They devise an ambitious plan with the half-mad Englishman Charlie Keeton to rob the Central Bank of Poland to fund their resistance activities. But when war breaks out in the days afterwards all their plans crumble into dust.

The third book in James Farner's Johann's War Book series is just as compelling and nerve jangling as the first two. 1939 The division between the brothers Erick Brandt and Johann Brandt becomes far wider as Erick rises in the SS and Johann escapes into Poland with the Resistance. Imagine them thinking that Poland is the last safe place!

Highly recommend this series. So far it it has been very entertaining and can't wait to move to the next book.

The series started off wonderfully.... but this book was hard to get through.

Great historical read of Hitler's rise to power starting in 1919.
The story is built around the relationship of two brothers with opposing views of the war! I could not put the book down. Can't wait to read the fourth book!
