Alaska's matchmaking moose, Bullwinkle, has his sights set on a most unlikely pair. Holly Noelle Snow loves Christmas so much she could be one of Santa's elves, and Reese Sutton might as well be Scrooge. But there is no way BW will allow these two to ruin his perfect track record. Even if he has to bind them together with Christmas lights.
Police Chief Reese Sutton is haunted by his Christmas past, and he's determined not to fall for Holly, the sexy shop owner of Mooseletoe, who promises to be as naughty as she is nice. While Sutton's kisses burn Holly up, his bah humbug attitude leaves her cold, resurrecting her abandonment issues that she believed had been laid to rest.
It will take a Christmas miracle, or one very persistent moose, for these two opposites to risk falling in love with each other.
USA Today Bestselling Author Tiffinie Helmer is always up for a gripping adventure. Raised in Alaska, she was dragged 'Outside' by her husband, but escapes the lower forty-eight to spend her summers commercial fishing on the Bering Sea.
A mother of four, Tiffinie divides her time between enjoying her family, throwing her acclaimed pottery, and writing of flawed characters in unique and severe situations.
I have found another series that I want to dive into! North Pole, Alaska. Where the men are men and the moose are in charge. One of those moose by the name of Bullwinkle is in the matchmaking business. If he matches a pair they might as well head out to the jewelry store. Great book! I completely enjoyed it!
Holly Snow has always dreamed of living in Alaska. So, she purchases a gift shop in the small tourist town of North Pole, Alaska. To save money she lives in the backroom. One night Holly hears someone trying to break into her store and calls 911. Police Chief Reese Sutton responds. The culprit turns out to be Bullwinkle, a well-known moose who was hungry and thought the reef on Holly's door looked appetizing. Bullwinkle uses his matchmaking ways to throw Holly and Reese together.
This was a cute story. Holly is friendly, funny, and always ready to make friends. The holidays are her favorite time of year. Reese is surly and hates the holidays since his fiancee stood him up at the altar several years ago. Bullwinkle has his work cut out for him with these two. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
I got such a kick out of this holiday romance! Even drunk, Bullwinkle (BW) the moose was a uniquely suited Christmas Cupid! And Reese and Holly’s sizzling chemistry and sexy attraction led to a wonderful Christmas romance that had me feeling all sorts of warm fuzzies! Now my grabby hands want to pick up BW’s other matchmaking results..
Holly Noelle Snow arrived in town a few months ago and it will be her first Christmas in Alaska. You can guess that with a name like that, she either hate or love the Holidays.
"But winter was her favorite season. She's been christened Snow after all. So let it snow."
The owner of a little shop called Mooseletoe, she's also lucky enough to live ten-foot from her workplace. She's making herself a hot chocolate at home when she hear a rustling noise coming from the store. Without taking any risks, she calls the cops.
Reese Sutton, the Police Chief, answer the call and discover her intruder if of the fourth-legged variety, more specifically, a moose who decorated himself with her Christmas lights. When he meet Holly for the first time, he's dumbstruck. But after his ex left him at the altar in front of the whole town, he sworn off relationships. Anyway, he's gonna have to keep his distance from her because: -She's clearly relationship material -She's a Christmas nut (and he's a Scrooge)
But staying away won't happen, thanks to the matchmaking intruder who's been known for "introducing" other couples to each other.
First, I have to thank my Goodreads friend, Julie, who posted about this cute Holidays short story. I had a great time reading it. There was a few moments of silliness, but I found it funny anyway and I wish I could visit this town, the places, the shops that the author described. And I liked the romance between the uptight sheriff and the joyful Holly and their heated foreplay. I also enjoyed the fact that like me, the heroine live in a tiny apartment and it suit her just fine, and that she's also a fan of peppermint hot chocolate ;p.
Small town, wildlife and Christmas, the perfect combination!
Holly Noelle Snow has always felt a pull to move to the wilds of Alaska and loves all things Christmas. So finally setting up shop in the kirky Christmas town of North Pole is pretty much a dream come true. One night, after the famous moose, BW (Bull Winkle) causes a bit of chaos thanks to getting drunk off crabapples, Holly meets Chief Reese Sutton and things get a bit more interesting.
Reese can't deny the instant pull he feels towards North Pole's newest Christmas loving resident but he isn't ready to risk another romantic disaster. His life is fine as is, at least that's what he tells himself. But Holly isn't a woman easily ignored or forgotten. But with one too many mistakes where she's concerned and new revelations about Holly throw things into a whirlwind.
What I liked: I loved the MCs, Reese was a bit bent out of shape but Holly knew just how to work around all his grumpiness. Holly was a great character, she was sweet and caring and definitely not a push over.
I love Christmas as much as the next but although this town sounds amazing, I don't know if I'd be able to live in it year round, Lol!
Secondary characters piqued my interest (Lynx and Gemma - the little bit we got - sound worth a read of their own HEAs) and the writing was good.
What I didn't like: This definitely needed to be longer. I needed more Reese and Holly! Especially since there was some heavy/intense revelations towards then end I would have loved to read more about.
Memorable Moments: Being tied to a tree by a Christmas lights tangled Moose is pretty memorable! The instant attraction between Holly and Reese was explosive and raged indefinitely after that smoking hot first kiss.
I did not see the whole Gemma/Holly reveal even though there were clues hinting it.
I've always wanted to visit Alaska and now I think that might become true one day. Though, I might freak out if I ever see a Moose. Just saying.
Mooseletoe was a very cute holiday romcom. Ever since I met Holly, I just knew I was going to like her. One, she loves winter and I love winter. Two, she owns a shop called Mooseletoe which I find completely adorable. Three, she's in Alaska and I've never been.
So, when she's in the middle of enjoying her hot chocolate (which - yum!) and here's something she shouldn't. She hides in a tub and calls the cops. Enter the sexy Police Chief, Reese Sutton, who answers the call and finds the intruder: a moose. A freaking moose guys.
There might something instantaneous between them, feeling wise, but he's a scrooge so nothing really happens. Well, not for a hot minute or two because he's a sucker and eventually falls for her. Plus, the moose Christmas magic definitely helps too.
In the end, I honestly enjoyed this so much. It was really cute and the chemistry between these two was off the chain. Or maybe I was just really into the holiday spirit / wine. Either way, I enjoyed the heck out of this and can't wait for my holiday themed rom com to come my way.
5 Stars! What a fun book! It was silly and sweet and even sexy. Tiffinie Helmer is a new author for me. Moostletoe is my very first book by this author. Truthfully, I don't know if I would have come across this author if it wasn't for a free promotion included in an email I received. I am so happy I got to read this fantastical, whimsical and humorous romance.
Noelle reminds me of myself. If I could pick up my life, move to Alaska and sell Christmas all year round, I would. At least give it a try because I'm not so confident I'd survive the short days and freezing temperatures. Still, I think the whole premise of this book was adorable. In addition, the characters added depth and a ton of humor. Especially BW, lol.
Reese has a bad attitude toward the holidays. His churlish nature spills over into his relationships. Or should I say, lack of? Reese is not a commitment guy. Not anymore, at least. Will two complete opposites find warmth and love with each other? Or will past insecurities leave them cold and lonely? One of my favorite moments in this book happens at the end. What an amazing gesture by Reese! I can't say more but you'll just love it as well.
If you have room for one more Christmas romance on your TBR's, I absolutely recommend you check this book out. I will certainly be reading more from this author. I just adored this wonderful book!
This is my honest review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
You know how some over-the-top plots just work for you and some just leave you rolling your eyes?
Unfortunately this was the eye-rolly kind for me.
It started off cute enough, but it lost me with some of the language use (the female MC calls all sex making love while the male MC can talk about fucking). There was some seriously possessive bs with the male MC, too.
But the real over-the-top reveal 3/4ths of the way through is where it REALLY lost me. It was just a bridge too far for me. Your mileage may vary!
I also just could not quite buy the whiplash from “I’m not sure about relationships” to insta-love. It was...bewildering.
This was free on Amazon and I don’t regret reading it...but alas, I think this will be my last match-making moose story.
This is a nice adult romance with a sweet premise - a newcomer to a small town in Alaska finds the men are hitting on her, and a rowdy moose scares her so much she calls the police. The cop who shows up has no intention of harming the moose - nor of getting into a relationship. But seems like the moose knows best. The story goes on for several more days and I was actually cross that the man saved the woman so many times. Can we have a story in which the woman saves the man? And not just from his relationship issues?
The title comes from the name of the shop that is selling Christmas decorating tat. I don't know what the owner intends to sell for the rest of the year, but this seems to be an ongoing romance series, heavy on the alcohol. This is an unbiased review.
Do I like cheesy romance stories? Absolutely not. Romance is my least favorite genre.
But I Liked This.
Do I like preposterous plots where everything works out in the end? I do not; how cliche.
But I Liked This.
Do I like an anthropomorphic animal that is so quirky, cute and so clever that it drives the plot in a wacky direction that never happens in real life? Well, okay, I admit to liking that in my stories.
Bullwinkle the matchmaking moose won my heart without even trying.
Apparently from the ratings here and on Amazon, I have plenty of company who liked this story in spite of the same things I don't like in other stories. It's a short story; it's over quick and goes down easy!
This book is so bad it’s good! The plot is totally ludicrous - a matchmaking moose in a Christmas-obsessed Alaskan town called North Pole, where everyone has surnames like Snow and Frost - therefore just what you want for some light, cheesy Christmas Eve reading. I’m tempted to read the rest of the matchmaking moose series now!
> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < Who wouldn't fall in love with this cover? From its silly title to the design, it screams FUN! Then there's the synopsis and you are smacked with a holiday overload, in the best possible way!
> > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Third-person
Note: While this story IS related to Ms. Helmer's "Wild Men of Alaska" series, it is not listed as being part of the series. And although it is clear several couples introduced throughout this book had had a story before this, at no time did I feel lost or confused for not having read them. That said, I **AM** interested in going back to read the previous titles in the series, especially for more moose antics! Holly's a recent Alaskan transplant from Minnesota, becoming a new shop owner just in time for Christmas. Chief Sutton is a grumpy grinch that loathes North Pole, Alaska and all its tacky embracing of the holiday spirit. He only moved back to town to help keep his adventurous mother in check after she suffered a snow machine accident with multiple injuries. She always felt a connection and longed to move there. Add a mischievous, matchmaking moose and some hilarious mishaps and this made for one thoroughly enjoyable read! The lead couple had such opposing personalities that it was a joy to watch them slowly evolve into something cohesive. The secondary characters were charming and fun. Dialogue was smart, the cast interactions felt natural. The plot entertained but slowed down a little for me as the BW sightings declined to nothing. In his place came a new surprise. There were several things thrown at them, individually as well as together. Some issues were addressed but several were not. The conclusion felt rushed and abrupt, the last chapter being akin to a racecar driver hitting a cinderblock wall doing 200 mph, even though there is an implied HEA. Overall, it was enjoyable and entertaining. . Rating: [R] ~ Score: 4.225 ~ Stars: 4

Bullwinkle, the match-making moose, targeted Police Chief, Reese, and newcomer, Holly. He somehow tied them together with Christmas lights! And also got some tangled in his antlers. What a way for Holly and Reese to meet. This pair was an odd match since Reese hated Christmas (because he had been left at the altar on Christmas Day) and Holly loved it. So much so that she went overboard on decorating. Aside from their obvious mismatch, they were very attracted to each other.
This fun romance is perfect for Christmas. Even though we didn’t see a lot of Bullwinkle, he popped up when he needed to give a little push to the pair he was match-making. The picture of him on the cover with Christmas lights wrapped around his antlers made me take a closer look at this book. And I’m so glad I did. I loved Bullwinkle. What a cute idea to have him match up couples.
If you are looking for a fun Christmas romance, you should read this book.
The Christian love story of Holly and Sutton. Holly thing someone is broken in to her shop and she call the North Pole police for help. It turn out to be the town wall known moose , BW. He is will know for his match making. Can a Christmas love find happen with a non Christmas lover? Great story.
The more I read the more I enjoyed it too I seldom finish a book on the first time but e every time I put it down I pick it up again I liked the way BW put them together
Perfect for a Christmas vacation read. I'll need to catch up with earlier books to see how BW does his match making. It does remind me a little bit of Fred the Moose from Marie Force's Green Mountain Series.
This was a funny and enjoyable holiday romance. Christmas shop owner Holly Snow and Polece Chief Sutton who is more like Scrooge are brought together by a moose.
BW is the star of the show, and Holly was lovingly written. A very enjoyable cold winter da was had with a quilt, a cup of tea, and the town of North Pole! (Someone pass me a sucker, please!)
Around page twenty, the word Eskimo was casually dropped, and I wrinkled my nose, thinking "Isn't Eskimo generally considered a pejorative term, and we now use Inuit instead? And shouldn't someone who's familiar enough with Alaska to write a book set there know that?"
However, after consulting Wikipedia, it looks like Eskimo is still the term used in Alaska owing to the proliferation of the Yupik there. The Yupik are a different subset of Native peoples who are not members of the Inuit tribe, and therefore not covered under that term. Learn something new every day!
So if you, like me, had a knee-jerk "Wait, is this insensitive?" reaction, fear not! It’s (probably) not.
Now, on to content:
It could have used a better editor- there were several instances where I reread a sentence a few times before saying “Yeah, that’s not how you phrase/spell that.”
The matchmaking moose was adorable. I liked Sutton and Holly a lot. The twist in the third act, was just too far-fetched to land for me. I mean, it’s a Christmas romance novel, basically the only place that sort of contrivance might fly, but to expect me to believe ? Yeah, I’m just not buying it.
If you like ridiculously cheesy, overly-happy, love-at-first-sight holiday romances, you’ll like this fine.
It is my first read by Tiffinie Helmer and I’m definitively hooked by these loose mooses. I just downloaded it my kindle her two bundles about wild people in Alaska. But first here, what an soul warming story we have, with a hot and sexy kind of Scrooge cop, Chief Reese Sutton and a bundle of cheers and Christmas light, Holly. Holly is an angel, what ever faith threw on her path, she stays a sunshine ray, always smiling and seeing the positive side of life, while Reese closed his heart with steel walls after an ugly heartbreak, and gave up on love and Christmas time. Until a drunken matchmaker moose decided to take charge with their heart. I loved the perfect mix between smile, laugher, heartache, tears, love and steamy moments! A wonderful book for a sweet time, prepare your hot chocolate, a batch of cookies, spread a warm blanket and be ready to meet Bull-Winkle.
You can always count on Tiffinie Helmer to deliver a romance that will curl your toes and make you feel all warm and squishy inside. While shorter than most and long-awaited, this book is no exception. Holly and Reese have chemistry with a capital C. Doesn't take them long to put it to the test, either. But then, they had a helping hand, er, hoof.
If I could give this 10 stars I would. This is the cutest little Christmas love story I have read in a long time. I can just picture a massive bull moose all wrapped up in Christmas lights. Everyone has heard of Cupid but I bet no one has heard of BW (Bullwinkle) and no this is not Rocky's partner lol. I laughed out loud as I read this book and so will you! If you want to find out more about the moose you will have to read it, you will love it I promise!
Just in time for Christmas. BW is at it again! Reese and Holly are perfect for one another and although they keep denying it. So what's a match making moose to do? Create a little moose havoc for these two. Tiffinie Helmer takes us back to Alaska and old friends Lynx , Trixie and a few more show up . Love seeing them all again. and it got a surprise twist involving some Characters I love. I never saw coming and it's great!
It deserves ten stars. I laughed out loud at Bullwinkle's antics. He has a way of knowing the people that are meant to be together and sets about causing it to happen. Holly loves everything about Christmas, while Reese hates everything Christmas. Bullwinkle has his own ideas. How they get together is hilarious and at the same time tugs at your heart. All the characters were just that, "characters" You'll love it too.
As an advanced reader of this book I was thoroughly entertained. Well written. Great characters. BW the match making Moose strikes again with a flare. Bringing in characters from Ice Breaker and Dream Weaver reminded me how great those books were. A great read. I highly recommend this book.
