The Round: In Bob Graham's Footsteps

Rate this book
Not only a history, but also an exploration of the what, why, and how of this classic mountain running challenge, the Bob Graham Round. It covers the genesis of the BGR and documents its development from idle challenge to its present status as a rite of passage for endurance runners. The Round is emphatically NOT a "how-to" guide. Longlisted for the TGO Outdoor Book of the Year 2015. With black & white plates.

Account of the history and record progression of the Bob Graham Round - best enjoyed by those enchanted by Feet in the Clouds: A Tale of Fell-Running and Obsession or another introduction to the weird world of fell running. The insights into some of the sport's legendary characters are sometimes wry, but sometimes dry (do we really need to know what every runner ever thinks about Ricky Lightfoot and Kilian Jornet's chances of running a swift round?). It's a thoroughly researched account of immense dedication that I'm sure will steel you, should you be mad enough to try this out yourself.
