But even the highly trained, highly observant Ranger can’t sniff out every threat. So when Thor runs up against the real hero in Missy’s life, it’s like stepping on an IED. Game f*cking over.
USA Today bestselling author of the Heroes of Henderson Series.
Liz's Heroes of Henderson series grew out of the New Year's Eve Anthology, Countdown To A Kiss, where the Devine Sisters of Henderson, N.C. had a bet every year at their parents' New Year's Eve ball. The sister who didn't have a date to kiss at midnight had to kiss their nerdy neighbor, Lewis Kampmueller.
Duncan James, the hero of Liz's novella in Countdown To A Kiss (which has also been published separately as Playin' Cop) is not only best friends with Lewis, but with both Brooks Bennett and Vance Evans, his fraternity brothers from NC State. Brooks and Vance are the Henderson cops who kick off the series with Good Cop and Bad Cop.
Recurring characters is the theme of the Henderson series. Each book is a complete romance in and of itself, but you won't lose touch with the couples you fall in love with. They keep playing big parts and small in following books as Brooks and Vance lead Team Henderson in finding ways to revive their small town.
"DuVal Cousin" books are an additional part of the Heroes of Henderson series, and usually are tucked in between books with numbers like 2.5 and 3.5. They can be full length novels or short novellas, and they are based on Lolly DuVal's (from Good Cop) Henderson cousins. Where the Heroes books are hero-centric, the DuVal Cousin books are heroine based.
Henderson is an actual town in North Carolina where some of Liz's favorite people were raised. Liz's version of Henderson is completely fictional since she hasn't had the pleasure of going back in nearly thirty years. But oh the fun she had while visiting there in her youth. Her memories are the perfect landscape for her contemporary romances.
Liz enjoys putting friends and readers in cameo appearances in her books. Originally from Baltimore, she spent every summer near Annapolis, Maryland in a community where dancing and romancing are literally part of its theme song. (The place where Jesse James gets banished from in Bad Cop. There is going to be a series about that place someday.)
A graduate of Wake Forest University, where she met her handsome golf-addicted husband, (who is now sporting dark glasses everywhere he goes) Liz is a mother of two grown sons (also sporting dark glasses) and a miniature Labradoodle named Isabelle. They live in the Fountain of Youth, a.k.a. Naples, FL where dancing and romancing continues on ad infinitum.
The Heroes of Henderson Series in order: Playin' Cop (or Countdown To A Kiss if you want the whole story.) Good Cop Bad Cop Taming Molly Top Dog Tempting Vivi Kissing Cooper ~ A Christmas Quickie Under Dog (Coming soon.)

I love this story! It made me laugh and even cry sometimes! Missy is a city girl who does not want to stay in Henderson. Thurwood Watson III will do everything he can to make Missy fall for him and stay in Henderson. I love this whole series and I love all the characters. I really couldn't stop reading! Awesome book!
I couldn't help but fall in love with Thor. He and Missy made a great team. Trouble is brewing with Viper afoot. This was a very well written love story. Eagerly awaiting the next book.
Mr. Wrong is oh so right for Missy! Thor had my heart from the very beginning because he has a sensitive soul and his single minded devotion to Team Henderson’s new marketing guru is sexy as sin. Missy is a great heroine because she’s the perfect combination of tomboy and sexy siren and her love of rugby is quite entertaining. I enjoyed the ongoing happenings in Henderson with Harry the bartender, Cal and Missy, the Evans family baby news and the ongoing storyline with The Viper. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. These books are sexy, romantic, irreverent and hopelessly addictive as is the fabulous narration performance of Charles Lawrence. Thor’s sexy southern drawl gave me goosebumps!
Thurgood Watson, III aka Thor has been given the task of making Melissa McReady aka Missy fall in love with Henderson. This is not a hardship for Thor, as he wants to make her his so he agrees to do what he can. Missy has plans to leave in three months just until she can help Team Henderson get things going to make Henderson a great town that it once was.
Thor is an awesome hero. He is broken at the beginning of the story, as he has come home after serving his country after his father has died and left him the family plantation. He is in a place where he just doesn’t know what to do with himself until he meets Missy. Then everything changes for him. He lets nothing get in his way to make this woman his!
I can’t begin to put into a paragraph what a great book this is. It was like going home and visiting with old friends, as I’ve read all the books in this series. There is fun, lots of humor, great characters, hot sex, hot men, even a very bad lady to stir up trouble and just an all around fantastic story that will keep you anxiously turning the pages until you reach the end. Once upon a time it was the hero that came charging in to save the heroine and readers loved this story line. However, now to be PC the stories are more about who can save the day first, the hero or the heroine. Liz Kelly has found the perfect balance in her stories as to letting the hero be a man who “looks after his woman” but also he lets the woman be as strong as she can be and follow whatever dream she may have. This is absolutely a perfect combination in my opinion.
I really enjoyed this book. You never know what is going to happen next and that is what I like about the Heroes of Henderson books. Thor a former Army Ranger finally came back home. Not really sure what he was going to do with his life met Missy the new girl in this town. Thor met Missy and really liked her but found out that she might not be staying in town for long. If he had his way he was going try and convince her stay. This book makes you laugh out loud and sometime you want to yell and say what the hell are you thinking. Then you have your sad moments. I love these books because they are never the same thing.
Have loved the books in this series, even though you have the main characters and story, the previous characters and new ones blend in. I often find myself smiling at the antics of some of the characters. Loving this series.

We met Thor and Missy in UnderDog, and I was really excited for their story. I was not disappointed. I absolutely LOVED Thor. And bonus - his Army Ranger buddies stop by Henderson to help him out with a secret fun project for Missy. As always, it was great to catch up with the whole gang, and revisit some of my favorite characters.
