Hypnoanalytic Techniques, Vol. II, The Practice of Clinical Hypnosis is directed to psychoanalysts and other dynamically-oriented therapists who are already familiar with clinical hypnosis, its induction and use in suggestive approaches to treatment. Hypnoanalysis is presented in the context of psychoanalysis and object-relation theory. It details many projective techniques and others for hypnotically dealing with dreams and art productions. Complex hypnoanalytic techniques are described for treating a wide variety of disorders including amnesia and multiple personality. A chapter is devoted to Ego-State Theory and Therapy and another to Forensic Hypnosis, which includes its indications, contraindications and problem when testifying in court.
it's hard to give a review for this book given its nature. I will say that while it is a dense book, it is a very interesting read on how to use hypnosis to treat mental health disorders such as DID, Schizophrenia, etc. There are transcripts which are helpful. I feel like this might be a book for me to come back to in the future as my current field of practice does not allow me to see these patients.
