Rate this book
500 years before the story of Saiyuki, a heretic child with golden eyes is brought into Heaven. He is given into the reluctant care of a minor deity named Konzen, the nephew of the Merciful Goddess Kanzeon Bosatsu. Konzen eventually gives the child the name "Goku". Goku becomes friends with two other minor gods, Marshal Tenpou and General Kenren of the Western Army of Heaven. He also meets a strange little boy who seems to be his own age, the War Prince Nataku. Although Goku is happy in his new home, Heaven is not kind to heretics. There are those who would use Nataku and Goku as tools in an attempt to seize the throne of Heaven, and Konzen, Tenpou, and Kenren may not be able to save them.

Konzen Daijou is a gloomy god who damn bored of his life in heaven. Too bad death doesn't exist there. But his life bound to change when a wild animal with golden eyes brought in and put under his care by the order of . Their first meeting was so unforgettable. The kid took a liking to Konzen's blonde hair and suddenly grab it while saying, "You're shining like the sun." and my heart goes doki, doki :p

The kid Konzen took is a cheerful brat and loves to play around. While exploring the castle, he met Nataku, a kid same age as his. And suddenly he really want to have a name so he can introduce himself to his new friend. He asked Konzen to give him a name, and in a spur of moment Konzen named him Goku. Go mean a person who can apprehend and ku mean a thing that cannot be seen by the eyes.

Goku then getting another friend like the rambunctious general, Kenren, and a military otaku and a bookish Tenpou aka Ten-chan.

This is the origin story of Goku, dubbed as the "Heretic". He is being taken care of Konzen, Bosatsu's nephew, which has the same personality and appearance as Genjyo Sanzo. The other characters are Tenpou and Kenren, which looked like Cho Hakkai and Sha Gojyo respectively. I think Goku was destined to be with the likes of the trio.
