See No Evil #2

**Part 2**

Bad boys have never been my thing.

I’ve seen firsthand the kind of devastation they can cause. That’s why I go for safe.
Predictable.
Guys who will take whatever I’m willing to give.
That way, I always have the upper hand, ensuring that my heart remains unscathed.

There is only one problem.
None of those men have ever made my heart beat faster, or made me feel out of control.
That is, until him.

I live by one rule. Treat others the same way they treat me. So, if Sylar treats me as though I’m his world, does it matter that technically he is not a good man? He’s good to me. He’s good for me.
At least that’s what I’m gambling on.
With the one thing I swore I’d never risk.
My heart.

3.5 to 4*

So after the cliffhanger of the previous book I just couldn't start this fast enough and again I enjoyed it.
It's a softer gentler read than I originally expected.
The book opens with a chapter from Sylar's POV and it picks up when they're getting ready for the girls coming round. We find out (as if we didn't already know) what pulled them away and also what brings them back.
Again this is an enjoyable often humorous read, I liked not only Sylar and Bree but Christina, Spencer, Sebastian, Charlie and Elijah and a special mention has to go out to Fred.
When the girls decide they want to do some boyfriend stalking for the day they rope in a local taxi driver Fred who turns up wearing head to toe camouflage and is fully set for an interesting day.
Problems?
Not really but I've never been a fan of books being split and I couldn't really see why this was two books instead of one.

In the eagerly anticipated sequel, the audio gracefully fills in the gaps, unraveling the enigma behind the character's sudden vanishing act. With a well-crafted narrative, the story delves into the character's past, illuminating the complexities of family relationships and painting a nuanced picture of each member's moral compass. The unveiling of secrets and unfolding of events keeps listeners engaged, offering a richer understanding of the characters' motivations. As the plot advances, the pieces fall into place, leading to a heartwarming resolution that leaves listeners with a sense of contentment. This second part successfully ties up loose ends, providing closure and delivering the satisfying conclusion that fans of the audio were eagerly awaiting.

(Sylar & Brielle): TRIGGERS: murder, blackmail, assault. The book starts off in Sylar 's POV. Quickly we learn what happened that night that Sylar and Spencer disappeared. Then there's a switch back over to Brielle, who is now three months pregnant. When the guys return with their baby brother in tow is when all hell breaks loose. Brielle must decide whether to forgive Sylar for leaving. So okay. I completely love Sylar. He's so adorably sweet but Brielle, OMG, she was so annoying. With this second book, she's learning more about Sylar's past and being very judgmental about it. It was hard to continue listening to her whining. By the end it turned out to be an ok book. I just wish it was all one book instead of two separate books.

It really feels like Chantal Fernando has gotten bored with writing. All of the books I've read recently have been great ideas that need to be filled out more. I didn't hate this book but it was disappointing since it had enough in it to hook me but not enough to be good. It was too interesting a premise to be left as a novella but length made it too shallow to be a novel. It just seemed like a wasted opportunity- why put the work in and not flesh it out into something substantial?

This book was more ridiculous than the last with murder, mayhem, and moody characters galore! Seriously, why do you even both getting into a big huff about not being told the full truth in regards to some shady past, but aren't really bothered when a man gets murdered. FMC is very wishy-washy. Girl, sh1t or get off the pot. Either you stand by your man or you walk way. Stop hmm-ing and haa-ing, just do something

I enjoyed the second part, but not as much as the first one. There werd some things that were glossed over that I wish was more explained. The epilogue was the best part!!! I can't help but wonder if any of the other characters will be getting their own book...

2.5⭐️ rounded down… it’s better than part 1, but not by much… there is a murder and hiding a body and her coming to terms with the fact he was a hitman, and him finding out he’s gonna be a dad… and then baby is born in the epilogue…

Very rushed, felt like a summary of a more indepth story. Had potential to be good

Listen. This was a quick audio book. It was ok. But it would've gotten 4 stars had the narrator not gone back & forth between pronouncing the Sylar like Tyler & Sy Lar like he is a robot.

Very dull and boring

These books had potential but seemed rushed, had the bones for a great story line but missed it by a mile. Found myself skimming pages constantly.

Overall I enjoyed this duo. I painted the whole 4/5 hours of listening to this and admittedly it made the time go by fast, but I don't think I would have managed this duo if I'd been reading as the "too fast" pacing isn't my thing. It's not the best work from Chantal Fernando but it was still a good read.

Part 2

Great follow up to part one. I loved it. I do feel it was a bit rushed in areas that I would have liked explored more but still a great story about love and redemption.

Loved it

Loved it. The persons past is not who they are now. That is the best rule for this book. Great!
