A Castle Mountain Lodge is a great series! Perfect for a winter read cozied up next to the fire. Each story drew me in and made me want to keep turning the page. I especially loved Morgan and Bo in Hidden Gifts! Can’t wait to read more in this series!

This collection of clean contemporary romances set at Castle Mountain Lodge was lighthearted entertainment. The stories shared common characters but were each a standalone story (except one short story that was a continuation of one of the novels). Typos and wrong words distracted from the story.

#1 Unexpected Gifts
She had had a year from hell. Losing her baby, and her boyfriend running away from the fact, and boy leaving her to cope on her own.
Christmas just wasn't going to be the happy time she had dreamed off. She needed to escape, so a couple of days at castle Mountains Lodge was just what she needed.
He was coming home to Canada after 5 years in the tropics and boy was he looking forward to a proper snow covered Christmas, with all the trimmings.
Only one catch, there was a muddle up with the bookings and there were two of them and only one villa and the roads had just closed.

#2 Hidden Gifts
He had been a player, enjoying the freedom of being young and single. Until, one of his deeds came back to bite him, with a four year old, motherless child. Now he was a sole parent with the responsibility of someone else's life to worry about. He really didn't know where to start.
She had bad news, news which had shattered her childhood dreams. She was needing a new space and a different job, but fate stepped in.

#2.5 Unexpected Endings

Short but dramatic, won't spoil the writer's work, but ties off the original episode "Unexpected Gifts".

#3 Mistaken Gifts

A complicated romance, that starts off more as adversaries, but ends up with happy feelings.
I don't want to give the tale away, but we have meet both Jeff, Bo's horse friend and Eva, Andi's business partner, in "Party Hearty".

I enjoyed the first story of Colin and Andi - quick easy read. The second one with Melanie and Bo was not quite as good. I don't think the author built up the growing relationship between them, but the Ella effect humanized Bo. The story about EVA and Jeff was too rushed, not enough positive interaction to lead to the "Happy Ever After" ending. The storyline was predictable and the characters were "pushed" together with little chemistry . I have already purchased the remaining books in series because I am a sucker for following a group of people in literature. Hoping there is some resemblance to the Colin Andi story with a bit of a twist. I will see.

Elena Aiken certainly gives you a delightful read. I enjoyed books 1- 4 and am just starting 5-8.
You feel you can visualize each of her lead characters, you begin to feel each step they take in finding a secure partner. My only regret is she doesn't add a epilogue to tell you if the romance lasts into the future though she does drop hints in subsequent books. Sometimes I feel she loses something in not
following up or continuing the story. Perhaps I just want more so the story she's telling so delightfully doesn't end.

Excellent

The Castle Mountain Lodge Collection: Books 1-4 are a delight to read. Elena Aitken writes with a great deal of imagination. I could feel the cold, of the snow, smell the summer flowers, feel the frigid water at the falls, & smell the earthy smells from the stables. All in all one of the best collection of stories I've read in a while. Can't wait to read more of her books!

I can't find the edition I read. It's called Mountain Men of Castle Lodge - Box Set #1. Any way, I enjoyed the series but found editing problems distracting. Like the publishing process was rushed. I like the characters but found the plots weak. Maybe I'm too old. Maybe this is just for 20-somethings. Anyway I enjoyed enough to go through the three books. The 2.5 story is not included in this box set.

I don't know why I read 3 book sets anymore. The first one is pretty good, the 2nd is meh, and the 3rd is usually a throwaway. In this case the first one was too short, insta-love, and not nearly enough to be more than a HFN (although book 3 is the completion of the story). Book 2 was a bit better, not as insta-love, and there was definitely more chemistry and story, but it was still just meh.

This is the first 4 books in the series 1, 2, 2.5, and 3. We meet Andi and Colin, Bo and Morgan, and Eva and Jeff. This series takes place and a lodge in the woods. The characters are wonderful and go through a whole host of things. They find love and happiness. Some work at the lodge and others just visit it. I really enjoyed reading these. I look forward to reading more books in the series. Great job Elena.

Simply sweet romance

I truly enjoyed the romance and drama of this collection. The writing is smooth and easy to get lost into. Personally I'm one of those people who hates to sleep anywhere other than home, but if Castle Mountain Lodge actually existed I think I'd like to take a vacation there and get lost in it's magic.
Happy reading : )

A delightful quick read. I found these 4 books very enjoyable. The characters were fun while each still had their issues to overcome. The story about Bo and his daughter Ella was particularly touching and the way each of the characters made appearances in all the books is a favourite thing with me and why I love series books.

I enjoyed the setting of the stories and the balance of characters. I would recommend these books to any romance reader who enjoys light comedy mixed with a love story.

I am a fan of any light romance reading that is set in the mountains. The lodge would be a place I could visit. The characters were believable and intriguing.

Stand alones in a series

This is my favorite kind of series: a unique and believable world populated by folks I wish I had in my own life who reappear like my old friends. Yet the stories stand alone, without cheap teasers designed to make you need the others in the series. Excellent.

an ok read

A good clean set of stories. The usual style of book wherein girl or boy seeking solitude or broken hearted etc. finding each other, then have a hiccup in their relationship and get back together for that happily ever after. Nothing too much to any of these stories really just fluff. And although they are clean they are not moral.

Sweet Romance

3 strong independent women meet 3 handsome, honest, and loyal men while working at the mountain lodge. Winter themed that includes winter outdoorsy activities. No cheating or cliffhangers and all end on a happy note and one gets the beginning of a happy ever after. Enjoy 🤓

Terrific

Thus is a great collection of stories about couples that meet and fall in love at this wonderful lodge, some work there, some came as guest. But each brings all the characters together from book one.

Love is in the air

And these four stories are full of love. The basic plots are the same, boy meets girl, they fall in love, have problems, get back together and have a happily ever after. The details are different and make each story fun.

A woodsy wedding

I enjoyed this book in the series. It keeps the story flowing. Women laying claim where they have none is exactly what happens in real life. Misunderstanding and miscommunication abounds. I saw my real friends in the characters of this story. ☺

I really enjoyed this series.
Each story was sweet and heartwarming! I loved that the characters from the previous stories had minor roles in the ones following so you could "catch up" and see how things are progressing.

This is a sweet book. I had some issues with book two in that I struggled to believe Social Services would leave a child with a parent with no experience nor a stable home. However, this aside, these are sweet HEA stories of people falling in love at first sight.

I loved the way the writer used a lodge in the mountains. The mountains are beautiful in any season and the writer did a great job of doing this. The characters were wonderful. Am now on the next book 4-6.

Romance

Light, easy romances set in the mountains. Unsure characters who aren't quite trusting that love has found them. A small glitch with the bonus story... just over a year , but later in the story not quite a year...
