Well color me surprised! I wasn't in the mood for anything too deep tonight, so I thought I would give this short little read a try. I am really glad that I did.

Short, sweet and very hot, this fast paced read made me smile.

Colt and Nadine were inevitable. He had know her literally her while life because he was her dad's best friend. Once she was older, he started to have feelings for her that he tried to fight. She had loved him for years but kept it to herself. Now, stranded at her parents during a snow storm, the truth comes out. A weekend of hot, steamy sex leaves Nadine wanting Colt even more.

Cole was such a hottie. He went out of his way to take care of Nadine, making sure she was taken care of. Months of sneaking around came to a screeching halt when Nadine's parents come to surprise her for Christmas.

This was very short and great for a filler in between longer reads or when you don't have a lot of time. The author has several books out and they each have an extremely similar theme, but I might give them a go.

Older man/younger woman trope. Colt is 19 years older than Nadine and also her fathers best friend. This was a short but really hot read. I happen to be a huge fan of the older man stories but a lot of the time they are written immaturely. That is not the case with this one. This is a new author to me and one I'll be looking forward to reading more of.

I liked it!

I seem to be really into these older man younger woman / my dad's best friend trope lately. It's my jam - at least for the moment. I liked this one and I thought the characters were written pretty well for being a short story. Sylvia Fox is my new favorite author!

There are pictures of him and my dad in their camo, looking young and serious during their first year in the Marines. Pictures of all of us on their first leave, me just a tiny little bundle in my mom’s arms.

So he saw her grow up from an infant and he was married before.
Normally I can do one if they haven't been married but this is not the case so I tried and....

Needing a smutty older man/ younger woman read? I have been making my way through Sylvia Fox's titles and Drill Me; Sergeant is the next one for me to complete. Like her previous books, this is a fast read. The book starts off with Nadine heading home for Thanksgiving, and once she arrives, there is a snowstorm which forces her parents to stay at her grandparent's house. We read as Nadine looks at the family pictures and we learn about her attraction to her father's best friend and military buddy Colt. Colt has known Nadine since she was a baby but as they have both gotten older, there is an undeniable chemistry. What will happen when the pair end up being the only ones home while everyone else is stranded with the snowstorm? A sex fuelled weekend and we discover that Colt has a dominant side in the bedroom. All goes well with their romantic tryst until Nadine ends up pregnant. What will Nadine's parent's reaction be when they discover their best friend just knocked up their daughter? Something that I did like about this one was that the mother was supportive of the relationship and gave this great piece of advice - “Love is a funny thing,” she says. “It doesn’t see age or color. It doesn’t see right or wrong. It doesn’t see time or space. It just… is.” If you are looking for another Older Man/Younger Woman, read with a military background then check out "Drill Me, Sergeant" by Sylvia Fox.

One would think I was over feeling embarrassed over reading eroticas.
I freaking read it on my phone reader app! Who would know anyway?
But that doesn't stop the discomfort.
I reasoned, if I can read full fledged novels and read Ruby Dixon and Alexa Riley, I shouldn't be having these feelings.
Again, no help.
After a little bit of debating with my own head, I conclude, this book had nothing of substance. The huge age difference theme is overdone specially because the heroine has known the hero all her life. Even if she's 21 now, it doesn't take away from the fact that both of them have been secretly longing for each other for quite a few years.

Needless to say, nausea was recurring feeling.

Just my opinion. I am sure there are people who dig this kind of storylines too. And I am not shaming anyone. It's just, I am more accommodating usually, so when something makes me this uncomfortable, I take it seriously.

The chemistry between Nadine & Colt is palpabe and when they take the next step it is better than either of them could have ever hoped for. They decide to keep their relationship a secret and continue seeing each other when Nadine returns to college. The sex is all comsuming and their love for each other makes it all that more powerful. But what will her Father think about her and his best friend being in a relationship?

Plot wasn't unique compared to similar ones and boring. There was no conflict and when poop finally hit the fan it was kind of a stupid reaction for some characters. I almost appreciate a parent's reaction, like in Alexa Riley's Coach, being accepting and "oh thank God you're with _____! He's such a good man" when there's a large age difference. This short story was just dumb all around and I didn't like it.

Nadine is looking forward to Thanksgiving with her family, but there's only so much she can take of the constant nitpicking. Knowing she'll have the house to herself the night before, as her parents got snowed in at her grandparents' house, is a great reward for braving the snowstorm to get home from college. She's also excited to see Colt, her Dad's best friend. He's been a part of their family since she was a baby, but for the last few years, Nadine can't help but look at him as a man. As she's fantasizing about what she'd like the two of them to do together, she's interrupted by someone walking in the door...the man of her naughtiest dreams.

Colt is sooo damn hot, caring and sweet under that hard ass exterior. So happy with this book!

This book is the first book of Sylvia’s that I have read and it won’t be the last! I really enjoyed this taboo tale. Drill me sergeant is a short holiday read, perfect for snuggling on the sofa with. I loved this book!

Heading home for thanksgiving, Nadine barely makes it without crashing her car. Arriving to an empty house she soon finds out that her parents won’t make it back from picking her grandparents up until the next day thanks to the icy roads. When Colt, her fathers best friend turns up it isn’t long until drinks are flowing and they’re admitting their desires for one another. After a hot and steamy night, an awkward family thanksgiving Nadine and Colt head their separate ways. Back at college Colt and Nadine talk daily and Colt soon gets Nadine away from her disgusting roommate. When Nadine gets the shock of her life, finding out she’s pregnant Colt is ecstatic. But how will Nadine’s parents react to the news of their secret relationship and the news of her pregnancy.

I really enjoyed this book but I had a few reservations about it.
I didn't mind the topic—dad's best friend and younger woman—was the same as in the other Sylvia Fox's book I've read.
What I didn't like was the fact there were also very similar passages in the story. Like, heroine looking at loads of pictures with her parent and the hero and stating she wanted him since she was fifteen, or so understanding parent(s) who just want their daughter to be happy... I mean, it would be nice if the story had a different spin to it and distinguish itself from the other book (or possibly books, I don't know yet) so when someone describes you the plot, you wouldn't have to say, "Oh yeah, I've read exactly the same thing in a different book. And look, it's the same author!"

I absolutely loved this book!!! Colt and Nadine were super hot together. I love a good taboo romance and this one didn't disappoint at all!! Nadine has always wanted Colt and during a thanksgiving snowstorm she gets her wish. This was a fun, hot & quick read that I would recommend to anyone.

Well rounded romantic novella.

Girl wants guy. Guy wants girl. They're 19 years apart and unsure if or how they could make that work.
I appreciated how they were both adults and Nadine had a chance to go to college and do some living and growing up before she and Colt found themselves starting something more.
The sex scenes were spicy and the romance was sweet.

Perfect recipe for quick and dirty!

Yesss! Tasty love story for sure! Awesome quick and dirty without missing that love story! I love a dominant older man who knows what to do with his woman. Loved this book!
