"I’m inviting you into the confidence conversation.  It’s time to stop being unhappy with yourself. You can choose to stop second-guessing all of your decisions and commitment and wondering whether your life would be better if only you had chosen differently.  I invite you to be present where you are—where God is!—and to embrace your life and live out your God-given gift of confidence.

Come join me in the pages, my friend.  Let’s talk about who you are.  Let’s hold hands and run hard into the glorious mess of it all.  I don’t know what challenges wait for you, but this I know for sure: You Can Do This."

When you’ve finished reading this book, I hope you’ll think, "This book made me think and laugh, and now I feel like I can do this next thing in front of me." I hope you’ll feel hope, courage, strength, encouragement, presence, freedom, and confidence to move forward into your life with the awareness that you were born for this. I hope, girl to girl and eye to eye, we can remember that we are called to claim complete confidence.

Finding your confidence is a miracle. I know this, because I found mine. And when I looked hard at the woman I’ve become, when I finally recognized the courageous warrior hidden in this frame, I was surprised by joy and astonished by awe. I want the same awareness for you.

From the quote shared at the beginning of chapter one, "I wish I'd known from the beginning that I was born a strong woman. What a difference that would make" I knew I had stumbled on something not only wonderful, but also something that would impact me deeply.

As I read page after page, I felt like Tricia was talking directly to me, showing me how to step out in confidence more and more. I cried as she shared her personal stories with us and showed me that, although our fears were born out of different circumstances, I’m not alone in some of the fears I’ve faced. And with each chapter I felt like even though this book wasn’t written specifically to me, she honestly believed that I could do whatever God has called me to do.

Tricia speaks head on to the fear that comes with the idea of stepping out in confidence, and yet breathed life into that very idea with every word she wrote. If you will let it, I believe God will greatly use this book to impact your life and change the way you think about yourself. I know He has greatly used it in my life, and He’s not done. I am an avid reader and yet I can honestly say, it has been quite a long time since i’ve read a book that impacted me as much as this one has. I’m currently trying to figure out who all in my life needs to read this book, and how I can afford to buy a copy for each of them!

I highly recommend working through each of the "Stepping Forward" sections at the end of each chapter in order to get the most out of each chapter. Don't skip over them! They really are a huge addition to the book. If you've ever struggled with a lack of confidence, you can't go wrong with this book!

This book was my favorite of Tricia Lott Williford's three books, though I loved the other two as well. Every woman will find herself in these pages. No matter how confident we may seem in our daily worlds, we all have those times when our hearts and souls ache, wondering if we are "enough." Through stories, humor, tears, and promises of God, Tricia assures us that indeed: we are.

OMG - This is a unbelievable book. You will want every woman in your circle of influence to read it. Men, we can learn a thing or two as well from this book, about what women are thinking, how to give them additional confidence, and how not to steal it!

This is such logical progression from grief and single parenting in her two other books, And Life Comes Back: One Woman's Heartbreak and How She Found Tomorrow and Let's Pretend We're Normal: Adventures in Rediscovering How to Be a Family .

There is wonderful storytelling and unbelievable biblical truths and practical ideas to implement!
It is a easy enjoyable read and could be used for individual or small group additional study as well.

"The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in you"-Tricia Lott Williford

Reading this book is like sitting down with a dear friend over a warm beverage and just talking life. Tricia invites you into the process of becoming confident through confidence in Christ. I laughed out loud and cried on other pages, my highlighter was pulled out often. Tricia, writes in a way that makes you feel like you are talking to a friend but also that you will learn something new about yourself with each page. Topics include loss, love (Chapter 9 is a favorite), relationships. boundaries, etc.

If you are looking for an approachable book that still has deep richness I highly recommend "You Can Do This".

Tricia's style of writing with openness and vulnerability makes this book feel like a great weekend with your best girlfriend, the one who has always believed in you and knows the truth about you. Through stories of her life, she asks you to examine the your own to see really where things went wrong in your path to confidence. Her probing questions at the end of the chapter dive deeper into each topic helping you work through the confidence dilemma. We spend so much of our life fighting against comparison, lack of boundaries, and other's opinions of ourselves. You Can Do this reminds you God's truth about the amazing woman He made you to be. This book is incredible.

This book is a beautiful blend of memoir and encouragement. The author shares pieces of her life while also providing tips and journaling prompts for the reader. The resulting pages feel like a conversation with a mentor or friend. This book would be great for a small group, or an individual reader who feels she (or he) needs someone in her corner saying "You got this girl!"

Some books come into one's life at just the right time, and Tricia Lott Williford's book You Can Do This was one of those for me. I read it during the week leading up to my finals week of my first year in college, and her words offered a loving reminder of the confidence that one has in Christ. Through her honesty and transparency, Tricia creates an environment for the reader that encourages a feeling of trust and care among readers. I plan to share this book with many of my friends so that they may also be blessed by the experiences and wisdom that saturates this book.

Do you want to be the confident girl? Then send those negative voices and thoughts packing!

This book has opened my eyes to the self-sabotage that I've been doing to myself in the gentlest of ways. God speaks to you through Tricia and lifts the veil of those negative thoughts and feelings that keep us weighed down and stuck, yet validates those feelings at the same time. Tricia shares her life with you, telling you about her first bully, Mrs. Wretched, through getting remarried after being suddenly widowed with two small boys. She has found joy amidst her pain and she will be your cheerleader and voice of reason as you move through your current storms. You will laugh with her and cry with her in these pages, and in the end you'll learn that God is with you. God has given you the tools to navigate this blip on the timeline called Life. We just have to remember His love while pushing out the negative voices that try to keep us stuck.

This book empowers women to be more confident and find happiness. It is Tricia's third book following her previous books, "Life Comes Back" and "Let's Pretend We're Normal". In her first two books she eloquently tells her story of how she became a widow two days before Christmas and how she moved on with two little boys to raise. Having decided that her label in life would not be "the widow", nor an expert on grief and loss, Tricia reclaimed her old self of being the confident girl through life's lessons, gifts, and God's love and shares it in "You Can Do This: Seizing the Confidence God Offers".

Come, pull up a seat at Tricia's table. She has a feast of love waiting to share with you.

Review:

When I first ordered this book, the title and summary both promised "seizing the confidence God offers", in general terms, but when I started into it I quickly realized that this is a book for women. In fact, I didn't even get past the table of contents, in which each chapter description is, "The confident girl.... [does whatever]". This could have been made clearer, but I really don't hold it against the book. Although I will say that the material could have been handled in such a way to appeal to men as well, broadening the author's audience.

Incidentally, my wife took one look at the cover and immediately said, "It's a girl book." I was taken aback and asked how she knew that. "There's a pair of shoes on it." I'd have gotten killed for saying that! :)

Even so, I really began to resonate with this book right away, especially in the introduction where she stated, "The only difference between you and the confident person is one thing: Confidence." At this point I started thinking I could get some great things out of this book, but little did I realize that there was a shadow lurking, even within this clever turn of a phrase.

Wilford is very a good author, and does a great job of being vulnerable with her own struggles with feelings of inadequacy.

"I don't make mistakes, I have failures." she says. That is, when something goes wrong, she (and I, both) struggle with the lie that we didn't just make a mistake because we're human, but we failed because we're failures. This was a real shot-to-the-heart moment!

Not only that, but the opposite is true as well, namely, not only does losing prove I'm worthless, but also, since I'm worthless I don't even deserve the victories.

(I'd add that this self-destructive thinking is only re-enforced through peer-pressure and socialist education which punishes exceptionalism as "weird" and wrong, and marginalizes the exceptionally smart as, "nerds", but that's a can of worms for another fishing trip.)

"If I'm honest," Williford says, "there's a part of me that will always be a middle schooler navigating the cafeteria of life, hoping to quickly find my place; dodge the microscope of critics; and feel known, seen, and safe."

Yep. Totally with you.

In many ways I identified with the author, and enjoyed her godly advice. Yet the ideas presented in this book have a strange duality that makes it difficult for me to endorse. While the author is clearly confident with scripture and handles it well, she also has synchrotized that with the advice of ungodly purveyors of wisdom of our age.

Now, on some level I don't mind this. After all, it is a fundamental concept of logic to take a given statement and evaluate it soley on its own merit rather than the character of the one giving it.

That being said, there is a vast difference between that and becoming a doting disciple of the ungodly.

Williford relies far too heavily on the advice of "new spirituality" purveyors such as Oprah Winfrey and Brené Brown as well as her psychotherapist Jana, devoting the entire middle third of her book to their advice alone, no scripture needed!

[It may be off topic here, but briefly, "new spirituality" is the same as old idolatry. The only difference between an idol carved from stone and one made of ideas is that the former can at least keep papers from blowing off your desk.]

As a result, what started out as an authentic and genuine problem and Biblical advice, the book degenerates quickly into wonderful ideas like visualizing a box in your mind to hide all of your emotional "stuff" in. That is, my friends, is what we call A HORRIBLE IDEA! When my kids hide stuff they don't want to deal with in a box, around our house we call that "stashing", and as I point out a minimum of 300 times a day, "That doesn't fix the mess. That only moves the mess." Emotionally, it's even worse, because you don't know when they're going to pop out at you like funhouse monsters.

Dear, sweet Jana sure isn't doing Williford any favors!

I think the lowest point for me though (and I think this is a great example of the conflicted advice), was when she said, "Hold on... to what? You hold on to whatever is keeping you from floating away. You find the one thing that is solid, safe, and secure, and you don't let it out of your sight. Don't let it out of your grip. Hold on to the one thing you can find that is real and true."

Freeze frame there. So far, sounds right, doesn't it? We know exactly what that "one thing" is! ...right? ...right?

Nope. "Hold on to the one thing you can find that is real and true. Your child. Your art. Your family. A playlist. A song. A phrase. A word. Hold on to that with both hands."

Oh! Good thing you said something! I was going to go for the firm foundation of the Word of God [Luke 6:46-49], but my mistake. Just need to update the old iTunes.

Okay, I apologize for my over-the-top snarkiness, but this completely reeks of new spirituality. That is, " 'whatever' [direct quote from above] gives you a spiritual buzz is just as good as anything else, just cling to that and you'll be fine." Not cool. Very not cool.

I mean, upbeat music and those other things are great, but PLEASE don't run to your playlist in times of trouble! That's just idolatry all over again!!!

Conclusion:

In conclusion, would I recommend this book? Sadly, no. And if you choose to read it anyway, I recommend doing so with the utmost discernment, testing everything against the Word.

Furthermore, my heart breaks for the author who has undergone so much. Please join me in praying for this woman personally, that the Spirit should bring discernment of the many voices competing for her attention. That she could turn away from those who are wise in the world's eyes, and rather find comfort and healing in the arms of Jesus. Amen.

"You Can Do This: Seizing the Confidence God Offers" by Tricia Lott Williford is an encouraging read for any woman in any stage of life, facing any type of struggle. It is a non-fiction Christian book that is a mix of self-help, memoir, and Christian encouragement. Ms. Williford tells her story to the reader in a way that feels like you are having a conversation with her over a cup of coffee (or tea). She inserts many helpful and encouraging nuggets of truth for those who are going through hard times or need a confidence boost. Some examples of topics that she covers are negative thoughts, boundaries, and how we define ourselves. She puts practical ways to implement these truths at the end of each chapter.

I love this book! I feel like Ms. Williford was reading my mind at times and the way she writes is like she is speaking directly to one’s soul. Her words and stories brought smiles to my face and tears to my eyes. I love how encouraging and practical this book is. I especially love Ms. Williford's section on replacing negative thoughts and feelings with Scripture and positive affirmations. She even lists out relevant Scripture to use for different circumstances. I personally have been through some rough seasons and have wrestled with my confidence and not feeling like I could do some hard things (like my recent battle with chronic pain and chronic illness). Ms. Williford's words are balm to my weary soul. I highly recommend this book to any woman, because we all need to hear these words at one point or another in our lives.

Content and Rating: I give this book 5 stars. It is a clean read. Ms. Williford is very open and honest about some of the struggles she has gone through (for example, sexual abuse and PTSD). She doesn't go into detail about her abuse.

I want to thank Tricia Lott Williford and Tyndale House Publishers for the complimentary copy of this book for review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I express in this review are my own. This is in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s CFR 16, Part 255.

When I read the statement in the beginning of this book, "if you wouldn't give them a seat at your table, then don't give them a voice in your life," I was hooked. Tricia Lott Williford has come through so much in her short life. Instead of withering on the vine she has chosen to use her grief and pain to reach out to others and invite them to her table, giving them power and control over their own heartache and making folks feel like they're not alone and not crazy. This book focuses on what she learned during the most horrific time in her life and the years following, how she got through those dark days, and how God shined light into her darkness.

Sometimes you choose a book because it has a pretty cover (check!) and an interesting title (check!), but if I'm being completely honest, this book chose me. I never thought I had much of an issue with confidence in my life until very recently. Then, as though God hand-delivered this book to me personally, I began to read what He says about me, through the gentle, funny, and well-written words of the author. Tricia Lott Williford shares intimate details of her own life, which naturally encourages the reader to look deeper into her own, ask important questions, and look to God for the answers. Although "You Can Do This" address a deep and complicated topic, it is an entertaining read, full of humor, love, and most importantly, LIFE. This is a MUST READ for any woman who needs a refresher on what God says about her (isn't that all of us?!) and His power that resides within. RUN, don't walk, to purchase this book! And buy one for all the women in your life, because you aren't going to want to lend your copy to anyone! Happy reading! :)

Thank you Tricia! This book was just right for me during this very difficult time. I appreciate your reminders about how important our confidence can be. I love that you are a teacher in Denver since I am an elementary school counselor near Denver as well. I bet your students love to see your radiant smile every day. Thank you for the work you do ❤️

In today's world it is easy for a woman to feel less than, to feel like she just doesn't measure up because of a number of reasons. It's easy to buy into the lies we are told and turn them into our own truth. "You Can Do This" helps re-frame so many of those thoughts and feelings and process through what God's view of us is and what He has called us to be. Confident in ourselves, daughters of the King.

I have read all of Tricia Lott Williford's books, the masterfully written stories of her life. I fully expected the same with this book, which has many of the same qualities. What I didn't expect was how much it would change me, pushing me to be everything that God calls me to be. I'm several weeks past finishing this book, and still reaping the benefits of her honesty and passion for what she has written.

You Can Do This: Seizing the Confidence God Offers is an absolutely phenomenal book. I was fortunate enough to receive an autographed copy of this book from the author, Tricia Lott Williford, in exchange for being a part of the launch team and having the ability to read the book when it was still pre-release and in exchange for this totally unbiased review. This is one of the types of book that people like me read with a black ball point pen in hand, underlining key phrases and writing feverishly in the margins--Tricia seemed to be able to speak truth, both hers and God's--directly into my heart, one chapter at a time. Chapter 9 touched my heart in a unique way, and the way that Tricia describes opening her heart to meeting and getting to know Peter after having loved and lost is truly special. One quote in the book that meant a lot to me was in the chapter called Pass Your Brave Along. It said, "Having confidence means you can reclaim your story and decide what to do with it. That person who stole your confidence doesn't get to keep it. God holds every confidence, now and always, and it's free for the taking--and free for the sharing. Your vulnerability and setbacks are the very things that make you strong and brave. They are what allow you to say, "Somebody did that to me, but that wasn't the end of my story. Here's how I'm living differently. You can do it too. " I highly recommend this book.

The subtitle of this book says it all: Seizing the Confidence God Offers. And while that might seem like yet another trite "prosperity gospel" headline, author Tricia Lott Williford digs in with transparent, vulnerable examples from her own life, and the scripture that has carried her through some of the most difficult years one can imagine. She has emerged from these challenges with real, applicable lessons on confidence that are beneficial to any reader, but particularly to women in this day and age who are bombarded by images about "who" they should aspire to be.

Tricia's writing style is conversational and encouraging, as she takes her readers under her wing and invites us to learn alongside her--lessons from her childhood (her first "Confidence Thief" and how her awesome mom coached her to deal with it), scenes from her young adulthood and early married years, and also lessons learned through the loss of her husband at a young age, when she needed to be a mom to her two boys, and figure out exactly how to do something she didn't always feel like she could do. She raises points applicable not only to widows, single mothers, or those grieving, but to anyone who has ever questioned their purpose; ever wondered if they were doing "enough;" anyone trying to juggle and balance the many demands placed on them in life. The book is full of hope and encouragement, but also practical action steps toward "seizing" the confidence mentioned in the title--and realizing the source of that confidence is God, not anything we can say, do, or achieve.

I went into this book expecting a good read, but I didn't know how inspired and challenged I would be. Tricia ends each chapter with questions to consider and an action step for reflection and moving forward. These are insightful both for the individual reader and for a potential book club or Bible study group--I can see how this book would lend itself well to further discussion amongst a group of women who could encourage one another through the chapters. Having read Tricia Lott Williford's blog and other books (And Life Came Back and Let's Pretend We're Normal) I knew she was a gifted storyteller and had was able to share her life's circumstances to teach and share what she has learned the hard way. This book is a joyful celebration, a rainbow after the storm, and it is beautiful to see the joy and confidence shared within this book after having "virtually" walked a road of grief and sorrow with Tricia in her other writing. I highly recommend this book, have already purchased several copies as gifts for friends, and will continue to give this book to others in the future. Seriously--go read it. You'll be glad you did! :)

You Can Do This: Seizing The Confidence God Offers by Tricia Lott Williford is a compilation of insights focusing on various character traits and qualities of a confident girl. This is not a traditional "self-help" book. In the introduction, Tricia tells us "I didn't write this book to help you. I have definitely written it to you and certainly for you to read, but I did not write it to help you." Instead, Tricia proposes that we view this book as a conversation between friends, having been invited into her kitchen for a chat over scones and a cup of coffee.

Within these pages, Tricia shares with us those things which make a woman confident while relying on God to guide her through life's many challenges, trials, and pitfalls. She uses her witty sense of humor and candid honesty to share her personal stories of times when her confidence blossomed, and times when it dwindled. She also reminds us of Biblical characters and Scripture verses which show that the battle with confidence is a timeless one. She finishes each chapter with insights, questions, and opportunities for you to share your side of this little chat.

So what exactly are these traits of a confident woman and how do we uncover and perfect them within our own lives? Tricia starts the first chapter by informing us that "The confident girl knows her story", which takes us to the root of our battles with confidence. After reading her story, it becomes your job to share your story about when your confidence was stolen from you so that the wounds can be exposed to sunlight and the pain can be faced. She wastes no time in dealing with the heart of the problem, because only then can the healing begin.

Once you've shared your story (even if it remains locked tight within the pages of a journal of scribbled in the margins of this book), you'll move on to other important steps to regaining (and maintaining) your confidence, such as: the confident girl appreciates her beauty, the confident girl enjoys her own company, the confident girl sets boundaries, and the confident girl chooses vulnerability...

I'd recommend this book for any woman who could use reminders and suggestions to come out of hiding and boost her confidence in herself, her place in this world, and her purpose in God's magnificent plan. Due to some mildly explicit sexual material, I would not suggest this book for girls on their way to becoming women, but rather to women who already in the throes of adulthood. 4/5 stars.

*Disclaimer: I received a complimentary print copy of this book from Tyndale House Publishers for the purpose of this honest review. All opinions are my own.*

“Here’s what you can know for sure, beyond the shadow of doubt, no matter how you feel from day to day and moment to moment. God knows your name; you belong to him. He sees your every move, and there’s no place you can go where he won’t join you. He thinks about you, and he similes over the idea of you. He is with you wherever you go. He will fight for you, and he has a plan for you. He is good, he is freedom, and he has a place for you: next to him.” –Tricia Lott Williford, You Can Do This

Have you ever read a book that so completely sums up your thoughts, feelings, struggles, and circumstances that you find yourself looking over your shoulder, thinking, How did this author get in my head? It is a rare and beautiful thing, and it is exactly what Tricia Lott Williford has accomplished in her newest book, You Can Do This.

Aimed at encouraging women to embrace their confidence in Christ, You Can Do This joins women where they are while cheering them on to take the next step. From the first page, Tricia invites her readers to join her for coffee and scones, and that’s exactly how the book feels, like a coffee date with a friend. A dear, wise friend with incredible insight and a cheerleader’s heart.

Tricia does not approach her audience as an expert, but as a fellow journeyer. Her beautiful storytelling will leave you alternately laughing and in tears. Her observations about our brokenness will have you nodding along, calling out, “Yes! Me too!” And her insightful conclusions will prepare you to move forward in confidence.

Each chapter ends with a “Stepping Forward” section, providing practical next steps for the reader. Don’t miss out on these! Many books bring their readers to agreement, but often we are left thinking, “OK, but now what?” These simple steps help the reader move forward—instead of simply recognizing where we want to do better, we can now seize the confidence we long for!

Wherever you are in your journey, whatever your story, this book is for you. Grab a copy of You Can Do This today—actually, grab two and share one with a friend. Trust me, she’ll thank you for it!

You Can Do This by Tricia Lott Williford is an inspiring read if you are in need of more confidence and encouragement. I honestly think this covers most of us women of all ages.

Williford starts out in the introduction of You Can Do This by sharing that she wrote this book to us readers but for herself to remind herself of how she got the confidence when she needs it again. She also shares how she would like us to pull up a chair to the kitchen table with her and realize this book is for both her and us. We need to know that we can get the most out of the book as readers when we do the suggested exercises at the end of each chapter. This is a great book to use with your journal. It would also be great to share with another friend, a counselor, or a study group. You Can Do This will inspire you to think and help you grow, as well as entertaining you with Williford's stories and the Bible stories she referenced. Williford shares lessons she has learned on knowing our identity, appreciating our own beauty, enjoying our own company, learning to receive help and encouragement when we need it, being a confident mom, refusing to give in to fear, and much more.

You Can Do This is the first book that I have read by Williford. I enjoyed her light-hearted conversational style as she shared her real-life stories in which she shares some real-life challenges that she went through while still teaching me how to be a more God-confident woman. It is her realness that inspires me and helps me believe that I can continue to learn and grow into a more confident woman in the midst of my real-life problems. I liked the way she leaves each chapter with something for the reader to do and think about to better learn each chapter's truths. Williford shares inspiring quotes at the beginning of each chapter and I enjoyed all of those too. I also liked that she had a list of related books to read in the back of You Can Do This.

I received You Can Do This from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review in exchange for the book.

First off, I forgot I had selected this book, so when it came in the mail my immediate thoughts were that it was a thin Christian fiction book. By completely ignoring the small writing in yellow in the top left corner, I flipped it over to realize it was a self-help style book. It's a cool cover with a hand lettering style. Kudo's on the designer of this cover.

But to the book itself, I opened the book the next day during a slow period at work thinking I would get a feel for the book in the first few chapters and then set it aside. I was wrong. I didn't set it aside. Instead, I continued to flip page after page, chapter after chapter delving into the writing and thoughts shared by Tricia.

The book is essentially guided us as women to find our confidence again. Consider it delightful self-help book to keep close and handy for those days that turn into weeks where you wonder where your self-confidence went. We all have those days and right now I'm having one of those months. So for me the book was timely.

The back cover has a mantra that I believe every woman should chant to themselves and believe of themselves, "You are smart. You are kind. You are beautiful. You are confident." But within the pages of the book, Tricia, as she describes the book, is writing for herself to turn to when her confidence falters and in turn is sharing with us her guide to restoring confidence.

I found her writing style to be one that spoke to me. I got her. I understood what she was saying and loved the majority of the book. Anything I didn't like was so nit-picky that it doesn't affect my overall rating of the book.

This will be a book I will definitely share with others. There is nothing new inside that all of us don't already know, but it's delightfully written that you just want to ooze with confidence.

I received this book from the publisher, Tyndale Publishing, in exchange for an honest review. The opinions are my own.

As women, we find ourselves struggling almost from birth with the "confidence stealers", whether they come in the form of peers, teachers at school, family members, "that boss"...or those little voices in the back of our minds that constantly remind us that we're not good enough. Tricia urges us to step out from behind the curtain of doubt and seize the confidence that comes from knowing that we are a daughter of the King. We are created with a purpose, and as we step out in confidence, we will begin to live out that purpose and seize the life that we are meant to live. Far from being a "Pollyanna" approach to life, Tricia shares her own struggles and how she has learned to live confidently even in the midst of a life that doesn't always work out like we planned.

Favorite chapter: Chapter 9. All the love here. Bring the tissues.
Favorite quote: "Sometimes you have to be alone in order to find out who you are without anybody telling you. Sometimes you have to be alone so you can learn the sound of your own voice."

Tricia's style is warm and inviting, encouraging the reader to settle in and leaving you feeling like you've made a new friend at the end of the book.

In her book, You Can Do This, Tricia Lott Williford, reminds us to live in the confidence of who we are. We go through life rewinding those tapes and hearing the negative comments which will leave us second-guessing every decision and opportunity as they come along.

"You Can Do This" is a book filled with wisdom and insights this author has learned through her own difficult journey. She shares with a genuineness as she tells of her joys, laughter, tears, and heartaches. She encourages us to see each and every challenge of our life as part of the glorious process God is working through our lives.

Each chapter includes questions for further reflection, or discussion should you decide to use this as a Bible Study. There are suggestions for prayer and for developing spiritual disciplines. By the end of the book, you will find yourself strengthened and encouraged.

But more so, you will find yourself clinging to the powerful truth that God is with you in every moment of your life.

Must read for all women! And teen girls! As a mom of 2 teen girls, this is on their summer reading list. Tricia does it again! Tricia's writing brings you into the story every time and this time is no exception. It feels like she is sitting with me talking to me. Confidence... YES please! This is a story not a book, it makes you laugh, cry, laugh some more and feel like Tricia is a friend and you are getting to know each other. One of the lines that resinates with me "The person you spend the most time with is you, so be careful and intentional about how you speak to yourself." Tricia is talking about the loop playing in our head that tears us down. We have to "stop the tape"! Yes please! I am so guilty of this and I am sure I am not the only one who thinks no one else does this. I absolutely love how Tricia's books draw you in and you want more, you don't want to put the book down. "Having confidence means you can reclaim your story and decide what to do with it." Your story is yours... you are a brave lady "You can do this!"

Stories that will make you laugh, cry and change your mindset come alive in You Can Do This: Seizing the Confidence God Offers. Tricia is a gifted story teller that draws you into each chapter with captivating stories that anyone can relate to. Tricia reminds us that our confidence can't come from others around us and the world we live in, it must come from God. Tricia doesn't paint a picture of perfection, but one of practical ways to move on from mistakes, difficulties and challenges so that you can truly find confidence. One of my favorite chapters is "Never Drop the Same Plate Twice in a Row." This chapter recognizes that we will all drop plates and have times where we fail, but Tricia reminded me that as long as I'm not failing in the same way over and over, I am moving toward success. This book is a wonderful read and will challenge you to erase any negative words you have allowed into your thinking and to replace them with positive words and phrases. Pick it up today and journey with Tricia through your own life and stories!

{necessary information} I received this book from the author as a part of the launch team for free. The opinions expressed in this blog are mine alone and not those of the author or publisher.

{review: You Can Do This} Tricia is a clear and concise writer detailing some hurtful and raw points in her life. Through every chapter there is a reflection assignment to help you work through the tough spots in your life and find the confidence in Him to work through them. She sprinkles quotes from strong famous people, as well as strong Biblical truths.
In chapter 5 she reminds you that the comment section does not have the right to get you down. On page 62, Tricias therapist reminds us that, " Everybody has a chapter of their life they don't read out loud." She introduced me to 6 word stories- which I am very excited to give a try. In chapter 9 she introduces us to her second love story. "No for now isn't no forever"!!!!
Every chapter title is relevant to who we are as women and what we face daily.

If you have ever get like you couldn't do something- you need this book.

If you've ever cared what other people think- you need this book.

If you've ever felt like you couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel- you need this book.

If you've ever felt like you could be more- you need this book.

Basically, you need this book.

I read the first two books from this author and was amazed by her resilient spirit in the face of some really crappy life lessons. In this book she gives you some of her tools that got her through, tools she didn't know she had, tools you probably don't know you have too.

I have applied lots of the advice from this book and I'm not kidding you when I tell you it has changed my life. My favorite is probably her analogy about not caring what people think if they aren't people you would invite to a dinner party in your home. I apply this all. The. Time. It's liberating.

Buy this book. Read it with your pen or highlighter handy. You'll thank me.

Tricia Lott Williford strikes me as a woman who has fought her own battles over confidence and come out the victor. In You Can Do This, she invites her readers to sit down over a hot cuppa’ their beverage of choice and have a conversation about what makes a confident woman and where that confidence ultimately comes from. Her words and her story ask us to embrace our beauty, our bodies, our experiences, our identity, and more and to set healthy boundaries that protect us from the bullies and critics within and among us. From sex, to trauma, to tragedy, no subject is out of bounds. At the end of each chapter she offers space for insight and reflection, which can further the reader in their own confidence journey. Be prepared as you read to laugh belly laughs, shed heartfelt tears, and be invigorated in the belief that you, yes, you can do this!
