When investigative journalist Emily Klein gets too close to the truth about a devious plan by corrupt government authorities to remove undesirable humans from Earth and imprison them in penal colonies on the planet TraoX39, her meddling ends up landing her in the same alien prison system she sought to expose.Zak Steth has been adrift since disobeying orders to save the life of a friend got him branded a renegade and dismissed from the Galactic Legion, but when his latest job as a bounty hunter lands him face to face with a beautiful, feisty human female, he decides to take her as his own.But taming Emily won't be easy. She is willful, defiant, and in desperate need of a firm hand, and Zak will have to keep her safe in a world which is completely unfamiliar to her. He wastes no time in starting his new mate's training, spanking her bare bottom soundly whenever she disobeys and teaching her that her body is now his to enjoy in any way he pleases.Despite her deep shame at being utterly dominated and punished as often as Zak feels it necessary--sometimes in ways far more humiliating than a mere spanking--when the huge, handsome warrior claims her hard and thoroughly the pleasure is beyond anything Emily could have ever imagined. But with both humans and aliens still hunting them, can they outwit their enemies and escape TraoX39 before it is too late?Publisher's The Warrior's Prize is a stand-alone book set in the same world as The Alien's Captive and Bride of the Trogarians. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Ava Sinclair is a best-selling Amazon romance author who caters to readers who appreciate a plot driven book where the steamy sex complements the story, rather than overshadowing it.
A hopeless bibliophile, Ava avidly reads across multiple genres, and this is reflected in her varied body of work that spans contemporary, medieval fantasy, western, historical, time travel and sci-fi. She especially enjoys world-building and crafting interesting and relatable characters.
Because her books feature graphic sex and elements of power exchange, she gently cautions her readers to take her work for what it is – delightful, sexy escapism.
Ava lives in southern Virginia in a farmhouse tucked away on a wooded hilltop. The first thing she did after moving in was to rip out the dining room and turn it into a library/office. This is where she spends most of her days, writing and being ignored by her cats. When she’s not working, she enjoys roaming the woods around her house, or seeking the advice of Lucius, her Eagle Owl.
Loved this book! It combines all the elements of sci-fi, adventure, bdsm, D/s, love, and purpose of being, into one well written book!
Prison Colony 7 human escapee, Emily💋💔, is being pursued through the countryside of planet 🐺TraoX39, by Zak,🐺🍌🌋✋ a Traoian bounty hunter. I've read and loved Ava Sinclair's books. Her journey into Sci-Fi gets better and this one was exciting and better than the last one. It's the same world but more into the future with some familiar characters. The storyline was unique and the dialogue was witty, the banter between Emily and Zak ranged from humorous to serious. Emily is a strong young woman and Zak earns her trust and submission through love. The sex is hot and so is the spanking and other punishments. The insights into the characters are amazing and the action makes this a page turner. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy.
Simple smutty story. I wasn't reeled into the whole plot, it was very superficial and there was no development that would rank this any higher than se(x)ual entertainment. Honestly, I wasn't even attracted to the characters and their chemistry was a little off. It's like Tarzan, meet Jane. Okay now you guys can go fuck. LOL!
I literally cringed when the main hero just decided to take the heroine for a mate without even knowing her, except for the fact that she's an alleged murderer. Whuttt?
The only good part of the book was that the heroine's intelligent.
So, hard pass. While I enjoy smuts, I like em' with a bit of brain.
Emily was falsely imprisoned because of her work exposing corruption. She was sent to a penal colony on TraoX39 and managed to escape.
Zak is the bounty hunter who is tasked with hunting Emily down and bringing her back. When he finds Emily and discovers how firey and strong she is, he decides to keep her instead.
A nice, quick, sexy story. Nice adventure as well as a nice journey for Emily toward the meaning of submission.
This was easily my favorite of the three books about the world of TraoX39 and well on its way to 4.5 stars, right up until the very end which left a large part of the story with an extremely unsatisfying conclusion.
I loved both Emily and Zak, two people of principle and intelligence who were clearly good together. The relationship grew at a good rate (too fast for real life, but fine for a fictional romance), and there were none of the usual problems with overbearing dominants and doormat submissives so common in books of this sort. Although there are several delightfully uncomfortable scenes for our intrepid heroine before she comes to embrace her situation, she is never a doormat. The action was great, the world building exciting and well balanced with the romance. Although there are references to events and characters in The Alien's Captive and Bride of the Trogarians, it is not necessary to have read those books in order to enjoy this one. In fact, this book appears to take place far in the future from the prior two.
There are several good supporting characters, and some really awful (in a good way!) evil ones. My complaint is with the resolution, or, more accurately, lack of resolution, regarding Congressman Gerard Bateman. To be perfectly fair, I can infer what happened to him from the wrap up at the end, but he fully deserved a comeuppance equally as satisfying as that given to Warlyn. He is chasing after our heroine with very nasty plans for her, and then... nothing. We aren't given any specific information about Bateman after our protagonists hear he's looking for them on TraoX39. It's as if the author forgot she'd started that story thread at all, and I found it a real let down. Sad... especially since this was otherwise such a well done story.
I received a copy from the author and voluntarily review this book.
I love this author. Her books tell an entertaining story with a side of spanking and sex. The stories would actually work well without the sex (but where is the fun in that?). This story is set on the same world as The Alien's Captive and Bride of the Trogarians but set farther into the future (way after Augustus Bron and his reforms). It is definitely a stand alone as (except for the names of the Planet and the inhabitants) there are only passing mentions of Bron and the Odh massacre. The characters and the storytelling really bring this story to life and make it a very enjoyable read. Even though it is quick to read, the author gives us a total story and an epilogue (which is in my opinion what really completes these stories) that nicely concludes the storyline but leaves it open enough to continue should the author wish to revisit this world. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
This was a well written story. Emily and Zak are both strong likeable characters, and come together to make a very hot couple. The world building in this one is very thorough with multiple planets and multiple species and cultures coming together to round out the story. It can be read as a standalone though the author does have a couple of other books that take place on the same planet.
I received an ARC of this book from Stormy Night Publications.
A well written thought out fun read, Miss Sinclair sure knows how to build a world that will capture your attention and then some.
I enjoyed the story even though not one of my most favourite as I found I couldn't connect with Zak for some reason I don't know if I was having an off day or if it's just one of them things. I did like Emily she sure is a strong woman. :)
One hot romance! The best part of this story was the heroine who was as tough as nails. She definitely held her own in a very scary world. I also loved that no matter the awful fate thrown at her, her sense of fairness, dignity, and selflessness still survives.
