Let Him Go

Rate this book
Abandoned by her mother. Neglected by her father. Forced to leave behind the only friend she ever had. Learned at a young age, these harsh lessons in love had been enough to guarantee that Lacey Chase would never allow herself to get close to anyone ever again—until him. Zane was the definition of everything that she didn’t want or need and yet she couldn’t get him out of her mind. But before she could once more become the victim of her own foolish heart, she would get as far away from him as possible...despite the physical attraction that had turned her brain and body into sworn enemies.

Forsaken by God Himself. Avoided by his own siblings. Required to live without actually living. An abomination let loose upon mankind, Zane Nikolas had accepted his destiny to endure an existence without knowing the pleasures reserved for humans—until her. Lacey was supposed to represent everything that he couldn’t have or enjoy and yet he was now partaking in the impossible. But before he could truly experience this forbidden new world, he would have to convince her to let him in...despite the knowledge that doing so could destroy them both.

I still could not stop reading. The writing is still mediocre, but I have to know how it ends. I hope book 3 comes out soon because there are a lot of unanswered questions!

I don't buy how quickly Clint changed his ways because Lacey threatened him.
Lacey still has that disgusting addiction to BK.

Some scenes were weird and gross.

I enjoyed the story and want to know how everything ends. There is no news of book 3, so I hope it comes out soon before I forget a lot of the story.

Even though I hated the three years in between books one and two I loved the end result. The second installment continues where the first left off so I recommend reading "Let Him In" before "Let Him Go" to avoid confusion. The main characters are growing, albeit slowly and reluctantly (especially Lacey); all are resisting change, which I applaud because it is realistic behavior (although occasionally frustrating). I would have liked more of a backstory regarding the fallen angel-human race. There are still unanswered questions, mainly "What exactly happened to Amelia?" I assume this will be revealed in book three, which I hope doesn't involve another lengthy wait. Overall, I enjoy the author's style of writing and will continue to read her works.

I must admit I read book 2 first and I try not to do that but it intrigued me.I was glad I did. I needed a hit-em-where-it-counts book.I thought that Lacey was very rude to her father(regardless of the past things)as he was trying to make things up to her.And...she was acting like a spoiled brat. When Zane was trying to be too rough I thought he should calm down some, but he was trying to fix things too.Sammy was trying to do things right but in the end knew he had made a big mistake.Secrets are still there that need to be discovered and Lacey won't be very happy about one of them, but she might be in too deep when that happens. With all three of them together we will see what happens and who gets the last word.
