Nora Leslie’s twenty-year existence revolved around one thing—survival. A split second decision under a hail of gunfire saves the lives of her students and alters her own forever.
When she wakes in the hospital, Nora finds herself a suspect in the worst tragedy to ever strike her small college town. Thrust into the spotlight as the villain, instead of the hero, she is in desperate need of allies
A chance meeting introduces her to Ryan Valore, a young law student searching to outrun the guilt of his past. With the world turned against her, Nora accepts his aid, and the help of his roommates, a group of guys with pasts as dark as her own. For them, Nora is everything they never believed they deserved.
Ripley Proserpina spends her days huddled near a fire in the frozen northern wilds of Vermont. She lives with her family, two magnificent cats, and one dog who aspires to cat-hood.
Nora helps save the students she's subing for, but it all goes wrong after she gets shot then accused of helping the shooter. The problem is she had nothing to do with it, and she really doesn't remember much from the shooting either.
But, when Ryan helps her with her case and gives her place to live with him and his roommates, he opens a whole new world for her. One, where she seems to be falling for more than one guy, and life ends up knocking her down a little more.
This book starts off really great and I really enjoyed Nora and her relationships with all the guys. I thought this book had a great story, and very enjoyable characters.
The only downside in my opinion was towards the end when Nora does something totally stupid, and I'm scared what that could mean for the next book.
It had such a promising start. A 4-star start, and it devolved into a 2-star rating. The blurb is kind of misleading, since you'll think there is a plot and it's about proving the MC's innocence. In reality that story was nothing more than a few bylines. Now that I think of it, I can't actually say what filled up all those pages; all the guys taking turns fawning over her?
I read this because it was a reverse harem, but this was not very well executed. The guys were too similar in their approach to her and we didn't really learn much about them. To make it worse they were all slinging around the l-word after less than a week. No, thanks.
I had a lot of issues with this book. First they made Honora sound like an idiot who couldn't take care of herself at all. Little bits of information kept being leaked into the book about Nora but she never knew about anything. Didn't she ever look at the news?? There was also instant love for 5 guys and she just Willy nilly was kissing them all without any thought. She is a 20 year old who grew up in and out of foster care shouldn't she be more jaded and careful. She said she didn't trust easily but she did. The book had a good storyline but the execution wasn't there for me.
This was my first time in dipping into a novel by this author. The discovery of one new is exciting because there is that promise of hope that this one too will take you away. It starts out with much anticipation with a girl named Nora opening up the scene with not soon on the tails is much drama in high octane. Unexpected too is what unrolls next with her having a bit of a hero to her rescue-Ryan. You will also meet some other characters that will also be important as Ryan but each a flavor all their own. This was a different story and a bit odd but I found myself more and more drawn in not letting go because of the ensnaring of the writing with the characters doing the emotional pull. You will see injustice up close and personal but also see one important turn around that warmed my toes. I will also note that this will be just the beginning of this magical ride this author takes you on.
If you are a fan of reverse harem or just romance in general, then you need to read this book! It was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t put it down! Nora’s story is so captivating and so well written. It’s heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I first came across Nora and her boys in the Falling for Them anthology and this book made me love them even more. It was really great getting to see how the story began. My heart was pounding in anticipation from the very first page. It was really easy for me to put myself in Nora’s shoes and to feel everything that she was feeling. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and to see where the story goes!
*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
okay, so this book is really a 3 star book, but the extra 0.5 star is just cause of diversity- talk about a brewing pot.. all i can say is Nina got the best of 5 worlds.. she got a big tall black dude, a blue haired Korean dude (he has some Canadian blood in there too), a french dude (they have names for them but i'm forgetting them), and a white dude with golden hair (not blonde, i said golden!) and there is Ryan, i dont even know what he is...
the actual plot was not a winner for me. i dont know, something was just missing. i like that the author ensured that at least one person, and that was Appollo, went ballistic about a sharing arrangement (cause for the life of me, i would be surprised if he had jumped onto that immediately). however, nevertheless... with RH i find that the one woman and one man arrangement works easily but with this one... it was just not working. mind you, this is not a fantasy or magic world, so in real life, how implementable would it be for 5 friends to agree to date one girl..??? and in real life, a girl staying with 5 males who are friends (with each other), and kissing on all of them within a space of less than a week....? anybody hear the slut alarms go off?????
anyhow, it was okay... thumbs up for the variety of dee's...
I've actually read this before under the original release a couple of years ago. It's still a pretty relevant story since it deals with a school shooting, but from a different perspective. I really feel for Nora and what she goes through. It sucks to be accused of being involved in something so horrid when you have nothing to do with it. Nora's whole life falls apart as a result and if Ryan hadn't been there for her, who knows what would have happened to her.
Ryan, Apollo, Matisse, Cai and Seok take good care of Nora, but Seok treats Nora pretty badly for quite a while before he allows himself to come around. I disliked him for quite a while until he explained himself, though I still think he needs to grovel. At least all of the guys come to a consensus regarding their feelings and discuss it with Nora. I'm looking forward to all of them being happy. They have a ways to go because the guys each have their own issues and because Nora's reputation is still trashed thanks to the police and reporters. I hope that gets cleared up as well.
I have gotten very into reading Reverse Harem novels lately. It's super hard to find decent ones that don't just read like fan fiction. This series is really good though. Both the characters and the story are fully fleshed out and well written. I'm enjoying becoming invested in this world and pleased that I discovered this author.
Finding Honor is the first book in The Searchers series, and is the first book by Ripley Proserpina that I have read. Although I have read lots of ménage and multi-partner stories, this is also the first story where it was all brand new. Nora has no idea that it is possible to be with more than one person at a time, without chaos commencing. As for the "boys", having one woman between them isn't something they had thought about either, and they don't all find it easy. However, this was something that only happened towards the end of the book, so you have the whole book trying to figure out just why Nora was a "person of interest" and what was with the vendetta against her.
Throughout the story, you get snippets of the history regarding all the characters, but not the full thing. This is part of a series, so please don't expect to have all the answers by the time you finish this book. There is a study going on that Nora is involved in that I'm sure will get more air time. Also, the girl that Nora meets towards the end of the book.
On the whole, I enjoyed this story with the information given. The one thing I would say is that although Apollo and Ryan like Nora from the beginning, the others don't (or at least don't appear to). They go from being friends, to being unable to keep their hands off Nora, especially Seok. I'm not sure if it's her perfume, or what, but there you go!!!
Very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this is the start of a series. With plenty of questions waiting to be answered, this series has the potential to become a first-class reverse harem series. Definitely recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *
Well, that was different! And it's not like I can tell you how different without a massive spoiler!
I've never read this author's work before. The story was a bit dark and gloomy, with rays of sun coming through. The writing was heart felt with a touch of 'lived this life' to it.
Nora is such a troubled soul, with a sad upbringing and lonely existence. The feelings I had reading about these events took my breath away with anxiety. I felt totally defeated and so devastated for her. Nora meeting Ryan was a ray of sunshine she hadn't realised it would be.
The relationship between Ryan and his housemates (Seok, Apollo, Cai, and Matisse) is a really strong bond. They all have different nationalities and personalities but have a common denominator in their similar background stories, and therefore they complement each other. It's an unusual situation, and the boys feel protective towards Nora (lucky girl). I loved each character and felt that I knew them all by their descriptions. They are empathetic and very devoted to each other as friends and housemates. I'd love to have a group of friends like this. They make the thought of house sharing seem bearable.
This is a slow boil story that builds up into a compelling love story. The plot is gripping, and I am eager to follow up with the characters' lives.
Finding Honor is book 1 in a new reverse harem series. It's a well written book with great characters that makes you want to read more.
Nora is a product of the foster system. As a substitute teacher during a school shooting where she should have been celebrated as a hero, instead she is named as a suspected accomplice. Ryan, a legal aid intern, is assigned to her case. He offers her a place to stay when she is released from the hospital with him and his four roommates. Honor struggles with her injuries, being seen as guilty in public opinion for a role in the shooting, and her growing desire and love for the five new guys in her life.
This is a well thought out book with developed characters, conflicts, and multiple layers. There is such diversity and depth. I look forward to the next installment. I can't wait to see how the relationships develop with such contrasting characters.
I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading the next one. Each love interest is distinct and has his own life, which doesn't revolve around the MC. I felt like Ryan didn't get much screen time after the beginning, though. Hopefully this will be solved in future books. The beginning was hard to read because of the horrifying events, but I'm glad I kept reading. I'm a bit worried for future books, though because .
This was a great read!! Really played with my emotions with everything that happened to Nora and the reality of what the media and police could do to someone. I loved her men! They all had their own distinct personalities but meshed really well and had their own strengths and weaknesses. I'm interested in their pasts that led to who they are now and I can't wait to read future books to learn. I thought some parts felt a little rushed in the romance department, going from kissing one guy to more with another guy shortly after but it was realistic enough. I love Nora and her personality, she's such a sweetheart despite her past. I don't normal enjoy third person POV but Ripley did great in changing it from character to character so I didn't get lost on who's 3rd person POV it was.
Finding Honor (The Searchers) Paperback – May 30, 2018
by Ripley Proserpina
Ripley Proserpina is one of the greats in the field of RH romance. She shows that status off with this series. Most of the time in this genre, everyone is a-ok or easily persuaded to have a reverse harem. In this book, we see how American alpha males would truly react to this new form of relationship. Ryan, Seok, Apollo, Matisse and Cai don't automatically reach the decision to all date/love Honora (Nora). There is actual tension as the men fight each other and themselves in order to determine if this could be a thing. Nora just works to survive. Having aged out of the foster system when she was 18, every moment has been focused on keeping herself alive, employed, fed and housed. When a tragedy happens at the school she was substituting at, she is hounded by an overzealous detective and the press. She loses everything she owns, her job, her apartment and her possessions. Ryan steps in and brings her home. It was a fresh take on the men that I most enjoyed. They were willing to slay her dragons and each other if they had to. Ms. Proserpina takes her time to address not only what the world might think of Nora for dating and loving five men, but the inner dialogue of the men and Nora. We also get the opportunity to know the men but not filling in their backgrounds. The hard reality of what happens to foster children after they age out is shown as we watch Nora struggle with what it will take to survive, even if that means joining a psychological study that has an eerie connection to the tragedy that set Nora on this path to begin with. Nora's character is fairly unique in this particular genre. She is as damaged as the men. But rather than front-load all her past, pieces are displayed in an opaque manner. We know something horrible happened to her but not quite the extent of what happened, except for a piece here and a hint there. She is a very intriguing character that I want to spend a lot of time with. While there is a little bit of smexy time, Ms. Proserpina has us set at a slow-burn. This allows the characters to make an informed decision. Ms. Proserpina's writing is excellent. She shifts POV smoothly. The story is told in alternating third person POVs. Each character has his or her own ticks and issues as well as a separate tone. I can't wait to read the next one, even though this one kept me up all night!
So I first met Nora and her guys in the Falling For Them anthology. I was intrigued enough by that story to delve into the series as a whole. I loved the premise of the book; it seemed different from the other reverse harem novels I read.
Nora is sweet, naïve, and a survivor. When life throws a curveball at her, she gets knocked down hard. While attempting to gain her balance, she meets five guys. Ryan is studious, intelligent, and serious. Apollo is determined, strong, and sweet. Matisse is intriguing, cosmopolitan, and nice. Cai is guarded, kind, and skeptical. Seok is jerky, awkward, and standoffish. All five of the guys were well written and pretty complex. What failed for me character development wise was Nora. For me, she was a bit of a mess going from scared to comfortable in an instance, hopping from one boy to the next before she really even knows them, and her personality didn’t quite match up with her background (keep in mind these are all my opinions and thoughts). She’s very much the damsel in distress.
This story moves a lot faster than most RH stories I’ve read. I was surprised at the speed in which the characters started to hook up. I did appreciate though that it’s not all smooth sailing. Overall, it’s a decent story and I did enjoy it. I look forward to reading the next installment.

“He'd do anything to keep this - keep her. He needed it. In his whole life, he'd never experienced something as shattering as what he shared with Nora.”
After picking up Falling For Them, a reverse harem anthology, I started reading Finding Nora and it didn't take me long to figure out that it was a continuation of this book. So I put it on hold until I'd read Finding Honor and finally, here I am.
I have to say, I enjoyed Finding Honor dearly and it lived up to my expectations. The story was interesting and the author did great job.
One thing that I did have a problem with, was Nora's behavior. I really did like her character but the choices that she made when it came to the guys, left me feeling confused and a bit angry.
Overall, Finding Honor was a great and well written book, and I'm glad I picked it up. Can't wait to finally continue, or rather start from the beginning, Finding Nora.
Finding Honor, by Ripley Proserpina, is a raw and touching story about finding hope when the entire world has seemingly turned against you. From the first page, Nora’s story pulled me in. The events touch home on much of what is going on in current day, lending the story a relevance that sinks deep and kept me thinking long after the book ended.
Nora is a wonderful character, strong and determined while she fights back against her current situation. Her desire not to take from others, to stand on her own two feet, makes her someone to fall in love with.
When we meet the guys, the connection is realistic, the situation unstable and wonderful for its hesitant feel of impermanence. Ms. Prosperina’s writing style allows readers to fully submerge in every feeling on the page, and let me tell you, there are a lot of them.
Clear your schedule, because you won’t want to put this book down once you start.
Overall, I really liked this story. Nora is an intriguing character. She really hasn't had anyone she could depend on. She finds herself under suspicion after a school shooting, which was done by a past foster brother of hers. Her struggles with the publics perceptions seem very real. Due to her own injuries she finds herself needing help, and in steps Ryan, the legal aid intern. I did find it a little unbelievable that it would be okay for him to take her home from the hospital with him being a part of the legal representation, and that she would go home with someone that is essentially a stranger. Although she is in a desperate situation. This is a reverse harem story, and I liked how each guy was distinct and the relationship that Nora has with each is different. There is clearly a set up for a mystery that will continue into the next books and I am intrigued to find out where that will lead.
Surprisingly amazing! I was not expecting to like this series as much as I did. I completely devoured the first few then life got in the way and I had to take breaks for sleep and work but it sucked me in every time I went back in. I loved the characters, the tension building I even got a few tingles from the many captivating moments where you could feel the connection between Nora and one of her guys. A lot of rh these days introduce it in a kind tongue in cheek way where a friend of a friend knows someone who is in an rh but I much prefer the natural progression which was done so well in this series as it just takes me out of the story otherwise. So glad I took a chance on this, exceeded expectations and gave me all the warm fuzzy feels 🤗🥰.
I liked the premise of this story. It is not often you find the tragedy of a school shooting weaved into a reverse harem story. I wish there had been more development of both the characters and the relationships. Due to the lack of development, I didn't really feel anything. I should have felt anger at the injustice of Honor being falsely accused, heart pounding during the steamier moments and melting when feelings were revealed. Instead all I felt was a minor interest. I am intrigued enough to possibly continue with the series and hope to connect with the characters in future installments.
I really found the premise of this book to be very interesting totally different from the other reverse harem I have read. It's not often you find tragedy of this kind weaved into a reverse harem. I do however wished there had been more than snippets of the history regarding all of the characters, hopefully we'll get more information in the next book. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read and a very slow build love story. So I'm looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this book in the series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
the relationships in this book are a bit rushed (and by that i mean VERY rushed), what with each dude having like three interactions with the MC before announcing their love for her. the writing itself also isn't amazing, though i do love me a dramatic "MC leaves because she thinks it's what's best for the MLs, but in reality they're distraught and rush to find her" plot point.
that aside, i'm intrigued by the psychological aspect that that was introduced towards the end! i'll probably pick up the next book for that reason alone, though i'm also anticipating some more romance in the next book, too!

This was surprisingly better than I thought. Except the relationship between main female and her harem went from zero to hundred in a second. Didn't mind it too much since I like when the author isn't afraid to introduce sex in a book but it surprised me how quickly it sprung up. Like Day 1 : Move in. Day 2: Go grocery shopping with one of your new roommates. Day 2: Get attacked by an overprotective mom. Still Day 2: Comfort sesh with the roommate and start making out in the car.

Through 95% of this book I was going to give it a good 4 stars because I liked the book. Sure it has its issues but nothing I couldn't get over. I've never had a problem with insta-anything so none of that bothered me. But then Nora made a decision by agreeing to a certain something that just made me want to bash my head against a very hard surface. I'll continue the series but I'm pretty biased about Nora now and she better not make more stupid decisions in the next book or I'm just going to give up.
Contemporary Romance. Rh. 5 guys. Nora finds herself being blamed for a school shooting. Her lawyer's intern helps her out by letting her stay with him and his four friends\house mates. This was a very interesting read to say the least. At first I thought it was going to be like a law and order type of thing having a setting in a court room and trying to collect evidence, but nope it more of a mystery\conspiracy plot. It's all really cool. Very creative.
This book was recommended via a book group I follow. I absolutely loved it. I was sad for Nora that at a time in which she should have been celebrated she was actually treated in an appalling manner - guilty by association. I have a sneaky soft spot for Apollo and cai, the gentle giant and the broody one with a heart of gold. I'm so intrigued to continue reading this series I can't wait. I think there's something shifty about the detective, the professor and tyler but only time will tell.
