For over a decade a small town has been plagued by a serial killer known as the Death Dealer, who has never been caught, and speculation of who the individual is has faded with time. Now a mimic killer has recently appeared mocking the killings of the Death Dealer. A community is now in panic and desperate for answers. A young woman named Lilly keeps having nightmares of her own father killing people. With the disappearance of her best friend Alex, Lilly now fears that she has become a victim of the Death Dealer, and so she will do anything to save her, even if that means accusing her own father of Alex’s abduction. Now Lilly must carefully investigate every possible avenue to uncover the truth, even if the truth opens up a dark past.
Lilly by Kevin Andrew is a great serial killer mystery thriller. This book kept my interest and had me guessing and switching the killers the whole way through. Love the short chapters. Quick and fun to read.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster! It literally propels you forward faster and faste! So many times, I thought I had the killers figured out, and then the author would strategically drop a sentence, and I would be left scrambling! Well done, very well done for a first novel. The "intrigue" factor is over the top, excellent! Serial killers, abductions, small town, family dysfunction, manipulation, and a whole lot of mystery! Excellent first novel, highly recommend.
The plot is fabulous in this debut novel! I was caught off guard a couple of times, which made for a fun reading experience. There are some possible triggers, but those moments were glossed over enough that they may not be an issue. It took a while for me to adjust to the writing style, and the characters weren’t super relatable (to me), but I enjoyed this story and look forward to checking out future books from this author.
