I think I found my new favorite book! Camfield's writes eloquently and the book is thoughtful, deep, and challenging. Not many books hit the mark on all of these criteria. Camfield beautifully describes the tension we all must face as limited, broken people who dream big dreams. Here's two short excerpts:

"How to embrace the tension, the endless possibilities of who we long to become ensconced between dust and eternity while still experiencing the beauty of both. . . ?"

"For the most beautiful acts of grace appear when the offender feels the gravitas of underserving mercy, when a tender spirit tugs the satin of white gloves to the crooks of their elbow and serves them tea from a silver cup."

This book is bound to become a classic. (I received a copy of the book from the publisher. It did not in any way influence my opinion of this book!)

This was so good for my soul. Suanne Camfield has a beautiful, poetic writing style that felt like I was spending hours in a coffee shop with a best friend. She bravely shares her own journey through an open and vulnerable lens. I found her writing refreshing and relatable and I was oh-so-willing to join her and explore how God is leading me towards my own dreams too.

A wonderful book about the struggle of maintaining one's hopes and dreams. Christian author Suanne Camfield has brought to life her honest personal battle with writing, balancing family, and quelling her inner demons wanting to sabotage her dreams. An inspiration book that feels like a real person wrote it.

I am ever so grateful for this book! So many of Suanne's words have been underlined and taken to heart.
I am currently in the midst of trying to determine what my dreams even are, and this book has been such a helpful tool for me to start asking the right kinds of questions, that it's more about *becoming* than about what I'm doing.

Thank you to everyone and everything that has brought this book into my hands. I'm so thankful to have read it. It has done my soul good.

I just love when I read a book and I immediately identify with the main character. In this case, the author. From the first page I felt the urge to flip to the last, to find out if she had the courage, the strength, the ability to follow her dreams.

Although I was hoping Suanne would share her writer’s journey specifically, her story will resonate with anyone who is nurturing a creative passion. She reveals many thoughts with honesty and insight, which makes it all that more personable and applicable.

I was voluntarily reviewing a copy of The Sound of A Million Dreams through the publisher and Netgalley:

The Sound of A Million Dreams explores one life, and one woman's Dreams. This book is the story of a dreamer, a believer and a writer.

The Sound of A Million Dreams is a story of faith, of Dreams, of passions and hopes. It's a story of discovering your calling in life, and going for it.

I give The Sound of A Million Dreams five out of five stars.

Happy Reading.

I once took part in an exercise where we were asked to write a list of 100 dreams in our life. We were supposed to write as many as we could in 15 minutes. At the end of that time, surrounded by people who had filled a page, I had written approximately 10 dreams, and some of them were quite a stretch. I'm not much of a dreamer. But I've come to realize over the years that that's because, at least in part, I'm afraid of dreaming and never achieving my dreams. And possibly because achieving dreams often takes hard work and self-examination, neither of which I'm known for. It's safer to not dream at all than to risk dreaming and falling short.

But through this book, The Sound of a Million Dreams, the author eloquently walked me on a journey of realizing that the purpose of the dreams God places on my heart are less about the end result of those dreams as they are about the journey of becoming who he has called me to be in the process of working towards those dreams.

While reading this book I felt like I was sitting down with a good friend over coffee as she told me her story. But not for the sole purpose of knowing her story. As she shared her story, her journey, I was inspired to find my own dreams, to listen for the stirring God has placed in my life, and to enjoy the journey of becoming.

Even if you're not a dreamer, I encourage you to read this book. Grab a cup of coffee and let Suanne walk you through her story, so you can find a little more of your own story.
