. Just because Fred rescued the cat from the cold, he has forever won a place in my heart. There was so much I liked about The Christmas Cat. I loved that there was no negativity in the story. When Fred went out in the cold to purchase items for the cat, I was expecting him to be robbed or something. I kept waiting for something bad to happen but it never came. When the cat was grooming Fred, it brought back memories of when my cat used to do the same to me. The pain of the grooming was worth it to see the cat happy. This little detail in the story made the story come alive for me. I also loved the ending to the story. It was absolutely perfect and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling.
Peter Scottsdale has written a great little story. The Christmas Cat would even melt the Grinch’s heart. You do not have to like Christmas to read this story. You do not even have to like cats. This is just a great story to read if you have or have ever had a heart. I hope to read more of Scottsdale’s work soon.

🖊 A lonely man expects to spend another Christmas alone, until a kitty cat enters his life. The plot is easy, the dialogue is believable, and 🔥the dénouement is pretty much what I generally expected, but it is charming. What I like best is the plot. I would read this again.

🔲 Excerpt of note:

🔸It was one day before the 25th, and they hadn’t called. But again they hadn’t called for the last two Christmases, either. So Fred sat, watching reruns of “Match Game” on the Game Show Network when he heard scratching. It sounded like an animal at the door. He ignored it. Somebody’s pet at the wrong door. Yet, it continued, annoying Fred as time and the scratching went on. A commercial came on and more scratching. Fred got up from his chair, deciding to scare the creature away. He left his basement suite and climbed the steps to the side door, his old knees hurting with every step.

This novelette opens with a bang! Page 1 gets your attention and immediately draws you into this touching story. Not just for cat-lovers, this book depicts the harsh reality of how human relationships can change the course of a life. But when the love of an animal . . . enter the cat! . . . and human kindness intervene, all is not lost. It's an enjoyable read, that guarantees to stay with you for days after you've read the final word. Well done, Peter Scottsdale!
