They were quick reads. I did enjoy the cases in each book. By the end of the 3rd book I wasn't interested in continuing the series. The relationship between the main characters got to be aggravating. The insecurities and trust issues lost my interest.

Deterirating
Book 1 Reckless
A touch paranormal with stories deteriorating in each book.
Mia has a ‘gift’. She only has to touch items or people to learn a lot about them and their recent history.
Jack Burton is a cop who worked alongside Mia’s brother Dave for the last year and together they had astounding results. The thing is that Jack and Dave didn’t like each other. Jack is a bit of a hothead and loses his temper very easily, he seems to have a beef with everyone and is always causing a ruckus and has been after a transfer for quite some time but keeps getting blocked. Dave and Jack’s boss, Maxwell, won’t sanction a transfer for Jack as he says he and Dave must have something to be so successful.
Then Dave is found dead in his apartment by Mia. The official word is it’s not suspicious. But Mia doesn’t accept that, having touched a glass in Dave’s apartment she’s convinced he was murdered.
Jack takes the death of Dave quite badly despite them being far from buddies. Jack decides to quit the police just two weeks after Dave’s death.
Mia is quite headstrong and doesn’t think things through. In fact she’s a danger unto herself. Even though she only met Jack at Dave’s funeral she decides that she and Jack should investigate Dave’s death and bring the murderer to rights.
Mia and Jack have a fractious relationship with Jack not believing in Mia’s gift. They’re at loggerheads many times but there is a definite spark between them but neither is committed enough to act on the spark – yet!
They investigate Dave’s death, butting heads with the police as well as each other and another murder occurs along the way with the finger of suspicion being pointed in their direction by the police.
A decent story but the personalities of Mia and Jack is hard going.
Book 2 Shameless
It seems to be standard for all bad men to have never bathed for at least a year. Not sure why but it doesn’t add to the story and it’s a bit stereotypical.
I’m liking Mia less with each book. She can be a self-centred, childish, reckless, volatile, impetuous, irrational and petulant person. She doesn’t endear herself to me anyway.
Jack also has his issues as he doesn’t pay attention to Mia and that makes her worse. Although they have their PI partnership they have no clients so Jack is trading as a private chef and quite a decent one too.
Whilst out one day Mia comes across Jose who is an illegal immigrant who has been enslaved and used as labour. Jose is looking for his sister who left Mexico with him. The search leads to both Mia and Jack chasing people traffickers who use males as slave workers and females in the sex trade. It’s a tough trail to follow for them and includes murder and Mia endangering herself yet again with an ill thought out move.
The story is good and it gets wrapped up quite well with the continuing sexual tension between the two of them causing more bickering, especially when Mia gets herself a boyfriend.
Book 3 Breathless
To add to previous comments about Mia, she is impatient, overactive paranoid imagination and a slob. Run a mile Jack before it’s too late! But Jack is a fool too, he doesn’t keep in touch with Mia who is supposed to be the love of his life. His priorities are all wrong.
Two words describe the two of them. Lies and trust. The lies to each other because their own insecurities mean they don’t trust each other. Not a relationship or partnership made in heaven. Really irritating. Glad when I finished the books to be honest.
Jack gets embroiled in trying to find his ex’s daughter. The ex has told Jack that he is her daughter’s father.
This is a weak story with more friction between Jack and Mia while his ex p,aye him like a fiddle. Predictable ending.
Too much of the story revolves around Jack and Mia fighting with each other and the underlying story is fairly predictable.

This is really a case where there is some serious character development espcialy Mia's case. In each story everyone grows and becomes more of a person then just someone in a plot filling a space.
Mia has a gift she would rather not talk about and many times wishes she did not have. If she touches a person or thing all the feelings contained within are transmitted to her which at many times can become a real pain.
In these 3 books you follow Mia in her different paths and actually become part of her life which at times is a bit confusing. See sometimes Mia can be a (or come across as) bit dimwitted but for her everything has a reason and/or purpose. I really liked her mother's interaction with her and the different way her mom's life took off in this series.
So all that said I would definitely suggest one read the series.

Annoyed
I gave these books a 3 star rating because of how annoying I found the lead character Mia to be. I cannot believe the author made her so dumb that I couldn't stand it. I only kept reading because I was hoping it would get better but it did not. If she was a real person it would be a miracle she didn't kill herself just getting out of bed. She had no common sense whatsoever and should have died early in the first book. However I did like the premise and storylines of the books. I would say more but why bother.

Definitely a Fun Reas
Nice job on the characters and the overall story. A couple of the plot points were a little too predictable and the romance conflict aspect got a little too exaggerated in a few places, but I would definitely read more of these stories. I would recommend this to others.

A frustrating read
I'm not going to read further in this series. The characters, especially the main character's actions, are too frustrating to get into. The main character is unbelievably immature, there's way too much luck involved with her successes, and her 'gift', which has so much potential, is basically undeveloped with no hope of it getting more interesting.

The Mia Kazmaroff Mysteries were great .
I thought the books were wonderful. I read all three in about 2 days. I thought it was refreshing that the heroine was usually the victim in a lot of the back stories.

Quick reads and fairly well written. The plots are good but got frustrated with Mia’s character and her inability to see beyond herself and her actions. Made me want to throttle her at times.

Very good series. Definitely a page turner. Sometimes I wanted to wop either Mia or Jack on the side of the head for not talking to each other, when they should have. Mia for going off as a wild cannon, driven more by emotion to right a wrong, instead of using her head for better solutions. And Jack, in his efforts to protect her, keeps things from her. This only amounts to her going around him and usually ends up in more trouble than had he kept her informed. But they learn from their mistakes as they move forward in their relationship & their partnership. Mia has a special talent that allows her to touch an object & be able to tell its history. What were the emotions of whoever touched it last? This is a talent she inherited from her mother, Jess, who plays a major role in the books.
This collection is broken into 3 books: Reckless, Shameless, & Breathless. Reckless begins the path Mia is about to take, as she pursues her brothers murderer, that had been ruled a suicide. This leads her to her brother's partner, Jack. Shameless: Jack & Mia, who had formed a detective agency to solve the murder of Mia's brother, had brought home an injured illegal named Jose, who claims his sister is missing. That night Jose is murdered & Jack's house is burned down. Jack & Mia set off to find Jose's killer & locate his sister Maria, who they are sure is part of a human trafficking ring. Breathless revolves around a kidnapping of Jack's daughter from an ex-girlfriend. The kink in this, is he's spending all his time with the ex, & can't tell Mia what's going on. Again, he's trying to accommodate someone else's request instead of doing what he feels is should. There were some twists & turn & could not put it down at the end.

Just read through the three of these in a couple days. I’ll be honest, I didn’t love these. The premise was interesting but wasn’t strongly executed-seemed more of a lazy catch up or excuse for some of our female lead’s actions. She tended to be way too impulsive and immature and refused to see how her actions created stress and havoc for those around her...even seeking to shift blame on them and justify herself. Now while that perhaps make her a realistically flawed character it becomes frustrating to see it repeated across three books with little growth. Especially when combined with her partner continually saving her (from where her impulsive actions land her). I gave the series an honest chance. I appreciated the author trying to shine light on a very real, social justice matter in the second book. However, I will not be picking up more books from this series.

When the good guy turns out to be one of the baddies, one wonders how Mia could have been so badly mistaken. She seems to be outdoing herself in almost getting killed, and her impetuosity could have very bad repercussions!

Can things get more complicated? Impulsive to the point of recklessness, Mia wants to prove that she can do everything on her own - and, jealousy is a bitch! Jack knows he should be getting help, but is too honourable to go back on his word - which could end very badly.
A almost - but not quite - expected twist in the tail.

Books 1 & 2 are 3*'s but since they were all together, I kept reading. Book #3? I'd give a 4.5*. Loveable characters. But the lead female is more than a little dopey. Getting herself in stupidly dangerous spots that were easily avoidable had she used that smart brain of hers for a second. But it was sfun to see how she would get out of them. And don't get me started on the male lead. 😀 He does not know how to communicate with the people he cares about in his life. Also causing some commotion.

The books were well written, but personally I just couldn't connect with Mia. She wasn't (in my opinion) believable as an independent 28 year old woman. She never thought through her actions before she acted and I was constantly irritated by her jumping into situations that should have been obviously dangerous to a woman her age. It put me off the series.

4 stars because Mia still being an airhead in the 3rd book. In the real world, she'd be dead. But she improved at the end of the book so I have hope. Other than that, I enjoy the stories and will be checking out book 4.

This is a set of 3 books of a series. The first two I was very surprised
in the reveals. The third one, I was able to figure out pretty quick, but
it was still really good also. I look forward to reading more from this author.
